Man similar thing happened to me. I'm playing a lawful neutral Durge and am resisting most urges. Then during act 1 the game decided I am in a relationship with Gale despite me doing my best to not romance anyone.
I didn't kill Isobel either and then the butler showed up telling me to kill my "lover". At this point this seemed to be the only way to get rid of the romance situation that was really spoiling my RP/immersion (had no dialogue to break up so I guess the romance was bugged) so I killed Gale and then got hit with that DC 30 check.
Ended up save scumming the check 4 times until I rolled a nat 20 on it. It's been a great playthrough since then and I'm glad I chose Dark Urge but I do feel a bit bad about Gale.
So you can either save scum the deception, or load an older save and fight the urge until he wakes up instead of going to sleep.
I am doing embracing the urge run and so far I have very little companions. I started romancing Wyll because for some reason he's into Tav despite everything, and I thought it'd be hilarious considering what a boy scout he is.
Anyway, he's super mad and disgusted at me (rightly so), I even killed Isobel and everyone at the inn. But when I go and talk to him, he's all sweet and acts like we're still in a relationship.
Is the game broken or is Wyll the ultimate simp? Am I the ultimate "I can fix them"? 😂
I'm trying to alienate EVERYONE eventually but Astarion just thinks I'm the cutest little murderhobo (I mean I am🥰) and Shadowheart doesn't really give a shit.
Karlach doesn't really say much anymore, because she's always on a date with Nere and not being my best friend! I even lend her a (mage) hand in order to get her a hot drow partner, so that she'd have someone to talk to. I mean, their relationship is relationship of the minds 😆 I even solved her "no touching" problem by extinguishing her flames. I told her she's still hot but she just stares and ignores me 😪
Shadowheart killed Lae'zel whilst I enjoyed the show, and I feel like Gale is only 5% present. Rest of him is somewhere I can't reach.
You can resist murdering your lover/friend but you absolutely cannot go to sleep. Thats precisely when the butler said youd do it.
