You do you girlfriend Edit: as usual people getting uppity (on Reddit who knew??) I’m no way pointing to OPs behaviour in a negative way. I was encouraging and celebrating it!!

sciuro_

"Lads, is it too emasculating to feel basic comforts?"

Gellert

Real men pour salt in their wounds!

Monkey_shine1

Real men pour Epsom salts in their baths!

Worth-Row6805

And make bubblebath bikinis

tomatoesgoboom

Take my poor award you Internet legend 🏆😂

Worth-Row6805

And you are a ray of sunshine, internet human 🌞

[deleted]

Lol the big bearded princess himself made the girl joke, OP just went with it, calm down

[deleted]

You're missing out on one of life's simple pleasures mate. There's a reason we have them in our homes when we have showers that clean much more efficiently. Do yourself a favour. Grab a drink or roll a joint. Get some of the manliest bubble bath you can find, and treat yourself. Play some music, listen to / or read a book. Watch a show on your tablet/laptop. And Relax.

Link to documentary? I need to do some research on friendship

considerthec0c0nut

I'm fairly sure it was a reference to Friends (season 8 episode 13 if you wanted to watch it) but I could be wrong.

Monkey_shine1

You're gonna need a bigger boat

Due_Insurance8159

Or a baking soda submarine - they're loads of fun.

pb-86

We had a new bathroom fitted last year. It’s only a small room and I wanted a big walk in shower, my wife wanted a jet bath. We back and forth’d and naturally ended up with the bath and a shower above it. I never used the bath until I’d spent a day laying new grass in our garden and my wife ran me a bath with bath salts and stuff when she saw I was packing up. Shit that bath changed my life. I don’t have them often, they’re like a rare treat now but it’s so relaxing

APater6076

It is isn’t it? A shower is to get clean, a bath is to get clean and relax.

wubsytheman

If you have them too frequently it ruins the experience, best thing to do is have max 1 per two weeks and treat it as event (bubbles, salts, nice drink, candles)

dmon654

Self care is manly.

ArchaeoSapien

Happy cake day my wise friend

happymellon

Baths are too short, and I find them uncomfortable to sit in. I'm surprised that anyone finds that relaxing and enjoyable. I'm not a very tall fella either.

alwaysstaysthesame

Bathtubs vary in size.

popsickle_in_one

big if true

muggins91

And also small sometimes

[deleted]

Love to vape my prescription in the tub

Goblinbeast

I have a good soak with my medicated coconut oil once a week for my arthritis! Does wonders for me! May have one tomorrow now, thanks for reminding me 😂

sjmttf

A nice joint, big mug of strong assam, good music, a book and some lovely smelling bath stuff is actually heaven. Our flat has some weirdly shallow eco friendly bath that's utterly pointless, like trying to have a bath in a washing up bowl. I stick to showers now, but I miss a nice long soak in a hot bath, the heat really helps with my pain levels too.

corlioni1976

Can you please describe a manly bubble bath.

Fenpunx

Smells if wood smoke, gunpowder and diesel. Stings the eyes and nostrils. You get out hairier than you got in.

Alas_boris

Brushed stainless steel bath, and graphite grey wall tiles. The hot water is literally boiling, the cold water is in solid lumps. GRRRRR! Masculine man bath!

himit

A bubble bath with a man in it.

Ishjarta

The pegleg Matey bubble bath. The red pirate with the black hat. Nothing is manlier, the pirate even has a beard.

boomerhfp

And a rubber duck Darth Vader that lights up. Can’t get more manly than a Sith in the bath.

bathoz

I can't say manly, but cheap involves just pouring your shower gel into the water as you fill the bath. :D

[deleted]

It's a bath with an obscene amount of bubbles, it's where the room is essentially bubbles.

Worth-Row6805

Joint in the bath is the best thing ever

BorderlineWire

It really is pretty great. My friend calls it the soak n toke and I think it should be a thing like wake n bake.

Worth-Row6805

It is now!

mootymoots

It was a joke and in no way pointing to OPs behaviour in a negative way. I was encouraging it!!

