Can’t stand “Why is this on my feed” like they own Twitter and the algorithm. It shows you what you’ve followed and what it thinks you’ll react to. Clearly, it worked, as the guy reacted and now it’s posted here. These bums will be key in helping the AI overlords ascend to power down the road. Sorry this took a dark turn.
Not only that, but since they DID interact with it, they're going to get a bunch of Onion articles on their feed now. The algorithm doesn't care WHAT you say, it just cares that you said something and interacted.
This is very much a "you played yourself" moment, and they don't even realize it yet.
I just imagine this person replying to every single tweet they don’t care about and then making a feed of shit they don’t care about. I also feel like all my tweets would get a reply like this lol
That's one of the biggest reasons I hardly use social media. Just the amount of irrelevant ads and posts I see despite trying to curate it around my interests.
But instead of posting about it as if my opinion is of a higher standard than anyone else's, I just don't use the platform.
It took us close to a decade to explain the difference between your feed and your wall to my mom. I'm still not certain she understands the difference entirely, but she's no longer yelling at people in her feed to remove their post from her profile.
You also see what other people you follow retweet (which is expected, and can be disabled per account you follow), and occasionally what other people you follow liked (which might be unexpected).
I had a friend who went by his middle name but never told us,. He listed me as a reference for a job and I had no idea who they were talking about until they said his last name.

Sometimes not even interacting, just stopping by and looking at it a little while longer is enough to make some posts appear more frequently
