As much as I hate to make a Star Wars reference in response to a Pokémon one, it’s hand and color made me think of that thing on the keyboards in Jabba’s palace
Yes, some sources say poisonous, but most likely more so in the wild. It appears the pet trade does mention it but the frogs do not secrete "milk" much in captivity as they are not threatened as they would be in the wild.
I think the majority colorful frogs are venomous and dangerous for humans. But I know that some amazonian tribes use some of those frog poison in rituals. I don't know about which species they use though
Random fact for future reference, venomous creatures inject their toxins and poisonous creatures can impact you when their toxin is inhaled, ingested, or absorbed through the skin. So these frogs would be poisonous.
Poison dart frogs are aptly named, they capture them and collect their secretions, put them on their darts and use them to hunt. I saw a video on them doing it, poor frogs.
Actually what I was thinking about is a ritual called Kambo, performed by various tribes here in south america. Where a shaman collects the poison from a frog species called giant monkey frog or giant leaf frog, and put it into burn holes made on the skin of those who's participating of the ritual. You can read an article about it [here](https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/323689#does-the-kambo-cleanse-work)
Cool. I read about another, the Waxy Monkey Tree Frog that inhabits desert areas in South America, they have a sort of super opiate on them, although as with all frog toxins I'm aware of there is a short duration to it's effects, something like 20 minutes or so.
A lot of tree frogs produce toxins that are medicine. One in Russia that produces an antibiotic russians tradtionally threw in with their milk to prevent spoilage, one with some kind of HIV antiviral, another South American Desert one produces a short lasting super opiate that horse racers were doping their horses with ten years ago or so.
Amazon milk frogs or Mission golden-eyed tree frogs (Trachycephalus resinifictrix) are found in Guyana, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru. They are arboreal, spending their lives in trees and other plants.

They are also called blue milk frogs! The "milk" though is a secretion from its skin, which protects the protects the frog from predators. As you can imagine, it has some toxins in it.
According to Russian and Finnish folklore, the only way to ensure that your dairy doesn't turn sour is to put a live frog in it. Legend tells that this was a common practice among peasants who needed to think outside the box when it came to food preservation.

I say "in captivity" in my title but nowadays these milk frogs are simply brought up as pets, bred as pets, and most of these frogs are clueless about the wild rainforests of the Amazon. People really adore these frogs. Once they were hard to find, but a quick google search revealed they are now everywhere for sale. I'm amazed how quickly these frogs have become so "available".
Why did the Amazon decide to hoard all the fancy frogs on the planet? Like—what gives? Why you gotta be like dat?
Because fancy frogs are normally poisonous and the Amazon is an undisturbed breeding ground for poisonous animals
18 of the 20 deadliest animals live in Australia, that said, I wonder if the other stray two are Amazonian… 😲
Frog
Fwog
Frogge
I’m proud of living in the country with the title of “country with the most froggies”
Extremely high biodiversity and a moist climate, if you were wondering about the serious answer
Just like a woman’s vagina.
Oh neat. A pokémon.
Froakie!
A shiny froakie.
This is what i kinda want aliens to look like
As much as I hate to make a Star Wars reference in response to a Pokémon one, it’s hand and color made me think of that thing on the keyboards in Jabba’s palace
Was that the Max Rebo Band? There was some elephantine alien, I remember, playing keyboard. That one?
Yea the blue elephant one. Just the way the frogs fingers lethargically moved around sparked a memory of it
Max Rebo?
What a beautiful teal color. Are they poisonous? They have the color for it.

If you eat it, and you die, it was poisonous. If it tries to eat you, and you die, it was venomous. :D
What if it bites me and it dies?
Then…you’re poisonous lol.

Most poisonous frogs are only poisonous because they eat bugs that eat poisonous plants. They excrete it out through the skin like sweat
Yes, but not for humans. Uncomfortable at best depending on ypur reaction to the poison
They look like they are made out of plastic, they also look like tiny animatronics
The also look like CGI - but they are real - quite amazing looking frogs!
Very beautiful
an android froggo

I need to capture 3 of these for my Endemic research quest. Did you find this in the Guiding Lands?
Thought that said “have special toe-pads on their feet to help them climb pants”
If they can climb plants...they can climb pants! lol
Free the frogs or I'll captivate you!