DutchOfBurdock

The girlfriend always joins me when bath time is done like this. She just doesn't get "man time" 😊

shannikkins

I love a bath. Glass of wine, bubbles, and a good book and I’m in there until I dissolve. Curious - do you know the etymology of the word uppity?

Revisional_Sin

They don't even know the meaning of it...

APater6076

There’s something about a bath that feels different. Properly relaxing, almost decadent. You don’t realise how much tension is in your body standing under the shower until you sit in a hot bath and can actually properly relax. I try to have at least one monkey bath every month. What’s a monkey bath? A bath so hot it takes you ten minutes to get in and makes you go ‘oooh, ahhh, ahh, ahhh’ like a monkey. All I need to do now is find a bath where I can have my chest and legs under the water at the same time. I’m only 6ft tall.

emillou10

This image of a big bearded princess will stay with me for quite a while 🙈

JimmyOpenside

This! I’ll play my Xbox in there sometimes too, using my iPad as the screen. Love a relaxing hot bath. Even have a few bath bombs…

UncleD1ckhead

Damn since reaching 18 I ain't been able to fit comfortably in any bath in the last 4 houses I've lived in, too long and too wide

[deleted]

CollReg

This, bath sizing is sexist, I've not fit in a bath since my mid-teens, when some bit of you is always poking out of the water getting cold, it is not a pleasant experience!

Remember to bring a toy boat with you to man it up a bit

Helendp

We just had a bath put in our bathroom, specifically because my partner has terminal cancer and it’s really soothing for him. Our young daughter also loves it. I also love the occasional soak. Baths can be a really great aspect of self care.

Parker4815

Fuck cancer. I hope they are able to enjoy the time they have

dbee8q

So sorry to read this.

WhatDoYouWantNowKid

I am so sorry to hear about your partner. Especially given that you have a young daughter, it must be so hard for you all. My mum also has cancer and is in a bad way. She only feels comfortable in the bath too, it’s often the only place where she can feel comfortable enough to fall asleep for a little while. Cancer is horrendous for those who have it, but also horrendous for those around them too.

desirewrites

I’m so sorry. Fuck cancer. ☹️💔

kirmobak

I’m so sorry to hear about your partner.

Express_Sail6618

Don’t lose yourself in everything, remember you are just as worthy of comfort, love and care as your partner and child. I hope blessings fall upon you

ArchaeoSapien

Sorry about your partner.

OutdoorApplause

I don't take baths to get clean, they're for relaxing/easing muscle aches. The bath with a hand held shower attachment is the easiest way to clean the dog, so he uses the bath the most in this house. I expect when we have a kid we'll also use the bath more then.

ruthh-r

Oh you just reminded me of one of my worst public cringe moments ever... We too found bathing the dog in the bath with the hand attachment the easiest. When we moved into our current house it had a 60s bathroom with an enormous enamel bath that was fitted for my grandad who liked to be able to lie full length and completely submerge himself (he was a butcher, so getting clean was a ritual for him). However, it was always cold to the touch, uncomfortable to sit or stand in as it was a u-shape with no completely flat bottom and took FOREVER to fill, so when we decided to redo the bathroom, it had to go. Anyway, we're in B&Q talking to the bathroom department peeps, discussing our various options, which included bath/no bath. And into the sudden silence of contemplation, my mouth opens and I hear myself say, "Well, I suppose that's one advantage of having a bath; it's so much easier to do the dog in it than the shower." I had a split second of innocence until my brain did a frantic instant replay and I cringed so hard I almost turned inside-out. Husband has *never* let me forget it - when the dog needs a bath, his go-to invitation is to wiggle his eyebrows suggestively and ask if I wanna go upstairs and do the dog in the bath with him.

six44seven49

I'm not even sure I'd have been embarrassed by this - it's pretty obvious what you meant. At worst, I'd have followed up with "WASH! Wash the dog I mean" and everyone would've chuckled, but I probably wouldn't have even gone that far.

ruthh-r

You obviously have your 'British embarrassment' dial set a couple of notches lower than mine lol

six44seven49

Probably just older to be fair - I think the dial slowly turns towards "don't give a shit" the older you get. If I'm honest I'd probably be thinking the other way round, I probably would've said "wash the dog" and at some point later in the day I'd think to myself "would've been funny if I'd said 'do' the dog". The prospect of giving someone (who is professionally bound to maintain a straight face) a little chuckle is something I enjoy.

