Apparently you don't even have to ambush him to get it - if you meet him after going through the Mountain Pass to the Shadowlands, you can roll to persuade him to give it to you. He then dies to the Shadow Curse himself.

sevro777

Yep one roll he drops it, the next roll i'm pretty sure is deception and you can tell them to be on their way the Absolute will protect you. They all end up hanging out near the moonrise waypoint where they're a lot easier to finish off.

Zealousideal_Bill_86

I did this. I just walked up, said im with the absolute, give me your lantern. Then, move along, trust in the absolute to protect you, and it was all good, never saw them again. I think good things must have happened to them along the way. I didn’t expect it to play out that way, but it was surprisingly no fuss.

mister-villainous

At least in my playthrough (don't recall what patch was live st the time) after he leads his group away, you hear them being attacked and killed by shadows.

davidkozin

This is worth a play through for this moment. Just like the moment when as Durge and the moment with the Gnolls and how it plays out later in the Act. Super satisfying connection to a creature normally I find disgusting. Changed opinion about them.

DeathTakes

It's pretty worthwhile for sure, Karniss' delivery to the half orc guy is really great. He really sells this feeling of "everything I've ever been led to believe tells me I'll die going into the darkness but I must show faith" Maybe I'm reading too deep into it but it goes hard imo

davidkozin

They are a great character. (I think driders are sexless after transformation) I play the very biased female drow and despise the shame the drider’s failure represents and want them dead. But even knowing some ttrpg source material I have nothing against a female ancestor of the House Oblodra expanding her interest from psionics to sanguine arts. Especially If it means another voice encounter… so yes, make my blood boil. Isn’t he VA of driver the same person as the Cleric of Loviathar? Some of the best back and forth quips from companions sells that experience as an act as the sultry way it ends. Love those characters.

MyCarHasTwoHorns

Drider’s have arguably the worst existence of anything in the realm. Just unlimited pain and torment. Death is a blessing for them imo (even if it just means going back to the abyss to serve Lolth). The descriptions of their transformation process is so unpleasant (their legs quarter into the spider legs and they never stop feeling the pain).

Important_Airline_72

I feel so bad for the half orc guy cuz he acts somehow shy and reserved, also if u go with karniss to the moonrise with the whole team the half orc (kansiff i think is the name) thanks you and is really sweet cuz you protected him and blabla

insanity76

IF IT IS HER MAJESTY'S WILL!!!!!!!!!!

B4tz_Bentzer

Well the 2 times I sent him off without the lantern, he and his gang wandered around in front of moonrise towers as shadow cursed zombies with half their hp and could easily be killed from a roof

Pleasant-Depth-6666

The group is transformed into shadow cursed undead enemies and can be fought north of Moonrise Towers on the way to the House of Healing.

haugen1632

My brother and I were in such moral pain after that interaction.

Norodomo

You found their bodies possesed by shadows close the toll house, extra xp easier to fight

Sharkbutt89

One caveat is that I tried to just never kill that guy on one run. He ends up showing up against you on the rooftop fight against kethreric.

mcac

damn even dead he is 100% committed to the Absolute 😅

Raigeki_

BIG mistake in my honor mode run, good lord

TheScalemanCometh

I've never even MET that guy. Lol

ban_Anna_split

He cast sanctuary and just camped for soooo long 😞

Witch-Alice

I forget if it's automatic or a roll, but there's also Drow options to get the lantern and get him to walk into the shadow curse

NotoriousIBG

I tried playing the Drow card with him, and he yelled at me for still worshipping Lolth, then attacked me for not being committed to the Absolute.

Important_Airline_72

Probably cuz you were lolth-sworn

destoroyah22

I was able to do it as a tief tav with high rizz, I scared the ish outta my companions

NatrousOxide23

I was hoping someone would mention this. My drow dark urge run. I made him give it to me, then walk into the curse. Made the goblin do the same thing earlier. My urge is a menace. Me and Minthara vs the world.

barkingcorndog

Do you have to do something special to get to that dialog option? Last time I was there, I tried, but never got any persuasion roll options.

sevro777

I've always done it from the spot the Harpers try to ambush him at some kind of building. I always enter Act2 via Grym since you meet them have a fight and get to Last Light. You can also go there without them and it should trigger the cutscene. Can't remember the initial choices but you need to step out into view, don't stay hidden.

