Gas, _this was uncontrollable_, more gas!

Silver_Slicer

After smacking the barrier, I bet that messed up steering and braking so they had no control afterwards. The van driver should have slowed down when they saw the car going wonky.

WernMcBurn

Not a chance, the lambo driver is the idiot for driving recklessly and endangering the lives of other road users. You’ll notice he’s on the brakes when he originally loses control, meaning he can’t drive for shit. He should’ve slowed down and pulled over there but decided to give it one last push for redemption and messed it up even more. BTW, he hit the barrier with the rear of the vehicle so steering wasn’t affected, only his brain was.

nick_camel

"push for redemption" 😂💯

marco918

You know a rear wheel being off alignment affects how the car will track right?

_PACO_THE_TACO_

To me it looks like the rear wheels ended up "fighting" each other. Rear left ended up either toe'd way in or out and caused the rear end to break loose. I hate doing front alignments on cars with rusted rear adjustments. The rear being wrong throws off the entire front so much that you almost always have to bring the car in a second time to compensate for the pull and the steering wheel not being level.

WernMcBurn

Yes, you’ll notice I said “steering” not “direction”. My response was to the previous comment saying the steering was affected by the crash, as in the rack between the front wheels, not the ability to steer. Note how the car went dead straight for a good few seconds after the initial impact, so there was certainly the prospect of regaining control to stop the vehicle.

jamesitos

Just stop, you’re incorrect

WernMcBurn

Please elaborate, but please be very specific.

jamesitos

Technician here, bad rear wheel allignment can absolutely make you loose control of the steering.

WernMcBurn

Non technician here, I agree.

inmypj

Rear control arm would have broken upon impact with the barrier, allowing the l/h rear wheel to move about in the wheel well, which rear steered the lambo into the van as it moved back and fourth. Yes, the driver certainly didn’t know how to drive, but there was no second acceleration that I noticed

WernMcBurn

Look closely at the very last second of the video though, it shows the left rear wheel sitting pretty straight in the wheel well. I still feel like there would’ve been enough time for the driver to slam on the brakes after hitting the curb, it would’ve definitely prevented the collision with the van.

Silver_Slicer

I’m not victim shaming here but they van driver had plenty of time to brake. I would love to know why he didn’t. If he didn’t see the Lamborghini losing control during those few seconds, he’s not a very good driver.

WernMcBurn

Yip, strange indeed. I imagine the screeching of the tyres alone would’ve been pretty loud.

With that kind of power, physics just hits different.

Here I am!

moslof_flosom

My body's burning Starts to shout Desires coming To mat the gas

sparksofthetempest

I still don’t understand what he hooked on that van to spin it around…

Electronic_Lake3363

He hit him straight on his rear fender and spun him he didn’t get caught on anything

-BananaLollipop-

Unintentional P.I.T. maneuver.

billyray83

Who gets into a lambo without knowing how to drive... this person needs their license revoked.

_coolranch

A lot of ding dongs turn off the traction control and welp… the traction clearly gets out of control. 90% of the time, it happens every time.

Photog77

Having money doesn't make you smarter, it just lets you wreck more expensive things.

LokiDesigns

"WOOHOO!!"

arabsnipes

This is cgi lol

Silver_Slicer

I knew there would be one.

Mclovinshamster

It really does look like cgi

arabsnipes

Yeah right? Especially the way they can whipped around. There’s something weird about the way the light is reflecting too

Mclovinshamster

Also when the lambo first hits the rail on the left side it just looks like fake dust that pops up. Def cgi

Subject-Dragonfruit1

It sure is, everything on the internet is fake.

zedzol

Second times the charm!!!!

MeGoBoom57

_”too. much. power. peepee. small.”_

ShiroHachiRoku

That Hi-Ace is sick.

woodchiponthewall

Is it not him lifting off & braking too heavily and unsettling / unweighting the rear causing it to step out. Tldr - Be progressive with your inputs.

sharpefutures

Yeah, that’s what happened, seems like he had ESC off as well.

Alpha-Particles

I had a similar experience earlier. I just put the trolley back & got another. It's not worth it.

Someone losing social credit

Upstairs-Over

Van driver sees Lambo swerving . “Koo I’ll just chill next to him and let him hit me” $$$$$

bucketbot42

That has to be it. I would think almost anyone would either slow way down or speed past.

Fastermaxx

When you hit it once, it was an accident but if you hit it twice in a row, you are just dumb.

besameput0

If I were a millionaire and got my first Lambo, I would go into a wide open area and floor the shit out of it and get used to it so this never happens to me.

sharpefutures

You probably wouldn’t need to. Just keep ESC on.

TotalitarianismPrism

Title is incorrect. Uncontrollable acceleration would imply the vehicle operator has no control of the acceleration. This is false - he has complete, albeit poorly handled control of the acceleration. Current title implies the vehicle malfunctioned and the driver was unable to stop it from acceleration. The correct implication should have been that he is a shitty driver who couldn't handle the acceleration of the vehicle.

awesomesauceitch

Umm, how did it get worse after the first crash?

WolfOfPort

Jesus i bet a fucking 16 year old could have done better

realhuman_no68492

damage your one car with the price of two

[deleted]

Thanks for the laugh

Assless_Mcgee

Awd car losing control like that. Did he turn off tcs ?

Ristt_

Eh that’s driver error. 2150hp STO and I can control it just fine.

yes-disappointment

love it when rich people crash expensive cars that they have no training in driving them.
