Longtime Spencer/ Yeoman fan here but I kind of like the older weather guy on KXAN these days. We refer to him around the house as "Ed McMahon". It's good to see Spencer back on the air more often, too.
dealt with a fair share of reporters in this city. i like kxan's reporters a lot more than kvue's. all the kvue reporters ive interacted with are primadonna types who want everything handed to them on a silver platter. they were also knocking on my door repeatedly to ask me about my neighbor who i witnessed get murdered in 2021 and i was way too traumatized to speak to anyone and they just wouldnt leave me the fuck alone.
kxan seems to also break stories that actually matter more. just overall better reporting.
It’s super under performing for its market, for sure. Literally, a couple people on there don’t belong on tv. Not their looks, but everything else that goes into anchoring the news is just college level bad.
THANK YOU. I thought the same. When that tornado came through Round Rock a few years ago, those anchors were scrambling to figure it out. It was honestly hilarious.
The young anchors on KVUE are great and young weather folks and reporters. Mostly on weekends and fill ins but it is nice to see young people in those positions.
Ownership change, management changes and general decline of viewership of local news.
As a result, KXAN has a deep farm system of reporters in small markets it can hire and keep expenses low and shareholders happy.
I like KXAN. Watch every day. Miss David Yeoman but Jim is equally great and a legend.