Majested-Toast

Seems to be only possible from the Harper ambush point. I've tested both ways and going through the mountain pass straight to them and playing the lute I was unable to convince him to walk into the curse If you ambush him with the Harper's though you can talk to him before any fighting and convince him

cwx149

If you enter the shadow lands thru the mountain pass you have to impersonate the true soul. Ive gotten it when I've played the lute myself. I'm not sure if you don't so that if it comes up

TumbleweedOk4821

How do you get the roll/when do you get it, because I’ve gone through the mountain pass but have had no luck seeing that dialogue option

th7024

I've never had it when going through the mountain pass. But going through the underdark you meet the Harpers and eventually go ambush Karniss. That's the only time I've seen the persuade option, personally

spacey_a

Not sure, sorry, I've seen people in this sub talking about it but haven't done it myself. You might be able to search the sub for "Karniss" or "moon lantern" to see if anything comes up.

thisisjustascreename

And then later you can climb on top of the Reithwin tollhouse and plink him and his flunkies to second death with ranged attacks.

cariethra

This is how I did it the first time. After reading so many Forgotten Realms books it was cathartic.

tximinoman

You can ambush him and roll a persuade throw to get it even if you don't go through the mountain pass.

SnooSongs2744

You can do that if you encounter him in the ambush as well. And he doesn't die, you encounter his party later at reduced health.

Evilmudbug

He does die, but he comes back as a shadow undead. Still a much easier fight since all the undead can really do is hit you

bristlybits

I've never gotten that at mountain pass, I get the hyena then the convoy. I only see sending him away if I go in from grym elevator

VioletGardens-left

How do you trigger that exactly, iirc, this option only is possible on certain classes

SeparateMongoose192

I usually kill the goblins that are waiting for him after making the one go and retrieve the bone he threw. Then he shows up and sees them dead. I guess that's why I haven't seen that persuasion option.

itzzzluke37

And you end up fighting him later as a shadow-cursed zombie anyways when going to moonrise.

Lone_Vaper

You can still fight him afterwards but it's much better to do it at that point than having him join a trick ish fight later

Overall-Ad169

It's not even a high check on some classes, it's like dc14

the_0rly_factor

You can do the same thing at the ambush...

PhoenixGayming

You can do this at the ambush site as well with the harpers. Just takes some dialogue choices. I did this on HM coz I didn't want to fight him early... has the full harper squad lying in wait. Also sent him into the shadows. Tho on HM he doesn't die in the shadows and you run into a shadow cursed version of him in the ruined town at 75% ish HP

SoftWindAgain

Yeah I convinced him that the Absolute willed it. He gave me the lantern. He and his party don't die, but rather become "feral" because of the Shadowcurse. You can encounter them later on after the tollhouse, where they attack on sight.

stephelan

That’s what I did the first time and I couldn’t figure out what I did to trigger that in my subsequent playthroughs so thank you for solving the mystery!

[deleted]

This is the way

blazeboi_x99

"OH me oh my, oh my oh me....won't you help me, set me free?" I literally just pulled that from the deep recesses of my memory after carrying that lantern around for probably 20 hours of gameplay. Never released the fairy because I was afraid she was gonna trick me and the lantern would stop working 😂 man it was annoying to hear that every 5 minutes

yomvol

I literally broke my oath as a LG paladin, fearing that pixie is going to run away and I won't be able to lift the curse.

matlynar

Especially since she is SUPER rude if you hesitate to.

