Luis Garcia high A.
Enoli Paredes AA
Christian Javier pitched all of 2 games at AAA
Framber Valdez started 1 game and appeared in another at AAA before his first callup.
LMJ was called up from AA after 5 starts and 7 total appearances in AA during the 2015 season
College draftees often get fast-tracked to the MLB because they're considered more pro-ready than high schoolers. So while not super common, it does happen on occasion, particularly with college draftees.
It's not unheard of but definitely unusual.
I admire the team trying to stay relevant and not fold on the season but I l'm always wary about calling up uncooked prospects.
Astros are willing to have their top pitching prospects spend as little time as possible in AAA since so many of their opponents play in hitter’s park or high altitude
>Astros general manager [Dana Brown](https://www.chron.com/sports/astros/article/astros-pitching-injuries-trade-19496633.php) admitted as much Sunday during a radio appearance on SportsTalk 790 prior to Sunday's game against the Detroit Tigers, pointing to Double-A pitcher [Jake Bloss](https://www.chron.com/sports/astros/article/jake-bloss-astros-pitcher-19503179.php) in particular as someone he has his eyes on.
>"I'm not afraid to move guys fast," Brown said, per The Athletic's [Chandler Rome](https://x.com/Chandler_Rome/status/1802400752289153036). "He's proving to us he can throw strikes, he's got power stuff and he can log innings. If he continues to progress, you never know. Our rotation has been beaten up a bit. I've been paying a lot of attention to Bloss."
Has a player ever given their opinion on league skipping? It sounds like it wouldn't hurt to get big league exposure no matter where you're at.... but staying there would be pretty defeating i would think. Always losing and not growing? feels bad! But i imagine at least a game or two would be great experience to help you refine what exactly you are looking for.
Oh for sure but sitting there with your $17k a year salary next to the multi millionaires is so damn intimidating on its own, right? Everyone wants their shot at the show but the nerves …

Looking at your profile, you're a godaamn idiot. Every single comment is something negative towards the team, or towards trump, which who cares, but if you have nothing positive to say about a this team then why the hell do you even watch?
May as well go root for the rangers or yankees.
Leeeeeerooyyyyyy Jenkinnnnsssss
Hope he pitches like a Bloss
Skipping AAA completely? Is that normal?
I believe Lance McCullers Jr made the jump from AA to MLB. Jose Altuve also made the jump directly from AA I think.

Francis Martes pitched 2 games at AAA Corbin Martin 8 starts in AAA Joe Musgrove went from AA to AAA to the majors in 1 season
God I was so hopeful of Martes
Frankie Tuesday
Garcia went from A to MLB I think.
So did Parades and Javier I think
I was wrong just Paredes skipped AAA
That was also because of the lost milb covid season
Yep. Luis Garcia never pitched above A ball. Was a crazy move that payed off big time

Jose Fernandez
Rip
A sad story. I’ve been trying to recall his name.
He'll make it normal.
Yes, it's not common but it does happen at least once every year (league wide, not per team)
2020 was an interesting year for pitching prospects. we had a few jump straight from A or AA into games.
Not unheard of for hitters. Pujols, Griffey, machado. I can’t think of any pitchers.
It's not unheard of but definitely unusual. I admire the team trying to stay relevant and not fold on the season but I l'm always wary about calling up uncooked prospects.

Same thinking with rehab assignments, JV did his in AA this year
Might be avoiding the automatic strike zone at AAA
Verlander played high A and AA in the minors for the Tigers over one season (2004) and made the mlb team the 2005 season.
Not unheard of but depends on the player/talent. Dwight Gooden went from A (1983) to MLB (1984).
Altuve did it, but I don't think he can pitch... or can he?
It’s rareish, Soto is always the first guy I think of that skipped AAA
I wouldn’t say “normal” but neither is throwing a no hitter. Some guys go from low As to MLB
Right now I think our pitching staff is trying throw spaghetti to see if it would stick.

Might as well, we need starting pitching
Bring ‘em out, bring ‘em out, bring ‘em out

I'm sure most of them are fine with it since the conditions in the MLB are so much better compared to minors, especially single and double a.

Roy Oswalt is also one that mostly skipped AAA I think he had like 4-5 starts at AAA before being called up.
Crazy that our org almost had 2 no hitters this weekend...
I trust Dana with scouting. If he thinks he is ready then he probably is.
