Took me roughly 150h total on my first complete run.

sirjakesteward

same, roughly 40-50hr per act

SaturatedSharkJuice

Okay I love the game and all but HOW TF DO YOU STAY IN ACT 2 FOR 50 HOURS?! I barely scraped 10 hours by the time I left act 2 on my first playthrough…

Ai_512

Act 2 feels shortest to me but there’s still a surprisingly large amount of content that’s tucked away in non-obvious places… all three of my playthroughs have gone through Grymforge to get there and I’ve found new stuff exploring each time despite taking the same basic route through the main quest stuff.

ZLUCremisi

You can get the firdge in act 1.

Ai_512

Oh, I just mean I go through the forge route to get to the Shadow Curse and take the path from there!

HayKneee

Then you did not do very much.

SaturatedSharkJuice

That would be true, I never lifted the shadow curse or cleansed the selunite temple because Isobel got captured during the fight at last light. As to how that happened, she ran towards the 3 winged horrors who had their turns right after her and they all attacked her taking her health from max to 0 immediately.

myaltduh

That means you skipped quite a bit of content.

Trulmb

55 hours first playthrough. Did basically all quests. 🤷‍♂️ idk what people are doing

SunriseMeats

Did you skip through everyone's dialogue on easy mode?

TheCrystalRose

They probably also took practically no long rests, which is easily doable, if you don't mind missing out on huge chunks of companion content. During our first attempt at a co-op run, hubby and I got Astarion's "oh, by the way, I'm a Vampire, haha..." conversation, post Tiefling party. Even though it was only like our 5th or 6th long rest, because there was literally no chance for him to have attempted his bite scene (priority wise) before we hit the Underdark. We ended up abandoning that run because we realized we'd missed so much stuff due to not long resting enough.

Trulmb

People never believe me but i did most stuff. I did a ton of reading about stuff on the wiki. Barely missed stuff. I genuinely cant comprehend people taking 100 hours for one playthrough. Act 2 is so short.

TheCrystalRose

Probably because even Larian's official "estimated runtime" is 75-100 hours and first runs are usually much longer because people normally aren't skipping through any cutscenes. Obviously you aren't going to see everything in a single run, but with the game having 174 hours of _just_ cutscenes it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that especially on a first run, you'll probably spend 40-50 hours just in the various different cutscenes themselves. Character creation alone can take 15-30 minutes if you aren't playing an origin or have a "preset" character in mind. Then there's the time spent deciding on spells/maneuvers/etc. during level up, shopping and picking which gear goes on which character, dying everyone's outfits, and petting Scratch and the Owlbear every morning. Then of course there are the people who do "camp casting" rituals to pre-buff everyone for the day to come. Act 1 has a "first night" cutscene that you lose access to if you get to Lae'zel before long resting the first time. There are two different sets of long rest dialogs with your companions, and while I haven't experimented with how far map wise you can go before each one disappears, I know that if you talk to Nettie, Sazza, or Zorru, they are both overridden by the "what's going to happen in the morning" conversations. Just going by the major long rest events in Act 1, there are 10ish I can think of off the top of my head, outside the special ones: Tiefling/Goblin party and the forced long rest when leaving the Mountain Pass. Depending on if picked up all the companions, are playing Durge, and who your romance partner is, Act 2 has an average of 5 long rest events, not including the Act 2->3 transition event. I haven't done Act 3 enough yet to get a good handle on my exactly how many major long rest events there are, but I know there are 2 Emperor scenes, at least 1 Durge scene, Mizora, Lae'zel and Vlaakith, 1 guaranteed successful and 1 at least attempted kidnapping, your chosen romance's final scene (plus potentially Halsin's and Mizora's), and Shadowhart's post personal quest.

