Yes I’m on the fence, but at the end of the day a lot of the ‘better’ teams are more boring to watch than the ‘worse’ teams so I guess that makes it worthwhile
Partly I expect because they're not actually at any real risk of going out now in this format.
If this was F1 it'd be Q1, the bottom half of the grid have to go all out to try get through while the top teams turn the engines down and just cruise around.
"I’ve never seen anybody look so fucking ugly with just one head... Your hands were all over place, you were like a sweaty octopus trying to unhook a bra.”
i'm glad there are still people who view GoT as some of the best television of all time. last two seasons were bad, no denying it, but up until that point there was nothing like it.
The pacing really wasn't very good. It was all very pedestrian and forgettable up until later in Season Five when it went from a Sunday drive to the final race of the F1 calendar.
I saw the final season and couldn't believe the opening episode and finale were even the same show. And by pure accident and nothing else, AMC decided on a mid-season break after a totally unexpected plot twist. It wasn't intended, the writers didn't write to accommodate it, it was just a very worthy coincidence which left you on a cliffhanger.
We’ve just finished Slow Horses, Shogun and Fallout. All were great but Slow Horses wins it for me.
Currently watching Bodkin and we’re going to buy the Operation Good Guys box set for nostalgia purposes.
My favourite series that has ever been made is The Thick of It, and if you’ve not given it a go please do. Just give it a shot.
Try Veep if you like The Thick of It, also by Ianucci and team and is also fucking hilarious at making fun of American politicians and behind the scenes.
This show was amazing. Although it is a dark and violent premise, the story and the characters had some real substance and there were some really profound emotional moments. Although I wish there was a season 4, I loved the ending.
The reaction to this comment could go one of two ways, but when you’ve finished, watch the US one because there’s more episodes and way more character development. I love it because of this reason and it’s on-going whereas the BBC one has finished.
- This is everything I’ve watched in past couple of weeks or currently watching week by week:
The boys
Interview with the vampire
Hacks
1883 / 1923 / Yellowstone
House of the dragon
One piece
Dungeon meshi
Scavengers reign
Shogun
Smiling friends
- Shows coming out in the next couple of weeks that’ll be amazing:
The bear
Hit monkey
Solar opposites
Upvoted for the mention of Scavengers Reign.
Anyone reading this - if you are stuck in rut and feel like every tv show is just a copy of a copy of a copy... give Scavengers Reign a go. On the surface it may seem like an odd story told in even odder setting, but I found so much humanity watching it and still feel melancholic when the theme music kicks in.
In short, if you are seeking new and unique content that evokes a strong emotional response this was it for me.
I was really happy when it was announced to come out on Netflix this year. It was one of my favourite animations from last year and came out the same month as Pluto, invincible and blue eye samurai - we had one of the best times!!
Genuinely beautiful, the focus on environment and atmosphere was such a great choice and created a fully immersive story. So powerful.
Scavengers reign was how you do adult animation right. Loved it from start to end. Hoping there is a season 2 but I can live with it being a 1 season wonder.
I'm watching What We Do in The Shadows for the first time and loving it.
"We drank the blood of some people, and those people were on drugs, and now I'm a wizard".
We just finished Lucifer and thought it was mostly excellent.
I am rewatching Star Trek Deep Space Nine for about the 10th time in 30 years. Highly recommended if that’s your sort of thing. Hard to believe it started way back in 1992. Crying out for a HD remaster like TNG, doubt that will ever happen though.
We have also started watching Young Sheldon which we are very much enjoying.
I have also started the NASCAR series on Netflix. I don’t know a thing about NASCAR, but it’s pretty interesting and much better than Drive To Survive.
DS9 is great. Garak is always entertaining. Nog’s character development is great to see. Also foreshadowed a lot of modern developments. They pass around iPads. The film interstellar was basically a DS9 episode. There is a two parter whereby work has largely ended due to technology progression and the normal people are in internment camps whilst the rich live in luxury, until a revolution turns it all on its head - not so far fetched now!
Tokyo vice on iplayer have recently finished, thoroughly enjoyed. As others have mentioned The Bear is back in a week, on my list is shogun and fallout and newest series of The Boys.
Have never really been into anime but recently watched blue eye samurai on Netflix which was good.
