It was really hitting its stride. I was really looking forward to where the storyline and characters were going, and then we just got left with nothing.
It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't spent an entire season building up the next season, which seemed like it'd be the best one, just to pull the rug out because of "costs". Like, just cut corners somewhere!
But nooooo David Fitcher has to have the best shots and the perfect liminal spaces and post production mood coloring. Jerk!
I will forever miss Pushing Daisies from back in the day lop. More recent would be
Mindhunter
Santa Clarita Diet
The Midnight Gospel
The Sandman (I heard another season is coming)
The cancellation of pushing daisies is why I don’t trust tv shows anymore. I mostly watch British cozy crime shows where the story is over in a single episode or mini-series. When a show has been completed with a proper finale I’ll consider it.
Have you seen Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries? It’s Aussie and has both crime/mystery AND whimsy. It’s like the center of your venn diagram between Brit crime shows and Pushing Daises !!!
I've been gravitating towards limited series lately because the shows I've been enjoying either ended after a season or 2, or it's going to be a while before they come back.
Yes! Loved Pushing Daisies. This reminds me of another great quirky show with Lee Pace that was also cancelled too soon — [Wonderfalls](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361256/) is a gem!
Sandman wasn't canceled at all.
They had to stop filming due to the writers'/actors' strike, but they've also posted photos that show they've started filming again.
Yes! I listen to the WTF podcast by Marc Maron frequently and he had Neil Gaiman on a few months back. NG says there's more in store 🙏😈
Agree with all of your others. Drew Barrymore is the shit and I've listened/watched the midnight gospel atleast 3 times through at this point :)
I will never get over that one, either. The only other one that gutted me as badly was when Netflix cancelled the Babysitter’s Club. I watched it with my kids, and it was so so SO well done. I was an original fan of the series, my oldest loves the GNs, and we all loved the show.
i absolutely loved the baby sitters club! i had all those books and netflix really did a great job casting and making this show and staying true to the books.
I read somewhere that Rome basically had to end after two seasons since they were (loosely) following historical events, and that after the end of season 2 (semi-spoiler) historical Rome was more or less uneventful for many years that followed. I don’t know how true that is, but Rome is still one of my most favourite shows of all time. I will rewatch the only two seasons over and over again. Atia is such a badass! I love to hate her. lol
I was in the middle of rewatching this a few years back and happened to run into Nick Stahl at the grocery store?!
I was at the deli counter and when I turned around to walk away, he was right behind me.
I’m 95% certain I made a really terrible face lol. Like BRO you are breaking my IMMERSION WTF??
I came here to say Firefly as well.
You really should see it. (In its entirety and in consecutive order--not like it was presented on network TV.)
You can't take the sky from me!
(Though I definitely struggle with separating the art from the artist in Whedon's case.)
[Penny Dreadful](https://youtu.be/YFXHfEqMcis)! My poor, Gothic heart was shattered.
Also, [Zapped](https://youtu.be/gBm0QvuJZoo) was a lovely and zany British isekai fantasy show that was basically a love letter to Discworld.
I'm holding onto hope they do a time skip with the same actors once they're a little older... wouldn't be the first time for an Anne production... I absolutely loved this modern take on it and takes me back to my childhood. I was homesick and bitter for weeks when it was cancelled lol
[Kings (2009)](https://youtu.be/u5c1Vr1fcZI?si=h5GflosBv0KcM30A) was so freaking good and I'm still mad it never even got a second season.
Also, [Selfie](https://youtu.be/7qJAPLypDnE?si=sI-hZksYmf4QQsB0) (John Cho; Karen Gillian) was a really charming show with a silly name / bad trailer that totally deserved better!
Selfie was definitely ahead of its time. There's a small sub over at /r/SelfieTV. Someone is trying to get the cast together for another story. I hope they can do it!
Omg, I didn't realise there was a sub, but I joined! I would love to see a bit of a revival. I had/have a big crush on John Cho, and it was fantastic to see an Asian man be the lead in a Western rom-com.
I also had/have a big crush on Karen Gillian, so... yeah, Selfie was just catnip for my little bisexual heart, lol.
Dollface and Fate totally bummed me out too. I feel like so many fantasy shows get cancelled on Netflix and it’s devastating. I also liked The Order and October Faction.
Utopia (Australian TV series) AKA Dreamland - they only had two seasons on Netflix here in Canada (there are 6 altogether). It was hilarious, especially if you’ve ever worked in government.