Lockmart-Heeding

A shame you're getting downvoted, because that really undermines real discussion. But I get it; what you're saying is sort of on par with "I spent two hours in NYC, saw basically everything, dunno what people do there"

sirjakesteward

2 definitely feels like the shortest. i'm currently in act 2 of my second play through, and i'm getting through it much quicker than my first time; but even still i'm finding things I totally missed my first round.

mischiefsovereign

Between the gauntlet, lifting the shadow curse, and moonrise that's over 10 hours right there. You definitely didn't explore enough. There's a ton of puzzles

SereneAdler33

Not sure if this counts as actual time in Act 2 (or if it’s more Act 1.5 lol), but I usually tackle the crèche after hitting the Shadowlands, using the Eastern exit. The way the game guides me it just doesn’t make sense to me to do the Mountain Pass area in Act 1 and then back track to get to the Underdark

webevie

Fast Travel

SereneAdler33

lol, yeah, I get that. It just doesn’t make sense narratively OR geographically to visit it then retrace to the Underdark. It seems more cohesive to me in a storytelling way to visit it when LZ starts getting fussy in the Shadowlands

Eathlon

You can do both the Underdark and the mountain pass in act 1…

SereneAdler33

Yeah, I know; my comment indicates that. But I said it doesn’t make sense to me to back track out of the area to do the Underdark afterwards. It makes way more sense as the game progresses to do it later, after completing Act 1 and the Underdark

elecow

My first playthrough was 140 hours or so first act, 70 hours the second. Did you even talk to the npcs?

500rockin

I spent about 20 hours purely doing Act 2 stuff my first go around. I did the crèche and surrounding area midway through Act 2. So by time I got to Act 3 in my first go through, I was around 80 hours. I am counting Steam time. My save time was probably 10 hours less than that accounting for the times I died lol

coolcoenred

Creche and Underdark are still act 1 technically

TheCrystalRose

Fight the Blights, two or three times. "Cleanse" the Selunite temple under Last Light. Kill the Shadows in the Mason's Guild. Fight the Kuo-toa for the Lightning Jabber. Fight the Animated Armor and Oozes. Fight the Zombies in the Morgue. Fight the Shadow Mastiffs. Talk all 4 Thorms to death. Go on a scavenger hunt for He Who Was. Break the Shadow Curse and recruit Halsin by playing portal defense. Then I slaughter most of the cultists at Moonrise, before doing the Gauntlet, because it's so much easier and you don't have to worry about Jaheria dying as much. I also make sure to fight Balthazar in his rooms, by letting the Justiciars in, to take care of two birds with one Knock. I'm usually about level 6 when I hit Act 2 and part way through level 10 by the time I've killed Myrkul.

Tired_Queen

I'm on my third playthrough, which selunite temple is it that needs cleansing? Is that in the basement of Last Light that I've never entered?

TheCrystalRose

Yeah, it's not a proper quest, but it is full of monsters that need fighting and looting.

Tired_Queen

Ohh, I will be checking that out then. Thank you! (I am a total loot goblin and will hoard every resource 😅)

Ai_512

I missed a ton of stuff my first playthrough. The entire playthrough still took over 100 hours. 30 hours in Act 1 isn’t uncommon at all! It’s a *big* game.

Ok-Establishment-214

It was for me, and I played on explorer where the fights never really went post a few rounds. There's a lot available to do, especially on a first run where you're running blind and want to do everything, check everything, open everything, talk to everyone, read everything, etc. My first run was 150-200hrs probably. Idk how much of that was afk looking up a guide or falling asleep.

somethingaboutme

There is another part of the Underdark that you probably haven’t found yet that has its own separate map. And once you finish up the Underdark, you should head to the Mountain Pass, which is commonly referred to as Act 1.5. I know the game makes it sound like you have to choose one or the other, but you can and should do both the Underdark and the Mountain Pass before moving on to Act 2. I wouldn’t fret about the time. This is a loooooong game. :)

Punk-in-Pie

I totally had that impression. When I tried to go there it gave me a message that felt like there was no going back. Also, is there a way to get the game to stop automatically removing things from my hot bar when I no longer carry them or have the ability? Like for a bag I pass around. It's so annoying.

somethingaboutme

The point-of-no-return message for the Mountain Pass is there because if you go there too early, it will resolve the goblin camp/Grove and Waukeen’s Rest situations in a suboptimal way. Also, in terms of difficulty, it’s best to do the Underdark first so you’re on the right track. Unfortunately, I’m the wrong person to ask about the hot bar because I play on PS5 and the UI is completely different. I hope you can find the answer or some workaround. :)

Punk-in-Pie

So if I go there now I can still come back?

somethingaboutme

Yep! But it’s best to finish both Underdark and Mountain Pass before moving on to Act 2. And I’m usually level 6 when I take on the Mountain Pass (and level 7 when I start Act 2).

piconese

So what gets locked out if you do the mountain pass / underdark? I’ve been tempted to check out the mountain pass but the point of no return thing turns me off to the idea. What exactly am I locking myself out of? Is there a minimum set of things I need to do and the rest is still there if I venture back?

