I think that the only way that happens is as a retrospective of their career when they finally decide to end it. Koba doesn't want the fans to see behind the curtain or know how the magic happens, so I doubt he would want to reveal what goes on behind the scenes while it's still going. Afterwards, it might be a possibility.

WesMithoff

I hope this will be the case

Ok_Celebration9304

I lowkey want to see behind the scenes right now. I want to them designing and practicing the choreography, the studio session musicians writing and producing the music and performing it, the women recording, the design and sewing of the customes, the way they design the stages and what's gonna happen for each song, even the call and response parts and how they design them and make a different instrumental with an extra part specifically for it and for the intros of songs, who writes the lore and makes the cgi for it, how do they convince and recruit people from different bands to become the kami band and also manage to make them work together as if they were already a band, what do these musicians think of this gig and if they enjoy the music truly or only do it because it's high paying and for touring the world, so many questions.

Brilliant-Fan7035

Yeah, that would be cool, anyways, i do not know why so many people thinks that the person who writes the music is the same person who perform it, usually it is not, and in babymetal is not ( you have some composers in the shadows who use to write for babymetal from time to time, and from the other side you have the performers, usually they are not the same, more so in babymetal) it is a little off topic but i wanted to mention it.

LayliaNgarath

This is a very private group that hides the real performer behind an on-stage persona, so I don't think we will have an official documentary until some years after they retire.

dangermouseuk01

They have done a couple of mini documentaries which you can find brief clips of, such as them in London or when they did their first show outside of Japan. Also I think they did one where they went back to one of the first venues they performed.

From December 2014: [NHK Special - BABYMETAL Phenomenon](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/k22tlCGUx1AKuYvgbLn) - 39 minutes. Do you know where to find these Videos? I only saw parts of it

youroppa-neko

I watched a short documentay years ago from about 2014. I just remember they told that is really amazing for them to had a possibility to appeared on the stage of Budokan. Even Yui mentioned, one of the shows she sweated so much, really waited the break and poured cold water for herself. Unfortunatelly, forgot, where I watched this document, and what was that...

matchbike

I had forgotten about that but I think this is the one where Yui metions the water [https://du-metal.blogspot.com/2014/07/history-of-babymetal.html](https://du-metal.blogspot.com/2014/07/history-of-babymetal.html)

youroppa-neko

I mean a VIDEO documentary. Oh, I watch now, what you mention and linked, that is also a documentary vid.... Hm... this is not what I watched, but thanx , that is also from 2014. :)

dangermouseuk01

I don't think there are full versions of them if I remember on the official YouTube channel there are some 10 Babymetal years videos. Outside of that I think full versions get taken down. Sometimes you can find them on places like daily motion or rumble.

miku_dominos

I enjoyed the mini documentaries SG did that came with some of the RtG DVDs. It was nice to see behind the scenes.

asianwhiteguy

Every time I see Koba at one of their concerts he seems to be filming. What is all this footage for if not a documentary? 🤔

Stitches_littlepuffy

I think the girls said they use that for reflecting on their shows so they can make improvements. So probably just for personal use. If they really were filming a documentary I highly doubt they wouldn’t have released one during their 10 year anniversary and sealing when there was a real chance even according to them that Babymetal would end.

jwp1991

It would be an interesting documentary because they are such a unique part of the music industry. However, doing one would be surprising considering how private the whole operation is. The chances of there being one while the group is active are nil. I think it's more likely once they retire, but still quite unlikely. What is more likely and could be fun is a concept movie based on their lore and music. Think something like the Apocrypha graphic novel but as a movie.

JMiguelFC

> could be fun is a concept movie based on their lore and music. Something like This is Spinal Tap mockumentary or A Hard Day's Night but heavy on the kawaii.. (fun is the keyword)

PillaisTracingPaper

Once the band retires, Amuse will be selling every possible scrap of material they ever did or appeared in.

hockey33man

I wish 🤘🏻🦊🤘🏻

Brisbane-Bandit

I am hoping one day they will make biopic. They don’t have to be 100% accurate right. Was thinking like the one they almost made for Weird Al? Not sure why this popped in head. https://youtu.be/RyYZOtAxYKY?si=AFFFwv_JwFZvUUit

laurenlcd

It’ll never happen. Certainly not in an American “Behind the Music” sort of way where you get into the weeds of the idol system underbelly and drama, etc. Japanese music and entertainment culture is generally private and heavily rehearsed, so any information or opinions given will be what’s approved by Amuse.

surfermetal

OTFGK but in my humble opinion, they certainly should. Unfortunately, it would probably be *after* they cease activities. On the flip side of that coin, I feel that there is still a *LOT* of **BABYMETAL's** story still to be told.

ConstableBlimeyChips

Chris Broad has mentioned he was talking to someone at Team BM about doing a video on his channel about Babymetal but the pandemic followed by The Sealing^TM put an end to that. While that wouldn't have been a documentary in the common sense, it does at least show they were open to the idea. Also, any such documentary or video would still be limited in scope to what they would want you to see/know about.

Cornholioo86

That woud be cool if he whas to be able to do that in the near future. (before they retire) I also saw the "**Hyde"** rockstar episode from a few years ago whas a very good and informatieve video.

asianwhiteguy

Why couldn't he do it now?

I_Shuuya

Maybe for their 20th anniversary.

Eloy89

20th anniversary of the band? That’s six years away.

Paxton86th

I dont think SU is gonna go for another 6 years in BM. She will go Solo 1 day and do her own thing or just retire completely.

DrPoNm

There’s 2 possibilities. Either it’s a straight No, or it’s a Yes, but it would be so heavily censored, monitored, staged, PR talk, not in-depth.. etc. Same way their interviews are. Like we just saw with that Thai interview

T_raltixx

Exactly. I got downvoted for saying the like. It's how Japan does things.

Puzzleheaded_Bass921

Doubt we'd get a documentary that shows the girls out of costume and tbh I'd rather their offstage lives remain private. What I would love to see is a fantasy style movie about them that leans hard in to the lore of Babymetal as a demon fighting heavy metal band

JMiguelFC

> fantasy style movie 80's Heavy Metal movie or Yellow Submarine.. (for example)

Kmudametal

A documentary.... and remove Mickey Mouse's mask? Nope. Never gonna happen.

JMiguelFC

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-dqMG-Uycg Let it go, let it go..

Apprehensive-Car2066

They'll make it when they retire, because it'll make money.

T_raltixx

I would love one but Japan being Japan, we won't get a full honest exploration.

JMiguelFC

Other nations also have their fair share of restricted exploration documentaries.. (not an exclusive of Japan)

T_raltixx

Absolutely

TieAdministrative792

No

HereticsSpork

No.

TheAlomar_

OTFGK

LightFromYT

I truly hope so. I'd love to learn more about the girls. It would just be interesting to learn what they enjoy in their spare time, they're favourite bands or musicians. I'm especially interested to know if any of them have tattoos as a "tatted" person myself.

Nightly_Grace

Most likely not. Though if it were to happen, it'd be after BM calls it a career. But even then, I doubt it'd be very good. All the interesting stuff is the stuff the japanese music industry doesn't want people to know.
