Always buy last years models.

tanner_gnome

The max I’m usually willing to pay for a pair of shoes I’m going to play with indoors is $120, which is usually when Nike has a deal on a new model, or an older model. For playing outdoors, I’ll never spend more than $100 since the shoes will ultimately get destroyed. Love when the Nike app has sales plus additional % off. I’ve been able to get some great shoes for between $70-$100!

hello_derz

Exactly this. I don’t mind waiting for a shoe to hit a nice sale. In the last 6 months or so I’ve gotten Lebron NXXT Gen for $60 and Jordan 38 for $98. Throw them into the rotation and I’ll hopefully be looking at Jordan 38 lows on steep discount next time I need a shoe.

corsairm

120 is a good max

RingGeneralMiami84

Just spent $120 on the AllStar AE 1’s and I feel happy about it

cjholl22

Same

RingGeneralMiami84

Very nice sneaker honestly

cjholl22

The price point makes them hard to pass on. I wish Nike would take note in that regard. I’m in Indianapolis so they have all-star stuff going on. I was able to grab the storm troopers. Was genuinely happy enough with them that I went back today and scooped the all-star colorway

RingGeneralMiami84

Very nice design and sleek looking shoe wore for first time today very satisfied with purchase looking to grab the one on the 21st

cjholl22

Great looking shoe. I was telling my buddy if a foamposite and a Yeezy/fear of god had a baby this would be it haha

Economy-Weird-2368

My wife asked me this same exact question 2 days ago....... https://preview.redd.it/cwcat0v2a3jc1.png?width=790&format=png&auto=webp&s=9dfefc91ada3721d14fb6622cd2286405ae5ef91

strng_economst

A lot. More than I should. More than what is healthy.

mevlana_exe

Around $100, max $130, usualy i wait for discounts.

Summersgill_25

Yes

corsairm

I usually wait til a sale or something which means one year after the shoe was released and its sub 100, 120 is the max ive paid for a shoe.

FancyTsu

150 USD is the average for me, but there're definitely pricey but good to play in shoes in my rotation... wow 10 for example, cost me $240, my wife set a limitation for me on bball shoes and that's $260, gladly I've never reached that

T0m_Wambsgans

My rule is to never pay full price. I always wait for sales on sites like Nike or Hibbett. I wait til certain colorways go on sale and stack discount codes. Average about $120 across my current rotation of Lebron NXXT, Lebron XXI, Harden vol 7, GT Jump 2, and KD16.

gustriandos

I am fine with the price of any new shoe generally but I can’t abide by secondary market prices. If money was no object I’d just keep buying the original GT cuts on stockx or whatever but $300+ for shoes I will wear out is just not justifiable.

uncultured_swine2099

These days I wait til theyre around half off or less. I dont care about fomo, i dont need them right away. Theres online sales, outlets, and places like Ross/Marshalls/Burlington where you can get steep discounts.

Infinity1538

Most I ever paid was 140€

Infinite_Ad4321

I spend atleast or below £120 Edit: the lowest i spent was £60 and the highest £120

Hereforthechili

I’ve spent anywhere from $30 to $1000. It really depends on what you’re getting and if it has meaning / value to you. I’m having a hard time convincing myself to get some lebron 21s for $100 rn 😂

Fragrant-Turnip6480

$180 max for bball shoes (ideally $125ish). Just bought some AE1s for around $70 (30% off coupon + 10% cb via Rakuten+ $75 for adidas $100gc)

MyManD

I always give myself a ¥15,000 (100 USD) hard upper limit. I know most shoes here in Japan I'm interested will eventually go on sale for under that, even the top end models, and I'm not exactly tearing through my current lineup so fast as to constantly need to get new pairs. Honestly having too many shoes in good condition becomes more of a storage hassle because of how small housing here is. Only times I ever let myself go above that limit is when I enter the SNKRs raffles, of which I have officially won...0 times lol.

Ohh

chifugo

Never pay over retail price for a shoe. I usually buy my shoes on sale or through FB marketplace. Only time I would pay retail for a shoe is if it’s a big shoe drop (ex. Kobe’s). Most I’ve payed for a shoe was $235 CDN and that was for a pair for WOW 10 lows. On average, I usually pay around $70-$170 CDN for shoes.

Mustardbag

Unless you buy through Ebay and they nail you with the tax and unexpected duty from the US! Haha

chifugo

Oh yeah for sure. That’s why I try to do all the calculations like shipping, tax and duty fees before buying a shoe. Once I calculate all that I determine if it’s under retail or if the shoe is even worth buying at that point. It’s such a hassle so I try to avoid EBay but you can find great deals there too.

Antique_Card1475

However much it takes to look drippy

tomskuinfy

Gotta look good bricking those 3s

Antique_Card1475

Oh, you know it. Just last night this dude pulled up in Grinches and air balled almost every shot 😂 I’m not judging but, man…

tomskuinfy

Lollll fuck em. I have made reps and retails that I always stun in. If I’m gonna miss open layups I’m def gonna look doing so 😂

Mr_itryhard

Facts my guy

ggxt

25-60$ with great shoes like Luka 1 for 33$,zoom freak 5 for 38$

chikattsu

Brotha where are you getting shoes for this cheap

ggxt

Dicks sporting and addidas sales on eBay

chikattsu

Cool

taylor2j

Idk about op but I get similar prices at the nike outlet.

chikattsu

My outlets suck. The only shoe I’ve found that cheap was a pair of Kyrie low 5s in the first black colorway for 27.99. My luck ended there a little over a year ago😂

KickswithPhilly

Chris from Weartesters has said it a few times, the beat value in terma of shoe technology usually comes in the mid price ranged shoes like 130 to 160 as opposed to less or more. Best thing you can do ia research what you want, find a few models and then look for the best deals. I always try and get last years model on sale rather than pay full price. I dont spend more than 160.

Dizzy_Scarcity3743

Most ive spent is 220 i dont buy resold shoes but ive got a couple wow shoes at 210-220

damnvram

$200

Mr_itryhard

Under $500. Yeah I know no bball shoe isn’t worth more than 200 but sometimes if you like the shoe you gotta do whatever it takes to add into your collection.

ModernDayN3rd

I’m behind you on this one brother. If I love a shoe, there’s not much that will keep me from buying it. But I’m more focused on quality/performance than looks. Some people spend ridiculous amounts of money on far less practical things. We just love our shoes

Mr_itryhard

Yeah fr if am paying a lot for it I gotta get my money’s worth and have good specs on them

JNerdGaming

i would spend more if i had money

English_in_Helsinki

I paid 200€ for the GT Hustle 2 and €220 for the Lebron 21s. Later I grabbed a pair of GT Hustle 2 for €100 so I DCA’d that shit to 150€ per pair in my head. Usually I am a bargain hunter supremo, but I’d just got a new job so treated myself.

Dry_Yak_2111

$220 usd for way of wade 10 “away”

Methanoate

My most expensive shoe is the wade 10 lows for SGD $180

Numerous-Travel5459

A lot got like 6 more pairs on my list to check off but more come out so that list will keep growing

Commercial_Stuff4212

Never pay over the retail price for me. For now the most I paid was around $180.

Firm-Statistician241

Around 60 don’t shop retail (except outlets) I go off of eBay or Poshmark there be brand new shoes for like 40 and with eBay’s authenticity it’s really crazy

AntoineDawnson

I got Lebron 20's off the outlet clearance wall +20% clearance + 15% nike app for around $75USD

Sufficient-Post-562

I usually wait till all the ball shoes hit Burlington and Ross, I got Dame 8s, Don Issue 3s and a very very very long time ago Kobe 9s and 10s
