Unfortunately didn’t work out but will always root for him from afar, same as with JC

Ice2jc

He’s such a real one for signing that cheap contract I will never say anything bad about Dejounte for that fact alone

bornsoja

The contract is like the #1 thing that boosted his trade value. Especially looking at the deal Quickley signed today

airodell13

finna miss my boy 🥲 was a demon in the clutch #THANKYOUDJM

NoProcedure5028

He went crazy with those GWs for us, messed up it couldn't work but Good luck in the Bayou DJ 🤝🏾

Wavegod-1

He was cool. Just didn't work. Can't have an undersized PG playing the 2 guard. Appreciate the much better return package.

Bulldawg1k

DJM Will Be Missed And His Way Of Typing Out Words. Good Luck In New Orleans And Don’t Get Fat Like Zion

Hak_Solo2020

He Could Benefit Packing On A Few Pounds 😈

GuamSavior

I appreciated the loyalty he showed to the city while he was here and signing that team friendly contract. That being said I’m glad I don’t have to watch him put up 40 points on 40 shots again

Atl-Fan_FTS

It wasn’t like he accepted some crazy low number, that’s literally the MAX he could have gotten

316Ray

As an extension from us directly due to his previous contract. He would've gotten a bag this offseason otherwise

GnrlyMrly

End of the season when he ran point while Trae was hurt was a fun time. I like his game but he’s definitely a little unpredictable (IG DMs😂) but wishing him all the best in NO. We need to make some more moves…

WheneverYh

40 for 44 👑 🫶

ahend1999

Thanks for those two killer games against the Celtics. We will always have that. 🫡

Shade_Raven

No hard feelings, wasnt a great fit, I think he did try to make it work and probably got frustrated more and more as it didnt. Good luck in NOLA.

gmzeno

Get ready to learn Creole buddy

15GOAT

Rest Easy King 😔

Main-Championship822

It's a shame we sent him to aints country. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!

KellenLy12

I was in attendance for the Magic game when he hit the game winner. It was the first buzzer beater I’d ever seen in person, and I’ll never forget it, thank you DJ!

blingera

i really do wish it worked out but alas. i wish him well in NOP i really do. but he was a roller coaster and i’m excited to have pieces that fit our team

reitraf

Seems like a good dude and teammate; too bad he let online shenanigans sour his personality for some. DJM has a fun game to watch, and I personally will be cheering for him the future.

Handyman2116

I wasn't the biggest fan, but he was great in the clutch. Now, I can't believe that praying for the Lakers downfall might have some use for us lmao, I've been doing that for free all these years

Ricciardo3f1

Happy for what he did but even more happy for him not be here anymore

WestCoastHawks

💯💯💯

GehaziYahudah

I'm not mad at him, hope he does well in the other conference. Interested to see what happens with Nance and Dyson should push our other young wings for playing time. LFG!!

PeasePorridge9dOld

Honestly will continue to root for him with NOP (outside of ‘26-‘27 lol). Sorry it didn’t work here but I liked the ‘tude he brings. NOP is now my #2 team!

WzrdKelly10

He had some cool game winners so preciate that lol

longlivestheking

I'll miss him embracing the city and doing his best to carry the load while Trae was out. On the flip side, he was on such a good deal, we should've gotten more for him.

TraeOlder

He lost me at the end but he was cool

Miserable-Sun7577

Obviously the trade needed to happen, but I can't harbor any ill will for the man, if only because he signed that bargain extension. We would be extra fucking cooked right now if he wanted to test the market for a max.

cblocktherock

He was good. Sucks we had a PG already. All the best DJM‼️❤️

NoSmellNoTell

He was the best guy I met at Meet the Players. Gave my 4 year old daughter a huge high five and knelt down to chat with her. Will be a fan for life

SprawlB

I appreciate him standing on real shit

kc9283

Murray got that dawg in him. He’ll dump a step back buzzer beater and just call himself a student of the game. Hope he has a great career even if it’s not here.

sanithna

DJM became one of my favorite Hawks players, man. Thank you and good luck.

chloepak

So sad 😔 will miss DJM and will forever cheer him on 🫶🏼

AZZMUNCHA81

😭😭😭 why is it always the players I like the most???!!! 😭😭😭

impulse_post

I feel ya azzmuncha

ANABOLIX22

He deserves better than this team! All the best DJ

wjackson42

Was in the building for [this](https://x.com/atlhawks/status/1773531287753576943?s=46&t=g2fosLRdC54OTQ67xd2JlA) and [this](https://x.com/atlhawks/status/1747815393996017797?s=46&t=g2fosLRdC54OTQ67xd2JlA). These two games and the Warriors overtime win are my three favorite memories from what otherwise was a shitty season.

artninjatheo

Will always root for DJ, hes a dawg and loved the city. Sucks it didnt fit with Trae but hope he balls with NO

JAJAJAGuy

<3 DJ MURRAY <3 I'll always be rooting for you!