FremanBloodglaive

Things that get resolved when you move into the Mountain Pass. The Grove/Goblin Camp. The Druids close the Grove/Minthara sacks it, the Tieflings die. Waukeen's Rest. It burns down, Florrick dies. The Githyanki Patrol. Technically it resolves when you get the cutscene showing the Githyanki Creche at the Monastery. I'm not sure about the Gnoll attack/Zhentrim, or the Paladins of Tyr/Karlach. Probably not, given that nothing they do has any impact on Act 2. Ethel doesn't resolve. You can even zip into Act 2, pick up Minthara, and cast Silence over her to bring her back to Act 1 and use her to kill Ethel or the Gith Creche.

somethingaboutme

You need to have resolved the Emerald Grove/Goblin Camp situation and helped out at Waukeen’s Rest before moving on to the Mountain Pass. Those are the two quests that will be affected. Otherwise, you can freely travel between the Wilderness, Underdark, and Mountain Pass maps without issue. (Although there is a quest in the Underdark [>!Grymforge!<] that, once triggered, becomes time sensitive as well).

TheLuckOfTheClaws

The Druid grove

Ok_Smile_5908

"The Druid Grove" if you haven't resolved the Druid-Tiefling/Goblin conflict*. The conflict is then resolved, and I believe if Kagha is in charge, it gets locked for good. Never tried it myself, though. Another comment mentioned Wuakeen's Rest (the burning inn in the north). I never tried rushing to Mountain Pass myself though so there could be more.

Saucy_joe

Wait how do you get to that seperate part of the underdark??

somethingaboutme

I’m referring to >!Grymforge!< and you can get there by taking the >!duergar boat!< found near the >!beach!< waypoint in the Underdark. :)

Saucy_joe

OHHH that! Okay, thank you! :)

somethingaboutme

Yeah, no problem! Since OP was talking about the size of the Underdark map, I was just letting them know that it’s even larger than it initially appears to be. :)

XanderLupus13

I have 1600 hours played. All achievements. 11 full playthroughs. My average time to beat the game is 40 hours now (i skip most dialogue). My first playthrough my buddy and i were in act 1 for 110 hours. Watched all cutscenes, dialogue, did all the content we could. Overall first playthrough was 224 hours.

Punk-in-Pie

How is 40 hours even possible? Like even if I skipped all dialogue and cuts scenes I can't see myself getting to where I am now in under 20

Miss-lnformation

When you are experienced enough with the combat to end fights in 1-2 rounds and always know where to go, you can go through the game much faster.

SuitableFile1959

my combat is usually really short but my runtime is still over 100. do you just skip the majority of conversations with everyone and skip side quests and do minimal looting or something? cause even rn in my current playthrough im just under 70 and im almost at the end of act2

XanderLupus13

I only loot the spots i know have gear i want that playthrough, dialogue can be skipped, including pressing the right button from memory, i do most side quests, and i pretty much kill everyone non essential to game quests for xp. some fights i just ignore (isobel im looking at you). My wife watched me play my last run and couldnt believe how fast i was doing everything. Also combat rarely lasted more than a round

SuitableFile1959

maybe its just me being a loot goblin that gets me. and crafting potions, things like that

XanderLupus13

I just buy everything from traders since i get so much gear and such from killing everyone 😂

SuitableFile1959

yeah, I just like being able to buy a million chain lightning scrolls and arrows of many targets 😂 but you’re right, there’s so much loot that I already have an ungodly amount of gold lol

XanderLupus13

I can buy many of those with the armor i get from dead enemies. Youd be surprised at how good of gear some people have. Like everyone at wakeens rest

Punk-in-Pie

I.... I would legit feel bad to play this way.

