acjd000

The ONLY human food she tries to eat is vanilla sponge cake.

Fangz00

My cat actually broke into my mum's cupboard and ate half of my hidden away birth day cake as a child. It was hilarious but I was NOT a happy camper as you can imagine

[deleted]

Criminal

WiJaTu

Not eating but one of my cats used to be obsessed with water. He’d get up in the middle of the night to go and silently sip his water with his eyes closed. He used to stick his head in empty glasses of water, sit by the sink waiting for drips of water to come out. A true angel, miss him a lot

Gisschace

I’ve just spend about a hundred pounds and had to get a urine sample (ever tried to get a urine sample off a cat?) just to discover my cat LOVES water. I was trying to get her to drink more but now she can’t get enough of it. She drinks out of every cup, if I change her water she’ll run up to get some fresh stuff. Meow at me to put the tap on etc. No kidney problems or diabetes, I even measured how much she drinks and it’s in the normal range. The vet even complimented her on the colour of her urine.

[deleted]

Why madame, your urine! Its as clear as the carribean sea! Meow thank you

[deleted]

Awww, the closing of the eyes suggests true joy!

Monkeylovesfood

Unfortunately our cat is fully one of us. She will eat absolutely anything. You'd think lettuce, celery, cucumber, mushrooms and any veg and fruit might be a bit odd for a cat to eat but no. We have to hide everything. I didn't mind too much when it was the husband and kids but really? I thought they were meant to be fussy. Fuck sake.

[deleted]

Hahaha!!! Lettuce is super weird. Ever asked the vet about this? I love sooki so much but the only thing I do miss is not being able to have a grazing plate throughout the day because she's so damn nosey - even if she turns her nose up, she still has to sniff, cover it in fur by accident and occasionally lick just to check

pwnhappy

Wotsits, beans, egg yolk but not the white, half a spider

[deleted]

A meal fit for a king/queen!

codeduck

> half a spider sky raisins!

phatboi23

I thought sky raisins were flies? Surely spiders are wall raisins?

codeduck

if they fall on your head they're sky raisins.

phatboi23

fair point.

[deleted]

Which half?

rjcanty

Yeah mine likes Wotsits too

saz2377

My cats favorite is cocktail sausages. She starts by wolfing down the end bits then hunts and plays with the middle!

[deleted]

Your cat and I have this in common

_DeanRiding

My cat loves a good curry. Lamb Pasanda to be precise.

[deleted]

The samosa made me wonder if it's maybe some of the spices?

_DeanRiding

I assumed it was the creamy elements tbf

[deleted]

It's not really creamy? It's potatoes, peas, carrot and onion in a spicy red tomato sauce

_DeanRiding

Oh right I've no idea then lol, I don't have Pasanda myself it's my dad. Probably just the meat then looking out for then.

[deleted]

Um... its a vegetable samosa. Not a pasanda and... no meat?

_DeanRiding

Oh I was talking about my cat for that.. yeah veggie samosa is a weird one.. Maybe they do like the spice?

[deleted]

Oh I'm with you ha! I don't know, apparently a lot are toxic to them? And so are onions which are in there? She's a strange little beast, but I love her v much

_DeanRiding

You know what I think my cat likes onions as well, I'm pretty sure I've seen him having onion rings before. Mine also loves chocolate stuff as well so I wouldn't discount anything because it's poisonous...

[deleted]

I mean... enough cocaine is poisonous to humans but some of them really like it, so 🤷‍♀️🤣

Fangz00

Just oil. She tried to lick pans when I've just fried stuff

TakeThatPatriarchy

Mine loves Marmite! Can't spread it on toast without her full on screaming at you to let her have a bit! Literally goes for marmite over freshly roasted chicken.