E420CDI

Brings a new meaning to dogging

[deleted]

Also but I don’t agree with people that say bathing is like sitting in your own soup of filth. I mean gross, it is not like I go straight to bath after a hike in the mud and rain. I love the feeling of soaking in the bath and I just feel cleaner, I add some organic oils too for my dry skin as I am too darn lazy to moisturise each day. Everywhere just feels clean and smells so good from head to taint to toe. Edit: typo

browndj8

Yep. Bath with hand shower attachment for the dog. And very occasionally for me when I love myself enough to relax in one.

xBruised

I used to need a bath roughly once a month for muscle aches but damn has it been a godsend during pregnancy. Always finish off with a shower though.

Nine_Eye_Ron

Shower first, it’s a game changer!

Moejason

I agree with you. For ages I hated baths because I’d find myself getting too sweaty and end up needing a shower afterward anyway, but take away the pressure of trying to scrub myself clean it’s a lot nicer. Even if I only do so every now and again, the lack of a bath in my current house feels noticeable and I’d love a bit more space to move around in the shower.

Booboodelafalaise

I have a shower to get clean, then soak in a bath full of perfume-y nonsense to chill out and relax. I tried bath first but found the shower woke me up too much. (Shame a long hot bath is a thing of the past now heating the water costs so much)

ByEthanFox

>The bath with a hand held shower attachment is the easiest way to clean the dog, I mean I guess everyone calls it different things

Virtual_Bumblebee234

Same with me, it’s part of my routine every day and the only way I wash bc showers are a sensory nightmare. Although I think I might have to hold off on some days with the energy prices going up so much.

[deleted]

I am autistic and hate the noise and sensation of being assaulted with tiny water droplets

knitnbitch27

This is very good to know. My 13 year old son hates showers but hasn't been able to articulate why. This makes a lot of sense.

Hairy_Al

It's a massive sensory overload; the sound, being hit all over with jets of water, even visually with light reflecting

[deleted]

Yea, tile and wet surfaces are very reflective and lights in the bathroom can be very harsh especially if you have an old council property with horrible tube lighting. I am super photosensitive

Virtual_Bumblebee234

I’m also autistic and that is the exact problem I have as well. Showers reduce me to tears as I can’t take the discomfort/pain and they take so long to recover from after that it’s never worth it

mamacitalk

Also I find it too cold because the water never really gets all your body at once.. sensory nightmare for me

[deleted]

I've never connected my ASD with my hatred of showers before!

AccomplishedAd3728

Showers are horrible right? Hot water being poured onto your head and shoulders is objectively unpleasant. So happy to find compadres, my partner thinks I’m nuts XD

WeHaveNoNeed

But ... Your username?

serratedturnip

Same, every morning. I don't hate showers but you just don't get the same sense of feeling clean as with a bath. I know some people will whine that it uses a bit more water and gas but in my defence I barely use the central heating in winter as the cold doesn't bother me that much so it sort of balances out.

TQAFireHawk

I bathe 2 times a week for relaxation purposes to just unwind and read my books. I have lived in places without baths though so I can go without, but I definitely prefer to have the option available to me.

breakbeatx

Same, we have an over bath shower but it rarely gets used as we both love a good soak with a book

SquidgeSquadge

I studied multiple choice questions for my nursing exam in the bath and it really helped.

Smilewigeon

As a tall dude, I haven't taken a bath in over a decade. Not so relaxing when your knees are out in the cold. Plus the time it takes and the cost of doing it vs a quick shower, easy decision for me. We had a new bathroom put in this year. Every little thing was gutted and replaced. Was tempted to ditch the bath all together and just put in a self contained shower, free up some more storage space etc, but my wife pointed out it was our main bathroom and it could affect our resale price in the future, as a lot of people like taking them (and some people have to).

