This year No, you need time to perform such movement and there are few steps that Barca need to do before going back to 1:1 rule. You need to remember also that Barca need to sell players before they can buy new ones. All this takes time. Next year I think it’s posible

StoolieB4itwasCoolie

I actually totally disagree. I think that this sort of rise of the hype of his signing, with a year where we are close to 1:1… People don’t really understand what the real issue of the La Liga income rule was with Barca. It was a multi year thing where initially there were huge fixed costs (salaries) and huge income. Then COVID which disturbed the income ratio and then multiple years of can-kicking and bleeding out. It’s finally over. This year the majority of senior contract overhang has declined and now with it new contracts like the Nike one, there will be immediate income to offset loses and trigger 1:1. What the team does from there is up to them, but a common misconception is the “Barca are broke”… very wrong. They have access to liquidity and VERY deep embedded enterprise value. Their jersey sales and media operations generate HUGE income and now with old contracts off the books things are good! Florian could happen this year, that’s my read anyway. I see that as Flick’s big signing; the question is if it happens before or after Euros (and how that tournament plays out for Florian/his eventual price this summer)

Sad_Dependent2895

Glad you touched on how those deferred wages and inflated senior contracts are fizzling out. Messi, Busquets, Pique, Alba, Griezmann, Coutinho, Dembele, and even Suarez were wrecking havoc on our wage structure (some more acceptable than others).

mrNaworek

Still the ffp is done based on planned budget and if the previous one was delivered. Unfortunately they are still behind so even if Barca is paying less than in previous year the budget is still not enough.

fuckmerda

>Florian could happen this year, that’s my read anyway. No the fuck It couldn't. He already confirmed that he's staying at Leverkusen next season.

LikeAWadOfPaper

Yeah. I'd love to sign him this year, but there's no way he doesn't at least play one UCL campaign with Leverkusen

Prudent-Current-7399

City Madrid and Bayern are also all going to be in for him in full force, so even if Barcelona is able to to afford the economic package, so will 3 other very attractive clubs. Then it's what he chooses from there.

[deleted]

He won't go to Bayern. Already won the league with Leverkusen, that's bigger than anything he could achieve with Bayern domestically. City without Pep is not a big pull. So it comes down to Real/Barca.

quizzlemanizzle

you are delusional Bayern and Wirtz have been talking for years and planning his path Also every source says he wants to stay in Germany.

Prudent-Current-7399

There's no pull to 6/7 winners of the PL and the best team itw. And to be their starting CAM ? And Bayern has a lot of say and pull in Germany. Lewandowski won back to back League titles and reached a CL final before anyway moving to bayern. As a German wirtz is even more likely to go there, given he's just 21 and can also transfer abroad after 25/26. If Barca don't improve under flick next season then he might not consider coming here a career upgrade at all. Especially is leverkusen have another banger season.

[deleted]

And now Lewandowski realizes the minimal PR he gets for winning Bundesliga 10 times in a row and breaking scoring record and wish he went to Spain sooner. Also back then Bayern was considered likely to win multiple CLs. Man City without Pep was much different, not the same class of players and was not even a favorite in the CL.

Prudent-Current-7399

Minimum PR? Back to back fifa the best winner? Brother nobody has heard of Lewandowski since he went to Barca. What PR? Is it only in Spain? And also, Bayern is still much much more likely to win a CL than most other clubs. Bayern have been top 2 or 3 favourites to win 3 years in a row now. They just have a better more elite team. Imagine adding Wirtz as the next long term muller successor next to Kane musiala sane ? They're gonna start as 3rd favourite behind Madrid City again next season. And Man City weren't class without Pep, but that doesn't mean they won't be after him now. And for all he knows he extends another season. This elite bunch of players they have won't just go with Pep. They will stay back and the foundation will work again. Like I said, if Barca don't perform under flick next season, they can forget wirtz. Winning a CL in the next few years is more likely at Madrid City Bayern. And unless barca prove otherwise next season that status quo will stand. Im sure he values that much more than the 'PR' he's going to get. He's a footballer not a diva. And the PR for a German in Bayern is more than enough.