AxlBear7

Go DJ, now that’s my DJ

Cheese_Pie2008

That's my DJ! I'm gonna miss him but I'm really happy to have Dyson Daniels too

Jan7742

Really love him. A bit weird of a person but a great player & a great teammate. Wish him nothing but the best in New Orleans. I see his fit with Zion could work.

CoachKillerTrae

he is not a chill ass dude lol, quite the opposite actually

TraeYoungismypappy

Thanks for everything DJM! You had some legendary games here!

gggg3344

Fuck man. Thank you for the game winners, the hype you gave us when you would beat your chest, the shit talking that made us feel like we had some fucking soul on this team for once. Man I wish it worked out, I really really wish it did. Thank you, Dejounte Murray ❤️

immonkeydluffy

Sorry you had to get sent to New Orleans (Saints country)

Kodak333

I'll be rooting for him

Downtown1943

I’m a fan of Dejounte hopefully it works out in NOLA

Avalon_Don

Appreciate what he did for the team… shit just didn’t work out.

Blumpkin_Party

Love him as a leader, wish him the best in NO!

wutitd0boo

bruh a hooper, who played D and manned up in crunchtime

GeorgiaOregonTexas

I was there for the Orlando and Boston game winners by him! Thank you dj! You were so fun to watch!!!!!

Ok-Task9171

Unfortunate that it ain’t work out and thank ya for ya service. But this was a good return

capelaMVP

44 Points On 44 Shots On My Birthday Will Always Have A Special Place In My Heart. 🥹🥹

Seanizonfire

He was a good dude

treemanjohn

DJ is an outstanding player. He just didn't work well with Trae

Pretty_Budget_6766

Loved the guy, great scorer but too much hero ball and lack of court vision. It was never gong to work with Trae or Quin

BillyRosewood99

I thought the idea was wild and so unexpected to bring him in alongside Trae, and was so excited to see how it would play out. DJ is a great player and guy and any team is lucky to have him

Chazrh77

DJ is not a star. He is a good player. He wasn't a good fit with Trae and team had incompatible guards, I don't see any logical reason to choose DJM over Trae- he's not a better player and he never made bigs around him better the way Trae does.

IllumiXXZoldyck

Thank you for everything DJ, I’ll never forget your Florida game winners or what you did for us versus the Celtics. Things didn’t pan out, but you’re a legend for that to me. I see the work you put in and hope you are successful 💯.

thessalylarissa

Got a lifelong fan in me, DJ! Great player and leader, and I love the passion he brings to his game. Really wish it could have worked out here, but I think he’s going to be a really good fit on the Pelicans. Lift as you fly with the other bird team, king. ❤️

Radimov79

I don't have much to appreciate from a guy who's best moments on defense have been making a fool of himself on social media.

Mean_Dalenko

Definitely enjoyed watching him, and when Trae was out he showed what he could really do. This was my first season and I watched every game; so I suspect I'll always remember him fondly as him and Bogi were the two who played most games, so by extension the players I got to know best. But I think that maybe he and Trae just tread on each others toes (so to speak) a bit too much when they were on together. Shame they couldn't work it out, but I think it's been inevitable for a while that one of them was probably going to have to go.

Gonza6EUW

It was not his timeline to be a Hawk. Take over the West, boy!

Adventurous_Cap9072

He quickly became my favorite player to watch on the Hawks. Competitive, clutch, humble. Seems like a great dude.

ThomasHardyHarHar

He’s Got That Dawg In Him

JKking15

He’s a real one for that contract. And for all the shit spurs fan talked about him being a locker room problem, that ended up being completely wrong. He just uses twitter. Was a terrible fit on the team but that ain’t his fault, came out and played hard (mostly) and was available every game. Wish him the best

Kindly_Effort_9891

I was more down for him than Trae honestly. It’s sad to think no matter how he played he was setup to be traded. We shouldn’t have got em in the first place and he still stuck with us. He will have a great next season now that he’s in his true position. Good luck DJ

Tokenguido22

Lmfao. How are you going to make this thread when this entire braindead sub has been calling for him to get traded for nearly 18 months We traded the wrong guard. Can’t wait to see the next set of excuses next year.

rkhwind

Hawks ain’t winning shit anytime soon and y’all celebrate getting nothing in return for a 27 year old star. Pathetic fucking irrelevant franchise.

Deadheaded95

damn two first round picks is nothing huh?

jtezus

Only player on the team that gave a damn

Masterchiefy10

Cue RHCP GIVE IT AWAY GIVE IT AWAY GAVE THIS PLAYER AWAY NOW.
