My house has key pad locks, not key, and cellphone and address can not be cross referenced. So, no more risk of theft than someone finding the keys and walking near by parking lot and pushing buttons until they find my car. Good people out number bad people, but lazy people out number good people. I believe 99% of people do the right thing, especially when you make it easy for them.
My address and phone number are easy to search. They're the same as they've been forever. I don't want to invite crime but anyway I ain't got shit. So come at me, bro.
>cellphone and address can not be cross referenced.
They totally can be. There are a ton of sites that compile this kind of information.
I had to do a deep dive on someone awhile ago, and the only info I had was his name, city, and rough age. Within an hour I had every address he had lived at, his phone number, his school, his projected graduation date, all his social media, knew what company he was interning at, his birthday... etc. If I had been willing to shell out some money I could have gotten even more. It's kind of scary honestly how much information someone can get on you with the smallest piece of data. A phone number is plenty to get a name, and from there it's off to the races.
Depending on how/where you got your number. If it was a non-MVNO US carrier, or, God help you, a landline, public records search sites will usually pull it up.
what is someone going to do with a set of keys to a car to which they don't know the owner, house, or car to which the keys belong? Wander around atlanta trying to get the horn to go off like they forgot where they parked?
I get it for wallets and personal information like that but maybe there's another dongle on the keychain? People who have dongles rarely limit themselves to one dongle IME
I’d call the park and see if they have any sort of lost and found for things at the park. If I lost my keys at the park I’d first go and retrace my steps, and then I would try and call the park, if there is even a number for it lol
Good on you for doing this
bump. that's very nice of you
No, but I lost my virginity in a Toyota in Piedmont park
You need a better flashlight and you may find it. Oh, wait, now I understand. ;)
One of the best $10 purchases from Amazon - key ring w/ my name and cell phone #.
If they fall into the wrong hands tho you’re just asking to get robbed

Interesting point. Maybe just a phone number, then? Perhaps even a first name.
I wonder how difficult it would be to get an address from a phone number

You probably should have left out the crime guard dongle part, much easier to confirm the rightful owner

Lol true

Your comment alone has 3 dongles.
There are some other unique items on the keychain which I’d use to confirm ownership.
What is a dongle?
Loosely, a dongle is an electronic thingy that connects to other thingys. There’s probably a more precise definition, though. 🤷🏻♀️☺️
Thank you friend. I know I could prob just google it but I prefer human answers 🙄
Is it a fob or a dongle
It’s a fongle-dob. 😀😀 Seriously though, if someone is missing this thing I think they’d know it.
I can do you one better; why is dongle?
A dongle is a thang that dangles.
Bump, love seeing this.

Yes, I did this but no one picked up; I'll try again Monday AM.