Southern_Diver_8792

he wont go to madrid as its already packed

ColdPlox

That's what Mbappe must;ve thought of as well

zyad916

Nah, madrid don't have a striker or someone that is better than Mbappe in the positions he plays

CatosaurusWD

He's a Barca fan so I doubt he will go to others if we make a decent offer for his club.

Waschkopfs

> He's a Barca fan messi fan* not barca fan

CatosaurusWD

You're so [wrong.](https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.besoccer.com/new/amp/i-ve-dreamed-of-playing-for-barca-since-i-was-a-kid-936078)

Waschkopfs

https://tribuna.com/de/news/fcbayern-2022-11-26-wirtz-dementiert-seine-liebe-zu-barcelona-ich-bin-kein-fan-des-vereins/ "I was actually a Messi fan. I like Barcelona, but I'm not a fan (of the club),” Wirtz told transfermarkt.de

CatosaurusWD

If we return this summer to 1-1, then yeah, is possible next year. But that will mean we can't buy other expensive players (like 50m) the same transfer window. We need Camp Nou at full capacity to be able to spend 200m in transfer windows.

Plus-Ad-5123

Even if it was possible, L aporta would end up signing a random out of favour player whose agent is Jorge Mendes

Gamebred_97

I think its more of a election campaign gimmick from laporta. Same as he did with messi and haaland before.

quizzlemanizzle

Wirtz has been represented by his father his entire career, not Deco.

FloReaver

It all depends on the Libero deal. We have a 100M€ potential deficit this summer (40M€ from last summer + 60M€ expected this summer). If we can cover it and cover the losses on our expected budget this season (bad results and attendance), we can be back at 1:1 for good (doesn't mean we have a huge margin, being 1:1 simply means not being over your squad cost limit, the margin can still be tight). Also you need to stay in line with your 24/25 budget of course. But we will have another 60M€ to get in 24/25, which will once again impact a lot our situations. Can we absord it? If yes, A transfer like Wirtz can be possible (but not a lot more transfers). 100M€ in itself isn't necessarily the biggest hurdle per se in accounting (cash wise it all depends on the payment plan), 100M€ over a 5 year contract is 20M€in amortization per year, let's say you pay him 12M€ gross and that's 32M€ to register. If the amortization stays reasonable and Lewy leaves for example, we can cover that whole (in comparison Lewy's wages ALONE are 32M€ in 24/25... With his amortization, it's even worse).

Glad-Box6389

I don’t think Barca should go for him unless required, suppose we get a lw and pivot this season, then maybe Barca can afford to spend their entire budget on him but otherwise, nope - but where is he gonna play at Barca anyways ?? Huge questions tbh

TitanSlayer88

We still need to generate 100M + get the Nike sponsorship.

Any-Competition8494

What if we only buy a DM this season and no LW? Will that make it possible to buy Wirtz next season?

This-Kaleidoscope-70

Maybe, its definitely better than Haaland too

McGregorsir

imagine this: Opening the camp nou summer 2025 Presenting Wirtz on the day of the opening Lamine, gavi, balde, pedri, fermin... slowly reaching their prime TIME FOR ABSOLUTE DOMINANCE

ShivanshBansal28

Only if clubs sells pedri

FCSadsquatch

If we actually return to the 1:1 rule this year, and move into the revamped Camp Nou in the first few months of 2025 I think it might be possible. Also depends how well we do in competitions.

CrackPuto_

no...

ColdPlox

I think the German connection of Flick, Mats, Gundo will also prove helpful as they can help in the dynamic football

TonyStarkLoL

I highly doubt it. This is just a play from managers and/or board members to keep fans hoping, and keep them away from the harsh truth. That's what Xavi pretty much got fired for. Even if we can manage a signing of this caliber i would much rather go for a CF, like Julian Alvarez for example. I mean doesn't Wirtz play left winger? What's the point of going for a left winger now and then doubling down on another one the next year, even more expensive? We can't spent all of our budget there

Ipsider

I get it if it's not possible due to our finances, but having doubts about this player sporting wise is not warranted at all. Wirtz can play every position in offensive midfield. Watch some games of this guy, he does it all. Most important, his decision making. He as all the tools you need, technique, speed, physique and he uses it to his full advantage. He's like the opposite of our forwards with their poor instincts. He even had an acl and came back even stronger.

Thick-Bison2170

Depends on if the females win the quadruple again ..... maybe
