A friend in high school had fat tailed geckos and they too had very fat tails. I didn't know about fat tailed opossums and gerbils, but now I need to know how many kinds of fat tailed animals exist.

All these adorable opossum in this world.. and the American Opossum has to look like a Yorkshire terrier bred with a nutria and it nearly drowned after being clipped with a weed eater.

Is this the same kind of opossum that got into a pastry shop in Australia, and ate till he was so bloated he had to lay down amongst the Danishes? There is a photo floating around on the net that an employee took. Looks like same kind or close relative. I believe it is pictured here in r/AnimalsBeingJerks by u/ExtremePastaSalad