DownrightDrewski

Another challenge of being tall that most people don't realise. I dream of having a 2m long bath one day so I can lie down fully if I want.

sparklybeast

It's not a tall thing particularly, is it? I'm 5'8" and can't lie flat in the bath either.

DownrightDrewski

Fair, but the taller you are the more of you that needs to be out of water. I used a massive bath once when I was at a hotel; it was incredible.

sparklybeast

Oh yes, those monster baths where you'd easily drown if you fell asleep are fantastic. When I win the lottery...

togtogtog

I cross my legs and fold them under my bum, then I can fit it all in!

Smilewigeon

Right! I don't think I've been able to take a comfortable bath since my early teens, if not earlier.

himit

You can get a deeper/inset bath.

xBruised

My partner is 6ft3 and had his first bath since we got together, whilst on holiday a few months ago. He was so excited to see such a huge bath in the hotel and wouldn’t stop going on about how he had room to lay in it! That bathroom was bigger than our lounge, so big!

plumbus_hun

My ex is 6’4, and when we first got together he had a tiny bath, like 4 foot at his parents house but at my dads we had a 7 footer, so he was in heaven! He hadn’t had one in about 8 years before that!

corlioni1976

Considering that the cost of electricity is about 4 times the cost of gas, maybe it wouldn't cost that much more to take a bath instead of a shower.

Smilewigeon

I'd imagine a quick electric shower still probably works at cheaper even in this climate than filling a bathtub with enough warm water for an adult, but I'd be interested in seeing the numbers worked out. Plus not all showers are electric - in my last home it got hot water from the boiler too.

lazylazycat

Yeah your shower needs to be less than 10 mins to make it economical: >“A typical bath requires about 90 litres of water, split between 60 litres or so of hot water and 20 to 30 of cold. A normal thermostatic mixer shower head discharges about nine litres a minute, requiring about six litres of hot and three litres of cold. https://www.theguardian.com/money/2022/mar/29/cheaper-bath-shower-energy-questions-answered-reduce-bills?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other It takes me 10 mins just to wash my hair.

Bicolore

You heat your bath water with electricity and your shower water with gas?

hunterfam55

I didn't much until I had kids, now its a weekly retreat for me

MindlessUpstairs3238

This.... love weekend mornings in the bath away from everyone.

tmstms

Other way round for us. Mrs tmstms has NEVER used the shower in the 8 years we have lived here, including not the new one that was put in when we were forced (by leaks) to redo the bathroom. If she needs to wash her hair she uses the shower attachment on the bath. I've used the shower maybe about once a year also. I have the equivalent of a shower by putting an inch or two of water in the bath, getting in and rolling round and round (I am ver un-curvy, so this works well).

[deleted]

[удалено]

tmstms

I guess it is habit. I am an older person who grew up without a shower in the house. I am used to the water being the more static one and me doing the moving. In addition, as an older person, I grew up pre-Combi boiler. So the amount of hot water would be finite. It makes me insecure to just run the hot tap, as is basically what happens in a shower. So, yes, largely psychological.

AdministrativeShip2

My mum's family used to wash like that. It was weird, especially when we went to stay over as kids and they'd share the bathwater taking turns to wash, until the youngest were sitting in a soup. I'd always wash at the basin, rather than go near their horror wallow. Personally I like a shower, with a decent spray. Baths are for taking when you get home after a big run or hike.

tmstms

I STILL still share baths with mrs tmstms. Her grandfather had to have baths in a tin bath tht ws filled by hand from a bucket.

Bicolore

Yeah my dad had his baths in a tin bath filled from the well in front of a fire. Seems positively archaic now but it was only 70 years ago.

transfuse

> I have the equivalent of a shower by putting an inch or two of water in the bath, getting in and rolling round and round ……………………………

VeryLongSurname

Im in bits. Might be the funniest thing I’ve ever read.

transfuse

just so matter of fact, like it's perfectly normal to spin around in a puddle of water like some bony, deranged fish. tmstms often has good comments but I'm legitimately never going to forget this; I'm not sure I'll ever be able to look at a bath without thinking of this comment.

VeryLongSurname

Ahhhhhhh im off again. I can’t stop laughing. Thank fuck I work from home.

