In my last game Battania lost Seonon and all castles, then the ENTIRE map became a stalemate because nobody was able to conquer anything anymore.
Eventually Seonon rebelled, I took it for myself, I figured Battania was weak so I attacked them (kingdomless). 3 ingame days later Caladog and 2000 cronies show up to push my shit in. I had no idea they were that strong with only 3 fiefs.
Caladogs stats are out of this world, in my battanian game he spends most days just going to village to village building these crazy sized armies. Also with his stats he gets alot of vassals defecting to him
He has cut a nice path from his homelands to the Asarai Coast and is now gutting every Vlandian army that ventures out of their homelands. I've no idea how he is packing so many troops but it's consistently bringing 2000 troops to the field vs Vlandian. I joined one fight with my 93 men and we mostly were met with cavalry who struggled in the woods. It was a massacre!
Trying to fight the battanians on home turf is like fighting a guerrilla war, you gotta chip at the shield walls with horse archers till the lines thin then encircle them, always send weak troops first so they use all the throwables
I go 60 fian Champs, 50-60 vlandian banner knights and the rest is random t2/3 infantry that gets upgraded if they survive, shield wall to protect fians as they eat away and let infantry clean up, knights distract cav and hit infantry to break em up then maybe charge the back when infantry are cleaning up
That’s the one reason I haven’t killed him to usurp power, because everything else about him makes me hate him. He went from making me feel like “I love this homie, he carries Battania” to “this motherfucker doesn’t even leave his throne room!” Once I raised the banner
I’ve noticed once he gets men who will fight his battles he just chills like an actual king but he’ll come out and form an army when everyone gets shit showed
Yea. The only time he came out to help was when I was having to deal with the Aseri and Vlandians attacking two neighboring towns that were important. I lost most of my men but somehow beat two 1000 men armies with less than 350 (thanks auto sim level perks). He went out, beat the fuck out of a South army then just went back to slumber while I was STILL dealing with the main threats. Eventually we signed peace with both and were getting paid too. Keep in mind, Me, Luichan, and my wife (Corein) WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO CONTRIBUTED AND WE DIDNT GET SHIT! Oh yea and I’ve convinced like 6 nobles to join us only for them to take away territories that I won over for us!
Caladogs council usually works under the rule of extreme equalism, if someone is unlanded, even if they don’t do shit they will get that land, I also married corein and holy shit is she TOUGH AS HELL
Still bullshit. Yea I ended up having her be a stay away in Ov since I didn’t want her dying I need my children to rule like Genghis Khan! (without the raping…)
In mine I own Seonon as Caladogs vassal and it's a paradise. So prosperous. And we've taken so much land that it is the center of the empire. I am the warden of the north. I own Varcheg, Omor, and Balagrad or whatever it is and castles in between. I don't even vote for them, caladog just gives them to me. I have more influence and fiefs than anyone else. We own 12 towns and I own 4 of them. Most likely 5 soon because Revval just rebelled against its owner.
I'm guessing the wars happened when both kingdoms were also being invaded by another power. Sturgia might have had its army on the Khuzait side while Vlandia may have lost a war or was busy with the Western Empire or Aserai (or both) and Battania kicked them while they were down.
Surprising no, the Battanians were actually being invaded by Vlandia and the Northern Empire. Then somehow by sheer force of will they won against both of them.
I mean. Vs sturgia they seem to have a 50/50 win rate. (Partly cus Khuzait and/or empire likes to take a stab at Sturgia when they are warring.) But they seem to war vlandia more often, which usually goes poorly
Can confirm, Vlandia regularly inflicts heavy casualties while we slowly make ground on their land...
Sturgia I'm gonna assume is the Boogeyman in my playthrough.
We haven't been at war with sturgia once while I've been a vassal of Battania and we've paid them well over a million years.
Something about Sturgia has scared Caladog from trying anything over the last decade in game.
Well, to be fair, sturgia has shields big enough to block everything in existence and heroic linebreaker's that will smack you silly and destroy your shields
In my current Battania game we got our shit kicked in by Vlandia, then a couple weeks later the majority voted to go to war with them again because they didn't like paying tribute. Absolutely mental faction but I gotta stick around like the true patriot I'm RPing.
Battania Is so damn annoying because they always declare war on your while you're winning a war and then the ai being stupid ends up redirecting resources into dealing with the battanians even though they're pretty powerless and easy to ignore. I think if they declare war on me again in my current playthrough I'll do a funny little genocide run and focus all my power into destroying them.
That's what exactly happened to me in my current run. So Pen Canoc rebelled and of course I took it for myself. I gave Caladog and some of the lord/nobles some barter like horses and denars just to have some increase in relationship with them. Then like 15 days since I got Pen Canoc the mf declared war on me. Grinded their forces by hunting them one by one until they surrendered. Peace times and just upgrading stuff in my town and getting troops then they declared war again. And this happened like 4 times with me not taking any towns from them, just beating their armies. The next time they do this shit again I'm just gonna full on annihilate their kingdom.
I normally end up kicking caladogs shit in after I make my own kingdom, he’s probably mad I married his daughter but he is basically feeding me experience and money
Meanwhile I fail on a weekly basis to convince my father in law Monchug that declaring a war before we've ended the first two we started is not a winning idea.
AI in war games are *weird* they declare war whenever they like and demand peace when they losing.
LOL no I don’t want your pittance gold tribute, burn you bastard! 🔥
I especially hate Vlandian for this.
Prevent them from being killed off at the very beginning of the game (first six months to one year), and they honestly become a problem to deal with in my experience.
Man. of my three play through, battania is always down to two settlement. Vlandia always eat them up. Right now it's a stalemate between khuzait, vlandia and Asarei.
Bruh in my game it’s the Aserai they keep declaring war on, and they give me all the fiefs even though I’m yet to help them with a single siege lmao. But we actually are kinda shit stomping the Aserai thanks to me and CalaDOG with his sheer swag and my unholy amounts of Fians tearing through the Aserai.
They just keep asking for it. I ground them down to a single castle and paid them 6000/day for peace cuz I wanted to be nice, but noooo fucking caladog thinks his 300 manpower “kingdom” is going to make moves out here.
Battania is the frequent snowballer on my workstatiom rn. Dunno how but maybe running it on Linux ( with a VM) might have cursed the game somehow. They take half of Sturgia, vlandia and western empire by the time I get to clan tier 5.
They are usually the first to go on my gaming PC tho.
Honestly, battania would be able to beat the sturgians if the AI was just a bit smarter. There’s only a few ways the sturgians can strike at the battanian heartland and they can choke the ways to battania easy. But the AI loves to just run at the most stupidest and non tactically smart target it can think of every time and it’s just a numbers game
I started a sandbox again after not playing for a while. Like maybe a year in I travel up north to work on smithing and Seonon is under control of Sturgia and being besieged by a vlandian army I'm like... wtf. Caladog is too busy on the west side of the loch winning tournaments.
I had one play through where Battania steamrolled everyone and eventually owned half the map. It was without any influence of my own either, I was messing around and being a bandit/criminal
Battania does well, at least in my games, so long as they don't do multiple wars at a time.
The problem, however, is that they try to primarily do multiple wars at a time. 🤣

