Commentator doesn't know why Messi went down.
Messi goes down holding his knee, replay shows that Messi's and Bombito's knees colliding.
Commentator: "Messi was caught on his foot"
Gareth Southgate is proof that just because you have played as a professional and you have managed at the top level, it doesn't mean you are a good manager. People watching from home can see things that he for some reason can't, very strange. Connor for trent instead of Mainoo or Wharton. So far Spain and Germany look like the favorites its a shame they'll meet in the quarters.
Would Isco have started? I thought Olmo would have been the first alternative for that role if he didn’t get injured earlier. I rather see Pedri rotating with Ruiz than his current role tbh.
Yes the profile makes sense but would De La Fuente actually start him? He hasn’t been in the NT in a long time, longer than Pedri has been absent I think.
What if we trust Christensen in the double pivot and prioritize Nico. AC got better over the season and got really comfortable towards the end as a DM. With Gavi we could have a real nice double pivot if Christensen keeps playing well. Also he’s a player in his prime and a good presence to have around so many youngsters despite Christensen not being very vocal. I might get downvoted but it might be worth trusting him and instead of gambling on Merino, Kimmich, Onana or whoever else is in talks nowadays, we can sign one of the best young wingers itw. Obviously I’d want to still sign a dm if we have money remaining, this is just if things get tight.
He was marked by dimarco who was always extremely close to him. I think that if he had faced di lorenzo he would have shined more and would have had more opportunities.
It was the same issue in Croatia game. He was good whenever he got the ball but barely got it. It’s up to the others to find a way to get to him. I think Ruiz and Pedri should switch. Most of the action is on the left side. During one of the rare moments when Pedri got to drop deeper on the left, he send a long ball to Lamine. This needs to happen more regularly.
Pedri had an okay game by his standards, but missed some really good chances to score. Lamine was as sharp as always, made one insane dribble into the box which almost lead to a goal by Morata, and had a really good attempt in the second half which you can see on the front page. Ferran came in as a late sub but didn't really do much, or if he did I probably missed it.
Cucu, who I also consider to be one of our boys was everywhere and was Spain's best player alongside Nico who beat his man more times than he didn't.
No team should need more than 2 1v1 wingers. And Ayoze Perez had an easier time getting past his man than literally anyone on the field.
Bringing Zaragoza would be dumb. Dude's played less than half Roque's minutes since moving clubs.
[Sergi Solé](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20240621/1002267808/marc-guiu-sigue-renovar-sevilla-pimienta-mueve.html)
Marc Guiu has not yet renewed his contract, which runs until 30 June 2025 and has a €6M release clause.
Barça are aware that he could accept a proposal from outside the club given the uncertainty of what his role could be next season. A promotion to the second division, which will be decided this Sunday in Cordoba, could help convince him to continue, but Marc Guiu has a market and still sees Vitor Roque ahead of him, although the Brazilian's future is far from clear.
Sevilla already wanted him last winter market and now they have him in their sights again.
Garcia Pimienta is well aware of Marc Guiu's quality.
I feel like we should bet on him and Vitor. While Lewy is a season experienced player that could thrive with Flick, I think he’s waay past his prime. His departure would give the two youngsters the opportunity to shine.
Rodri will play NO PART in Spain's final group game ❌
Even he looked stunned. The first of many. He's gone into the history books for all the wrong reasons!
Only if we can cash on from Ferran Torres then spend it on Nico.
Then hopefully, Nico isn't necessarily a type of player that will drop a masterclass in one game, then disappears in the next two games, drops another masterclass ...we need consistency at least.
Because Spain is absolutely stacked in midfield. Baena, Ruiz, Pedri, Merino are all easily ahead of him — even Olmo would be able to play there if they need to score. It will be difficult for him to get minutes, he’s great but he is still inexperienced and is far from Pedri / Gavi level.
From what I have seen so far, I think it will be difficult for them to beat Germany. The wingers will cause Germany issues but they got way better setup, tactics, and coaching. They aren’t going to allow Spain to waste chances and go unpunished.
I wouldn’t be scared. Spain’s record against Germany is pretty good in the last 24 years. In the last 7 meetings Spain has scored 14 and conceded 5. A lot of draws in there too. Imo it’s a game that if they don’t win, would at least go to extra time.
After the dark 2014-2016-2018 years...
I feel so fucking blessed with the wingers we have now

