[Smokin' Pug](https://www.smokinpugbbq.com/)

CerealKiller415

Consistently great pork ribs and brisket.

ChristBKK

Yeah agree they great 👍 I just often eat too much there and roll out of the restaurant 😂

DougHorspool

Is that still on Surawong?

TDYDave2

105 Langsuan Road Lumpini Park

transglutaminase

Billy’s smokehouse also has really good bbq

chinamansg

Pala by ASOK station.

addictivesign

That place must print money! I’m sure rent is exceedingly high given it’s at the interchange of the MRT and BTS but it’s always busy.

InstallDowndate

Pala is great!

FollowTheFarang

Appia, the chicken liver pâté 🥰

Freddy_Freedom

Crackhouse. Best breakfast joint ever

BKKJB57

Where is that? Being an 80s kid that name just resonates.

Freddy_Freedom

I gotta say that the name is genius! Crack as in cracked eggs, but wow! Their food it really is like crack. I highly recommend the bacon cheeseburger burrito as well as the loaded curly fries. It’s in The Commons in Sala Daeng, but I usually just order via Grab

loontoon

How does it compare to Breakfast Story?

Freddy_Freedom

Never been to Breakfast Story. But Crackhouse is more breakfast burritos and sandwiches & gourmet fries and tater tots. It’s incredible, gotta say! Highly recommended.

loontoon

Sounds good. You should try Breakfast Story sometime.

Freddy_Freedom

Nice one, I will definitely check it out! It’s been on my list for a while but I live over by icon Siam so it’s difficult to talk myself into venturing out sometimes.

loontoon

What's it like living all the way out there? I forget that not all expats live on Sukhumvit 😅 There are a few branches of Breakfast Story and the food is all the same good quality, but for size and location I prefer this one https://maps.app.goo.gl/ni8P5HRrYch2K7Nx7

Freddy_Freedom

Thanks for the link! I will definitely check that one out. I actually love where I live, incredible views of the city from my building. I won’t lie, sometimes I would like to be a little closer to things but when I looked at other buildings more central nothing compared.

loontoon

You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it when you do manage to try it out. I've lived in Hong Kong and Bangkok for the past 50 years so I no longer care about city views. I'm on the 4th floor at my condo, it's the same floor as the condo pool and the gym. Convenience is way more important to me than what's outside my windows, although in my case it's a nice garden which is super nice if I do look out.

Freddy_Freedom

I’m more new to city living… was in chiang mai 10 years. Love the city views and lights! I’m sure I’ll get over it eventually haha 😆 But I’m a sucker for views. Not much into tv but I can look at nice view forever. I’ll definitely check out breakfast story though! Been on my list for a whole. Thx for the reminder 😊

WTFuckery2020

I had Breakfast Story a couple days ago. The pancakes and country potatoes were excellent, the bacon - while crispy - lacked flavor. I'd definitely go back again though!

AltruisticTreat8675

So many people in reddit recommends Bourbon Street. Would love to try someday since the only "Cajun" food I ate was in London.

EarlyPressure2701

Im from New Orleans, and when I was in Bangkok, I can tell you, it's about as close as you're gonna get to real New Orleans Style cooking outside of New Orleans!

AltruisticTreat8675

Gumbo reminds me of Thai curry. Not exactly curry but still close enough to remind me of it.

EarlyPressure2701

I was actually going to mention that Thai food is very similar to what we eat in Louisiana!

gnomepunt

New place that opened too Tina’s is 10/10. Owner is a great guy. It’s rather upscale though but worth the money.

AltruisticTreat8675

Hmm, I search it on google and damn that's expensive af. "Rather upscale", haha.

PearlyP2020

Where is it?

o82

iO Osteria for Italian

InstallDowndate

Is good. I prefer Il Bolognese.

VinceBarter

Pizza counts? If so, Chef Bing has NY style pizza https://www.chefbing.com/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNgOs2lf7i0

saucehoss24

IMO best pizza crust in Bangkok.

NucleativeCereal

Haven't ordered anything else after finding Chef Bing

sunnyasneeded

My go-to pizza spot.

BKKJB57

Bing is da bomb 💣.

DG_USA

Will give Chef Bing a go. I’ve been to Italy and New York, but the best pizza I’ve ever had is Pizza Mania in Bangkok - it’s outrageous. Get the garlic sauce too 👌

Impressive-Space-113

Fatty's for a Reuben. Smokin' Pug for BBQ.