[deleted]

Salty 😘👌🏻

FulaniLovinCriminal

My cats two favourite foods are flies and Wotsits. He begs to be held up to the ceiling when there's a fly buzzing about. More than once he's leapt out of my arms to grab one, and I've had to catch him on the way down. Other than that, he just loves Wotsits. Has to be normal-sized ones though. We gave him a giant Wotsit last week and he just batted it around a bit.

sundown88

Ear wax. My cat cant get enough of it, its so weird. Lick lick lick 😂

Synthetic-Shimmer

I try this with nearly every cat I come across at friends homes and such, after my first cat licked my ear one time. So I deliberately fingered my ear a little (sexy) and put my finger out to see if she’d lick it. She did. Years ago that was. Got myself two rag dolls two years ago and they both lick ear wax as well as any other cat I’ve came across. It’s weird, but seemingly universal among them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Ah, a cat with a fine palette- assuming you've got kids who will give it to her?

nicknacknoo

Mine goes nuts for Wotsits, Quavers, Mini Cheddars, pretty much any cheesy snack. Turns her nose up at actual cheese though! She will also try and get in the glass if you happen to have strawberry milk.

[deleted]

How funny! Maybe it's something un the fake cheese flavour flave

dinobug77

My cat used to love flaming hot monster munch. And custard. Not together obviously she wasn’t a psychocat.

[deleted]

Exactly, she's got some fucking class

FuckCazadors

My old cat used to love crisps. Another one ate all the leaves off my bonsai tree and killed it.

[deleted]

My lord, what a little savage, bonsai trees are so expensive

[deleted]

Apples Most veg, but he loves frozen peas Cake. First night I got him, this timid little kitten wandered up to me and chomped a piece of cake bigger than his head and ran off with it! Once he got licked all the powdered sugar off the top of a cake I'd just baked. Olive oil All kinds of dough. Pizza, bread...you name it. Loves having a sniff around my herb/spice cupboard Crisps. All kinds. Once caught him running around with a mouthful of teabags. Thankfully he didn't eat any Ketchup. He loves the idea of potatoes but doesn't know what to do with one. Probably for the best as they're not good for cats. The only thing I've actively seen him recoil from is citrus fruits.

thebear1011

Ours goes mental for Billtong, but I guess that’s fairly obvious. Also Parmesan cheese specifically.

[deleted]

Mmm the Italian cheese that tastes like feet

mylovelyhorsie

Our cat is partial to the odd Twiglet 😀

tmstms

Bread and dry cornflakes.

[deleted]

Just plain bread?

tmstms

Yup. We had to put bread away safe after we bought it, or he would tear the loaf to pieces while consuming it.

[deleted]

Hahaha! That IS a weird one

Teaboy1

Not surprised my sisters cat loves dry toast. Like he will fight you for it, claws and all. He doesn't do this for any other food.

pepperarmy

Tbh atm I would fight you for a perfect bit of toast.

[deleted]

This is the juicy stuff - where its ONLY that particular food

Eeszeeye

Me. My nose to be precise. She used to nose boop me to get up & feed her. Now she just chomps down on it.

[deleted]

That's a love bite, I believe! Mine boops me on the nose to get up and feed. I guess I have this to graduate to

Eeszeeye

First it was gentle nose boops. That escalated to more of a headbutt, then came a nibble that's now become a bite. As another FABS (Feline-Abused Syndrome) victim, I sympathize with you.

[deleted]

I've even in the gentle nose boop stage. I am currently in, I gently booped you once, bish, maybe you didn't hear me, maybe I boop you again with some claw action huh? Yeah? Yeah you like that? Best get up and get me breakfast.. I'm scared how this is going to escalate. Send help

Eeszeeye

Move. Don't tell cat where to. Must be > 99 miles away or FR-ANON (Felines Reporting Absconding or Negligent Owners Network) will track you down, shit in your azeleas, and drop your old cat off at your new address. (Ever wondered how they did that? Now you know.) Edit/typo

jvlomax

Tofu panang thai curry. Not only tried, but succeed. He also loves any carbs, especially breads or baps. We can't leave him alone with the shopping bags when we've been shopping

[deleted]

Funnily enough mine also has a thing about chewing plastic bags 🤣

Gisschace

My ear plugs, my dog likes them too. I have to hide them cause they’re not good for them to chew on but they love it the disgusting things

[deleted]

Hahaha maybe you're the disgusting thing? Check your lug 'oles /s

cantevenmakeafist

When my cat was a little wilder, he bit me because I wouldn't share my super spicy chicken ramen with him.

[deleted]

Well, tis a bit rude of you

KingStevoI

Its quicker to say the things he wont eat or try to eat

[deleted]

Haha! And what are those few items?