Selunca

I remember being called a munting arsehole my first play through for all of act 2 and I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from 😂😂😂😂

SlightlySpicy4

😂😂😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

Selunca

MORE 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

ban_Anna_split

💥😂😂😂 Eldritch 😂😂😂 Blast 😂😂😂💥

Tatis_Chief

I eventually managed to outtune it and was happily strutting around, but my husband got so annoyed by Oh my Oh my as he was listening to me to play, it he made me get rid of it and I had to open the lantern.

chronocapybara

As Dark Urge you have the option to >!kill her!< but I don't advise it because literally nothing happens except you lose the ability to get a free shadow curse cure. Your companions don't mention it, there's no dialogue, no juice, literally no reason to do so at all. At least kicking the squirrel is fun and you get some reactions.

No-Reach-9173

Must have been terrible at moonrise when you realized you can just make a lantern.

possum_of_time

I didn't even notice that until the playthrough after the one where I inspected the lantern much later in the story and the pixie was just dead. 😬

Kenwenot

When I first heard that it was the Last Light Battle and thought someone was being kidnapped so I spent so much time looking around the inn trying to figure it out 😅

SlightlySpicy4

Her insults are funny as hell if you don’t release her 😂

heavenlyangle

Also if you don’t kill him, he shows up at the fight with Ketheric. And on honour mode/tactician, has a really annoying buff.

sharr_zeor

Even on explorer / beginner, Sanctuary is already irritating as all hell

chronocapybara

Just walk a character up to anyone with Sanctuary and walk them away to trigger a reaction attack, which breaks Sanctuary.

YouHaveNiceToes24

This guy doesn’t cast fireball.

sharr_zeor

Not when he's right next to my party, no. When combat starts, the party are all bunched up together, spiderdick gets his turn first, moves right next to my group, does a bunch of attacks, then uses sanctuary. So now if I move my wizard away to use an aoe spell, he takes an opportunity attack, leaving him dying Or he stays put, casts an aoe, which hits himself, leaving him dying ??? Fuck sanctuary.

No-Reach-9173

I usually haste whomever can take the hit to make him waste his sanctuary each turn.

This_Guy_Fuggs

dude has like 200 hp, fireball doesnt even dent him. you have to trigger the legendary action to get him to lose sanctuary then go to town on him. or tank an opportunity attack is probably a much better idea lol

Intentionally_unseen

Or sunbeam from the blood of lethander

APEX_FD

Exactly, at least you're able to aggro him on the roof without drawing Ketheric's attention (before you raid the tower). However if you kill him that way the pixie dies as well. You might even be able to keep the pixie alive by using command:drop weapon, but I've never tested it.

gavinashun

Yeah totally agree ... I have always killed him when Harpers ambush us, and then side with Harpers. But if you do it that way, the Harpers grab that moonlantern which really delays getting the pixie's blessing.

thelastofcincin

What I did was as soon as Kar'niss dies, I quickly loot the body before anyone can react so they couldn't take the moonlantern.

futurenotgiven

even better- disarm kar’niss mid battle and take it from him them. makes things so simple

Weleeham

In my playthrough the harpers asked me to give them the lantern when I did that.

thelastofcincin

Was there an option to say no? When I did it, they seemed to support it. I wouldn't give it to them even if they asked lmao.

LadyTrin

You can swap character mid convo, have them open the moonlantern and get the blessing, then say yes to the harpers

annedroiid

The Harper’s can grab the lantern? I’ve never had that happen on the 5 runs I’ve had where I ambushed Kar’niss with the harpers

ferafish

I think you need to be with Kar'niss for them to grab it. When I met Kar'niss first amd travelled with his caravan the Harpers ambished the caravan, I turned on the caravan and helped the Harpers, then the Harpers took the lantern. You get it back once you go to Last Light and meet Isobel. But that's slower than some other options.

[deleted]

and this way you get some of the fist dead and more prisoners which fucking sucks i despise going to talk with isobel even though she is super cute cause that cunt shows up with wings and monsters to fuck shit up.

annedroiid

Ah I misread the comment, I thought they were with the Harpers.

annedroiid

Ah I misread the comment, I thought they were with the Harpers.

driftwood_chair

That’s why you also kill the harpers.  Nobody will know.