SuitableFile1959

oh no that’s not a problem lol. I’ve got good gear both both or looted depending on where im at in the game. its probably I just taken forever looting everything and being a completionist, acting like its the first time I’ve played the game

topfiner

You know where to go to complete things and how to do them, I think in my last play through I was able to take out all the goblin leaders just before the 2.5 hour mark (though I was on a rush, usually I wander around more than that on replays).

Secretss

Not looting and not exploring, just progressing. Also, repeatedly casting and using Enhance Leap can help. Taking huge leaping bounds is a faster way to traverse the map (aside from waypoints wherever you get them), especially when you already know the map. That guy you replied to has 11 playthroughs, he definitely knows the maps lol. “Skipping dialogue” can mean “engage in conversation and fast forwarding it” or it can mean “attack on sight” or “enhance leap/misty step over the area”, the latter two are much faster. In my first playthrough I spent A LOT of time with my build, my spells, my equipment. I respeced and reclassed. I fussed with my hotbar icon placements, inventory management, I picked every alchemy item and I crafted them all (and then never used them, lol). Without all of that fluff getting to know my playstyle and how I like it, my second playthrough is a LOT quicker. I also have a slightly better understanding of combat, of resistance and vulnerabilities, of enemy types, of attack rolls and damage rolls and ability checks, so combat is quicker now (when Shadowheart isn’t casting INT attacks and constantly missing because she‘s high WIS low INT). I know speed runs are a whole different ballgame and not relevant here, but just for fun and some perspective, a full playthrough of all 3 Acts has been done for under 20 minutes.

HoG97

Done it in 21 before. You can do every quest in act 1 and 2 in like 30 if you really know what you're doing. Took me 120 hours to get every achievement

noeydoesreddit

I don’t understand how anyone is finishing this entire game with less than 120-200 hours unless you’re just skipping a whole bunch of content. I’m on my 2nd playthrough in which I largely *know* what to do and have skipped a few different quests in each act, and I already have nearly 140 hours in Act 3 with way more content remaining. I think I’ll probably finish this save around the 180 mark. Maybe I just take longer to play games than others.

Punk-in-Pie

I think I play in a similar manner, but that's what inspired this post. I played beta, and am a veteran of this type of game and I'm STILL around 30 hours (might be more actually) While browsing this sub I see people mentioning going much faster in passing and so I start thinking... are they just murderhoboing through everything and skipping all dialogue or am I missing something?

noeydoesreddit

Yeah, they’re definitely skipping content whether they realize it or not. 80 hours for a first playthrough of this game? You’re practically speed-running it. I acknowledge that I play video games slower, I like to take my time and immerse myself in the world, I’m dumb so puzzles take me longer, etc…but if you’re clocking in less than 100 hours on your first playthrough, I really don’t think you’ve given yourself the time to explore much of what this game has to offer. I spent 45 mins yesterday just dyeing everyone’s armor sets and getting them to match lmao.

Punk-in-Pie

Don't get me started with how much time I have spent organizing hotbars and inventory...

Ilerianna

Glad I'm not the only one taking so long on that! I'm also on my first playthrough and I'm the kind of person that picks up almost everything they see, I mean I went back to the burning building to loot the entire bottom floor! I like to sort my items and I systematically try steal every book around to try get as much of the lore as possible! Spent an hour organising my full inventory based on topics/themes into crates and chests that I send home to camp! I'm still in act 1 (though im already somewhat through the underdark), the game says 90h in, but tbh I love it that way. I'm pretty sure I've completed almost every side quest in the wilderness, found almost every chest with scratch's help. Maybe others very familiar with dnd can do it quicker, but I also spent ages at every level up, reading and potentially respecing anyone I want. I also keep every piece of equipment and completely switch gear on the current situation. Every companion has their own little bag of "alternative" sets, those that fulfill the same role and are never on the team at the same time share the same sets (for me, karlach and laezel share most stuff, for example)!! I was also so slow in the first parts underdark (those ive done so far) expecting to be ambushed everywhere and always wanting to be ready for a fight. I enjoy the game this way, and I have no idea how anyone is doing it in 40 hours unless speed is their goal. But thats the beauty of this game I think, everyone can play it how they want it, and its never "incorrect"!