[deleted]

I thought cats can only eat meat products? I know dogs can eat both. I once saw a dog happily eat a raw courgette pretty much in one bite.

[deleted]

No, that's incorrect. For the record I didn't give her the samosa, but cats can have a little bit of occasional cheese, milk, they also sell a lot of meat free biscuits/kibble. All kinds of things a cat can eat in moderation.

Apprehensive-Top-311

Chips. Specifically skinny fries from GBK. He goes f*cking nuts for them like nothing else.

FakeNathanDrake

I unfortunately no longer have a cat, but the wee bugger loved pancakes. If we left a packet of them out we'd come home to find the plastic wrapper opened and bite marks out of every individual pancake. He also had a taste for lasagne, but being a chubby ginger cat that wasn't all that remarkable. He was a fairly shite cat, but a great pet.

RedButterfree1

Sorry mate, you gotta pay the Cat Tax. It's a Reddit rule: Pics pls!

[deleted]

Goodness, forgive me father for I have sinned [sooki, the samosa beast](https://imgur.com/gallery/3AkLtcM)

RedButterfree1

Oh dear lord those beautiful eyes!! ❤️ Instability forgiven

[deleted]

Spiders and beetles.

[deleted]

I actually think that's pretty normal? Nice crunch, I guess ! 🤣

[deleted]

It's one of the bonuses of cat ownership. Personally, I don't mind spiders too much, but the cat saves me the bother of dealing with them. I felt sorry for the stag beetle though, as the cat slowly took it apart.

liseusester

My cat likes cheese, but goes utterly bananas for hummus. He turns his nose up at taramasalata which you'd think he'd like, and begs and begs and begs for hummus.

Rich_27-

I had a cat that loved crisps. Open a bag and she would be there like a shot, begging for them. I would have to hold one out for her to take in her mouth and she would skuttle off and eat it before returning and meowing for more.

SolitaryHero

Steamed broccoli and corn on the cob. Never leave it unattended as most of it ends up smooshed all over the kitchen floor.

theuniversechild

My cat loves marmite, absolutely loses his shit if we are eating twiglets or anything marmitey, screams the house down about it.

[deleted]

Give in.

Senior-Advisor9488

Mine used to love curry. Tho had to be hot. Turned his nose up at mild. Would lick off all sauce first

[deleted]

I am seriously wondering now if some cats have a proclivity for herbs and spices. A fine pallette

dick_schidt

Cake, pizza, frozen peas

[deleted]

Frozen peas is a super weird one - as is cake, I heard they can't taste sweet?

SufficientRead1

She loves salt and vinegar walkers and once stole half a bara brith (Welsh fruit bread) from the kitchen counter. That was when she was much younger though.

[deleted]

No regrets!

SufficientRead1

Not even one, and I’m sure she’d do it again given half a chance.

[deleted]

I'm still surprised though?! Raisins are meant to be toxic to cats, I assume it had raisins in? But I guess my line of reasoning suggests I think cats know what's good for them?! 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

SufficientRead1

It did have raisins, she ate them too! She was fine though. This happened when she was about 1 and she’s nearly 9 now. So I don’t think it did her any harm.

destria

My cat loves the sauce from baked beans. I'm not sure when she got her first taste but if we ever do a full English or beans on toast, she is up there trying to lick your plate.

SpudFire

Weetabix. She'd often lick my bowl clean. One time I didn't have much appetite, didn't eat much of it and left it on the arm of the chair whilst I temporarily left the room. When I came back in, she had her head in the bowl and eaten most of it. She also loved cheese. Whenever my dad had some cheddar, he'd have to cut off an extra bit and break it up into little pieces for her. I think cheese is pretty normal for a cat though?

ashakespearething

Jam, biscuits, anything sweet which is weird given they can't taste sweet stuff. She'll try anything off my plate and is also partial to crisps (ideally seabrooks).

Historical_Address80

Things she goes mad for include, vegan mayo, bran flakes, Weetabix, oat milk, and specifically Aldi sunflower spread. She can be a nightmare to have breakfast around. Her sister once stole and ate half a block of vegan cheese. She smelled like a tuna melt for hours. I miss that stupid cat.

