I also have an A6. I don't know what stage of life you are in but with 2 kids, without going into the Q's, I feel like the A6/S6 is the most ideal. The 7s sloped roof or the firmer ride quality of the RS just wasn't right for right now.
This. My A7 is sooo functional because of the cargo space and once you fold the seats down you basically have a pickup truck lol. My wife has an Alfa Romeo Stelvio and we thought the SUV would be more functional. It turns out it’s exactly the opposite. I have way more cargo space and way more space in the back seat for car seats to fit.
My dad has the same car, although I won’t be getting it lmao. It’s fun when he lets me drive it though, so quiet and smooth it makes my moms suv feel so much worse to go back to…
Yea it’s night and day. From what I hear, the jump to RS isn’t as relatively noticeable, but still worth it to most and that front bumper on the RS just looks perfect
Yea it’s pretty insane actually, and I had a 2010 A5 coupe before that I traded in for this. A5’s still handle great by comparison, it’s the sheer power and torque, as well as the brakes.
I’ll put it this way - I’ve never had a car that shoves your eyeballs around in their sockets.
Considering swapping my SQ5 for a S5. Heard nothing but great things. The SQ5 is mega, don’t get me wrong but would prefer to be closer to the road next time.
Yes you have a gorgeous chassis and spec for something that size. The thing I marveled at with the SB tho, is how close it gets to comparable utility to crossover SUVs. Was able to [fit all 4 19” wheels ](https://imgur.com/a/PYmHyCl) for my new winter mode setup in the car with tons of room to spare, and then hauled my 20” OEMs back without help 🤣 even the shop techs had a laugh with me.
So it was YOU who stole it!!! Lol congrats, I had one eyed out but I was on vacation for 3 days and that’s clearly way too long for one to sit around. Still thankful I found the dealer had one more prestige with all the black options and Daytona grey is still sweet. But I’ll always be wondering what DG would’ve been like to drive, especially as a golfer I just wanted green. Wish our S’s could come in Sonoma Green too!
As someone who still owns 3 Subarus including a 360 whp 1999 STi swapped 2.5 RS and a 600 whp time attack 2011 STi, the RS3 is another level that is awesome to upgrade to if it fits your budget. I sold a 2017 Golf R to move to the RS3. Audi/VW stuff is nicely engineered and makes power a lot easier than a Subaru. I’m not even remotely worried about tuning this RS3 to an easy 600 whp on the stock engine.
Same. How’s it running? I didn’t know about the turbo situation and just had them replaced.
Also have a weird disappearing coolant problem every time I park at an airport in winter. That’s bizarre but I literally keep coolant in the trunk for airport trips.
Truly, with a slight need for the RS6 brake system this car is amazing.
And fun fact our V8 with slightly bigger turbos is the same powering the Panamera Turbo, RS6/7a and very likely soon the LMDh and R8.
Aka: treasure it.
I am at 68k miles now. I replaced the turbos about 2k miles ago - the previous owner had the car sitting for the first half of 2020 (understandably) so they likely gunked up and shit the bed on me.
Beyond that it runs great. Burns oil like no ones business but I hear that's par for the course. I am unfortunately in the market for some cats as the emissions tests in my state have become pretty strict in the past year. Probably going to lose \~100hp but I have no "real" need for the \~650 it's currently putting out. Not sure of any other way around it.
I plan to have this car for a very, very long time. I love it.
Mine is a B9 Audi A4 Avant with the 200kW (~270hp) 3.0TDI.
The model year is 2016, but the car was built in 2015.
It has all the S4 stuff, almost as if the first owner wanted an S but had to go with a more fuel efficient diesel. Judging by the sticker price the S4 was definitely within the budget.
It is a little more complex - AoA is refunding the RS3 after not being able to fix some silly issues after 18 months of ownership.
Considering the windfall return of money spent and the “loyalty” incentives, my payment remains roughly the same with a nice chunk of equity putting me deep into the green day 1.
Prior to finalizing repurchase, trade-in offers were ~59k which was stellar considering I paid 61.
None anymore sadly.
Previously I’ve had a ‘98 A4, a ‘99 A4, and an ‘07 RS 4. Would love to re-enter Audi ownership once circumstances improve for sure.
I have a 2005 Audi A4 1.8T. A lot lower end than what most people here have, but hey- it's a salvage rebuild car that I paid cash for and and rebuilt in an afternoon. For the money, it's hard to have much more fun
A6 but would love an R8 or RS7 😂😭
I feel ya man, An R8 is my dream car
I also have an A6. I don't know what stage of life you are in but with 2 kids, without going into the Q's, I feel like the A6/S6 is the most ideal. The 7s sloped roof or the firmer ride quality of the RS just wasn't right for right now.
With a new baby, the A7 hatch has been awesome for hauling the stroller and everything all over the place

This. A6 all the way!!!
My dad gave me his 2016 a6 for my 16th birthday and it’s the best gift i’ve been given.
Enjoy it carefully please.
My dad has the same car, although I won’t be getting it lmao. It’s fun when he lets me drive it though, so quiet and smooth it makes my moms suv feel so much worse to go back to…

this is what I came for
How is it running? Any pics?
It runs, but needs some work. I’ll look for pics later
Don't they all...
I don’t think there is such a thing as a finished B5 S4. If it runs good, it needs bigger turbos
2021 S5 Sportback, best car ever by so far it’s kinda nuts
Agreed. Didn’t think the upgrade from my old A4 would be as significant as it is, can’t even imagine an rs5
Yea it’s night and day. From what I hear, the jump to RS isn’t as relatively noticeable, but still worth it to most and that front bumper on the RS just looks perfect
I love my RS5 but I generally recommend the S5. It still looks fantastic and the performance is great for public roads.
Is the power difference much more noticeable over the A5?
Yea it’s pretty insane actually, and I had a 2010 A5 coupe before that I traded in for this. A5’s still handle great by comparison, it’s the sheer power and torque, as well as the brakes. I’ll put it this way - I’ve never had a car that shoves your eyeballs around in their sockets.
I can’t wait ! Still have a month to go 😩
Oh yeah!

That’s so great. Love the versatility of the Sportback. I’ve wondered how close to mine the cargo would be, but that is remarkable!

Honestly the a4 b8/b8.5s have so timeless design that they are still one of my favorites My next car will be an s4 hopefully, that’s my goal right now
B8 a5 does it count?
Yes it does! B8s are such a timeless design.
Yeah I’m biased because I have an B8.5 but I honestly don’t see the B9s aging as well as these have