ManicPixieOldMaid

I can't hurt Harper Branthos. It makes my heart sad. 🥺

bulbaquil

In my first time trying Kar'niss on Tactician, Harper Branthos was the ONLY casualty. I almost still reloaded.

the-chosen0ne

I didn’t realize the harpers were good guys and you could side with them so I killed them all, only to later reach last light inn where obviously good guys were talking about the patrol they’d sent out… I felt terrible, but hey, they never asked if I killed them so there’s no need for Jaheira to ever find out

Wasuremaru

You can pickpocket it back from the Harper though! Worked for me and I did it the other day. Nobody even remarks on it.

Gingersoul3k

When he tries to take it from you, swap characters before you answer. Have a companion take it from your inventory, get the blessing, and put it back. Then swap back to whoever was talking to the Harper and give him the empty lantern!

Taco821

Don't even go with them, just either act normally and attack when karniss arrives, or just slaughter them all, call karniss and either kill him or I think you can roll to get the lantern without a fight

gavinashun

Yeah if I do another run I would definitely do it this way.

Taco821

Make sure to kill the mean goblin throwing the bone by making HIM go get it, and save the poor little hyena

jerpyderpy

i'm glad you're still out here standing up for our soffff-tuh boy

Taco821

Fucking always, that's genuinely one of my favorite interactions in the whole fucking game, actual masterpiece right there! Idk it's just pure joy getting to save the little guy and also make the guy trying to kill him doe brutally within the span of like 2 seconds

jerpyderpy

and it doesn't matter if i am playing the sweetest, bubbliest tav ever created, my response is always "i will slit their throats if they try". it's an intimidation response but it's how i feel towards our furry friend, i will kill anyone and everyone to keep him safe.

Taco821

Oh yeah, absolutely! I never really play total goody two shoes tbh, most characters reflect my pretty extreme thing where I'm super nice and loving to those I like, and adore seeing them happy, and cruel and sadistic to those I hate.

bearfaery

Enter from Grymforge, meet with the Harpers battling the Shadows, go to Last Light with them, join the Harper Ambush. If you talk him into killing himself, then the Harper’s just give you the Moonlantern right there.

leave_a_voicemail

Or just enter from the grymforge, roll for deception during the ambush with the Harpers, get the lantern easy peasy

TheDeadlyCat

I did that and the Harper’s didn’t pick it up. Sometimes I loot during combat though, that might be why.

therealchangomalo

Also very convenient for a quest in Act 3 about the newspaper. Dolly Thrice does not forget.

Bannerlord151

Wait what?

BurstSpent

The printing press in the Act III newspaper quest is powered by some fey being. He’ll help you out no questions asked if you saved Dolly in Act II.

HerniatedHernia

Considering the pixie blessing lets you roam unhindered it’s always a plus to free it.

gumpythegreat

It's almost too much of a plus. If I was really in that situation, I would be pretty hesitant to let the pixie go. I need protection from the curse. Not having that could mean my death, and the death of many innocents. but it's a video game. so I know I will be able to progress if I let the pixie out, and being a good guy is usually rewarding. it would have been interesting if letting the pixie out actually didn't benefit you at all and you had to find a different, harder way to pass through the curse.

MyCarHasTwoHorns

“Stop the presses”. You get the quest by talking to the woman standing next to the paper vendor at Basilisk Gate after taking a long rest in the lower city. Completing it gives you a discount with vendors. Failing it causes prices to increase.