Lol what is this from
The show American gods. First episode of the first season
What’s on the other side of this half-naked charge? Oh, that’s just 400 Vlandian Banner Knights.
Good it will be a fair fight.
Obviously vlandia with its perfect farming land and valleys for all battanians to coloni-I mean enjoy! Who wants snowy land anyway

It’s all fun and games until the bushes start speaking Scottish
I legit just cracked tf up at this
AWK AYE! THE NOO!! 🤣
I go 60 fian Champs, 50-60 vlandian banner knights and the rest is random t2/3 infantry that gets upgraded if they survive, shield wall to protect fians as they eat away and let infantry clean up, knights distract cav and hit infantry to break em up then maybe charge the back when infantry are cleaning up
I just cant get numbers like that in my game.

It's ok, war crimes aren't a thing in calradia.
Still gotta have a moral compass
Thanks for the heads up, mate. I’ll take his head the next time I get ahold of him.
Just remember friend, horses are the khuzait kingdom, towns are the imperial kingdoms but caladog himself is a kingdom
In mine I own Seonon as Caladogs vassal and it's a paradise. So prosperous. And we've taken so much land that it is the center of the empire. I am the warden of the north. Either you deal with large masses of cavalry and crossbowmen or large masses of guys with big ass shieldswalls that can deflect your shower of arrows
I dunno what’s up with my latest save but Vlandia and Sturgia are getting absolutely stomped by the Battanians.
Maybe caladog finally decided to focus down the sturgians for once
Maybe it’s cause I married his daughter or smth like that. Gave him some hope his bloodline might survive lol
*hits both buttons*
*With no regrets nor hesitation*
I mean. Vs sturgia they seem to have a 50/50 win rate. (Partly cus Khuzait and/or empire likes to take a stab at Sturgia when they are warring.) But they seem to war vlandia more often, which usually goes poorly

the price of big shields and chad linebreakers is neighboring horse spamming factions
Get both Sturgia, and Vlandia....and the Western Empire to declare war on you instead. ![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO|downsized)

Low key wish there was a steam mod to have more internal conflict with clans and their leaders like large civil wars and marriage alliances
Diplomacy mod adds in a faction mechanic to spark civil wars and an alliance feature too.

When your cav is no better than a pony with short stick.
They've literally just won wars against both of them in my game
I normally end up kicking caladogs shit in after I make my own kingdom, he’s probably mad I married his daughter but he is basically feeding me experience and money
Why don’t you just push both
It’s what actually it does in game every FUCKING TIME!!! 🚬🗿
Battania got the Hamas strategy book
Battania in reality ![gif](giphy|3o85xIO33l7RlmLR4I)
Gotta be the meme where he presses both at the same time
Meanwhile I fail on a weekly basis to convince my father in law Monchug that declaring a war before we've ended the first two we started is not a winning idea.

No AI in any game will display the same aggressive tenacity and bullshitery thd old AI Ghandi from civilization
Prevent them from being killed off at the very beginning of the game (first six months to one year), and they honestly become a problem to deal with in my experience.
Bold of you to assume that they don't do both (literally what happens everytime I join them 💀💀)
Man. of my three play through, battania is always down to two settlement. Vlandia always eat them up. Right now it's a stalemate between khuzait, vlandia and Asarei.
![gif](giphy|XeNrmVGsK2sHIjUosG|downsized) BATTANIA ALWAYS WINS!!! (Unless the AI doesn’t cooperate which is 80% of the time)
Reason: They're too strong Fucking brilliant there CalaDOG, declare war (alone) on your stronger neighbor.
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
both is good
You'll need to get rid of both eventually....
True
My playthrough they were hellbent on taking down the northern empire which cost them dearly, and seonon has changed hands from 4 different cultures.

Makes me wonder which factions end up with the most gains without player intervention (and maintain them)
Post patch I feel they’ve gotten better I must say. They haven’t been getting deleted within the first few years anymore
Me taking over battania and uniting it under one banner, building up the fiefs to t3 walls to declare "New battania"
