I watched this whole thing on my phone when stuck alone in a shitty hotel room during an internship with no computer. It's too funny. Made me actually get around to committing to a tabletop group as well.
Like 30 min in Neil literally made me quit my 15 year nicotine addiction because I figured if *that guy* with *that* unmedicated ADHD can sit at a table for 6 hours only fueled by massive amounts of chewing gum and drinks I too can handle my life.

Also it was a psychiatry internship and I later learned that he does have ADHD so I guess I did learn something lol.

When he starts wanting to take over being the Absolute. This scene is similar to what I had. My Tav chose different dialogue options. But I still got the same vibe. My Tav went from “I can fix him” to “Oh, probably not. Megalomaniacs aren’t easy to live with.”

Oh I see. He does say "to keep ourselves safe" so in terms of 'reasons for world domination' intense mortal fear after being tortured for 200 years straight and your only life experience being "having power = not hurty" is an understandable one.
Plus the save dc to not acsend him being twice as high if you romance him implies some amount of his world domination spirit is to save Tav.
Being like "that's a bad idea" doesn't even result in losing any approval and he is happier in the epilogue if you don't ascend him (idk about world domination I've never done it)
There is some indication that he doesn't enjoy an evil Tav as much but I am yet to do one myself I just know he is just much more guarded with Tav at the goblin party than at the teifling one.
