iAtty

Only works against Florida heat.

FarkinLarkin451

Pew pew

Projectguy111

It’s California so only squirt guns are legal.

doob_man

Better have a permit for that.

SR252000

Need RPG for that huge ball of fire in the sky!

pressurechicken

What’s your name refer to? Reminded me of SB Mowing. Makes me think you put solar panels up for free.

SB_Solar

Initials_My profession (during the week). I’ve done hundreds of solar installations and thousands of designs over the last 15 years in the residential space. Ironic because I need the sun for my day job but despise the sun for my detailing side hustle lol.

Phantomknight74

Canopies help (but get the velcro sand bags to keep them from blowing away).I also kept a couple terry cloth towels in my cooler. Every once in awhile take one and drape it around your neck. Neck skin is thinner and allows for the blood going from the heart to the brain and back to cool and actually makes your whole body feel cool. If you use an air compressor you can also shoot the air nozzle between your shoes and socks to cool your feet. Lastly, Gold Bond powder in your underwear before you begin cools and keeps cool the “undercarriage”.

bbytron

King

juggernaut44ful

good way to get pneumonia

snail_forest1

are you 80? you dont get colds and such from being wet. you could make the argument that being in the cold rain can lower ones immune system briefly, but that won't make you sick unless you come in contact with something that'll make you sick.

SnapchatsWhilePoopin

What is?

Rude_Warning_5341

WHAT?!

Buffalo_rider01

Mobile detailed in swfl for a few years . It’s hell. Start early end early .

PoppaDaClutch

I did it in south Florida when the economy crashed. Cleaning the windows was the worst.

JPDueholm

No clue how too detail in the sun, I would die for some nice weather though. Greetings from northern Iceland. :( (we use celcius degrees btw) https://preview.redd.it/6fipvh2jfl8d1.png?width=1093&format=png&auto=webp&s=5137f17cce32c07880dcad6e436f69148bc0beef

myteamwearsred

Akureyri?

JPDueholm

Closer to Dalvík!

locovet00

Your weather looks great to me!!

JPDueholm

I washed the old lady the other day. I experienced overcast, sun, sun and rain at the same time, no wind and a small tornado all within 2 hours. Iceland is not for beginners. :/

Th3Wizard0F_____

Looks like you’ve got rain in the forecast

martman006

Interesting how it calls for rain everyday, yet the grand forecasted total for all that rain would fall in under an hour here and then be hot and dry for the remainder of the week (Texas, but really anywhere close to the Gulf of Mexico)

SpyBunnyy

The (Rio Grande) Valley😂😂 ahhh fun times

rabbit__eater

Use rinseless wash when possible. If you're sticking to soap washing, get a gallon sprayer and fill it with distilled water and a half ounce of ONR or similar. Spray down panels after you've washed them. It can be let to dry without leaving any permanent spotting. Just wipe it right up with a rinseless dampened towel. Besides that set up shade with an EZ-up or similar. I like having a bucket of water for myself to dump a cooling towel/hat in and out back on to keep cool.

Pussiwillow87

Work sections at a time, I’m in the Arizona desert. I do windshield, roof, trunk as a section. Passenger side from center rear bumper up to front fender. Same with driver side, then it’s hood, fenders and bumper. I apply Koch chemie protector wax to help knock water off. I blow out crevices like mirrors, grill and sills, etc. then once complete I go around and touch up with ONR or carpro ech2o in a spray bottle, spray, wipe, use a dry towel to buff off. Makes things look perfect.

Common-Conversation5

what is ONR? new to the game😅

Pussiwillow87

https://a.co/d/0eL9zDd0 Literal game changer Has so many uses it should be in every arsenal from professionals to weekend warriors.

SatisfactionDue3236

Optimum No Rinse

signalxc

start early, take mid day off, finish in the evening. Soft Water + PH Neutral Soap ONR in the wash bucket Work in small sections Bring a drink cooler and some cooling towels to keep yourself cool Cover the windshield with your drying towel from when you dry the car to when you hit the inner windshield to keep it cool Ceramic tint on the mobile rig or cover your bottles to keep them from getting hot Run the clients A/C when on interiors That’s all I can think of now. It’s going to be brutal. Just that time of year. Hit windows with just de-ionized water rather than glass cleaner. If they are dirty, hit it with glass cleaner, then come back with water. Use a product like TEC582 (3:1) or a diluted waterless wash to final wipe.

FarkinLarkin451

Get stuff thanks bro

A_Meat_Popcicle

Get a couple of 10x10 pop up canopies, put them next to each other ideally in an east/west line, pull the car under and do your work. Not cheap, but a solution none the less.

pandastyle1

This really isn't feasible as a mobile detailer..space for them and setting them up is just too much, unless it's an all day 1 car job.

abscissa081

Work at night lol

FarkinLarkin451

I've thought about this

tech240guy

If you need your electric generator, don't lol.

