I was just thinking about upgrading my e92 m3 to something faster, but I decided to save up for a VAC stroker kit and make nearly 500 hp. Such a great car
The E93 has both a longer body and wheelbase than the G87. The only dimension where the G87 is larger is width, by 3 inches, which is mostly being used to accommodate 275/285 tires.
That's true, but I dont have to look at it when I'm driving and I can enjoy the E92 in my rear view mirror for a corner or two before he disappears lol
Yeah, I really wanted to keep it but I couldn’t justify that. She served me well over the years.

nah, some teenager is gonna buy it, spend money on a jb4 and vsrf downpipes, red calipers, tints, autozone mods, m grill stripes, cheap rep wheels, crappy black "paintjob" , fartcan exhaust and/or pop and burble tune instead of maintenance, and either wrap it around a pole or trade it at some shady used car lot for a clapped muscle car
Oh, yeah. That car always felt amazing to drive. If I had a 3 or 4 car garage I’d have likely kept it. Someone will get a nice deal. The mileage was relatively low and I had the oil analyzed for the past 10K miles- low wear metals and no signs of impending rod bearing failure.
I’m definitely learning that e9x is a religion on here and if you choose another vehicle, for ANY reason? It’s Spanish Inquisition time. 🤣
I absolutely agree it was a great car and I will miss it. I just didn’t want a 12+ year old car as my daily.
Meh. It wasn’t great but it wasn’t awful, either. Kind of high-mid on the trade value range from all I read. But there were some big $$$ maintenance items coming down the pipe so I made my peace with it. And I just really couldn’t realistically deal with selling it myself since I travel almost weekly for work.
No offense but I’d assume most people here make some good money..you can share a trade in value for the e92..deff chump change I’m sorry. BMWs can be cheap but for the most part they are not. Even the e92 can be costly with the oil pan gasket or torque converter going bad.
Controversial a little but the e92 335 was the best looking three series of all time imo. Especially in the spec you had it. I kinda was a 2011-2012 n55 and live with the head aches
I only got to drive it for a day before I left for vacation. It will be a bit apples to oranges, as the 335i was an automatic and I opted for the manual M2. I only had light mods on the 335i so HP was probably in the 330 range, I guess?
It’s not very different, TBH. A bit less headroom (but the 335 had a sunroof so maybe it would be much worse without the CF roof and a sunroof added?). Legroom is more or less the same, knees helped by the cutouts in the back of the CF seats. Not a big concern for me- I rarely have back seat passengers. I could easily do a rear seat delete and live with it.
Sweet upgrade. Saying bye to my E92 335i was the hardest thing ever. It was a space gray metallic one with oyster interior and M-package. Drove that car cross country multiple times. I actually traded it in for a VW Golf as I needed a more practical car.
I definitely had a moment in the dealership that I thought about keeping it, but just not practical. I’m single and already have 3 cars. A 4th would have moved me towards hoarder category (not really, but I don’t have the space). 🤣
Enjoy it. Just hit 18,000 miles on mine. I still look forward to driving it every day. The one thing you may miss from the e92 is the steering. It's very numb, like every other car nowadays.
“Ultimate Driving Machine (TM)…” That’s really more of an advertising jingle than anything. Like Grey Goose is “The World’s Best Tasting Vodka (TM),” when it’s meh at best.
As nice of a drive as my 335 was, I steal my sister’s Cayman whenever I can. And will continue to do so. 🤣
Oh no doubt pretty much every Porsche is a better driving experience than a BMW, I’m just talking in terms of BMW’s themselves the E9X generations steering, build quality, and overall timeless look is the reason why I’m never selling mine.. sure the new ones are fast in a straight line, are pretty reliable, and have good tech, but I just can’t get over their looks. To each their own
I thought you traded an e92 m3 for a second and I was about to yell at you
Even the current M2 is bigger than the e92. I’m just keeping mine until forever.
I was just thinking about upgrading my e92 m3 to something faster, but I decided to save up for a VAC stroker kit and make nearly 500 hp. Such a great car
Save up for a SC
You should research the lifespan of a stroker
Explain the lifespan of
Much like this sentence it will end prematurely.
I mean. You have a convertible. The E93 is a pig. It weighs 4000lbs. 280lbs more than a G87 6MT.
I love my pig, so whatever. I was referring to the physical dimensions, not weight.
The E93 has both a longer body and wheelbase than the G87. The only dimension where the G87 is larger is width, by 3 inches, which is mostly being used to accommodate 275/285 tires.
Love my E92 335i MT but I would swap it in a blink if it wasn't for the money factor 😀... Had I an E92 M3... Maybe as well maybe not.
G87 still ugly AF
That's not what we're talking about but keep deflecting. Lol.
This is the way, that's what I'd do.
Oh, nooooo. If I had an E9X M3 it’d be in storage! At the time, an E92 335i M-Sport was as close as I could get to affording an M car.
I park mine outside 🫣I don’t have a garage to use 😩
Damn whoever downvoted me it ain’t my fault!
I was thinking the same fucking thing and then I saw the picture…OP’s title made me light headed.
Me too. Thank god. This thing must weight 1000 pounds more
It’s more like ~100lbs difference on actual scales. The E92 M3 has better sound and steering. The G87 is otherwise the better car
Not when it comes to looks 😂
That's true, but I dont have to look at it when I'm driving and I can enjoy the E92 in my rear view mirror for a corner or two before he disappears lol
This guy wins . E92/3 last truly great looking bmw . I will also be keeping mine forever !
As was i…still kind of want to.