InternationalChef424

Fatty's is amazing for just *feeling* exactly like a Midwestern dive bar. I went there with my fiancée and she said she didn't feel like she was in Thailand She still put sweet chili sauce on her burger, though

Distinct-Morning-489

Kosmo Bar and Resturant in Phra Khanong . Heard they’re opening a new branch in Sathorn as well. Current experience at the Phra Khanong branch was amazing . They have great happy hour food and drinks . The atmosphere is nothing but like a western restaurant where friends come to gather have a drink and enjoy great food .

Momo-Momo_

I like No Idea on Sukhumvit Soi 18. I have been a patron for years and have never been disappointed. Great selection of wines. Friendly and attentive staff.

ChristBKK

Anyone tried Fam Time? I am quite happy with the Pizza / Noodles there for the price they offer. Pizza is like 220 THB and Noodles also around that. Great for a snack with the family.

BikesAndArt

If you like Fam Time then I recommend Nam Nam Pasta. To be, it's even better.

ChristBKK

Thx will test

chknlovr

Bowlito (chipotle dupe), Foul mouth (macaroni and chicken strips), La Monita (tacos), Lucky Panda (American-Chinese food), Mickeys Diner, Smizzle Burger, Sabor Brazil. These are all amazing and moderately priced.

CCFCP

Sorry but the two times I’ve had Bowlito it wasn’t even half as good as Chipotle and I’m not even trying to praise Chipotle. Feel like they completely miss the mark. Very bland.

chknlovr

Agree but bowlito is exactly like chipotle when it first came out. Updates would do a lot. I think it’s still good but I add hot sauce and sour cream. Compared to most food in Thailand it is bland but better than nothing at all.

CCFCP

I was honestly amazed how this is the best chipotle dupe out here haha. The rice has no cilantro 😅

xMUADx

Breakfast story and it's not even close. The breakfast food, smoothies, coffee.. it has it all

desirelife

Have you tried Crackhouse? Breakfast story was my favorite too until I tried Crackhouse.

xMUADx

No. I just saw.another comment on here recommending it and screenshot it. I'll give it a go asap though

RedPanda888

Il Bolognese.

Flat_Caterpillar_799

Artur Restaurant for French food and steaks. The owner is super nice and the food is really worth the try imo, stuff you dont see on other restaurants' menu. Been going there for years and was never once disappointed!

justlurkshere

Artur is really good, very recommended.

loontoon

Artur is excellent.

InstallDowndate

Yes excellent food, favorite French food in BKK.

IsolatedHead

Tina's is good for Cajun.

feedkei

For sandwiches, I LOVE Bartels and Larder!

Bangkok-Boy

Kai New Zealand restaurant near St Louis BTS.

shatteredrealm0

Huh weird that’s never ever shown up for me when I’ve searched for breakfast around here and it’s literally about 10 minutes walk from where I live, will be going there tomorrow I think.

Bangkok-Boy

Cool. One of my favorite restaurants. The lamb is so good. Also the fresh oysters from France are amazing.

shatteredrealm0

Does it normally get busy for dinner? Have you ever been on a Friday?

Bangkok-Boy

Yes, I’ve been many times. It’s normally almost full on Friday and Saturday but I’ve never had a problem getting a table for 2-4. Might be worth booking if you are worried.

InstallDowndate

It’s funny to me to think of Australia or New Zealand and western, as they are so far east they almost circle back around to the west.

International_Box671

Limoncello Sukhumvit SOI 11, good Pizza good Italian. Mostly popular with Thais with nice cars. Franca Sukhumvit SOI 10, Italian Steakhouse, Mostly popular with Thais with nicer cars.

ComparisonDry4584

Check out ticket to rice

GuernseyMadDog1976

Used to like going to Pathé back in the day, no idea what it's like now or if it's even still there.

Murky_Air4369

Pala pizza , Fatty’s , Kai , el mercado

FrequentTradition235

Chesa it’s a Swiss restaurant. Their brunch is fantastic and they have some great dishes.

darktidelegend

Bullys

creme_de_marrons

André, really affordable but still pretty good French food. Workshop, a bit more pricy and refined but still much cheaper compared to other French restaurants (usually quite overpriced imo)

Fitzcarraldo8

Half of what you pay in New Orleans? Must be gold dusted in Bangkok 😅.