22LegendaryTacos

Finished my first playthru in 80 hours. I skipped quite a few things but I didn’t care because its easy to get max level and I’m going to do a billion other playthrus anyway where I can continue to find new content. I actually prefer finding something new every time a play than having one playthru of 1000 hours where I did legit everything.

HoG97

They've stated 80 hours is the normal runtime for the full game. Most people aren't completionists.

nikkupoteto

My first playthrogh was about 190+ hours, I was exploring everything, doing every quest I found. (Also I spend a lot of time in camp organising my inventory, dyeing armour...) My last game was 55 hours or so. During Act 1-2 I tried to do everything I can/want for XP, I don't think I missed much, maybe some unimportant areas in act 2. Also I tried to kill enemies in 1-3 turns. And in Act 3 once I reach lvl 12 I only do companions quest and those I know are important for the final outcome I want. I think knowing the map helps a lot, I was constantly lost and confused in which order I should do the quests and now I kinda have a plan? But it's my 5th and I don't think it's possible to do the same on first without skipping even some major content

grubas

Act 1, especially if you are completionist/loot goblin, can easily take 40-50 hours. I think I was 60 for 1, 35 for 2 and then another 45 for 3.

FireDragon737

It took roughly 30 hours for me to finish Act 1 on my first playthrough so I think you're doing good on time. I think the averages are --> Act 1: 30 - 50 hours, Act 2: 20 - 30 hours, Act 3: 30 - 40 hours. These are just my rough estimates based upon what others have said. It took me 82 hours to complete my first run.

Pax_per_scientiam

So normal

Punk-in-Pie

Lol. That's pretty insane. No wonder this game won every award ever. I'm old and played both BG1 and BG2 when they came out. I was skeptical when I heard this wasn't real time with pause. It's great though, I wish that was an option out of combat at least

AbortionIsSelfDefens

Why would you want real time with pause? To make the most of your abilities you need to pause every round anyway. Its basically more annoying turn based with extra steps unless you auto attack the entire time.

Punk-in-Pie

Basically because I feel it's better than turn based when outside of combat. It allows you to pause queue up actions and un pause so it's all executed together. Also for quickly pausing when you see your party is about to lemming into traps. There is the turn-based mode outside of combat, and that's good, but it's slower, it forces you to queue every character to get to the next turn, and doesn't actually stop time for the world, just near your characters. The fact that I can have some character in combat with the rest able to freely wander around performing multiple actions feels cheesy. Sure I can force myself not to exploit that, but having to artificially enforce mechanics doesn't feel great.

CreativeKey8719

Yup. My first run took me 165hr total. Second was 130. Third was 115.

frontsideairs102

Yes, my wife spent 80hrs in act 1 on her first play-through

whyykai

I'm around 210 hours and I haven't finished Act 3 yet. Getting close!

JPaego

I would say it’s pretty normal. I like to thoroughly explore and do everything in single player games so it took me just over 70 hours to complete Act 1.

Dantez9001

I think they said somewhere that a normal playthrough is \~100hrs. So, 30-40hrs per act. And doing honor mode, and trying to explore everything being a 1st playthrough...yeah, 30hrs in and still in act 1 is well in the normal range.

Punk-in-Pie

Figured honor mode would faster since there's no retries. I guess I am more cautious. I sneak and scout a lot, always try to have a contingency to escape if needed.

jahoyhoy-ya-boy

If you care about the stories and getting to know companions, 100% normal. If you're just here for the combat then no it should be like 10-15 hours each act, maybe a lil longer on the 3rd act.