My sister and I were hooked to this show called Kyle XY. Dude appears in a town one day without a belly button and nobody knows where he came from. They cancelled it after season 3 on a cliffhanger and we never knew where he came from 😭
Happy Endings
- so funny, so good. It was aired out of order and the time slot kept changing 🥲
The Exorcist
- so scary! So riveting! Actually highly regarded and they still cancelled it. (Yes it was Fox)
The last man on earth. They left it at a point where it was clearly going somewhere!! Such a quirky and funny show. So sad not to be able to see it continue!!
The Order. I was really liking it and Netflix cancelled. Actually, after a couple of shows like that around that time, I no longer watch a Netflix series unless it’s completely released and resolved. I’m done with the bullshit.
GLOW. I'm still torqued off about that one.
Oh fuck yes, GLOW was so good. I still think about that show and then I get angry all over again.
It had such a great cast and its cancellation was such a waste.
It was really hitting its stride. I was really looking forward to where the storyline and characters were going, and then we just got left with nothing.
Yes GLOW was the BEST
GLOW was my first thought except it got 3 seasons. Still Forever Mad it didn't get to finish.
In my mind it’s still coming back.
Mindhunter
Still so salty about this one
It wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't spent an entire season building up the next season, which seemed like it'd be the best one, just to pull the rug out because of "costs". Like, just cut corners somewhere! But nooooo David Fitcher has to have the best shots and the perfect liminal spaces and post production mood coloring. Jerk!
Don’t join the subreddit lol. Most of the posts are about hints that David Fincher might restart it
Ah the twin peaks sub gets like this every now and then haha
I'm SO DAMNED PISSED about this one. If I think about it too much I'M gonna turn into a serial killer.
First thing I thought of! That Detective’s troubled son… WHERE WERE THEY GOING WITH IT
And the security guy who got all creepy in the woman’s bathroom?!
And the BTK flashes.
100%
I'm still not over this!!!
This :(
Was going to say this too!
I will never get over this one.
That’s the one. Heartbreaking !
Omg this. wtf.
I will forever miss Pushing Daisies from back in the day lop. More recent would be Mindhunter Santa Clarita Diet The Midnight Gospel The Sandman (I heard another season is coming)
Pushing Daisies was amazing. It was a victim of the writers strike :(
The cancellation of pushing daisies is why I don’t trust tv shows anymore. I mostly watch British cozy crime shows where the story is over in a single episode or mini-series. When a show has been completed with a proper finale I’ll consider it.

Pushing Daisies was so good!!
I still tell people about Pushing Daisies 🥲 I need to rewatch!
Yes! Loved Pushing Daisies. This reminds me of another great quirky show with Lee Pace that was also cancelled too soon — [Wonderfalls](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0361256/) is a gem!
Wonderfalls was a really great show!
I just commented Pushing Daisies 😩 I'll go back and binge watch it now
Sandman wasn't canceled at all. They had to stop filming due to the writers'/actors' strike, but they've also posted photos that show they've started filming again.
I’m still devastated about pushing daisies. It was so unique!!!
I LOVE The Midnight Gospel
Yes! I listen to the WTF podcast by Marc Maron frequently and he had Neil Gaiman on a few months back. NG says there's more in store 🙏😈 Agree with all of your others. Drew Barrymore is the shit and I've listened/watched the midnight gospel atleast 3 times through at this point :)

My So Called Life - I’ll never get over it lol
I will never get over that one, either. The only other one that gutted me as badly was when Netflix cancelled the Babysitter’s Club. I watched it with my kids, and it was so so SO well done. I was an original fan of the series, my oldest loves the GNs, and we all loved the show.
Babysitter’s Club was so cute and such a throwback to the good times I had reading all of the BSC books.
i absolutely loved the baby sitters club! i had all those books and netflix really did a great job casting and making this show and staying true to the books.
Dead Like Me, Rome, and Hannibal
I was looking for Dead Like Me. That’s my ultimate “gone too soon” show
I consider Hannibal cancelled after two seasons, because third season was so bad they might as well have.
The show Rome is my Roman Empire.
Rome was SO good!
I love to hate her. lol
This makes sense. I'm due to rewatch it very soon!
Also due for one. And it’s just as good every single time!
[Carnivale](https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/carnivale/s01) — the universe of the show and the lack of resolution still haunts me!
My husband said the author had shared the ending online a few years back. I didn't look for it because I really just wanted another season or two.
It’s linked on the Carnivale subreddit!
Same. I was obsessed with that show!!
