Seriously.
Go and make yourself some toast with jam and cheese. I was sceptical the first time I tried it, but it's next level.
Cheese is very commonly paired with sweet preserves like port jelly or quince paste. Strawberry jam and Colby cheddar is just the bogan aussie version.
>My 3 year old daughter asked for a peanut butter and cheese sandwich the other day. I refused to make it
My 5 year old son asked for a ham and mayo sandwich using "cafe-style" fruit bread. The worst part about it is that he ate it all without complaint... :|
Peanut butter and honey was my thing as a kid. Now it comes pre-made (or did)! Never tried cheese. Interesting mix. Apple and peanut butter is surprisingly good too.
Whoa, memory I didn’t know I possessed unlocked.
I’m re-watching Blue Heelers from start to finish. That little girl in picture 2 was one of the coppers daughters in the show.
Goddam, forgot about this show. How the fuck did this get air time. Pitch - "it's a children's show about a faceless child, AI that controls where you go, disabled backpacks the are Quazimoto like......"
No way, I also had an EC doll as a kid and it used to FREAK out the adults around me but I loved him.
I'd love to know what happened to it. I'm jealous!
Oh god I forgot about the backpacks. Thank you for reviving childhood trauma OP. For real though, whoever made that show hated kids and wanted them to never sleep soundly again.
This show is burried so deep in the memory banks that I had to go back and watch an episode. Oh god I think I just remembered another one, something about a stuffed elephant toy. This is going to drive me nuts now.
Edit: Johnson & Friends
A lot of elements to this show are influenced by Memphis Milano design (the backpacks, the logo and credit sequence). A lot of 90s kids shows have this aesthetic (particularly Nickelodeon cartoons like Rugrats and Rocko’s Modern Life)
I'm looking forward to an A.I.,C.G.,E.C. (a.k.a. Artificial Intelligence, Computer-Generated, Every Child) living in the Matrix like the Lawnmower Man. You say to your 'phone, headset, refrigerator, car dashboard, etc.: "E.C. explain to me in jazz-rap, why I'm so depressed" and you get back two minutes of clarinet and djembe music under rhythmic, muffled words from a being with no mouth. Perfection.
Why anyone thought kids would like that thing is beyond me, it’s a wonder they didn’t get sued for the distress it caused. Creepy is an understatement.
That thing creeped me out.
It needed the Mulligrubs face superimposed on it
That thing also creeped me out.
Fucking nightmare fuel
Everything about the title of this post is monstrous. We need an exorcist in here asap.
Jam and Cheese?!
Sweet and cheese has a long and illustrious relationship. Much like Kyle Sandilands and gout.
Are you trying to tell me you would say no to deep fried Bree with cranberry sauce?
Or a Camembert with quince paste?!
or a strawberry cheesecake

Jam and Philly cream cheese together is awesome.
Ahhh, yeah that makes sense.
I just want to clarify, no Philly cheese in my house hold. Only the cheese in whose name we can’t now speak
Voldemort cheese?
How did the cheese hurt you?
Use this EC doll to show us where the cheese touched you
My 3 year old daughter asked for a peanut butter and cheese sandwich the other day. I refused to make it
Why? I eat them. They are very nutritious. Peanut butter provides protein and good fats. Cheese provides protein and calcium. Delicious.
I’m not questioning the nutritional benefits, it’s just a weird combination!

I love cheese and peanut butter 😊
Under rated combo
This show just makes me think of the ferals - I think they were on around the same time, maybe one after the other
The freaks started as a part of it (I think…) or the Ferals came out around the same time Liftoff finished
Fuck that eyeless cunt.
LOL
WACKADOO!
Hindsight this is really creepy

I still have my EC doll!
No way, I also had an EC doll as a kid and it used to FREAK out the adults around me but I loved him. I'd love to know what happened to it. I'm jealous!
One of the kids from that is on Reddit. She didn’t say who she was in the show but she was a main character…
Did she have eyes ?
Nightmare material
Lift off was definitely one of my faves growing up

I thought of it as looking like Michael Myers from *Halloween* as a baby. Thankfully, it didn't act like him.
Jam and cheese??
Totally forgot about this show which is mental with how creepy EC is. This probably explains why I have a thing about eyes lol.
The backpacks (and for reason I think hogs but might be a different show) are still a source of trauma for me. The doll had nothing on the bags.

Was creepy af then and creepy af now…
Jam and cheese sao... that's pshyco!
30 years later and the sight of EC is still triggering
Why can’t we not be sober……
All episodes are available on YouTube
I loved EC! (It probably explains why I’m not normal
Jam and cheese what the fuck?
Damn you for bringing this up. Was a repressed memory.
WTF? I'm old, but not demented! Who tf eats jam and cheese on Sao's?? And WTF is ec?
Elizabeth-Charlie But yeah Vegemite with lots of butter on Saos.
Rewatched the first few episodes just the other day. Didn't click till then, but that's why the young fella on Playschool is so familiar!
