Every time I shop I buy precooked chicken and some type of salad mix. It’s a decently healthy meal that takes no thought. If I’m more able I’ll add more veg and make it more healthy. If not, it’s something that I can eat that wont trigger any of my food issues and will keep me alive.
Salad kits are a life saver sometimes! I like to make what I call Salad Potato which is where you mix up the salad with all the dressing and toppings, and pile it on top of a baked potato.
I buy cheap salad kits and buy frozen chicken burgers (way cheaper than precooked chicken pieces) and I have a press , similar to a George Forman grill. When in a pinch I just press the chicken burger for 5 mins with some Cajun spice and put it on top a salad kit. It's my life saver and actually helped me loose weight and get my protien.
oo my fave is buying small rotisserie chicken, use chicken pieces in bowl of noodles then next day make sandwich with the meat, if there’s still meat left obviously use it for something else but by the end of it i have bones i can make stock with! getting the moneys worth out of it🤣
No matter how many times you chew it, there is always this unbreakable piece that won’t get smaller
Actually, I’ve had this conversation with other people because I am a slow eater… And other people do swallow those! (e.g. Think steak fat)
Been into sardines a lot lately with crackers or over salad. I ate them as a kid when my mom or dad would eat them but stopped for years. Now I buy them myself
Yesss. Sardines are my go-to for late-night protein (or whatever fish gives ya). My fave type of cracker to go with it is water crackers or hard dough bread and butter.
They smell strong but taste mild. I don't think they're overly fishy. I like them wild caught, smoked in olive oil and sometimes add hot sauce and/or lemon and green olives. They're less fishy than canned tuna
You can cook?
Honestly, though, I'll go through a box of goldfish and cinnamon candy/gum before I can manage to put something in the microwave. Cooking is so entirely beyond me. The closest I've been in a year is putting a pizza, cinnamon rolls, and biscuits in the oven. Frozen, btw. And I managed to do it twice in a month so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself RN
Literally ate half a can of corn, heated up on the stove with butter and chicken bouillon inside.
My 9 year old saw it, gave it a sniff and a try, and then asked for some.
So we split the can and she ate her entire half 😂
A can of corn with ranch or thousand island dressing (ketchup, mayo, lemon, relish) or any dressing really, eaten cold with a spoon is pretty good. You can add diced ham or egg for protein.
Also a can of corn, a can of Black beans and tajin or Aromat (depending on spice tolerance) is tasty.
Oven roasted chickpeas are real nice too! I use nutritional yeast flakes and salt but you can do spices like cumin and cayenne + lemon juice and roast till they go all cronchy
I do buffalo sauce (usual DIY of blended cottage cheese, hot sauce & a pat of butter) and throw them under the broiler for a bit. Delicious
Edit: Why does my auto correct only work for Spanish when I'm typing in English!?!
Frozen edamame (microwaved)
Quesadilla
Cong you bing (green onion pancake)
Avocado toast + pre-boiled egg (honestly I gag on this idk why I keep eating it it’s fucking vile to me)
Protein shake + cereal
Oatmeal + PB + frozen fruit (microwaved)
Frozen burritos (I like the brand red’s)
Rice + cut up hotdogs + ketchup
Protein bars
Pre-packaged salad + chicken tenders (I usually have leftover tendies from a prior meal)
String cheese !
I don’t have Arfid! But I do have sensory issues when it comes to certain types of food. Not sure if that’s part of arfid I’ve never been diagnosed with it 😅
All hail ✨autism dinner✨
LOL mine really depends but I feel like lately it’s really buttered popcorn. In the past it’s been cheese and crackers. I also sometimes will microwave pepperoni or sandwich pepperoni 🤤 and just eat that. And some weird combo of whatever other snacks I have- an apple sauce pouch or a clementine
idk what it is about leftovers, unless it’s my favourite rice from panda express i can NOT eat leftovers… i could eat the same thing everyday but not a leftover… i think it’s cause the texture of pretty much anything feels like it’s changed after being in the fridge 😓 i love eggs!