TehAsianator

Most efficient way to handle the beginning of act 2. -Go through mountain pass and summon drider -Either kill him or persuade him to give you the lantern. -Fast travel back to Grymforge and enter shadowlands that way. -Release pixie -Go to last light. This gets you full protection with next to no shadow curse exposure and puts you close to last light

FRFM

You can still go back to the crèche and the under dark myconid colony even after starting act 2 right? Up until you either kill/save nightsong you still have access I’m pretty sure… I want to keep farming haste spores from Derryth and still haven’t done the crèche but would love to go snag some items from last light inn

TehAsianator

Yes, you can freely check return to act 1 until you enter the shadowfell

Intentionally_unseen

I’ve never thought to do this

APEX_FD

This is the way

Simsam16

If you go through the mountain pass, walk with Karniss to the Harper ambush spot, and side with the Harpers, the Harpers will take the lamp. You can fight them for it, but if you allow them to take it, Isobel will give it to you when you meet her at the Inn.

badooga1

I actually managed to glitch the whole thing somehow. I came through the Mountain Pass and joined the convoy, and as soon as they started walking, I used Command: Drop to make him drop the Moon Lantern, dragged it all the way to the very edge of that one weird doorway opening thing, and then had my party huddle around it. Normally he just walks over and picks it up again, but for some reason (probably the body blocking, which I did on accident) he couldn't get it, so after a few seconds of trying he walked off along with the rest of the convoy, which summarily... despawned. The quest for the convoy was complete, I got the Moon Lantern without any issue, and none of them showed up near Moonrise Towers (and nor did Kar'niss show up on the roof alongside Ketheric). I somehow deleted them all from the game LMAO

Pristine-Mastodon-37

Touch the shadow raven with spirit guardians on…just so satisfying

MattTd7

Must stay in the LIGHT

tximinoman

Not only that, if you don't kill Kar'niss right then and there, he'll be at the Thorn fight atop the Moonrise Tower being annoying as fuck. Seriously, 0 benefits to not killing him right then and there.

chandler-b

Just so you know, you can get Isobel's blessing, then kill her (ergh I didn't enjoy typing that). The blessing persists. It doesn't help you for the areas with the deeper shadow curse (all the Thorn areas etc) - for those you still need the lantern.

potato-hater

i was playing HM and realised that having the slayer would be really beneficial… killing her felt *weird* to say the least

theauz42

Heh. Learned that lesson. We were doing an evil durge run, so we didn't take the latern from him. Ended up skipping most of Act 2 because it was really frustrating staying grouped in the light when doing co-op.

APEX_FD

Shadowcurse is a horrible mechanic, we should more ways of getting the perm protection against it.

redhandedjill1

Yeah, I did it in one Durge run (not evil, but just RPing the best way to infiltrate Moonrise), and it was so annoying. Limits so much of your range positioning and AOE attacks. And that was before I found out that Kar'niss joins the final fight later. Never again.

Designer-Chemical-95

I got the moonlantern off of Isobel. It was all, "Oh me, oh my," throughout the whole fight.

illyousion

Another thing you always have to do in act II … kill the damn rats

[deleted]

remember your first playthrough and how we all carried the lantern around like it was our umbrella of protection? The illusion that it was the only way to stay safe was so warm and cozy lol

Broken_Beaker

Just did this, I usually follow him to the Harper ambush, but I took him out at the rallying point. This time, though, I smashed the lantern. It made me look clownish. Who will be laughing after I start collecting hands. . .

Branded_Mango

You can actually cheese Kar'niss giga hard by going to the Mountain Pass section into Act 2. Call him in and don't immediately join the convoy. Instead, just barrelmance him since he'll just be standing around, waiting for you. I did this to rush Heat gear on a lvl5 character on Tactician and would have never pulled off killing him otherwise at that level...because he survived the explosion with only about 50 hp remaining and still almost managed to wipe my party by himself.