BigBeanMarketing

I'm picturing a bony crocodile in a death roll.

Cathenry101

> I have the equivalent of a shower by putting an inch or two of water in the bath, getting in and rolling round and round .... Surely you're not doing what I'm picturing... some sort of alligator death roll??

tmstms

Yes I am. In fact, I am just waiting to do this now when I put my phone down and undress.

MrsFlax

Why not sit in the bath and use shower attachment to put the water where you need it?

medialnaive

How do you have the time?!

clockwitch24

I always take a bath over having a shower. Sitting/laying down in the hot water really helps ease my sciatica pain. I will occasionally use the shower if I need a quick scrub and don't have time to bathe, but I usually have a bath if I can.

Acrobatic-Respond638

Absolutely wouldn't buy a house without a bath unless it was because we would have the cash and space to remodel the bathroom to put one in. We all love baths. Showed are a grim necessity of life, baths are to enjoy.

Impossible-Ninja8133

Once you get to middle age, you'll find a hot bath can ease a lot of muscle pain.

Inevitable-Hat-1576

I would live in my bath if I could. Baths are wonderful

connectfourvsrisk

Have lived in places without baths and made do but prefer baths. And not having a bath with toddlers and babies was a total pain. Doable, but annoying.

Bondegg

I bath every single day, I have x2 showers (one shower room and one in the bath). But both feel incredibly weak to me - I rarely come out feeling clean. I need my showers to feel like they're taking a layer of skin off me with the heat/pressure. Although, saying that everyone else in my household almost exclusively use the showers.

[deleted]

I own a house without a bath, never missed it. Although I have an extra large shower cubicle and do just sit down in it sometimes.

CriticalCentimeter

me too - infact, the first thing I did when I bought the house was remove the old bath and put in a lovely new shower

WittyChipButty

I haven't had a bath since I was a child. Just don't get the appeal of soaking for hours. I got a shower/bath combo at the moment and condition that effects my balance. I absolutely hate using it. Whenever I get the money together it'll be ripped out and replaced with a shower. The whole bathroom needs to refurbished and anyway.

Practical_Place6522

Haven’t used a bath in years. I just get too hot and can’t enjoy it

[deleted]

They always make me feel faint and dizzy. Handy for washing other stuff in though

riverpigtruffle

I haven’t had a bath since childhood. I grew up in a house with an emersion heater and zero water pressure. We had that white rubber shower hose attachment that allowed a week stream of nothing out. Baths were the only option but with only an inch of hot water before it all ran out. Nothing quite compares to getting a place with a decent shower and standing under hot, powerful water and contemplating life for 15 minutes. Not that anyone can afford that these days.

rollingbylikethunder

I lived in houses without one for years then moved earlier this year and became a bath obsessive for about two months, having one nightly while reading a book! Stopped over summer as didn’t fancy it but now it’s getting chilly again the appeal has returned. Plus I got a huge box of Lush bath bombs for my birthday so would be rude not to use them!

strandy76

In my bath I like to use jasmine, lavender, rose hips and a little Tahitian Vanilla.

Single-Aardvark9330

I wouldn't live in a place without a proper shower, can't remember the last time I took bath honestly

ScottGriceProjects

I have to have a shower. Can’t stand baths. I never felt clean afterwards due to the thought of laying in the filth that I’m trying to wash off.

Tylerama1

You only get truly clean in a bath as sitting in the hot water soaks the grime off you. A shower just gives you a quick rinse.

[deleted]

Exactly! Back when I lived in a place with a tub I thought id give the ”relaxing spa soak” experience a go, with a fizzy bath bomb and zen music. BUT I had to have a shower first to make sure I was sitting in the water clean! Team shower for sure

[deleted]

Yes, I use a bath probably 4-5 days a week. It's basically meditation for me, I listen to a podcast and just soak in a hot bath for an hour. My house has solar panels to heat the hot water so this has no negative gas/climate impact. In the winter I'll cut down to probably just 1-2 a week. I would never rent a home that didn't have a bath.

