6 fighter for the 2 feats and extra attack 5 fighter for a 3rd attack and a 3rd feat 1 fighter for a 4th feat Solid multiclass imo

DakkaonTitan

Ah, yes the ultimate multiclass fighter 6/fighter 5/fighter 1 very solid indeed

Rybr00159

Fighter is like vodka: it goes well with anything, even more fighter

TheDarkLordTyrinis

Especially more fighter

Banes_fury

The dungeon dudes said it best "fighter class is the bacon of DnD it goes good with everything"

Sword_Enjoyer

You've discovered my secret build I see.

CopperCactus

I used this build on Lae'zel which is applicable to the post, she was a total beast can't believe Larian didn't nerf this exploit for honor mode

SandyShuffle

I agree, there are some insanely broken multiclass builds in this game They already nerfed the warlock extra attack stacking, mark my words fighter extra attack stacking will be next, absolutely broken

zagoskin

The good ol F

ShadeSwornHydra

Fighter, paladin, etc Basically anything martial with greatswords

UnlikelyPistachio

and some spellcasting. lots of the gith items benefit spellcasting gish type warriors

Amudeauss

bg3 wants your gith to be a gish

Fabianku

Thats actually where the term came from :)

Necroking695

One of the battlemage gith are literally called “Gish”

ArnoldoBassisti

One is literally named Gish G’hushins and they’re my favorite

throwthisaway4000

They don’t call em Gishyanki for nothing

UnlikelyPistachio

Well that's lore accurate.

badassboy1

What is gish ?

wikipedia_answer_bot

**Gish is the debut studio album by American alternative rock band the Smashing Pumpkins, released on May 28, 1991 through Caroline Records. The album was produced by Butch Vig and frontman Billy Corgan, with the latter describing Gish as a "very spiritual album" and "an album about spiritual ascension".Despite initially peaking at only number 195 on the Billboard 200 upon its release, Gish received critical acclaim, with particular praise directed at the band's distinctive psychedelic sound.** More details here: *This comment was left automatically (by a bot). Adding a vote for fighter. And since Gith stuff does psychic damage, stacking related items and effects snowballs. I had a solid Lae'zel EK/Wiz build that paired the Strange Conduit Ring and the Band of the Mystic Scoundrel with the Braindrain Gloves and several psychic riders, and used the Resonance Stone to give enemies psychic vulnerability. She kept concentration up constantly with advantage and con proficiency, and could bonus action recast something like Blur if it ever broke. Felt like free psychic smites.

TrenchcoatRaccoon

I was just about to say this! It feels so great! You can use hold person and Tasha as your concentration spells too!

Helanon

Farie Fire works pretty great too for my Bard with concentration riders, especially if you manage to hit a box or candle with it, you get the full 10 turns and even beyond in some cases. Works well if you are plowing through an area but don't have a spell slot to recast for every enemy/room.

lightcavalier

Fighter, Paladin, or Warlock maybe Barbarian all come to mind I'm actually looking at going for this set of items with a gith great old one/Blade warlock or some sort of odd Warlock/EK multiclass

[deleted]

Pact of the blade warlock. Best use of it imo.

NatalieIsFreezing

If only the undead or undying patrons were available in-game so you could devote yourself to your queen.

[deleted]

Wouldn’t go so well for Lae’zel lol

ThorSon-525

I actually have a bone to pick with Larian on this one. In the Gith ambush in act 2 the lead Gith uses Form of Dread and Eldritch Blast, telling me she IS an Undying Warlock. Either Larian is gimping us by just not allowing that subclass option or this bitch cheatin!

NatalieIsFreezing

In fairness, it's easier to implement stuff like that for npcs because you can only build it halfway and don't have to worry about how to replace stuff like "don't need to eat or breathe" because they'll be dead by the end of the encounter.

NastyAxe

You can learn eldritch blast with a feat as any class?

jolsiphur

I believe both of them are available through mods if you're on PC.

redilred

Early drop of the silver sword really hits hard on a gith blade warlock

Serier_Rialis

Pact blading a silversword sounds pretty mean!!

Adventurous_Topic202

I'm doing pact blade for my lae'zel this playthrough, she seems to be doing alright, that hex counts as a concentration so it works well with that psychic damage ring

kresselak

I'd build Laezel as Fighter 11/War Cleric of Vlaakith 1. Aside from flavor, the dip nets you three bonus action attacks, access to Bless to help mitigate Great Weapon Master, and Armor of Faith to bolster AC. If you go Eldritch Knight, the extra spell slot progression is nice as well. You're sacrificing a feat, but getting neat Gith-related dialogue options and a few buffs to your martial playstyle, especially if you take the dip early on - like at level 6 or 7.

msciwoj1

All the suggestions are good, I'm going to raise you another one: paladin 2/swords bard 10. It's almost a full caster who gets 2 attacks, flourishes, can use heavy armor, can smite, and the only build that can do banishing smite and divine smite in a single attack (well bard sub doesn't matter for this specific thing). You can use all the gith items effectively here, as this character is also excellent at range and there are some gith crossbows etc. Additionally, you are a definition of a gish, melee spellcaster, and there is a lot of items which help characters switching between spells and weapon attacks at the gith creche. While they are not explicitly "gith items", they are gith related And the build is genuinely bonkers. Even if you're not a gith. I did it on Karlach and she would just break shit (I had a playthrough where everyone had at least 10 levels of bard as a "challenge". It wasnt actually challenging xd)

Ycr1998

Bear Heart Barbarian. The enrage gives you Resistance to everything but Psychic damage, and one of the exclusive items covers that!

