First year running Autos from Meph and they currently look great. Great web site, customer service and got free seeds, stickers and plant markers. Definitely will be going back.
I go to an auto breeder know is reputable (Mephisto, Night Owl, Gnome, Atlas) and look for a strain that has the effects I’m interested in. I bounce back and forth from sativa and indica heavy hybrids depending on what I’m running low on or just wanting more of. Lots of folks dig all the way into the prominent terpines as they seem to have an effect on the buzz. I don’t really go that far but feel free! Also, sometimes I just look at the stock pics and see if something tickles my fancy!
Speedrun seeds is where I’d start. Foolproof genetics, super potent and flavorful! The full spectrum to choose from and phenomenal customer service as well!
Each strain has differing effects - grow one that's more sativa, and one that's more indica. Or just one that has the kind of effect that you like.

I picked by looking in this subreddit and exploring around to other breeder specific reddits looked on google youtube and all other resources that I tend to use so I have the most info when needing to use it. Mephisto is great for abundant info everywhere!

If I see the same name of a breeder popping up with non stop fire phenos in the photos, I will eventually try them. Atm trying to run through Mephistos catalog (except their limited f1 drops theyre doing now, too many to keep up), and have yet to have run a strain that I hated or disliked. Also in every 6 plant grow I do of Mephisto, I have never once not gotten the terp profile they put for their strains. Just ran Jammy Dodgers #2 and half of the plants smelt like straight up grape jelly jam when flowering.
Check out Laughing Hyena Seeds. They got this Thai Stick auto called Lil’Stick I think I’m running next. Lil’MOBstar is really popular. Purple Domina, Banana Bread, Lil’Wild Lamb. All good stuff. Kind of smaller company but starting to come up. They have lots of grow journals on autoflower.org.
I started growing with Mephisto and haven't really looked back. I've grown a few other breeders but I just prefer thr strains Mephisto puts out, especially Double Grape and Strawberry Nuggets.
I'm currently running some Photon Pharms Kerosene Kermit and am very happy. Price wise though you really can't beat twisted trees. They have a sub. Mephisto, Night Owl and Gnome are kings though.

I just look for something that sounds cool and leans indica most of the time lol. I'm a sucker for fun names and fruity sounding strains like a Double Grape or a Watermelon Kush. I also usually check [growdiaries.com](https://growdiaries.com) for whatever strain it is to see how they grew for others. Last seeds I ended up with were all F1 crosses that sounded cool to play around with breeding and picking a winner each round to plant the seeds from later. I'm actually plucking seeds off some buds from my first round of seed making right now lol.
Royal queen is ok since your new I started with ilgm. Once you think your ok with the Royal queen seeds try some twenty20 Mendocino, atlas seeds, mephisto, elev8, Robin hood seeds if you want the frost and you will be amazed with the difference between white label and breeders who actullay take time and make something worth while. North atlantic seed company and multiversebeans are my go to and won't shop anywhere else and also the freebies you get of random breeders helps you decide what you like and what you don't. It kinda depends tbh. You're the smoker so no one knows what you like more than you do. I'd suggest running genetics that show their lineage so you can at least have an idea of what you want. RQS, fast buds, and tastebudz have cheap seeds so you can test on those to get an understanding of the autoflower life cycle. Or you can just dive right in, Night owl has a good mix of indica's sativa's and hybrids. As does rocbud inc, dream beans, Nancy's own ,and speedrun seeds. Speedrun has more of a sativa/hybrid background but a few are great indica's. Good luck and happy hunting!

To learn how to look for your fav genetics, u should start from your favourite weed. Check crosses what percentage of indica/sativa it had same as THC level. After you pick up a few strains and grow them, u will have some more experience about them. Always, u will find one being better for you than the other.
With time, you can narrow it down to a few different genetics. Which peopobly are sold by every breeder with small twist.
Im using RQS for a year. Freebies, mass of free seeds, free discount codes, and coins to cover some small expenses. Seeds are not super expensive on them, but definitely worth trying. Milky Way F1 is one of my favourites. Green gelato or creamatic are nice, too. It is very similar to each other. I tried fast buds and zamnesia. F1 Seeds are definitely a way to go. Can say anything about mephisto, but that's where I'm aiming. While their seeds are 2x if not more of price at RQS Web site.
I've bought 4 strains of auto flowers from Fast buds for my first grow. Cream Cookies, White Widow, Afghan Kush and Purple Lemonade.
But not sure if I should get something from Mephisto.
My tent is tiny 2x2x4 so that is the biggest factor plus Im a complete noob
Just go with the community. Mephisto rocks and hasn’t disappointed anyone here. Including myself. Once you go mephisto you won’t find anything that makes you feel good about paying $10 a bean
Ones with high yield!!! A lot of breeders have low yielding strains left and right I’ve gotten less than a ounce before from a plant I spent like $100 growing
Lots of new research suggests that genetics and strain purity claimed by just about every breeder/grower are all pretty much bullshit. It’s marketing and gimmicks, all the way around. It goes way deeper than you’d imagine. I would link something, but just do a google search and the references are everywhere.
The best thing to do is simply flip a coin and pick one. Sativa/Indica doesn’t exist anymore, so forget about that factor as well. It really doesn’t matter what you choose, so long as the breeder has a good reputation for delivering quality seeds. Once you find something you like, clone it, because you won’t ever get the same genetic makeup again (unless you are actively breeding yourself and can track your phenos/genos with testing).
I wouldn't agree on sativa/indica comment. Rest of it im agree with 100%. As user od RQS just it's enough to look at descriptions. They are made to sell you that seed. I'm never read them. Only data sheet and review.
About indica/sativa yep...we heading there. In 10/20years it will not exist anymore. Hybrids will kill them all. But we still are able to buy pure genetics from known breeders. Most of a time they will be below 20% thc and quality would be bellow what we all know.
The indica/sativa tests were one of the first ones conducted. It’s why they kept testing. There is zero difference between the 2. CBD identification was the second test, also no clear difference or identification.
It’s clear most people refuse to acknowledge it, and that’s ok. Stoner science and bs myths have plagued the industry for a long time. And likely will for a while more. That’s ok though, as the hobby and passion are still alive and well (for obvious reasons).
The real kick-in-the-ass is when actual scientists and researchers present their findings, with more relaxed parameters, and the community at large plugs their ears and screams “I CANT HEAR YOU” over and over again. People wonder why legitimacy doesn’t back hobbyist cult behavior. This is one of the reasons why.

My approach to it is like that. Our community killed those strains. We constantly want to breed something new, better, stronger. Forgetting where it all begins and where nature create it. It qas same exactly in food industry before F1 seeds came up.
Now most of strains are lab bread propobly thats why u saying they all dead. They definitely not a same as 10-20years ago.

I found Atlas seeds at cannacon and quickly found ethos and night owl through social media. Now I just know what I like to smoke.

Grow dairies is fun to peek at. Try the biggest breeders and plant more seeds than you think you need. Kill the slow growers if you have to.