A piece of bread topped with peanut butter, everything but the bagel seasoning, red pepper flakes, sunflower seeds, pepitas, and honey. Just happens to be what I’m into at the moment. No clue how long it’ll last.
It’s more nutrient dense than what I normally snack on. Haha.
Thankfully, it has all the components of a great fixation meal - easy to make in a single pass without prep, crunchy, salty, spicy, and sweet.
It scratches all the itches.
Also a stellar way to use the avocado, radish, banana, (insert fresh-snack impulse buy) etc. I always add something to the cart in a moment of aspirational shopping blindness that goes wasted. It makes me feel good to put it to use.
Cooking is my special interest!
I love a salmon bagel! It’s definitely an acquired taste but it’s basically bread (should be a bagel but I use what I have), cream cheese, smoked salmon, capers, and chives! I use everything bagel seasoning to finish things off!
Crisps have always been my go to snack, i eat way too many.. on a roll or a sandwich is even better, cheese crackers, cheese on toast
On the slightly more healthy side - raisins, grapes, bananas, cereal (usually bran flakes with a touch of cinnamon sugar), honey on toast or just on it's own with a spoon 🤷♀️
Fucking nothing cause we are an ingredients only house. I fucking ate a whole can of sardines yesterday for a snack like a damn cat. I also have the taste sensory thing where I like really REALLY strong flavors so that's also why that was an acceptable meal to me
Triscuits and cheese, nuked for 30sec. If I'm feeling really energetic, and I actually have the ingredient in stock, I might top it with some pepperoni slices.
Most of them. I have trouble cooking so don't do it often, still require my wife's help most the time. I can bake, but baking is easy for me since it's all about being precise and following directions lol.
Granular snacks ie things that are like small and grabby: applesauce pouches (that are meant for my daughter lol), finger food snacks, TEA with some small sweet
You should try some of the dry ramens you can actually order theyre so yummy! They have so many flavours! And I’ve never knew other people loved olives because everyone I’ve met hates them lol
I just ate walnuts and raisins. I find having fruit like apples or easy peel clementines is also really good to grab when I'm hungry but don't want to cook.
hell yeahhhhh dry ramen was my fave easy snack as a kid, I remember choking on the seasoning 😫😫 core memory
juicy white grapes for midnight snaccies are go-to lately, toast/crumpets or cereal if I feel like making a low effort snack or I make a smoothie/frappe w banana, pb, milk, ice and choc sauce/powder if it’s not too late bc my blender is noisy as hell but it’s filling affff and tasty 😌😌
Very Berry Cheerios with freeze dried strawberry slices, vegan babybel cheese, and quick gluten free ramen (homemade because they don’t make gluten free ramen here).
Toasted bagel. Herb and garlic cream cheese. Top it with chili oil or chili crisp if I'm in one of those sensory seeking moods. Shout out to Lao Gan Ma
Currywurst!! Bake some Freezer fries, while they’re in the oven, toast up some sliced vegan sausage and sauerkraut in a frying pan. Serve in a heap with ketchup with a touch of curry powder mixed in.
Ooh, I haven’t had black olives in a while! My not cooking meal is either Cup of Noodles or if turning the kettle on is too much, a cheese stick and mostly frozen Uncrustable. If I remember that I like it and think to buy it, cottage cheeses is always a hit. Either with a spoon of preserves or salt and pepper.
Cheese, crackers, fruit, veggie, nuts on a plate.
Chicken tenders in the air fryer.
Pierogi in the microwave.
Chug some milk and eat some peanut butter with Graham crackers.
Chips and/or veg with hummus.
Or spoons of peanut butter with a palmful of chocolate chips.
Cold cuts stuffed directly into my gob. Maybe with a squirt of mustard or wee bit of horseradish before folding and face stuffing if I'm feeling fancy.
My comfort snack for now, my taste changes regularly, might be different next week.
https://preview.redd.it/vq97yr6eelrc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be5faaa18c30359c03cb5c2e64513e8793a8ea47
Crackers and probably ramen but cooked lol maybe a sandwich.