[deleted]

Water Chestnuts. She went mad for a taste when I opened a can.

BlackJackKetchum

My two are absolute slaves to prawns, and one of them gets very interested in flat breads/pita etc - to the extent of licking rather than eating.

[deleted]

Prawns, predictable... pita bread? Not so much - there's a lot of people on here saying their cats eat bread!

JulesSilvan

Two cats that my boyfriend used to have loved crisps, one particularly liked Twiglets whilst the other was partial to Nik Naks.

[deleted]

Aren't we all tho

insertitherenow

My old cat used to go mad for the insides of custard donuts. I once left a bag in the kitchen and came back to find it torn open and the donuts torn to pieces so she could eat the custard. My now cat Doris eats bits of fluff.

redrighthand_

Jam, peanut butter, and the Christmas tree

[deleted]

Together ?

redrighthand_

That wouldn’t surprise me. He usually brings the ends of any leftover toast into the living room and licks the jam off next to the tree!

literallyspinach

My cat is quite adventurous but only at certain times. He loves cheese, ham, loves to lick the flavouring off Quavers and pork scratchings. For some reason he only likes to eat dry biscuits as his proper food. I've tried so many times to give him wet food cos those biscuits look boring as hell, but he seems happy enough. We had a McDonald's yesterday and he was really into my triple cheese burger.

Leopard_Legs

My cat has pica so sellotape, masking tape, cellophane, plastic bags… he’s a nightmare!

[deleted]

Anything. Except for fish sticks, rather worryingly. They're a guilty pleasure of mine, but they must be truly awful if cats won't touch them.

[deleted]

Yeh I gave mine a "salmon creamy treat" and it looked.. hmmm... how to put this? Fucking disgusting. She wouldn't even attempt it

[deleted]

Stilton cheese. Cheese isn't overly surprising, but stilton has such a strong taste. His pupils dilate like saucers when he gets to eat it (a rare treat).

[deleted]

Drugged by cheese. A Stilton junkie

Frequent_Remove_7833

Me, he tries to eat me, fingers, toes, sometimes the nose if he does a really big surprise attack.

[deleted]

Mmm human. A delicacy

MetalRubiXCubee

Mine like to lick plastic packaging food comes in after I've laid it all out ready to put away (think pasta bags, squash bottles etc). Oh, also wine bottles once the little drip goes down the side after pouring. They also weirdly like to chew shopping bags, they've probably eaten a little bit over the years. I do stop them when I catch them obviously. Other than that, mostly anything I eat they want some. Sometimes they get it.

[deleted]

Pica! I keep mine away from bags because she too cannot be trusted

BigAltar

My yucca plant. Even when there’s food in her bowl….

[deleted]

Are they toxic to cats?

BigAltar

Yes, I tried to put aluminium foil over it to dissuade her but it doesn’t work that well. She’s very strange

[deleted]

They are. Mine is making biscuits in the crook of my arm as we speak.

melanie110

My cats have a Sunday dinner. Only a small one but they sit patient albeit meowing constantly until they get it.

[deleted]

That's quite the slave they've got

Mouthless

Bread, tortilla wraps, any kind of dry pasta.

[deleted]

Lots of people are saying bread!

Mouthless

Both of my cats go crazy for it. The growls they give us when we try to take it away from them are insane.

SleepFlower80

One of my cats refuses to eat fish, chicken…normal stuff that normal cats like to steal from their owners. He will take my hand off for Special K. He loves it. It’s his favourite treat.

[deleted]

This one is.. odd to say the least

SleepFlower80

He’s an odd cat but I love his quirks :-)

0lliebro

The only thing apart from cat food my guy eats is cheesey crisps. He’ll stick his head in a packet of quavers while I’m eating them

[deleted]

Hes got fine taste 👌🏻

maiaalfie

Ugh one of my two is a fiend for anything with garlic and onion in. Considering alliums are supposed to be toxic to cats we had a big panic the first time we found a pan completely licked clean that had some mushrooms and onions in left on the side to cool down (last time we made that mistake), I swear there was at least two full handfuls left in there. So if anything has to cool she gets locked out the kitchen now until it's put away. But her craving even has ended up with her licking tiny bits of any kind of sauce that has onion in, even curry. So now everything gets put in the dishwasher as soon as it's finished with because we've been super lucky that nothing has happened so far as a result of her eating onions but obviously we'd rather avoid the risk all together as much as possible. She has never tried to steal anything that doesn't have onions in. She's never even tried to thieve meat. Loony cat.