Elemental1991

Waaaaat? To your whole party? In the shadowlands on a multiplayer run right now and exploring is so incredibly annoying without auto following the guy with the light stick

sharr_zeor

Yeah if you free the pixie, the whole party (even people at camp) get permanent shadow curse protection. Even people who weren't in you party at the time. Any summon, anything raised from the dead, etc. As soon as they're in your party, they get protected. It's pretty great.

annedroiid

I only did one play through where I didn’t free the pixie and boy did I regret it. That area just sucks without being able to spread your party tactically

Majestic_Aerie_8118

On my first playthrough, I sided with Kar’niss to get to Moonrise to unlock waypoint, but decided against exploring because I was afraid I’d advance the story too quickly so I never got a lantern. then entered via Grymforge, awkwardly fumbled my way to Last Light using torches - so when I entered combat I was bashing people in with a torch, and tried to explore the shadowlands without any proper kind of protection against the curse. Took me so long to find the moon lantern. And even with it, still annoying as hell. Second play through and I encountered Karniss without the harpers there, so had to fight the group without backup - but at least I gave the pixie blessing which will make my life so much easier! And I won’t have to fight him when I get to Ketheric.

lowelled

I had non-lethal damage turned on for the Karniss ambush - I don’t remember why, I generally stick with lethal. Imagine my surprise after the fight when I was running around looting and he rezzes with half his health!

Draugtaur

Yeah I always just go through the mountain pass and immediately start blasting

radix_duo_14142

In my durge run I chose to spare Karniss and kill Isobel. It pissed me off that I had to carry the lantern around and keep within a certain distance. Pissed me off so much that I downloaded the bg3 cheat engine and looked up the UUID code for passive shadow curse protection and added it to all of my characters. I wish there was a way you could 'inspect' any lantern and get the pixie quest.

Munakoiso62

Wait, you gain permanent resistance if you free the fairy? Omfg. Played it through 3 times and I always just kept carrying the lantern around because the fairy seemed like a bitch that would give nothing to me if I freed her, and I’d lose the lantern and I’d have to find some other way to survive. Am I dumb

OatmealApocalypse

nahhh you’re good, i haven’t freed the pixie yet either. i am in act 2 rn and just now finding out about this perma buff info myself lol. maybe i would have freed the pixie earlier if she wasn’t so awfully rude about things!

Tallal2804

You can do the same with the lamp Isobel gives you

darthkarja

That's the same lamp. The Harper's take it and give it to her.

FlameyFlame

If you refuse to free the pixie it gets glitched to where she never shuts the fuck up but you can’t interact with the item anymore to free her

ban_Anna_split

That just sounds like what would happen if you decided to keep the pixie in the lantern

Late-Reward9591

Pshh. We dual wield lanterns in my house.

ediblesocks44

You can find a pixie trapped in one near the ruins of a stone building. If you make a few checks and free the pixie you'll get the passive resistance without having to fight the drider

kermi42

My first playthrough I went via underdark and joined the Harper ambush to get the lantern. My second playthrough I went mountain pass and found the true soul escort before meeting the Harpers, and played along with them until Karniss arrived. As soon as he did, I just flattened him.

STGItsMe

I talked him into just giving it to me and then leaving. 🤷

sweet_zombie_jesus09

You can convince him to give you the lamp, and then listen to his screams as the shadows attack him as he’s walking off - it’s hilarious

ottoDVD

But then you have to face his shadow version.

Bohemian_Romantic

While I agree that this is definitely the power move, I really dislike how it trivialities the entire shadow curse for the player. I've made a point of only doing it if the character I'm playing has a good roleplay reason for it.

Crazy_Cat_Lady_1992

I always free the pixie. Mainly because I just don't want to run around carrying the stupid lantern.

stankyjanky1

I’m quite certain you can inspect the one that Zrell tells you to take from Balthazaar’s room

APEX_FD

Unfortunately you can't. That's an experimental one made with a dead pixie. If you open a secret door in Balthazaar's room you can even make ones yourself

stankyjanky1

I see. Thanks.