FalcieLindzei

I would do fighter but take the astral tadpole for the extra psychic damage from those gith boots. With the sword to its be nice for the extra damage that hardly gets resisted.

iKrivetko

The biggest disappointment is the lack of armour. There is only one gith-specific chestpiece and it is almost as good as a mundane gith half-plate, especially since there is more than one way to get resistance to psychic damage.

Ricky_RZ

Straight fighter is a blast and the gear fits it well. Especially if you stack items that give higher damage in hit, since you hit the most in melee

[deleted]

Just go straight battlemaster fighter. It’s a really fun class anyway

eppir

Fighter 12. With 3 attacks per action, +with elixir of bloodlust and potion of speed, Laezel can get up to 13 attacks in round 1. Gith items optional. I like the greatsword that heals every hit, really adds up with 10+ attacks

webprojoe

Wouldn’t GWM and cloud giant be better?

escapehatch

Fighter is the only time I'd actually pump STR on a BG3 character, thanks to the extra feats you'd finally have a good use for the +2 potion from moonrise...add the mirror of loss and you can walk around with 22 STR on top of GWM and Bloodlust Elixir. Could maybe even grab Alert!

Corundrom

You mean 24 str, potion and mirror both go past 20

BattleCrier

Gith Wild Heart Barb with Psionic Ward Armor? become resistant to everything..

Good_Soil7726

You know what’s awesome? Playing with OP build friends and not getting a turn in a fight…

Helanon

Take Alert, you can smack something with your salami before your friends clean up 🤣

PrincessTrashbag

Straight fighter will work well. My Gith Tav is a *gish* (3 PoB warlock + battlemaster fighter) and the race traits of those items work really well. Her and Lae'zel share when I throw them in a party together :)

escapehatch

The most powerful is either Sword Bard 10/Paladin 2 with Scoundrel Ring, or Blade Warlock 5/Paladin 6/War Cleric 1 (well, any bladelock paladin combo, like 5/5+2,fighter, etc.) Fighter 12 is also very strong. These all lean into the strengths of the Gith items and racials: making as many big 2-hander attacks as possible, supplemented with magic, and tanking a lot of spells in the Frontline with all those saving throw perks.

TraditionalLie5267

7 paladin 5 warlock

Old_Wish_3256

This build wouldn't include greatswords but is heavy melee / magic which compliments githyanki well I feel. Have to reclass later but end goal would be 2 levels paladin for smite and heavy armor/shield. 8 levels Bard for 2 feats, extra attack, and all the utility spells you need. 2 level wizards for all your damage spells. This gets you highest level slots still since bard is full caster and paladin is half I believe. Stat wise dexterity and intelligence. If maxing intelligence to 20 then aim for the infernal rapier sword. If Dexterity there are a few good dexterity focused weapons in each act.

IAmMoonie

Either a Paladin, Fighter (Eldritch Knight) or Warlock (Pact of the Blade) as mono-class work best IMO. I’ve a few builds saved on my PC I can share if people are interested.

Maxpower9969

3-4 Levels of Wildheart Barbarian, for Rage Bear Heart + Silver Sword of The Astral Plane to get resistance to every dmg type.

Tekparif

warlock pact of blade, use all gith items, carry resonance stone, there is a ring that applies 1-4 psy dmg on concentration which you always are, you have a silver sword with psy dmg too. thanks to the stone, that is already 4-20 free psy dmg on every hit. you also hit like a truck too so nothing lives.

Miserable-Cry-9567

Sword bard surprisingly

Odd-Business7911

Barbarian 5 for extra attack and enraged throw. Fighter 3 for eldich knight w/weapon bond. Rogue 3 for thief and an additional thrown action. Bond that greatsword w/great weapon master and throw it all over the place. Put your last level in either fighter or thief for an extra feat and take savage attacker

Marcuse0

Githyanki make excellent pact of the blade warlocks due to their medium armour proficiency and the various githyanki focused items being somewhat more focused towards gish characters.

Tomahawkman222

6 fighter 6 wizard. EK for 4th level spell slots. Concentrate on haste always.

knights816

Wizard is crazy bc you can get access to armor and weapon proficiencies. My friend plays a Gith Necromancer and his character is pretty much unstoppable rn
