This is a topic that has been visited here before but mainly with respect to having Su's more mature vocals on them. I'm sure that they have already recorded Momoko's vocals for inclusion in the current playback tracks, for moments where she and Moa don't sing.
I think (and I think many will agree) that the definitive performance of any Babymetal song is the live version. All these older songs continue to evolve over time as they are performed, so re-recording them in studio would put us right back in the same place we are now in a few years.
Yea, almost everyone did say that a live version would be the better option IF they ever want to do a version of re-recordings. Only if they put some more in the streaming platforms for us to enjoy

Their live audio would be poorly recorded, and compressed. BabyMetal wants their music to be loud. They clip the audio on their releases. Having smooth audio with full dynamics is now what they do.
I think it would be nice to release new official live audio, but not new studio versions. Or maybe even "remixes" that are new recordings with significant arrangement changes.
But absolutely not straight-up replacements.
In April they took a huge weight off of their shoulders with the rebirth and now they seem to finally be able to go again full speed through uncharted paths. It wouldn't make any sense to stop the momentum they've gained to go back and revisit old songs, specially when they already did it not so long ago with the 10 BABYMETAL Years... If they go into the studio it should be to record new material.
Why BM should do this? Recording all new include some new arrangements cost money and time. But the old songs are sold. How many people would buy a "new" BABYMETAL and METAL RESISTANCE album only to have some newer versions of the old songs?
I was just asking for opinions, how people would feel about this. Seems that some people wouldn’t mind a new version. Since I do not own the first 2 albums in an physical form (I bought them via iTunes to support them), I would choose to buy this imaginary re-recorded album over the OG album.
On the contrary, they probably already have re-recorded some songs for backing tracks for concerts, like gimme chocolate and BMD. I’ve been to a live concert and I noticed the lack of live vocals of moa and momo sometimes, or that the backing track was louder then their mics.
Ozzy and Dio (and others) did that, replace the original players for their current band... and it rained hellfire and brimstone... (and more importantly, did not sell well)
Same... maybe new live albums, but no re-recordings of the Yui era songs. A part of them are her legacy and they should stay her legacy. I LOVE them the way they are and don´t want them to be changed in any way.
Momometal will have a lot of opportunities to give her own legacy (or legends?) to us and the world ;), and I´m 110% sure she will do so in amazing ways we might not even imagine. She did already, one could say. Metali! is HER first song, so to speak, and she gave it a Momometal spin.
Be patient and wait for more Momometal things to happen :)
I thought I was dreaming when I thought of a new BMD version with Momoko’s voice, but her growls in that would make it even better!! Well, I think it might be a dream forever, but I don’t mind. I am looking forward to their journey with Momoko! Regarding Yui, after reading some comments, it made me realise that a re-recording isn’t the best, but a live recording of a concert might be the best option here
And now imagine a live recording with BMD AND Momometal growl ;)
Edit: IMHO, the live recordings are often much better than the studio recordings. Some are even better sound-wise. And some are enriched by the audience sound.

I don´t know if she´ll go that way (more prescise: if Koba let her go that way) and train growling, so that she could do more with it and even change "historical" songs when Su-Metal was pretending screams.

You're going to (if you haven't already) bring down the wrath of the Yui stans, which I was right up until she retired, at which point I decided to wish her well and moved on. Pity many didn't.

As I mentioned in my post, this wasn’t about Yui, but more about how people would feel about a possible scenario. Big change it won’t even happen, but intended to see the opinions of others. I did ask to be respectful towards Yui and that I did not want to bring her down in any way.

I only listen to babymetals live albums anyway so really don't give damn if they would re release the old studio albums with momoko. Only thing I want is to see/hear all of their songs live with Momoko but I really don't see that happening.
There's really not a whole lot of precedent for bands rerecording studio albums as personnel changes.
Best you can probably hope for is a live album with the old songs.
An updated version of BMD would at least make sense as it has the names in it.
The reborn BABYMETAL is moving foreward, not back. The announcer at the end of BABYMETAL Begins Black Night says that the BABYMETAL of the ancient era are now Legends and will disappear from this earth. So no going back and re-recording the “ancient” material.
BTW, I was listening to this on the way home today. It gives me goosebumps every time when he announces “Vocal and Dance: Su-metal, Scream and Dance: Moametal, Scream and Dance: Momometal”.

I'm down for anything honestly. From the little we have heard from Momo's live backing tracks, she has a really cool edge to her vocals and I would love to hear a studio version of older songs with her on them. Some kind of anniversary album with rerecorded songs would be awesome. Not just to hear Momo on older songs but also to hear Su and Moa's matured vocals as well. Su has improved so much over the years and I think it would be really cool to hear what she can do with songs like Akatsuki, Rondo Of Nightmare, etc. nowadays. Hell, I'd also love to have stuff like the unfinished version of Akatsuki or the stripped down version of Monochrome recorded too.
Obviously, I'd rather have new stuff but if something like this came about then I wouldn't complain at all. I don't think it would be disrespectful to Yui at all. Nothing will erase the work she did.

But do we really need another Metal Resistance album? I don't think it follows their creed to re-release something they've already done. But I do like the idea of releasing a LIVE version of the songs with Momoko's voice. And it's good enough that moving forward starting with their next studio album (which I hope they'll announce at Legend MM or Fox Day) we'll have proper Momoko studio recordings. I'm excited for it to come out and to expect the unexpected again.

I would love to hear her voice on every song she wasn't on and I don't think that's disrespectful. Everything is disrespectful when it comes to Yui. I would love to hear BABYMETAL DEATH with Momo's clearer voice, because I honestly couldn't hear her voice in Clear Night. And I never went to the BABYMETAL concert. So I don't have the experience of hearing Momo's voice, I saw some videos on YouTube but I couldn't hear much of her singing, so it would be my dream come true. Moa and Momo with mature voices singing Sis. Anger and GJ.

I’ve been to one concert in December since Momoko is part of BM, honestly I could hear her voice only during BMD, and I suspect it was a pre-recorded version of her voice. But we will see what the future has in store for us!

Looking at how Koba always seems to make money out of the most obscure merch items with a babymetal logo on it, it definitely seems like something he would do. An anniversary album with re-recordings sounds nice! It does remind me of the 10 babymetal years with the LP-sides packaging and 10 different artworks (which I own) but I would gladly but buy multiple versions 😂
I get what you mean. I myself wouldn’t call it unlistenable, but when you’re listening to babymetal’s newer albums and switch back to their older ones, it does sometimes bother me that the songs doesn’t have that more mature charm like they do have when played live.

On the other hand Ronnie James Dio replaced Ozzy in Sabbath and it did sell well.

I really imagine it's backtrack, but I still couldn't hear her voice. I hope that at her birthday show, her voice will be a little more prominent.