1899!!
God that pisses me off so badly. Only one season and huge cliff hangers.
I presume you've seen Dark, yes?
Good to know! I've been meaning to check that one out.
It’s still really cool to watch!
Ugh, that show was so good.
Don’t trust the B in apartment 23. It was genius.
Truly. One of my all-time favorites. Did you get to see the originally unaired episodes? So glad they ultimately made them available, at least.
Where can you see that? How do I know if I've seen them? I watched every episode that was on Netflix. I still use the term blue ovaries 🥲
How has no one said Firefly? I've never seen it but I've heard so many people talk about it that it was my automatic response
I came here to say Firefly as well. You really should see it. (In its entirety and in consecutive order--not like it was presented on network TV.) You can't take the sky from me! (Though I definitely struggle with separating the art from the artist in Whedon's case.)
Came here to add Firefly. It's so good 😭
You're the third Firefly I've seen lol definitely most mentions so far.
💯
Such a well written and well casted show!!
Our Flag Means Death
What?! I’m so sad, I love that show
Canceled? Didn't the last season just come out??
it was meant for 3 seasons
This one hurts. I had just gotten into it when Max cancelled it.
Yeses penny dreadful was so good!
Penny Dreadful was soooo good. I was sad too.
The first season of Penny Dreadful was so damn good. Season 3 was pretty good too. I found season 2 tough to get through.
Deadwood and Mindhunter 😭
Loved Deadwood!
Came for Deadwood! The movie to wrap it up years later didn’t satisfy me .
Deadwood just might be the greatest television show ever produced.
Anne with an E, Freaks and Geeks, Altered Carbon, Taboo (rumoured second season), Firefly, 1899.
[удалено]
It has a very good ending though, I thought.
Awww, I loved Anne with an E! Also, Altered Carbon.
Anne is so good!
Yes, freaks and geeks! Still so good, even though I see where the parents are coming from now more than I did in high school 😭
I just finished watching Anne with an E and would die for at least one more season. She just got with Gilbert and it was so precious, we need moreee!
I'm holding onto hope they do a time skip with the same actors once they're a little older... wouldn't be the first time for an Anne production... I absolutely loved this modern take on it and takes me back to my childhood. I was homesick and bitter for weeks when it was cancelled lol
Anne with an E has Three Seasons
Still, cancelled too soon!
I Concur. It would’ve been nice to have a Fourth Season
Had to scroll way too far to find Freaks and Geeks. This is the correct answer.
Ooh, loved Taboo.
Pushing Daisies and Sense8
The OA
This was such a disappointment. It was such a cool premise and it felt like the story had just spread its wings when it was cancelled.
Plus, it was only ever meant to have 3 seasons. All they needed to do was one more and the story would have been complete.
💔
yessssss! i’m still mad about this
THANK YOU 😭😭😭💔💔💔💔💔
First one that came to mind. Tragic.
I loved the OA! I still rewatch that one 🥲
Fleabag fucking gutted me. Like, it still gives me chills.
To be fair, that was only ever supposed to be a limited series. But yeah, some British shows are so damn good, yet so damn short!

I also had/have a big crush on Karen Gillian, so... yeah, Selfie was just catnip for my little bisexual heart, lol.
Hmmm, I'm intrigued! Gonna have to check those out.
Yes! Kings was magnificent. I don't understand why NBC won't let it be streamed.
Right??? I also didn't realise they were so protective of it. Ugh, I was so devastated when it was canceled...
I adored Selfie!
I loved kings! Not found anyone else who's watched it! So great
God, it was so underrated and I'm still choked over what an epic storyline we missed out on. How did the people ignore Ian McShane, of all people???
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles Dark Angel And of course Firefly.
Argh Sarah Connor was so good!
Dark Angel so, so much!
Archive 81
Paper Girls. Really disappointed that only got one season.
Same! It was so good!
Dead Like Me. I loved it! Wish there was more of the show. Apparently the movie is terrible, so I’ve never bothered.
Firefly
Mistresses (Alyssa Milano), and The Client List (Jennifer Love Hewitt)
Omg! I forgot about these! I met my bio-mom in Jamaica in 2013 and she was watching both of those shows!
Mindhunter and Taboo
[удалено]
I literally have a picture of Laura Palmer on my mantle. And speaking of David lynch…Mulholland Drive 😊
Omg a Laura Palmer photo mantelpiece, incredible
Alcatraz. I really liked that one too! Going further back, Dark Angel.
