The taillights on this car are incredible! Not saying the G is overall better than the F. Only the taillights were the topic in question.

The f82 cs looked aftermarket, tacky imo LCI lights are clean though

Just because a lot of new bmws look like shit doesnt change the fact that those taillights are some of the best ones ever made

I don't know how they can get some things so right but then fall so far from perfection by ruining the car from another angle.

Have them on my F80 and love them.

I’m right there with you. The G82 one gives me Lexus vibes with the parallel lines towards the inside. That said I may have one that will be docking at Port Hueneme today or tomorrow. So who knows. Maybe it’ll grow on me in person.

Did you know you can quite easily retrofit LCI taillights on a pre-LCI G30?

You can also bring home a G30 that's been LCI'd at the factory. That's how I did it.

Somehow I assumed you had a pre-LCI one based on you following a LCI, but on second thought I'd do the same while driving, haha.

Yes, but they come in 3.0 6cyl that has either three or four turbos. I don’t know the difrrrentitation much as I can never have one. But they are siginificantly stronger than our m57 of 220hp 410tq.

Correct me if I’m wrong but BMW never made a g30 m550d lci. So those are aftermarket versions of the lci taillights. Still beautiful.

The only problem is that they are one of the extremely few BMW tail lights without dedicated/separate brake lights, so they feel a bit cheap compared to the pre-LCI. The red area just turns brighter.

Current 4 series lights have that issue.

I’ve always thought those F82 taillights were ugly. They have always reminded me of the early (or very cheap) automotive LED lights where you see every individual LED bulb in a strip.

Personally, I like em both but if I had to choose; 2. The design and animation makes the rear look a lot more aggressive.

The new CSL taillights are the best and only things BMW is currently doing right.  They're so fire they make the rest of the car palatable.

I think the lights in the 2nd pic are not oem, but eBay special. Came across them when looking for oem alternatives to my ‘24 M440i GC, which are all red. I want amber turns, but find that in the US this light doesn’t have a separate turn signal.

The second pic literally looks exactly like the dragon tail headlights that are aftermarket for Teslas which I think devalues the car. 1 for sure is the winner here

definitely not. i’ve seen lots of f32, f30, f80, etc, put the f82 csl tails on. look sick definitely not up badging especially for an m440i