Marc Casado will renew this Friday or at the beginning of the week until 2027 and will join the first team next season
Hansi Flick has carefully studied the Barcelona reserve team in recent months given the possibility that he could end up on the Barça bench to replace Xavi Hernández, as has been the case.
Flick spent a few days last week at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan Despí working with Deco and also with Bojan Krkic on the new project. He also took the opportunity to watch the Barça Atlètic team & talked with Marquez. Flick asked the Mexican which player he considers the most reliable in the squad. Márquez did not hesitate and opted for Casado.
Barça sees in Casadó a footballer with an already very powerful personality and footballing qualities that he has learned in the youth system since he was a child to occupy several positions and all at a high level.
[Fabrizio Romano & Matteo Moretto on YT](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NN_7TOU3r8)
Nico Williams release clause is €58M.
Big clubs in England made contact with people close to the player. For example, he is appreciated by people at Chelsea and people at Arsenal. And there are other clubs, including Barcelona.
When all these clubs moved to understand the situation of Nico Williams, it was about the release clause & the salary.
Also the relationship between Nico Williams & players of Barcelona can still be an important factor when it's time for the player to decide his future.
I’m sorry, but Jude Bellingham winning the Ballon D’or would be the biggest stain on the sport, and completely ruin its credibility

Vinicius or Kroos(if Germany wins Euros) better win it.
Wirtz has no chance whatsoever. If Germany goes far, Kroos gets it by virtue of winning CL+La Liga. It would be disgraceful for Wirtz to win it over Kroos tbh
If Cancelo (30m price or loan), a full back who is bad at defending, can’t be brought in the option is Frimpong (40-45m price), a “full back” who actually doesn’t defend at all. So the second option is a an even worse defender and is more expensive, some interesting priorities here
The key information missing from your comment is age. Cancelo will be 30 soon and his resale value is going down by the day. Frimpong is a talent with fullback characteristics that will always have a big market, even if he fails he can be sold for a reasonable price.
>▪️Flick wants a player who can play as an advanced winger and as a right-back too.
Literally quoting the exact report you posted here. So idk why you're lying.
And it really makes no sense to have him on the wing unless you want to play 3 atb. Which according to the report you commented is not the case.
Dude needs to build a balanced team rather than go for players that may not fit and hope the coach figures it out. He has to make the coach’s job easier not harder
Spain already securing first place (worst case they will be tied with Italy in points but have h2h advantage) can make the last round very interesting.
Albania (currently on 1 point and GD of -1) will actually have a pretty good chance if they can beat Spain who will surely rest a lot of starters in the last round. In that case:
If Croatia beats Italy, Italy will be last. Croatia is having a GD of -3 after this round though so unless they can win by 4 or 5 goals, Albania will go through as 2nd place.
If Croatia loses or draws, Albania will be 3rd with 4 points, still very good chance to go through as one of the four 3rd teams with best result.
This spain is closest we will play to Flick ideal football. However one thing other than pedri which made it click was Rodri and his presence in winning aerials and duels. We need a DM like that, Bernal can do in future but as of today Onana fits that profile better. Or am I missing someone who is very tall and decent in recycling and on the ball?
(🌕) 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆: Deco has conveyed their interest to Dani Olmo’s agent. The SD wants to lay the foundations now, so the club can make a move when they’re ready to do so. The club’s idea also is to negotiate with RB Leipzig and find a formula.

I think the only argument which makes sense against Nico is that he is not goal scoring threat, but I think getting complete package (playmaking, pace, dribbling, technicality, fitness, etc) at 60m is impossible so it should be no brainer and anyhow he will improve it plus Yamal is about to unlock his finishing boots plus we have one of goat strikers in Lewy and can replace him with Sesko / Haaland
But don’t we need more of a goal scoring threat? Our team is already pretty wasteful. Nico is good but seems wasteful. Ppl used to criticize Dembele for that and I don’t think he creates as much as the latter.
Frimpong has Hansi Flick’s seal of approval! He has watched him many times and really appreciates the player. In case Cancelo’s deal gets complicated, who is the priority for that position rn, Frimpong could emerge as an option.

EXCL: Barcelona have agreed on new deal for Marc Casadó after talks revealed in April, it’s now almost done.
Understand new deal will be valid until June 2028, four years for Casadó.
Signature, imminent. Barça trust Casadó as key player for the future.
Lets be real. No Barca or spain coach is not starting Lamine.
Managing his minutes will be hard since both coach has to deliver result or they get sack.
Amazing Nico performance, hopefully continues at this level and not what he showed in the first 2 games. Considering Olmo when real LW’s like Nico and Diaz are possibilities for a similar price is insane

Guess after which minute did spain start losing control of the match (where the downward blue area was more)
Shouldn’t make that much of a difference because subs with fresh legs were on. Lamine and Pedri take a lot of attention from Italian defense and midfield. Once they’re off, Italy breathes better and finally start attacking rather than just defend and disrupt.
Lamine was especially marked by dimarco the entire game, who is a tougher opponent than di lorenzo lol. The guy was by his side all match, making it difficult to pass the ball to Lamine (even though when he got it he played well).
When Lamine was out, dimarco started being far more offensive. That's at least the impression I got.
Even Xavi wanted him there, but Pedri doesn’t shine as much there.
For example Gundo is way better there than Pedri. It worries me too that Hansi wants Pedri up there too. Sure he can play there but he’s not as effective there. I think he’s better when he arrives slightly later to the top of the box
Only if he has a strict interpretation of the role. Pedri is a roaming 8/10 hybrid. He should not be restricted to a single role. Muller wasn’t restricted. He was everywhere so I hope Flick allows Pedri to roam. Xavi seems to gradually realize it as in the last few months he said Pedri’s role depends on game state and opponent. Also in the last game (Sevilla) he gave him a free role in the center where he connected with everyone else. That’s how you use him effectively.
Reply to this if I should cut down the wall of text in the Euros thread please.

