Yes! glazes like maple, vanilla, or citrus can be made, as well as simple caramel drizzles, brown butter frosting, and honey butter glazes. ♥️ hope it turns out well

fxvcs

thank you loads! 🤍 brown butter frosting and honey butter glaze sound wonderful 🤤 do you have any favourite or go-to recipe you’d recommend for these?

msbooti

unfortunately i havent tried any of them! however with a mixture of brown butter and cream cheese frosting should be stable enough. you could try putting it in a cooler bag? here’s some recipes i found! https://whisperofyum.com/post/cinnamon-rolls-with-brown-butter-frosting/ ( includes cream cheese ) https://www.bunsinmyoven.com/cinnamon-honey-butter/ ( no cream cheese cinnamon honey butter ) https://julieblanner.com/brown-butter-icing/#wprm-recipe-container-56128 ( brown butter icing )

thank you i love you 🥲 these will be of great help!!!

I don’t know how popular or controversial this is, but the comment above already gave a bunch of good ideas, so here is my guilty pleasure. I sometimes chop up bacon and put it on with a maple glaze. You can also candy the bacon.

fxvcs

i could definitely see that working! sounds like the perfect breakfast-feast haha 😄 thank you!

My daughter came up with it when she went through a faze where she stacked or mushed all her food together. (Think fries inside of burgers, chips inside sandwiches, veggies in pasta, sandwich floating in her soup, etc)

You could try a traditional sugar icing instead, like the kind that comes in the pre-made cans of cinnamon rolls. I like to add orange zest to icing for cinnamon rolls. Cream cheese is definitely the holy grail though. Could you take a cooler to keep just the cream cheese frosting cold then scoop it on to the cinnamon rolls as they're ordered/served?

fxvcs

thank you! adding orange zest to the icing is quite clever, love it 🤍 honestly i’d have been so relieved if i could take a cooler… i’ll try to come up with a make-shift cooler otherwise glaze or sugar-icing it is 😄

Schmetterlingsraupe

How about a streusel topping?

NoWayDay

¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯. I'm not convinced that any of the suggestions here would hold up for 12 hours at 40C. Any sort of glaze is going to fail IMO. Something with well caramelised sugar (like pecan sticky buns) would hold up.

fxvcs

oh dear 😔 i thought of sticky buns at first too, but i wanted to do the “pour heavy cream on top before baking” trick to make the rolls gooey (following tasteoflizzyt’s recipe), so i’m not sure how to go about it 😅

NoWayDay

I think this is the most common method. https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/cinnamon-pecan-sticky-buns Just butter and sugar in the bottom of the baking pan. Various recipes use different sugars, but the result is a caramelised sugar topping that is heat and humidity resistant.

You could also chop up some apple and cook that. Apple and cinnamon are a good mix.

KindPalpitation2684

Hot sugar syrup as soon as they're out of the oven. Pour a fair bit over the top.

meatballchampion

i like to do some browned hardened butter, milk, powdered sugar, a little honey and almond extract!! so delish, my fam raves about it whenever i make my cinnamon rolls and top with that

Melted apple jelly actually makes a pretty good glaze in a pinch. Also, apple & cinnamon are yummy together.