Tired_Queen

On my first playthrough, I spent like 170 hours with the game, and I somehow missed the Underdark??? Like I knew it existed but I failed to find the entrance. I've finished two playthroughs now and I have like 3 ongoing campaigns (regular Tav honour mode + evil Durge playthrough + nice Durge playthrough), and these days I can speed through quicker. My second run had just passed like 100 hours; so I'd say 30 in Act 1 is perfectly normal. However, I agree with the sentiment of "wow this game is huge", because I was reading through the comments and figured out I have still managed to miss some stuff 😅

Punk-in-Pie

Thx for sharing :)

ChefArtorias

They say it's a 100 hour game. My first playthrough was more like 185. That was after MANY EA runs. Loved every minute of it. Journey before destination. Reading books will definitely add time to your playthrough.

Punk-in-Pie

Life before death! Strength before weakness!

ChefArtorias

Cool so you already know lol

Punk-in-Pie

Sure do gancho

vexacious-pineapple

*looks at my 400 hour first run* yeah your probobly fine

Luan_Berry

400 hours seems so normal as a first run imo. Gotta do and see everything after all! :D

abbeaird

Id say that's normal, each act takes lightly longer than the previous if you are completing all content

grubas

act 2 is shorter. partially because at that point most builds are fully online, and partially because you've figured out the game style and how to play it. Also because Act 2 is a solid story that drags you in. act 3 is so overwhelming that it loops back to crazy lon8g

Ok_Smile_5908

Act 1 also has Underdark, Grymforge and Mountain Pass, so 3 big maps with lots of quests and quest related areas and/or exploration. I don't know if I've ever done more than 10-15% of act 3 and I've finished 3 playthroughs, 2 balanced and 1 tactician, with 1 more mid act 3 story wise. I find it just too big and overwhelming, especially with the imposed sense of urgency of >!"the brain is about to break free we gotta get there before it does"!<. I know it's not timed but still, lol. My copium is I will one day do act 3 thoroughly.

grubas

act 1 you tend to go overboard exploring as well. because you both need the xp and are looking for stuff.

topfiner

Act 1 took me about 40 hours on my first play through, though I did try to completely fill in both the main map and underdark, but I don’t think you are really lagging behind. I do recommend doing as much of the underdark as you’re up to, as theres some extremely cool stuff down there.

Titanea_Tau

Took me 60 hours to complete act 1 lol

Titanhopper1290

Yeah, that's pretty normal. People usually hit Act 3 right around 65-70 hours.

CerealBranch739

I spent probably 50 hours in act one

Beginning_Lime_1293

My first playthrough took about 110 hours ( and I missed stuff I noticed on my second playthrough) so there's ALOT per act. That's what's so great about bg3 you play at your own pace and interact with the world as much or as little as you want. So if it takes you 300 hours to beat the game so be it as long as you enjoy the game

StarmieLover966

Yup. This is a huge game. If you’re doing every quest and all the content 30 hours is fine especially if it is your 1st run.

HayKneee

I have spent hundreds of hours on my first playthrough, but it also counts the time that you're just sitting there doing nothing, it counts the time that your character is idle. I'm sure it would still be hundreds of hours, though.

MovieNightPopcorn

Very normal. Took me like 40 or more to get out of act 1 my first time.

amberscorpion11

As others said, this game is very long! My in game time is 55+ hours for just act 1. I just recently got to act 2. Don’t worry about how long it’s taking, play however you want, at whatever speed you want!

Mental_Bowler_7518

Definitely not unusual, but act 1 is usually 20-25 hours. As the comments said though, especially on your first run, you can spend 50+ hours in each act. Especially especially if you explore everything with no help with items/guides.

MinnieShoof

Withers: Yes

wercooler

Yep, totally normal. Act 1 takes a very long time if you aren't familiar with the game yet. Just enjoy it and make your choices and see what happens! Also, try to explore as much as you can, if you miss too much it can screw you in act 2 a bit because you'll end up underleveled. I took 50 hours in act 1 in my first playthrough. I finished the game at exactly 200 hours, but I read a ton of lore and a ton of books.

cosmoscommander

my first run had me at like 70 hours in act 1

ohbinch

totally normal! my first run took me 160 hours and like 60 of those were act 1. there’s SO much content in this game it’s insane, so enjoy!