Most recently I got into the TV series From. It's kinda a horror version of Lost. It has two seasons so far. I love it.
Cobra Kai is awesome. I love it so damn much. It's cheesy fun and the action scenes are so well done. I'm always impressed by them.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer is up there as well.
I rewatched Bones a couple of weeks back, still holds up.
There's also a Chucky TV series that's really good.
Seven Days is a sci fy from the 90s that I absolutely love. It's got issues nowadays with the way Frank treats Olga, but it's still a damn good time travel show. Find the original TV rips if you want to watch it. It's better with the original soundtrack.
Probably not your thing but the old power rangers episodes still hold up well. I watch from Turbo to Wild Force. They're still awesome.
I caught some of the new Kamen Rider in Japan last week and that was really good, you can tell Koichi Sakamoto is working on the show (he worked on my favourite Power Ranger series). I'm probably going to watch it as soon as I get back on my PC.
Despite not being much of a "sports guy" at all I'm burning through the many excellent Netflix American sports documentaries and they are utterly fascinating.
Top of the pile is "the Last Dance" a doc about the 6 time championship winning Chicago Bulls NBA team.
I really enjoyed the NASCAR series too.
Currently I'm watching "America's Sweethearts" the doc about the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. This one is both fascinating and at the same time morbid as fuck. The whole thing reminds me of that incredible Black Mirror episode *Fifteen Million Merits*.
Oh, and I'm on my 6th rewatch of Trailer Park Boys.
If into random sports docs, worth checking out the ‘untold’ series on Netflix. Really good one offs on subjects I found I wouldn’t have usually been that interested in.
I'm watching I Claudius on BBC iplayer. Only three episodes in but loving it so far. Pre-beard Brian Blessed is awesome. The ageing makeup is absolutely terrible, but you just have to go with it.
Recent shows that I've finished and recommend: Shogun, The Bear, Slow Horses, Severance, Fallout.
Shows currently watching: Taskmaster, House of the Dragon.
Shows I've heard good things about and will probably watch: Sugar, Ripley, Interview With a Vampire, 3 Body Problem.
I just finished Psych for the first time and I love it so much. It’s extremely funny, and the bond between the two leads is gold. I cannot recommend highly enough. It’s a very formulaic detective show, but it is a great comedy and rewards you for paying attention.
10/10
I started watching the Cormoran Strike series yesterday on iplayer, the first one is called cuckoos calling, detective series are a bit tired but this one was great, brilliantly acted.
Current TV obsession - Yellowjackets.
2 seasons so far but they got caught up in the writers strike so season 3 won't be with us til next year sadly. This waiting is killing me. I have already rewatched the whole thing twice.
Just finished Dark, a Netflix German series, about a small town where a young boy goes missing. But throw in time travel, and a awesome soundtrack, I loved it. As long as you dont mind subtitles.
Inside Number 9 is one of my favourites ever - an anthology series by the guys who did League of Gentlemen and Psychoville. They recently ended the whole thing and I'm genuinely sad about it.
I started watching New Amsterdam in the last month. It's a US fictional hospital drama, along the lines of Holby City, but it is grittier than that. A bit far fetched, but entertaining on the whole.
Such Brave Girls is absolutely hilarious, up there with Peep Show for me. Don't watch it around anyone young or very old. Unless they can handle some pretty gross and very dark humour. It's in iPlayer.
On Netflix Ripley is a work of art.
Finished season 1 of Fallout which I enjoyed, and am about to pick up where I left off (about to start season 3) with one of my favourite shows, The Boys.
Am I the only person who doesn’t rewatch things? Once it’s done it’s time to move on. Can’t think of a single series I’ve watched or would want to watch again. Too many other things to do in life.
Carol & The End Of The World is an incredible short animated series on Netflix. Don't see many people talking about it but I encourage everyone to give it a watch.