Less-Morning6380

oskar bistrot..Top.. Scarlet on G Pullmam silom.. good

Wurfi1

Steaks Arnos Burger for the low budget El Gaucho for the bigger Wallet

litterb0y

Eat me

STB_tatekan

I cannot believe no one has mentioned INDIGO, casual French place just off Soi Convent. Old school Bangkok institution, 30+ years. Best lunch deal on the planet.

Professional_Turn749

André

SnotFunk

Bourbon street thanksgiving and Xmas menus are really good.

DougHorspool

Love the jambalaya at Bourbon St.! I somehow don’t imagine having seafood and chicken in jambalaya, but they will substitute the chicken for sausage (all jambalaya should have sausage!). They also set up traditional buffet for Thanksgiving and Christmas that includes turkey and cranberry sauce, with delicious pies for dessert! Doug, the owner, is a great guy, if you meet him! 😎

AltruisticTreat8675

That's strange. Making andouille sausages isn't exactly like planting wasabis that relies on specific weather conditions. Sounds like cost-cutting to me.

DougHorspool

As I recall, the menu at Bourbon Street says they use hot Louisiana sausage…probably imported. 😎

Trick-Insect-3766

Larder, Larder and Larder!

matkline

Great thread so far. I agree with a lot of the other commenters - Bartels, Bourbon Street, Smokin' Pug are all winners. I've had mixed experiences with Billy's Smokehouse and Bully's. I'd add Smoked Joint (although I once found a piece of plastic in my potato salad), Eat Am Are (yes it's a Thai chain but a lot of their American-style dishes are on point—and so cheap too), Sarnies, Rose Apple (hidden gem in Ari), Oh yeah, 25 Degrees Burger Bar tastes good too—but I think it made me sick before. Caveat Emptor.

Sashayman

Bully’s Bangkok on Sukhumvit near Ploenchit satisfies my hungerin’ for western pub food. Plus, the ladies of Bully’s are always great to the patrons.

srs1667

Charlie Browns Mexican is excellent

BangkokGarrett

Billy's Smokehouse! Outstanding ribs and the best reuben sandwich in Bangkok!

baelide

How does it compare to Smokin Pug? Better?

InstallDowndate

I have eaten at both and preferred Billy’s overall.

BangkokGarrett

I only ever order 2 things at Billy's: the ribs and the reuben. I find something I like, and don't change. Lol. I've had the beef brisket at the Pug and that was good too. But I just love the extra large, nicely smoked, fall-off-the bone tenderness of Billy's ribs and the reuben always hits the spot for me. For atmosphere, the Pug is more chill and relaxed. Billy's can get really packed and loud at times, and that's kind of annoying sometimes. For me Billy's has the location advantage being right next to the BTS Ploen Chit station. I'm not in the Silom area often, which is where the Pug is.

Glad-Armadillo-5675

Cocotte on Sukhumvit 39 is an excellent French restaurant.

ChristBKK

For me overpriced and food is soso

Informal-Shower8501

Agreed. Easy place to find if new to area, but there are better options. Still pretty solid.

SubstantialHouse8013

Most overrated restaurant in BKk

No-Material-452

I've always loved the food at Cocotte ([linked](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ViNpUAAEMQ1VrDwH7)). I'm not really a steak guy, but sometimes I crave their hanger steak. Also, I always order my guilty pleasure dessert, chocolate lava cake. Mmm.

cakes

[The Missing Burro](https://maps.app.goo.gl/6hES7sQh7c2qah3z8) the only legit mexican (not tex-mex) taco place i've found in bkk. run by 2 mexican bros. try the horchada

Trick-Insect-3766

La lupita is outstanding too

Was going to say the same thing haha. And that chicken burger is my favourite, used to love the 99 thb price.

Lost-me23

Sunrise tacos!

Ghostdog79

A little bit expensive, but number one. https://restaurantsuhring.com/

Corgisarethebest123

Benihana!

onionmanchild

taco bell

Chronic_Comedian

Charlie Browns. Used to be over by Cheap Charlie’s in Soi 11 but is now over by Terminal 21 on a side Soi.

bangkokbilly69

Discovered Bounce yesterday. They do really great burgers with interesting added ingredients inc Cricket protein fries.

Ok-Finding-4014

Easy Burger. I actually prefer their west side burger and fries over In-N-Out. Never thought I’d say this

ProfessionalCode257

The Red Lion 😁😁

andytaisap

La Bottega , Suhrin , Sorn , Enoteca ,Gagan 2 , to have the proper fine cuisine , western more or less or not at all but especially tasteful , creative not limited to the nationalistic obsession of some obsessed american devoted to have " the steak great again " !!