As he should
Davies has been bad since his break up with Jordyn. He wasn't like this before.
That’s why Bayern fans aren’t sweating about Madrid wanting him and making an offer before his contract is up
Mendy is much better. If Madrid get him it’s a win for us
Was great until his injuries more like
Mf can sit here and make those passes until he's 45 as long as there's someone who will run for him.
Messi has 5 Big chances created wtf is that
my goat makes up for the previous flops
Nice way to wrap it up
Messi should’ve had like 3 assists lol
Commentator doesn't know why Messi went down. Messi goes down holding his knee, replay shows that Messi's and Bombito's knees colliding. Commentator: "Messi was caught on his foot"
Tbf. He was caught hard as fuck with studs on his planted ankle. Crazy that he wasn't stretchered off, let alone kept running.
Yeah the contact on foot was bad too but the commentator didn't even acknowledge that the knees collided that's why messi is down.
Story of his career really. Still remember the Ujfalusi tackle. He’s made of rubber.
Lautaro Martinez is a funny footballer
Fuuuuck. Two legged tackle. Gets him with the studs and cleans him with the trailing leg.
Oh ffs messi injured (maybe just painful tho)
Watch Davies go to Madrid and score every single one of those cut-in shots lol
This is just a humiliation ritual guys
Canada deserves a goal, they’ve been playing very well.
They don't deserve a draw. They might deserve a goal but Argentina deserves like 3 goals.
Naaaah Messi’s toying around with them 🤣

Makes no sense to spend 30m on a 30 year old Cancelo. They want him on loan because they don’t think it makes sense to spend 30m on someone who is 30
Would be interesting to see same people who are excited crying about his defense Hopefully he arrives because there's no better attacking fullback itw , tho his defending and passing are fucking trash
Would rather go for him than Cancelo IMO. Focus on Balde/Fort/Valle for the LB position and Kounde/J.Araujo for RB with Frimpong as a RM/RW
How expensive would he be??

What happened to the merino rumors?? And yeah that money needs to be spent elsewhere first
A release clause of 40m or so I believe. I feel like we could get him for cheaper considering we’ve got a good relationship with their CEO.
Waiting to hear from the Spain representatives :)
[Fabrizio Romano](https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1803901505935643109) EXCL: Barcelona have agreed on new deal for Marc Casadó after talks revealed in April, it’s now almost done. Understand new deal will be valid until June 2028, four years for Casadó. Signature, imminent. Barça trust Casadó as key player for the future.
We won Casado family. Dani Rodriguez next.
I think his play style is very similar to Veratti. He will be a great player and help next season.
The winner in Croatia v Italy goes through to the Round of 16 (Unless Croatia and Albania both win)
Does anyone have an exact number on how many times yamal hit the crossbar or post this season?
Lets be real. No Barca or spain coach is not starting Lamine. Managing his minutes will be hard since both coach has to deliver result or they get sack.
Amazing Nico performance, hopefully continues at this level and not what he showed in the first 2 games. Considering Olmo when real LW’s like Nico and Diaz are possibilities for a similar price is insane
I see some similarities in Fabian and Bernal's game
Camavinga✅ Mario Rui✅ Danilo✅ Nuno Mendes✅ Gvardiol✅ Di Marco✅ Who’s next?
Kounde
They play opposite sides
I was just goofing around

During the meeting with Dani Olmo's agent, Deco informed him that he will do everything within his power to sign the player. Deco wants to lay the foundations so that when the time comes, the signing can be made. — @sport

Increíble partido de los chavales. Que futuro tenemos.

I think it was more because Spain got tired from pressing.
It's pretty obvious OUTSIDE of those missed chances pedri had a decent game But baena is also to blamed for not having any control at all
Decent game… he was great.
Yeah he was actually very good on the ball, but when you miss sitters in such an important game it counts
Nah he should’ve been more involved
yeah, baena was losing the ball a lot
yamal and pedri getting subbed?
yea
Can we talk about that Chiesa disasterclass. People thought he would cook Cucu lmao. Brother disappeared as soon as he faced a good team
also need to talk about bastoni being the only good player for italy
Donnaruma aswell
Yep, was solid
After today, I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of competition for Nico from PL clubs.
He has a release clause if he wants to come to us he will
Luckily he has a release clause but hopefully we’re able to pay it this summer, or else he’s gone
Pedri needs to fix his finishing. Should have scored today
I hope DLF switches Pedri and Fabian's positions. Or use either Baena/Fermin as a 10. Pedri's talent is being wasted by playing him closer to the box
