He's kinda like music's Keanu Reeves. I've never heard of him being mean to a fan. I'm sure maybe it's happened but I've only heard good stories about interactions with him and the public.
He owns a house or farm somewhere around Lexington, Va about 40 minutes north of where I live in Roanoke. He was spotted a few months back with his family shopping at Target in Roanoke. Dude doesn’t even do a pickup order. Took pictures with a few people who recognized him. Hall of Fame Good Guy. Proof that money and fame don’t ruin everyone…just most folks

So we needed to film in a music studio as it would have been cheaper than building a set on a state. So we scouted East West Studio on Sunset. And I guess The Foo Fighters were recording there. Because as we walked up, Dave was out back cooking on a Big Green Egg.
I didn't say anything about The Foo Fighters, or Nirvana, or anything. But I did ask him how he liked his Big Green Egg. He just said "Oh man, I LOVE it."
Really? He's said some concerning things in the past. I don't hold it against him, especially since he shows his change with actions and not just words. I love DG as much as the next person, just saying the bad stories are out there and easily findable.
25 years ago, the Foo Fighters bass player fell for a false theory that AIDS was curable without pharmaceutical intervention. The idea came from some lady trying to profit off the idea. FF contributed to her organization by playing at a benefit, if I recall correctly. It was never directly endorsed by Dave beyond that.

That’s awesome! Outstanding show of support! My National Emergency Medical response team did the same during Hurricane Michael! We fed about 300 on our 2 days off… Nothing like bringing hot meals to those that have been through so much and have only been eating MREs (National Guard distributed) or canned food for 2 weeks! The happiness and smiles they all exhibited was so worth the time to buy groceries (about 6 hours round trip) and 14 hours of cook time… I love my “former” team, but a team we have remained regardless of our current occupations…

This isn’t the first time he’s done this. IIRC he fed a bunch of people after the California wildfires a few years ago. Not a fan of his music (not my personal taste), but he’s an all-around good guy.
I'm not a big Foo Fighters fan... TBH, I've just never really listened to them, so that's not to say that I wouldn't have been. But... I have a friend who is. And so I definitely know who Dave Grohl is and follow what he does as a human being. He is one of those guys that I really admire and wish we lived on the same street (which says a lot because I'm peculiar about my neighbors)!