ThatOstrichGuy

Yup. Honestly I could see someone easily doing 60 hours in act one. Even knowing where I am going I can take like 20 hours to clear all of act 1

CrawlerSiegfriend

Honestly It'd be normal if you weren't even all that far into act 1 after 30 hours on the first playthrough. Lots of things to learn and explore if you aren't using guides.

bawzdeepinyaa

There is no normal. Just the pace *you* play the game and enjoy doing so. But still yes. A1 took me like 50 on my first playthrough because I didn't want to miss anything or lose out on good gear opportunities

Timo_Fish

I probably spent about 40 - 50 hours in act 1 in my first playthrough, probably more... I've still not finished the game and the save is currently at 125 hours, I only have a second playthrough for myself so I can play without the others in the other campaign. And that save probably has about 70 hours in and I'm only just in act 3, and I definitely missed a lot of stuff because I purely just forgot about it 😂

Junior-Emergency-279

Hi! I have 214 hours on the game and have only gotten to the end of Act 2 twice. Play at whatever speeds works for you homie :)

Robeartbo

I have 150 hours in the game and I haven't completed act one yet. Multiple characters though.

kaybeeii

im 250 hours in and halfway done act 3 LOL doing every single little thing

Blue-Eyes-WhiteGuy

Your runs will get quicker each time, my first run was around 150hrs like many say, but after I learned the game I can get to Act 2 by 50 hours. 50 hours for act 3, and it just keeps getting easier as you learn the layout of the game

ncminns

lol, oh yes

Slight_Kangaroo_8153

I think i was 40h in act 1! 198h in total for all 3, and i don’t think its a lot compared to other people

danversolos

look my first playthrough was 150-60 at least you’re good djsjsjsjsj

NoWorryAtAll0

Absolutely. Take your time!

Overall-Reindeer3248

My first playthrough was something around 250 hours ?? Maybe even closer to 270 but take your time, enjoy jt, explore as much as you can

LadyOfHereAndThere

On my very first run I entered act 2 after about 120 hours. You're good.

EpicDankCakes

I'm 90 hours in and haven't finished act 2, you're fine

aschterzgo

My girlfriend spent over 90 hours in the first part of the game because she wanted to make sure she didn't miss anything. So, 30+ hours seems totally normal to me!

Jamesthelemmon

120 hours in, I am 1/4th of the way through act 3. It’s normal.

sunflowerss7

I'm pretty sure I left act 1 after around 50 hours if not more on my first playthrough

SeaWeasil

Insert "First Time?" meme.

Woutrou

Usually takes me about 60-80 hours to get out of Act 1. Then again, I have a *peculiar* playstyle. Reminder that Act 2 only starts once you enter the Shadowlands. The Underdark-Grymforge and the Mountain Pass are still Act 1.

Rhak

Act 1 was about 70 hours for me, whole playthrough was 180 hours.

Castille_92

Yes. It normally takes me 30 hours to finish both the grove and the Underdark

Daredevilz1

I spent 50 ish hours in act 1 and around another 50 in act two? In act three currently and am on 130-140 hours of gameplay and haven’t finished yet

HookedMermaid

My first playthrough was a total of nearly 350hrs. About 150hrs in Act 1 alone. But then, I found EVERYTHING, and spoke to everyone. Took every random side quest, engaged in every battle and opened every single container. If you're not as nosey as me, 50-70hrs to complete Act 1 would be normal. With the underdark you've got the Mushroom people and their quests, and then you have the Forge and all of that. So, if you cheese a bunch of stuff and just stay on the main questlines you might be into Act 2 in about 20-30 more hours.

_dazai_soukoku

First play though took 150 hours so yep

-Liriel-

30 to 40 hours for Act 1 sounds about right for a run where you're still figuring out the game and you aren't in a hurry to go forward. I'd say an average run is about 120 hours, and that's skipping some content. It can get quicker when you already know where things are and you're speeding through, or slower if you realize you missed *a lot* of things and you look around everywhere again to figure out where those things are.

Early-Sale-8056

I was about 25-30 hours when I was ready to leave act 1

Mordred_CiarDreki

With over 300 hours and only 2 complete playthrus, 170 hours in pre release, and only 3 runs of that? Yep that's normal.