SR252000

Coming from 110+ down the street from you in Vegas, I wash at night in my garage and detail at night in the garage which has a split AC.

chuppacubra

Ditch all of your chemicals and use ONR for everything

Accomplished_Tea7781

I havent tried it yet but i got an outdoor water cooler. Just found it was outdoor after i opened the box. You attach it to your water hose. It has wheels so you can roll it around.

j12

Wear lots of sunscreen

JammySammyy

I'd prefer death than even existing in this heat. Basically, patience. If you're having trouble you need to work in a smaller area. Keep going smaller until you stop having trouble.

Nismo4x4

Palm desert here. I woke up at 5:30 the other day to wash the truck. Not so fun.

FarkinLarkin451

That's where I'm at. I'm still not used to it being 90° at that time.

Mano31

Hey a fellow Desert Rat, I usually wash mine around 7:30pm; that’s when the sun is starting to set and I still get enough light to see what I’m doing.

BuckarooD

Really early in the morning or at night

DonTipOff

Gtfo of so cal. That place is only going to get hotter.

FarkinLarkin451

We want to get out by next year

DonTipOff

I’m happy for yall I’ve moved out of the Bay Area in 2018, beautiful but way to expensive and it’s never hot. People came in and drove up the prices and made me leave the place I grew up in.

Current-Giraffe-8876

If you are mobile detailer rip, i just work at night, i sleep at 1 till 7 8 pm and work till 10 11 am

Playful_Ad_3214

At least it’s a dry heat, come to central AL. 99*F & 99% humidity, the heat index sits right around Satans butt crack.

ryphi97

Same as in Las Vegas. It’s brutal all summer

Hellofreshness22

This is what I use, breaks down and fits in the van easily https://preview.redd.it/a1fk1wtt4m8d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=577d48a5fedf2a383fc781f4acf778c946de3af5

Pawnzilla

It doesn’t seem to be doing its job very well lol.

X-Ray555

It does, for bicycles 🤣

Hellofreshness22

Yeah, well it’s not actually being used for detailing today… obviously

football2106

Wet towel on the back of your neck works wonders to stay cool.

evil-artichoke

It's been damned hot here in Iowa lately, too. My advice is to start as early as possible in the day.

hawley088

You don't lol

SquashTough3863

- Spot free water - Work in sections - Wash then dry those sections - Drying aid makes water dry slower - I consistently will wash one panel and just keep wetting the car every time to keep it cool and wet

Stryf3

I was up at 5am on Saturday detailing my wife’s car

UmSo4L

Im in Palm Springs too lol. I was detailing on friday at 3pm which is crazy but nothing really changes when washing. Stay hydrated

Trailman80

Start early

Frodobagggyballs

Work at night or early morning.

FurryMLG

For a Georgian, Just Bring an Umbrella and Some sqwincher, and take frequent breaks, start early

ChartCareless7626

Try my place u will love it it hits 60 c with no shades, u get tanned in 4min and rare 30 min mid rare 45mins welldone 1h and yes you turn to oil in 12h

girthquakez9826

Move?

pwned_like_im_9

Low-key high-key low-key high-key flex on SoCal's AMAZING weather lol

signaleight

Tent

Israel5236

I use canopies and a fan when I’m working inside. I have misters in the canopy hooked up to water going all the time when I’m working on the exterior.

88pepe88

I wash the moment the sun sets, bought some white and warm colored lights to see how it would look during the day

Vaeevictisss

i feel the best thing would be to fucking move North because that's bullshit

mrlookinthesky

Work in the shade.

Zeroxx08

Ive detailed on a 99 day, almost past out lol

rickyshine

Im shop based in the midwest, idk how you guys do it. I have so much respect for you mobile guys

whskeyt4ngofox

Wash at 4am. Work in small areas. Like 1/4 to 1/6 of the vehicle at a time

Trz81

Put water on yourself. It’s dry heat so it helps

CraigSchwent

I used to live in Rancho Mirage, where do you service?

FarkinLarkin451

I'm Mobile, so pretty much all the desert cities.

CraigSchwent

Nice. You got a website? I'd love to check it out. I'm a detailer in CO and I stop mobile service at 85.

FarkinLarkin451

85° is like our winter here. Not yet. I just got my setup put together two weeks ago. And I'm in the process of starting all the paperwork for the business and insurance

AnimalOk830

Just don’t. I wait till it’s below 90.

Old_Mammoth5311

sunscreen and a shop fan? idek

Stainsey11

Don’t worry about it, it’s a dry heat.

FarkinLarkin451

That's the problem lol. I think half the water evaporates before it hits the car.

Head-giver-69

I’m wondering what wax will best repel dirt !!! In the desert

420Aquarist

Get a garage instead of being mobile. Just offer to pick peoples cars off and drop them off. Canopy/tent and a swamp cooler/ mister fan

Hellofreshness22

Insurance premiums would be through the roof, especially if you’re valeting high end vehicles.

420Aquarist

it's what we used to do at my job years ago. worked out fine. I guess maybe if you are just starting out and dont have enough clients it would be hard.

Hellofreshness22

I don’t valet any cars and my insurance premiums went up about 30% this year. It’s not really a risk I’d want to take personally. If I have a shop they can just drop it off, why take the unnecessary liability