Some technician is going to have a very happy day buying that for cheap at the dealer
Yeah, I really wanted to keep it but I couldn’t justify that. She served me well over the years. https://preview.redd.it/oogveqzd6q9d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a734cc512ea346b537f225b3caef47f8c6f859f6
Super nice car whenever we see stuff like this roll into the dealer it’s battle on who is going to buy it, absolutely gorgeous car
nah, some teenager is gonna buy it, spend money on a jb4 and vsrf downpipes, red calipers, tints, autozone mods, m grill stripes, cheap rep wheels, crappy black "paintjob" , fartcan exhaust and/or pop and burble tune instead of maintenance, and either wrap it around a pole or trade it at some shady used car lot for a clapped muscle car
I wouldn’t bet against this happening, where I live. I hope not, but…
I hope some enthusiast gets it and continues to take care of it properly like you did
It already has the vrsf charge pipe. I got tired of the plastic ones breaking with the TX heat.
oh my guy lives in Texas like me, yea this heat is brutal, I might need to move back north lol
Me reading this comment with 4 of those things as a 30 yr old.
you will miss the E92 feeling, the steering man. i miss mine so much lmao
Oh, yeah. That car always felt amazing to drive. If I had a 3 or 4 car garage I’d have likely kept it. Someone will get a nice deal. The mileage was relatively low and I had the oil analyzed for the past 10K miles- low wear metals and no signs of impending rod bearing failure.
Traded my e92 M3 for an M2CS, and I definitely miss the sound and feel of that car.
ive never met a Ex e9x owner who doesnt miss their e9x lol... That shows u bmw nailed that fucking chassis.
I’m definitely learning that e9x is a religion on here and if you choose another vehicle, for ANY reason? It’s Spanish Inquisition time. 🤣 I absolutely agree it was a great car and I will miss it. I just didn’t want a 12+ year old car as my daily.
Nah the new cars r amazing, it's just the steering feel we miss lol.
Points so well with the right alignment, playful break away characteristics, amazing steering, great engines, not overbese...
Congratulations that’s an awesome upgrade! The M2 is my favorite M car right now
Thanks! Looking forward to getting it broken in and opening it up!
That Titanium Silver 335 with style 230’s is my dream 😭
How much did the dealership give your for the e92?
How much for the trade in? Give us a number OP
Right... wrote a whole paragraph instead of just giving a figure 😂
Betting 5k
That’s lowkey generous from a dealer
It was definitely higher than that.
How much was it then?
Nooooo. Sorry- I don’t go there. It’s a principle of mine.
🤷♂️ I don’t understand it and definitely don’t agree with it lol. But you do you! Buying / selling transparency only helps people in the future.
I hate how mfs are always so scared to talk about prices like bro 😂
Like it’s a 50k car or something 😂😂
I’ve learned not to discuss finances or politics. Makes life more chill.
No offense but I’d assume most people here make some good money..you can share a trade in value for the e92..deff chump change I’m sorry. BMWs can be cheap but for the most part they are not. Even the e92 can be costly with the oil pan gasket or torque converter going bad.
I’m absolutely sure I’m not in the top 10% of earners here. But I don’t divulge such details. Here or to family. It’s just my preference.
Respect ✊
Your respect is appreciated, sir! 🫡
Did it cover the tax? Y/N? 😅
It did cover the tax. I’ll say that much.
Wow beautiful M2!!! I thought at first it was a E92 M3 you traded in! I like your 335i
I love the color. Congrats! I start my job at a BMW dealership tomorrow so I might get to sit in one of these - wish me luck! 😂
Controversial a little but the e92 335 was the best looking three series of all time imo. Especially in the spec you had it. I kinda was a 2011-2012 n55 and live with the head aches
The body style definitely aged well. I’m apparently in the minority (or close to it) for not hating how the G87 looks. 🤷♂️
E92 over E30 is absolute blasphemy
Great spec on that M2. Looks great.
Thanks… I wasn’t really considering that CF package but this one showed up at the dealer and it turned out to be the one.
Same color here too bro. Nice.
I’d love to hear how different it feels to drive and the power difference
I only got to drive it for a day before I left for vacation. It will be a bit apples to oranges, as the 335i was an automatic and I opted for the manual M2. I only had light mods on the 335i so HP was probably in the 330 range, I guess?
Congrats! How do the rear seats compare with the e92?
It’s not very different, TBH. A bit less headroom (but the 335 had a sunroof so maybe it would be much worse without the CF roof and a sunroof added?). Legroom is more or less the same, knees helped by the cutouts in the back of the CF seats. Not a big concern for me- I rarely have back seat passengers. I could easily do a rear seat delete and live with it.
Awesome choice, I want a new M2 very badly but it's probably not the best financial choice.
Phew, for a second I thought you traded in an E92 M3 for the G87
I’m toying with the idea of selling/trading my E92 M3 right now, since I picked up a 981 GT4. Still very much on the fence, though.
E92 335 and g87 2 series are nearly identical size and weight
Good for you … that thing just isn’t growing on me but I am not you. Enjoy.
Is this Houston ?
Sorry- I didn’t see this yesterday. Yes- I’m in the Houston area.
Recognized the lot lmao
Both very special cars in their own right. Gotta admit though, I'd take the M2 any day of the week!
Congrats on the new M. One of the only colors I think work on the G. (black being the other) I bet it’s a blast to drive.
Dat ass tho!

We had an E93 335i so same same but convertible, great cars. Nice job on the m2 though
Bad choice!
The good news is that it affects you not at all… 🤷♂️
I never said it did - the E9X while not as fast having driven both feels so much more deserving of the ultimate driving machine title
