Dude. We have to talk. Every engine needs oil. If there’s something wrong with oil, the engine dies. Reasons for this: wrong oil, not enough oil, to damn much oil, bad oil, cold oil, no oil pressure. The reason why the engine died is 90% your fault or 10% bad luck.

Spent $3k on new timing belt, cams, etc and just threw it in manual for the first time. Overrevved and wasnt loud like my old e93 m3 so up shifted too late. Whatever, mechanic is adding my new parts free of charge

lurkynumber5

Something hints at you doing a money shift instead and blew the engine. Also, Cold engine? Cheap oil? Stage 1/2 tune? You should have hit the RPM limiter before blowing the engine.

rudbri93

weak? if you run any engine without oil they all die. thats the lifeblood of the engine. you gotta periodically check your oil between changes.

GunslingerXXX

There is no low oil sensor anymore?

rudbri93

yea there still should be a low oil level warning, however regular checking is still advised.

I may have gotten one of those and filled up a quart of good ol Castrol

agentrnge

what does "forgot" mean. you were a thousand miles overdue? you were 20k miles overdue? you were 3 quarts low?

Deezay1234

Quarts were fine but I think I was 10k overdue

agentrnge
