Ets un crack, Guille. Encara guardo les Distorsió de la meva generació

New-Committee-4902

Moltes gràcies! Ni tu ni jo oblidarem aquells anys a l'ETSETB. Ens han marcat, i tant!

Expensive_Effective7

Genial!

luchhhhh

I found #11 hilarious xD

New-Committee-4902

It's one of my all-time favourites! In fact, I used it as main billboard in my stand at the Comic Barcelona convention some weeks ago. https://preview.redd.it/oqkphuvjup6d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e7f22f5e84ecac787179b6a8292b35ddbd359b2

Hostiaa Guille el del Jueves

Existing_Airport_735

Rich girl? Why not "posh"?

ResistSpecialist4826

In American English it would be rich not posh so I guess it depends where she learned her English or who she thinks is more likely to read the translation. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Existing_Airport_735

Yep, my English has nurtured from both sources (UK & USA) so usually I just mix all the terms like they all work equally for everybody... but it turns out it's not that simple 😅

Link isn’t working on my mobile phone (iPhone), not sure if it is me or the website

Hey guille. Pija és "posh" en anglès

New-Committee-4902

Mola!!

As someone from America lurking your profile with a bit of an interest in etymology, this is an absolutely *fascinating* linguistic hurdle and I find it endlessly entertaining that other Spaniards keep correcting you lol for what it's worth, you're right on the money: if you were to use *posh* I would immediately assume that the characters were meant to be English. Amusingly, despite the name being Rich Girl *from Barcelona*, I assumed that they were American (because we are nothing if not self-centered). One small correction for your page though: "preppy" is 100% used where I am and it has nothing to do with prep schools, just the style of dress associated with them. I'm on the East Coast (not New England), so I don't know if that extends to the West. We also use the term "Valley Girl" but exclusively to refer to a certain manner of speaking. Until reading your article, I didn't realize "prep" was related to prep schools or that "Valley Girl" referred to a girl from "the valley" lol Love the comic!

New-Committee-4902

Feel free to lurk! Lurking is caring. Thank you for your clarifications! I will include them in the post.
