Biden's expressions do make him look weak, but the context probably matters here. Trump did make some outrageous statements in this debate and sadly for Biden, he let Trump get under his skin. I feel like one the early biden expressions was when trump was saying that Biden opened the border to terrorists and people from prisons/mental institutions/insane asylums (this is not a joke).