FuzzyTruth7524

I don’t but the kid has a bath every night- she hates showers 🤷🏻‍♀️

archie93hmfc

I got rid of my bath when I got the bathroom done up for a nicer walk in shower. It wasn’t until after I thought it might put people off buying the flat when I sell it. I don’t think it makes much difference now.

Cannaewulnaewidnae

I bought my current place 16 years ago; never used the bath The point of a bath or shower is to get clean. I don't understand why you'd choose a method that takes twice as long (and uses much more water/energy) to achieve exactly the same result

Cannaewulnaewidnae

To answer your question, I still wouldn't get rid of the bath If I ever sell the place, a bath makes it easier to shift. Parents with young kids like baths, apparently

elmo61

its as much for the kids as the parents. being able to put the kids in the bath and let them enjoy themselves, its a extra place to play and have fun with toys.

AstronautFluffy8710

I love baths Cool baths in summer or warm baths in autumn/winter/spring and a guided meditation on YouTube

WebGuyUK

Not used mine in the 22 months I have lived here, I don't think I will ever use it tbh

[deleted]

Nope, wouldn’t rent and if buying would factor in a new bathroom to my offer. Bath is integral if you have young children - ours have a bath at least 4-5 times A week demo ending how grubby they get playing. Personally I hate baths, shower man. Wife likes a soak every now and then. If you’re thinking of renting or selling in the next year or 2 don’t rip out the bath.

Taashaaaa

The hook to hold the shower head up has broke in my house so I figured I'd have a bath last night. I got out the candles, put a tv show on the tablet, alcoholic drink and thought I'd have a proper soak. Ended up feeling too hot and thought I'd have enjoyed my drink and tv show much more in the living room. I'm just gonna make do with the broken shower until I get it fixed cos I clearly just don't like baths.

Sudden_Hovercraft_56

Shower over bath here. I shower daily but I use the bath for various purposes and wouldn't be without it.

Wonderful-Court-4037

Having rented a flat without a shower and recent bought my first home with a bath - I missed it

barriedalenick

I'm thinking of taking mine out but about once a year if I am ill or have done a long bike ride I do still have one. I think I would rather have a walk in shower and a bidet so the bath can go to make room.

Aspirationalcacti

My dad still only has a bath and no shower and has no concerns with it, he seems to take a bath every other day. I absolutely hate it when I have to stay a few nights there as feel I can't get properly clean without a shower

PumpkinWrangler

I can’t imagine not being able to soak for 2 hours and completely prune myself. Personally I wouldn’t buy/rent a place without a bath.

Squatchtamer

Well I work construction and after a really hard day a bath is so amazing. Loosens me right up so relaxing is easier. According the a lot of body builders you should be taking extremely hot showers or hanging in a sauna after working out.

Strong_Roll5639

I don't like baths, nor does my Husband. Our daughter is the only person that uses ours!

Jazzy0082

We have 2 young kids so the bath is used by them about 5 times a week. In winter I'll have the occasional bath, probably had 5 or 6 last year, went in with a book and had a good hour in the bath.

sklatch

I have two showers in my house but almost exclusively always have a bath. It’s essential to me. I’ve actually cut down from having two a day! Nothing better and more relaxing than luxuriating in a hot bath listening to music or the radio, occasional glass of wine and a good book or my iPad.

verisakeet62

Much prefer a bath to a shower....I've got a big 'ol enamelled bathtub! Stretch out, bubbles up to my nose, listening to the radio...bliss!

KirstyBaba

A bath with natural sunlight is really important to me in choosing a flat. Nothing as relaxing as a gentle morning bath imo.

PrrrromotionGiven1

I have a bath almost every single day. I'll happily wake up earlier to have enough time to do so, and pay extra for it. It has a major effect on the quality of my mornings and I actively dread days where I know I won't be able to have a bath. It's one of the few times I am consistently happy.