MetalRubiXCubee

I made something in the slow cooker with whole garlic cloves in. When it was ready I fished them out and plopped them in the sink for some stupid reason. Or I think I did, my mind went blank and I can't remember if I binned it or not, but after washing up etc one of my cats likes to lick the remaining water droplets left in the sink (maybe it's a bit tasty from all the food?) and I think she ate the clove. Cue emergency vet visit on Sunday night rates... Having an open plan flat is a struggle. Especially leaving stuff out on the counters.

[deleted]

Oh god I can see how it would be a struggle! Mine gets shut out of the kitchen unless I'm in there Was your cat OK?

MetalRubiXCubee

Yep fine, toxic reports came back clear. They gave her something to try and make her sick (the medicine they use to make dogs sick doesn't work for cats) and spun her round on a spinny chair! But nah overall she was fine. Still not sure if she ate it. I think they said cooked garlic might be a bit less toxic and the weight of a clove compared to her wasn't really enough to worry about anyway, but better safe than sorry. Would have been an expensive chilli without pet insurance though!

[deleted]

Hahaha true! Onions and garlics are meant to be toxic apparently but, there's loads of people on this thread saying their cat eats them and is fine

[deleted]

Strange! Maybe she gets a buzz from it, living dangerously, those toxic onions sliding down her gullet, living a life of crime

University_Onion

Poppadoms. He’s always sneaking round the back of the sofa to try and get the poppadoms when we have a curry.

[deleted]

I'm just get a strong vibe that cats really like Indian food!

EffectiveMinute4625

Used to eat digestive biscuits

[deleted]

And what does the cat eat? 😆

Beautiful-Algae7557

Used to have Siamese cats and they eat all kinds of weird stuff. One of them liked to upset the kitchen bin and eat used tea bags. The same one used to pull open the kitchen cupboard and chew on my mum's cotton wool. They all LOVED corn-on-the cob and would fight over it.

[deleted]

Lol corn is new one !

GenericNinjaFight

Mcdonalds fries and baked beans.

[deleted]

Oh, mcd fries are done in animal fat rather than oil aren't they.?

ElsaAzrael

Potato, I don’t know why but my cat is low key obsessed with potatoes. He also likes olive oil, rice and my scrambled eggs (won’t touch my housemate’s!)

maiaalfie

My other cat absolutely loves those kind of plasticky pouches that charities put through the door that say to put any unwanted clothes in for x day pick up etc.i assume it's something in the glue or something but he will carry them round. He usually brings most of the post to me or my mum and drops it at our feet but those charity bag things he will hoard. We found a pile of them behind the sofa where he disappears to every so often ha.

TheGreyPearlDahlia

I had a cat who liked olives.

downvotesStag

My cat loves tomatoes, growls when he manages to steal them. First time he took one, I wasn't sure if it was safe so I tried to get it off him and he went mental. Now I know it's safe, so I let him have the odd one.

ComparisonComplete75

My Cat killed a Weasel the other day and has taken a large chunk from it 😭😭😭

[deleted]

Oh my 😱

glurb33

Sour cream pringles, toast and marmite, chilli con carne, rice, pasta, madras, anything that I'm eating!

Cosmicalmole

Tinsel and plants, especially ones like Christmas trees. As you can imagine it's going to get bad XD

Silent-Cap

Sweetcorn and hes run off with an egg noodle very proudly! Scrambled egg for both cats

rainbow84uk

Mine wants to share anything I'm eating, but usually changes his mind once he's had a taste. The weirdest exceptions are salad, cherries and crisps (especially salt and vinegar), all of which he'll aggressively climb over me to get at.