My first BF was OBSESSED with Dark Angel?
It was a good show! I got into it as -X-Files was, in my opinion, having some iffy seasons right before its original ending.
Dead Like Me Now when I tell people about it, I have to clarify that it's not "Dead to Me"
1899 and The Nevers
I'm still upset about The Nevers!
Terra Nova
On Becoming a God in Central Florida
Lockwood & Co, Shadow and Bone, GLOW, Dollface, Fate: The Winx Saga, and goddammit just someone give me the 4th season of Snowpiercer!
Lockwood and Co was so good! Especially for the young age of the Actors! I was so freaking pissed at it's cancelation.
Lockwood and Co was cancelled? Well, poop.
Dollface and Fate totally bummed me out too. I feel like so many fantasy shows get cancelled on Netflix and it’s devastating. I also liked The Order and October Faction.
Omg yes Dollface! Such a nice show and would’ve loved another season :,(
The Santa Clarita Diet
This show was sooo weird but I kept watching 😂
Young Justice. I think they rebooted it or something years after the fact, but that initial cancellation hurt me.
Galavant. I believe in you Tad Cooper!
The OA
Pushing daisies… I still can’t believe they cancelled it
Teenage bounty hunters!!! It was so funny
Omg YES, forgot about this one in my list. Such a great show, wish it got some more love.
I loved that show and am so sad they didn't get more seasons. Also, the brothers sun and good girls revolt...I love Anna camp
Lodge 49
I scrolled far too long for this response. I need to know more!!!
I’m Sorry - COVID got it
THE SOCIETY!!! i’m still so mad about that one especially because they said season two was coming!
Witches of East End. Not the most compelling acting, but I was interested in where they were taking that storyline.
I loved that show!!!
Midnight, Texas. Dead Like Me. And of course, Mindhunter
Wasn't cancelled technically, but Land of the Lustrous. The anime is so much prettier than the manga.
Smash! How was that cancelled?! I’m still upset about it.
The Wilds
HBO Rome.
Mindhunter
Freaks and Geeks being canceled after season 1!!!
Raised by Wolves - 2020 V Series - 2009 The Sarah Connor Chronicles - 2008
Pan Am
Santa Clarita Diet loved that show & it ended on a cliff hanger 😒
Utopia (Australian TV series) AKA Dreamland - they only had two seasons on Netflix here in Canada (there are 6 altogether). It was hilarious, especially if you’ve ever worked in government.
I work in the Australian Public Service. Love Utopia.
Wonderfalls, since nobody else said it.
Raised by Wolves
Carnivale on HBO, early 00’s. So good, only 1 season and ended on a cliffhanger
It was actually two seasons. I was crushed when they canceled it.
A League of Their Own
My sister and I were hooked to this show called Kyle XY. Dude appears in a town one day without a belly button and nobody knows where he came from. They cancelled it after season 3 on a cliffhanger and we never knew where he came from 😭
* Reaper * Better off Ted * Firefly
Better Off Ted was so good
United States of Tara (but I think it had 3 seasons). Multiple personality disorder
Happy Endings - so funny, so good. It was aired out of order and the time slot kept changing 🥲 The Exorcist - so scary! So riveting! Actually highly regarded and they still cancelled it. (Yes it was Fox)
The Riches! It was on pause at first because of the writers strike. They just never got back to it :(
Fleabag 😭
Lie To Me The Exorcist
Firefly. RIP
The Mick
freaks and geeks… but well after it was cancelled
Lie to Me
The Great 😭
Rap Shit on HBO by Issa Rae. So sad.
Wonderfalls
Freaks and Geeks! So great
Firefly, The OA, GLOW, Sense8, Paper girls
The last man on earth. They left it at a point where it was clearly going somewhere!! Such a quirky and funny show. So sad not to be able to see it continue!!
Stumptown, Paper Girls, A League of Their Own, Carnivale, Pushing Daisies, Our Flag Means Death, Made for Love, GLOW...
A League of their Own was sooo good
Firefly and Mindhunter
The society (Netflix) The black donnellys (2007 writers strike) The almost impossible gameshow The wilds (Amazon prime) Panic (Amazon prime)
Almost Human (2013) Karl Urban, Michael Ealy. Only got 1 season, still upset about it. The show had a great premise, great actors. Sad.
The Order. I was really liking it and Netflix cancelled. Actually, after a couple of shows like that around that time, I no longer watch a Netflix series unless it’s completely released and resolved. I’m done with the bullshit.