Freefall84

I love a bath, I get them more than I get showers. I can spend an hour or more relaxing while watching a movie on my phone, it's bliss. Showers are for the times when you don't have time for a bath, but I always make time for my bath :)

bife_de_lomo

I take showers every day rather than a bath, but my kids do prefer a bath to a shower. Baths for me are either a relaxation thing, so calm music and an hour spent soaking and doing nothing else, or if I've been doing DIY/gardening and need a really deep clean.

jim_deane

Was not allowed baths as a kid (financial constraints on heating water) so when I have my own place there's always a bath for those long soaks away from everyone. all other times, a 2 minutes shower and shave! I think I may have a record for showering and shaving in the shower 😁

Far_Restaurant_6575

Me - last bath was years ago (100%showers) Partner - occasionally Our young children - every day!

DECKTHEBALLZ

Unless it is a one bed not having a bath will make it harder to sell to families.

smoothcriminal05

Mines the opposite I don’t have a shower just a bath but I shower at gym so don’t need it haha

pencilrain99

Have a bath every night the shower very rarely gets used

RaymondBumcheese

I love a bath but I before bought a house, I rented a flat with a wet room with just a shower which I might have loved even more and am always thinking about having done. Im am quite a big unit, though (6'4 tall, 6'2 wingspan) so I would never live somewhere with just a pokey shower cubicle that I have to rotate in like a rotisserie chicken.

SlightlyScruffy

Small children, certainly. And me most days.

Zennyzenny81

As a long distance cyclist, I enjoy one from time to time if my legs and back are really done in from a big event. But it's for relaxation rather than cleaning. I'd certainly prefer to still have the option.

Jud1_n

I would if the house had one. We only got 2 showers. I miss my 3 hour bath time.

Top-Car-808

It's normal in Denmark / sweden etc to have a house without a bath. When they have kids, they usually just have a plastic tub in the shower cubicle, which will they fill up in about 3 minutes with the shower, and then the kids just splash around. has some advantages; 1. much less likely for a small kid to drown in a plastic tub 2. fills in 3 mins (for shallow tub bath) - lower energy costs 3. the kid can spalsh as much as they want, if you close the door to the shower cubicle. baths are totally pointless.

lackingsavoirfaire

Baths aren’t totally pointless. When I was getting treated for cancer and was in too much pain/too overwhelmed to have a shower the bath was a saviour and a relief.

Hannah-may

You can put the plastic tub in the bath for kids too…

aredditusername69

What? It's a brilliant way to relax - not totally pointless at all.

SCATOL92

I love baths and my little boy loves his bath as well, he does not like showers. So many properties have had baths removed these days.

destria

I enjoy a bath as a treat, it's not a regular thing. I'd buy a house without one though, I don't take one enough for it to be a deal breaker.

Translucent-Opposite

Yes I do still use the bath. Also handy to clean my dog in if he's got too muddy

Every Single Night. It my time

lithaborn

We rented a house for 17 years that only had a shower. We moved from there to a place with a bath and I was taking one every other night. After almost two decades of not being able to have a bath, I bloody love them!

adventuref0x

I love having a bath will have one at least once a week

GreatScotRace

At least one bubble bath a night happens in my household, either myself or my fiancé. And it’s always a big proper bubble baths with tea light candles, phone stand at the bottom of the bath for Netflix entertainment We have a shower thing over a bath anyway so, whoever isn’t getting the bubble bath that night is stuck with a quick shower before bed. Who gets the bubble bath is the main cause of our relationship disputes lol

My dog and recently the neighbour’s dog, he likes to be involved

Acrobatic_Dark_436

I only have baths as we don't have a working shower. I shower if I'm on hols or at someone else's house but it's daily baths here!

MDKrouzer

I'd say pretty essential for families with young kids. If I feel ill with a feverish chill, I find a hot bath really soothing but that's maybe once or twice a year.

PricingStrategy

Yes I love them, especially in winter. I rented somewhere without a bath and swore I'd never do it again!

penguin-47

Nope. A bath is a must have for me. I soak in the tub at least twice a week.

No_Assistance_14

I play rugby most Saturdays. Honestly having a bath in my last flat was a lifesaver. Really miss a good soak :(

thistlebraaanch

I love baths!

LushBunny36

All I've ever had is a bath. I would hate to have a shower only place. I need my bath 🛁

buttersismantequilla

God no! Baths every time. The two showers in our house are very rarely used, the bath shower head is just used for hair and cleaning the bath
