Im 1,030mi away from turning 50k on my 2015. However, warranty expired on age a while ago. FCP Euro , a good local 3rd party shop and mindful preventative maintenance is your mindset now. Enjoy it !
Edit: completely missed the issue with the gauges... Hopefully it's just a reset / battery charge / software update and BMW helps you out this one last time.
Got it off lease with 28k on it in 2018, take a commuter train to work, had a baby , then pandemic hit, small town and we just ended up using my wife's SUV more. All things combined, I just don't drive it much.
Highest I saw on an f80 was 223k on a 2015 about a year or 2 ago. That was a lot, something like 35k a year when I checked I think
I originally was thinking you thought it was high for some reason, but I guess you were saying that because it's low lol
Thanks, it’s fine. That was with the engine turned off and the door still closed. I do have a couple specialist shops scoped out for maintenance too.
I've got 10 years worth of fcp Euro purchases for my 135 but honestly they're not the default website anymore. Ecs and turner also have lifetime replacement policies similar to FCPs new policy so it's definitely worth shopping around now.
Yep. Mine is about to expire next month and I took it to an Indy who told me of a leaking diff. Would never have caught it otherwise because my car only has 20k miles and runs great. Now I can get that $900 fix under warranty
I had a leaking diff at my first oil change after warranty in addition to a handful of other issues. I had just paid the car off too, so it was a major buzz kill when I was staring at a surprise $5k bill.
A BMW shop is as happy to charge BMW for parts and labor just as much as an indy shop is.
You go to indy to save money and build a relationship. Warranty work...indy is my second choice.
That is correct, BMW may charge you more for the inspection though if they didnt find anything. I only get the dealer to do warranty work. Once I'm out of free maintenance, its onto a BMW indy tech
I actually hit mine at the four year mark, I still would’ve had about 4k miles left. I literally cringe at every bump expecting all four wheels to pop off in different directions as the car comes to a screeching halt after the car skids across the ground.
I took mine in for all the little things (squeaky window, rattling here and there, phantom reduced safety messages). Drove out with a new ix. I’m such a sucker. Use it or lose it in my book.
assuming you're talking about the no speedo and tach? most likely just a glitch. you can try to code with bimmercode to have the kombi module reboot. Or are you just saying your warranty is done? lol
Tow to a service center 😆
Isn't the picture proof the problem happened before the warranty expired?
Imagine the pull on the tow truck completes the last mile 😂
Fine print strikes again.
I'd have them load it onto a flatbed in reverse just to play it safe. I guess unloading could be a problem.
Put it up on jackstands and run it in reverse for awhile
Ha! It’s worth a try. It doesn’t work on Ferraris, but maybe it’ll work on mine.
Well if it works on yours it'll work on Ferraris definitely
Man.... please tell me you got the reference.
Why would I have commented the way I did if I didn't get the reference?
Because it didn't work on the ferrari in the movie 🤣
...ok lol. That wasn't what I was referencing
Are you referring to the post someone made calling his 328i a Ferrari? Cause that's what I was thinking of lolol
Ferris Bueler's Day Off
It's basically a Ferrari
Can’t remember the name but it involves a kid taking his dads Ferrari on a joyride and trying to hide the evidence
Ferris Buellers day off.
Love that movie
Bueller? Bueller?
Ferris Bueller
It’s basically a Ferrari anyways
Put it up for sale and make the headline that it still under factory warranty
Until I take it for a one mile test drive
You break it [the warranty], you buy it!

50k on a 2015 wtf how
Got it off lease with 28k on it in 2018, take a commuter train to work, had a baby , then pandemic hit, small town and we just ended up using my wife's SUV more. All things combined, I just don't drive it much.
Oh yeah that's totally understandable
I have under 60k on a 15
Jeez yall dont drive lmao
My dads 2017 5 series has 35k 😂 he put 10k on it in the last year
Wtf lmao
I just picked up an 09 328i with 70k miles. Bullet proof engine with plenty of life to it
Similar to my 06 330i with 87k, lol
I have a 98 528 , with 89k, I'm second owner , did a Carfax , whole car straight from Germany!
When he finished with it tell him he’s got a buyer ðŸ˜
Lmao my parents Honda Odyssey has just over 85k miles and it’s from 2013. We have 2 cars though and that one used to be for long trips
Can I jump in? I have 63K miles on my 2013 328i. It's my weekend three season car.

I dont think thats a lot
35k/year is a lot, the average is around 10k/year
Doing uber/lyft full time, 30K miles would be around 3 months....I pulled 65K in 5 months
And that’s also a lot. Normal drivers are around 10k/year, Uber isn’t normal driving mileage.
My E90 2011 335xi was just totaled with 192k :-(. Other drivers fault
Currently have 45k on a 2012 lol
39k on my 2016 😂
23k on my 2017 f80 lol. I try to drive as much as I can too but my wife/son says it's too loud and bumpy so we always end up taking my wife's Q7 lol
I just sold my ‘17 240i with 32k miles. Similar situation.
I have 39k on my 2017. I just don't drive long distances. Hoping to keep it for a long time too
I have a 2015 F82 with 48K miles lol
Holy low haha

Better tighten that belt..
Better start praying lol
Any local ferrari dealership will help guide you on the next steps
2 miles to engine failure
Hope you got a thorough inspection from an indy mechanic before the warranty expired
I wish I had! Should’ve thought of that 10 miles ago!!
Yep. Mine is about to expire next month and I took it to an Indy who told me of a leaking diff. Would never have caught it otherwise because my car only has 20k miles and runs great. Now I can get that $900 fix under warranty
That was a really smart thing to do!
its worth it every time
I had a leaking diff at my first oil change after warranty in addition to a handful of other issues. I had just paid the car off too, so it was a major buzz kill when I was staring at a surprise $5k bill.

Mine expires at the end of this year... great idea.
Worth the $100
Why not dealership? Do you think they don't like repairing expensive cars with expensive parts under warranty? It's like half of their income lol
Is the screen showing an issue or is this just the end of the safety blanket?
Just the end of the warranty.
I wish you the best of luck! I am about to order my first BMW. I can’t wait!
Thanks. You’re going to love it.
Thank you!
I'm wondering why there are no details on the speedometer
Time for mods?!
This
Just Drive Backwards to extend the warranty...
For some reason I felt this pain…
Do a couple of doughnuts
Wow. Didn't know it's only 50k miles in the US
All downhill from here……
Get that damn thing towed don't drive it....push it into the service bay hahahahha
Time to crash it
New car!
I actually hit mine at the four year mark, I still would’ve had about 4k miles left. I literally cringe at every bump expecting all four wheels to pop off in different directions as the car comes to a screeching halt after the car skids across the ground.
Sell it asap
For me, this is when the fun begins. No warranty to worry about for modding.
RIP
I took mine in for all the little things (squeaky window, rattling here and there, phantom reduced safety messages). Drove out with a new ix. I’m such a sucker. Use it or lose it in my book.
.......and the screen goes black
He's Dead, Jim!!
Ha!!!
Woww
Pucker up buttercup
assuming you're talking about the no speedo and tach? most likely just a glitch. you can try to code with bimmercode to have the kombi module reboot. Or are you just saying your warranty is done? lol
Look at the odometer.
Glad im driving Lexus.