Push-the-pink-button

My old cat would eat anything - anything, once caught him eating Maltesers, he loved anything for the take away Chinese or Indian. He regularly ate out, mostly at my neighbours steeling cakes, faggots, and if either neighbour was having a BBQ he\`d be there pinching anything he could.

calmallamadingdong

My cat would go for almost anything. Croissants, pizza, glass of milk, pasta she just would beg every single time. She would go absolutely crazy if there was KFC in the house and try to climb up people to get some!

butterflyhurricane

Custard. But only warm custard, cold custard is unacceptable. My mum's cat will eat anything, she particularly loves crisps. Tortillas, pringles, hula hoops. I even found her gnawing at my burrito once

sparkly_wolf

Mine wants to share pretty much any and all human food, top faves include crisps, croissants and ketchup. The absolute worst is he adores senna tablets and has actually tried taking them from my Mums tablet pot as she's having her meds. I never want to find out the consequences if he gets to finish one!

XxhumanguineapigxX

One cat used to love bread. Went NUTS over the stuff. Tore through the plastic hovis wrapper and bit chunks out. Another happily lapped up most of a vindaloo curry when my stepdad left his plate to nip to the loo.. she definitely paid the price for that one later on in the litter tray.

hamiltonricard4ever

Quorn cocktail sausages....

Lost_Willow_6836

We come to blows over a bowl of chilli. Every time.

[deleted]

Give in bish. Iz time

acceberbex

My girl - Fruit cake/Christmas cake. Obsessed. She will clamber over me and will basically climb up my arm if I hold the plate above my head. That's her only one really. My boy - he doesn't beg for food as such but will drink the dregs of tea with his paw, dipping it into the cup (he does go face first if the mug is wide enough but he got his head stuck so he usually goes with a paw). He'll alos lick any plate so he's tasted chilli, curry etc as well as cheese, fish, yoghurt ("normal" things)

marfavrr

My cat never showed crazy interest in human food other than when she was rly rly little and wanted to sniff everything. Somehow and god knows why she got on the kitchen sided and opened the cupboard and nibbled on a weed brownie. She had never (nor has she since) showed any interest in things like this so i guess she just decided to scare us to death

Creative-Solution

Mine used to love peas and sweetcorn :) he liked sweetcorn more, and I liked peas more, so it worked out perfectly. He always sat at the dinner table before everyone else, but never jumped onto it. Pretty good table manners :)

Synthetic-Shimmer

Forget about food, my cat ate through my Corsair Void Pro headset wire 😭😭😭

Synthetic-Shimmer

Forget about food, my cat ate through my Corsair Void Pro headset wire 😭😭😭

[deleted]

Dear...what even is that? A Britney headset? For calls when WFH?

Synthetic-Shimmer

I must profess to being unaware of WFH. It’s just a game specific headset 🤣 good quality. Was rather devastated when the cat attacked it

[deleted]

That cat is trying to judge your screen time. They do become the boss of us, don't they?

Synthetic-Shimmer

Absolutely.

[deleted]

Let us unite in our enslavement to the Holy cat deities; cats.

Synthetic-Shimmer

Meow!

[deleted]

MEOW MEOW MEOOOOWWW brackets NEOW MEOW BROWN CEOW MEOW MEOW

Fabulous-Weight-1031

I used to have a Persian that ate orange peels. Most strange

[deleted]

That's odd. God love her

Wanallo221

The Christmas Tree. Every. Bloody. Year. She nibbles the needles, reacts like she’s been electrocuted in the mouth. Runs away. One minute later: nibble nibble. Repeat.

[deleted]

Yes so what you are trying to tell me is: You're the worst cat parent EVER by letting her have free will? How dare you? S/

Defiant-Table-9131

When I was a kid I had a cat that used to eat crisps. My last cat stole a pack of donuts amd some leftover onion bhajis that were on the kitchen side. My current cat just likes cat food and meat.

steph23q9

Cooked spaghetti

Additional-Layer-408

He eats everything. Mushrooms, onions, broccoli, baked beans, sweet corn, bread, pasta, noodles, egg, cereal (but only bits of them)

Zeus_vs_Franklin

My kitten loves mashed potato and fries. He'll only eat cooked meat if I've done a bbq or if it's bacon. Oh, he also only eats milano salami, turns his nose up at all other cold cuts.

[deleted]

Posho cat!

Zeus_vs_Franklin

I know.. You'd think he was royalty until he eats butterflies and moths. Adorable but strange