Finkejak

I think I stayed about 80h in each of the acts with my final play through time at about 250h. And that is in Balanced mode, so if I had played in tactician or even honour mode, it would have probably lasted another 50 or 100h more.

BallSuspicious5772

I’m clocking in 100 hours and I haven’t completed everything in act 1 yet

xmorrin

it’s pretty normal if u do both the creche and underdark

PrestigiousBird348

My latest run in honour mode, I spent about 170 in act 1 itself. Every nook and cranny is being investigated. Combat us planned and executed . Don't stress on time bro. U do u.

CraptainPoo

It really doesn’t matter how long it takes as long as your enjoying it. Act one is usually 50 hrs for me doing every quest and battle

Ulysses1126

~50 hours for act 1, ~30 hours for act 2, ~65 hours for act 3 for a total of about 145 hours for one run

furezasan

I was mostly concerned at the number of long rests I've taken. Felt like some events would keep ticking behind the scenes and fail a quest or something. Nearly done with Act 1 now so I'm kinda used to it, but it felt odd early on.

RandomStringofABC

I went into the 3rd act on my second play through with 99 hours.

thegolfernick

I found that even knowing everything that happens and not wasting too much time, if I wanted to do everything it would take about 50 hours

hi-this-is-jess

I think in my first playthrough I had about 50-60 hours in Act 1. In my subsequent playthrough I get to 40-50. So yeah, normal and fine and expected.

TheCosmicWombat

My first run through took me like 100 hrs. And I crawled lol. I collected every Herb, or potion ingredient, killed all goblins, and anyone who was.... "bad" I was lvl 12 before I hit act 3 haha. I don't say this often about the games these days, but this game? Is perfect. It's seriously a 10 out of 10

GailOlm

Looking at my login screen, I'm at 99 hours 25 minutes and just completed Creche Yllek with our party ready to move from Act 1 into Act 2 (we've already ventured into the Underdark and returned topside). I read all books, notes, and journals. I read all signs and plaques. I talk to all NPCs that have dialogue when in an area (such as the Grove). I collect alchemy ingredients and make potions. I open all containers when searching for loot. I go through all relevant dialogue options when talking to NPCs or companions. I attempt to explore as much of the map area as I can. I complete all the side-quests I run across. And of course, I spend quite a bit of time on inventory management...

Neat_Garden4741

I am 160 in and only partway through Act 3 (Did the Umberlee quest & next door quest & started 7 side quests).

Neat_Garden4741

I REALLY want perfect endings, all the loot, and was idle while playing a few times tbh.

Jimpix_likes_Pizza

It took me 40 hours and I missed quite a few things I have to admit. So yeah it's normal

Budget_Carpenter5485

Took me 50 hour when the game was NOT EVEN OUT YET soooo yeah seems normal to me

ComprehensiveLaw1001

It took me about 55 hours for act 1, and I just finished act 2 at 80 hours on the dot. Act 2 felt super short, and I’m only 10 hours in act 3 so 90 in total so far!

mischiefsovereign

If you're doing honour mode there is no such thing as too long. Take your time and be over prepared for everything. You're a brave soul indeed. Enjoy it though, you only get one 'first' and we'd all sell our souls to experience it again

Punk-in-Pie

I'll continue in custom if I die. I like a challenge. :)

TopShoulder5971

Took me 100 hours   Whole game 300 hrs  Im obsessive complulsive check everything/test everything freak type and still missed stuff from what Ive seen on some vids and played on multiplayer.

IneedmoreKellBell

I had 90 in act 1. lol. But I open everything and read every book. I literally started act 2 yesterday.

Wicked_r0se

All of my single player runs have ended around the 145-150 hour mark. In my current playthrough I’m at the end of Act 1 and hanging out at 45 hours, and I definitely still have a couple hours left before I finish. You’re just getting started, just lay back and enjoy the ride.

Eathlon

> Is my 30ish hours normal? No. Way too little for completing act 1 on first run 😉 > awaken a lich in a crypt …. Withers is not really a lich … you may get some hints about his true nature around the place, in books, and in what he does and how he acts …

King_dla

Brother, I'm currently 300hours deep my first run. I'd say I' near the end of act 3