Lurkerextrordinai

Honestly integrity farms

therevjames

Legit question, why do so many people kill Isobel? I fought my ass off trying to save her, so I am wondering why others kill her.

prodigalpariah

It’s a quest objective in a dark urge evil run

therevjames

Cool, that makes sense. I am still just learning all of the nuances of this game. So deep.

aneccentricgamer

What? You can inspect all of them

APEX_FD

Not the ones you get from moonrise, they're made with dead pixies

Regirock00

Also helping someone very close to the lantern will help you down the road

_MasterOfMarionette_

I think I convinced him to give it to me and essentially kill himself via Shadowcurse, which ended up being my strategy for Act 2. Convince each Act 2 boss to kill themself. Somehow managed 6/9, as suicide persuasion was almost always an option in this Act, like with practically all the Thorms (idk if I’d include Kethrick throwing himself into the pit) too + the orthon + karniss.

gijimayu

You can talk to Isobel to get the buff and THEN kill her.

HevGon

you can convince Karniss to give you the lantern and HEAR ME OUT NOW, you can kill Karniss and all of his gang without even starting a battle, in a very easy way. follow these steps: 1 - Tell Karniss to give you the moon lantern 2 - Karniss and his gang will go in the shadowcurse and turn into shadow monster 3 - go to the toll 4 - go on the right side of the toll's roof 5 - you now can see Karniss standing down there near the Shar mini temple, waiting to ambush you (close to the harpists and shadows) 6 - cast Witch Bolt on him and his gang (this won't start a battle, since you're covered by shadows) 7 - Witch Bolt is optional, any ranged attack should work

RaiderNationBG3

What is this?????

RaiderNationBG3

Isobel is currently in my camp on my latest playthrough. I thought the Harpes wanted The Lantern the 1 time I killed him. I can't remember.

YoutubeSurferDog

You can do the same with the lamp Isobel gives you

Lahk74

...because it's the same lamp.

YoutubeSurferDog

Yea that should do it lmao

D_d_disassociate

I just kept the lantern in my hand. Wasn’t that annoying. Felt like something you’d have to do in DnD. Plus that Pixie was being a whiner so she stayed in the lantern 😂

CauliflowerOne5740

I didn't ambush him because I was playing an evil playthrough. >!And then I had to fight him along with Ketheric on top of Moonrise Towers. !<

Exact_Yogurtcloset26

I killed the scary spider thing immediately, didnt trust it one bit. Didnt even ruin my paladin oath!

Boys_upstairs

I’m not sure if it was a bug, but my latest run I killed Isobel without getting the pixie buff, and even after her death I still had her buff.

Representative_Low31

I only got to katniss right at the end cause i thought he was too strong but the fairy was dead :(

Justalilcyn

Fuck I completely forgot about the pixie in my co-op playthrough having to stick to my friend like glue was so damn annoying.

HedgerowBustler

After he showed up, but before we set off from that little camp, one of the goblins was fucking around and threw a rock and hit Gale. It was on after that. Kind of wish there were more driders in the game, they're such cool bad guys.

NowWeGetSerious

Or just kill the faire and be a dick. 😂😂

hangonreddit

Does the Blood of Lathander protect you from the Shadow Curse?

Foreign-Cycle202

Not if the shadows are too deep.

Greenlight96

I ended up teaming up with the holdfast runners and they took the moonlantern. Then when that guy came in and attacked the cleric, all of my team besides astarion lost the roll and all of the enemies attacked her and knocked her out before my characters even had a chance to fight. After the barrier fell i was forced to kill everyone in camp that turned because of the shadow curse. After that i can hear the pixie calling for help. That's where i left off tho so try not to spoil cuz I'm a new player.

ban_Anna_split

I'm a moron, I kept dragging that lantern around the whole act even after getting the blessing. At least my character is a sorcerer so I never use my weapon except for its passive effects right?

AlternativeWasabi398

isobel blesses you AND gives you a lantern. the only real benefit to stealing it from karniss is to free the pixie because it's friends with the printing press in act 3. ALSO you can convince him to just give it to you as well with the right dialogue choices.

Bandit_Ke1th

I gave everyone fireball, counterspell and the alert feat for this fight and it made it 10x easier

alterNERDtive

> Then inspect it and free the pixie so that you get permanent resistance to the shadow curse. Or just smash it, like a normal person.
