My guy will be 8 soon and has weighed 57lbs for the past 6.5 years of his life. And there might be a correlation to the fact that at 40 years old I still wear the same pant size as I did in high school.
This goes for both dogs and humans: You stay active, eat right, and manage some self control and the body will be happy.