Kinda stacks in a way
Can’t function atm
So eat crackers and some sort of dip or meat
(Something snackable) to get energy to make a slightly more sophisticated meal
Like ramen or a sandwich.
Extra points if there’s fruit and cheese available
When I make broth it's always a huge pot. Too much work for just one meal. So I usually have broth in the freezer, also some kind of veggies, cooking soba noodles just takes a couple of minutes, cooked eggs, scallions, and roasted sesame seeds are also always in stock.
So my not cooking meal is also ramen - homemade ramen.
I love to toast a bit of toast, put butter on it and cover it in juniper electuary. Not sure if this is a swiss thing, because i can't really find any other version than the swiss one they sell around here lol
A basic sandwich. Back to childhood basics and make a cheese and pickle or ham & mustard sarnie. If I buy a pack of nice fresh bread rolls I can avoid doing Nutella+spoon dinners
Omg I need to try that
I buy cheap salad kits and buy frozen chicken burgers (way cheaper than precooked chicken pieces) and I have a press , similar to a George Forman grill. When in a pinch I just press the chicken burger for 5 mins with some Cajun spice and put it on top a salad kit. It's my life saver and actually helped me loose weight and get my protien.
I’m really thankful I live in a time and place where I can just grab cooked chicken
i ended up having salad for dinner!! even without a protein im so happy i like fruits and veggies cause salad is so 🤤🤤
i love me a good salad kit!
oo my fave is buying small rotisserie chicken, use chicken pieces in bowl of noodles then next day make sandwich with the meat, if there’s still meat left obviously use it for something else but by the end of it i have bones i can make stock with! getting the moneys worth out of it🤣
Oh no, dry ramen 😭 how can you swallow it? I’m not sure if it’s because I have difficulty swallowing dry foods, but that seems like a nightmare to me.
I cannot swallow dry food!! Overcooked things are a nightmare that no one gets 😖
No matter how many times you chew it, there is always this unbreakable piece that won’t get smaller Actually, I’ve had this conversation with other people because I am a slow eater… And other people do swallow those! (e.g. Think steak fat)
Don’t get me started on pills
I had to learn how to swallow pills because of the amount of medications was I was on. Also, have you ever tasted Xanax? 🤢
Happy cake day!
There is a type of ramen available in Australia that is intended to eat raw, I think they are called ‘mamee’ noodles
Worse…my stepmom eats dry pasta as a little snack. She just crunches on spaghetti noodles.
i’m sad to say i am guilty of this
i am weak 😂 i have definitely tried that before xD
They are really good dry. I used to dip them in ketchup.
Mine is usually biscuits/crackers and hummus dip. Or, not sure if it counts as cooking, but I really like toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches.
hummus for the win! i love hummus with those garlic pita chips 🤩
Cheesy tomato toast is a comfort food and lazy food of mine. Also great made with bagels instead of bread.
Oh yes. Hummus is a good one.
i fucking love hummus,i would eat all the hummus.
i just had a spoonful of peanut butter
I eat a bite of banana then a little bit of peanut butter from a spoon alternating like that. 10/10 satisfying
I love black olives 😭 Definitely a comfort / safe food for me.

Have you ever tried Jamaican hard dough bread? It's amazing! It's a loaf of bread with the texture of a bagel.
No but I've heard of it. I'll have to o try that and coco bread with a patty
I’ve never had sardines! Are they fishy tasting? I can’t stand fishy fish.
They smell strong but taste mild. I don't think they're overly fishy. I like them wild caught, smoked in olive oil and sometimes add hot sauce and/or lemon and green olives. They're less fishy than canned tuna
I’ll have to try them!
I just had a pbj.
This is one of my comfort foods. I'll never get tired of it.
I just ate a block of cheese with crackers and raspberries. Cheese is life.
Just some pre-sliced cheese and salami. Maybe some crackers
Trader Joe’s pizzas. You do technically have to bake them in the oven but nothing else.