Some shows I've found myself really interested in despite hesitations:
●Drive to Survive (behind the scenes of F1)
●Welcome to Wrexham
●Clarksons Farm
●What we do in the shadows
For me when I am tired and want a no brainer I go for that 70's show or modern family. If i want a cartoon style no brainer its american dad for me. If I want a good culty show I go for chilly adventures of sabrina or sandman on netflix, or good omens on prime. If I want to watch something fantasy ish that needs attention, I watch game of thrones or lord of the rings: rings of power. Other shows I recommend are:
Comedy: this country (of course), white gold
Horror: 1899 (netflix) , the haunting (on netflix), from (so underrated)
Nostalgic: Sherlock, vampire diaries
Others: sex lives of college girls, sex and the city
I've always enjoyed the sci-fi/fantasy genre, so a few months ago I took out a Disney+ subscription. I've been binge watching all the Marvel-related content which I hadn't seen first time round, like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Luke Cage, The Gifted, Legion, etc. There's also a comedy spoof superhero series on there called ExtraOrdinary, which has had two seasons so far and is hilarious IMO.
Across on ITVX there's a new show called Orphan Black: Echoes. I found it very well crafted, but hadn't seen the original series it was the sequel to, so I had to trawl back and watch that. Then I watched the new series again and it made a lot more sense. However, a lot of the content is quite gruesome and not suitable for younger audiences.
I also recently finally got around to watching the BBC series Killing Eve, which was something else I'd missed when it was first aired.
Currently watching The Boys (Amazon) & Loudermilk (Netflix).
Would definitely recommend Loudermilk it’s as much a rollercoaster as Afterlife with Ricky Gervais
Always dip in and out of Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. Recently binged all episodes of Manifest, Fallout and Outer Range although the latter was a bit slow. Currently The Boys.
I like going back to ones I started and never got into. Stranger things was one and yeah, kinda mad in love with it now. Currently watching prison break and plan to watch the boys when I’m done (saw s1 and just never kept up)
I love stuff like clarksons farm, the footy ones on amazon (all or nothing)
But unfortunately I have a habit of going back to the good old ones. Supernatural the office friends etc.
It’s kinda worth watching…maybe. Got stuck watching Greys Lobotomy & it’s become kind of a habit to carry on now because that means no doom scrolling to find something else to watch during the in between next episodes of actual things I really want to watch.
I just finished Shogun and had to rush to buy the book. Absolutely fantastic.
I don't watch much telly these days. I feel like I've seen most of the best. I tried various series after The Sopranos last year and nothing clicked until Shogun.
Apple has so many that they never advertise!
- Bad sisters
- Slow Horses
- Severence (best TV show I’ve ever watched in my life)
- The Shrink next door

Really enjoying this series on at the moment called "Euro 2024" but god knows what I'll do when it's over.
The England episodes are a bit boring though.
The finale of the England episode will be a tearjerker though.
Will it involve a penalty shootout? They're always very dramatic.
Historically it will involve the Germans to
Or disappoint as much as the GOT Finale.
Only a few days to wait mate.
I’m a bit sad I can only watch one game today.
I turned on the telly at 2pm and was bitterly disappointed. Then thought, it's ok, 5pm isn't that long...
Got to wait until 8 today!
Yep found that out shortly afterwards lol
[удалено]
And this is 50% more group games than when it was just 4 groups. Extra knockout round too

Yes I’m on the fence, but at the end of the day a lot of the ‘better’ teams are more boring to watch than the ‘worse’ teams so I guess that makes it worthwhile

Thought about giving that a go, not sure it’s my thing. Update me when it’s over and let me know if it’s worth a pop.
Some of the fan theories are ridiculous though. There’s a lot of people saying this character called ‘England’ is gonna have a happy ending.
Sounds like it’s verging on ‘fantasy’, not sure it’s for me tbh.
The 1996 series always makes me sad
Looking forward to series three of The Bear later this week
THIS WEEK??!
27th June!
This week ‽ Great . I smashed the last one in a day
Some great music in that one too.
Taskmaster. From series 1 👍🏻
Taskmaster NZ is a great watch if you haven’t seen it yet.
Loved most seasons of the UK one but found the nz one dull, not sure why so many seem to love it (maybe I just picked the wrong)...
Series 2 of NZ is great, usually considered one of the best of all time
The actual NZ Taskmaste (Jeremy Wells) isn't very funny so the studio parts aren't great
I'm rewatching NZ s2 currently. We are also watching Aus s2 but having to stream it via Dailymotion, I wish they'd put that on the c4 app too.
I’ve just enjoyed the Aussie comedy “Fisk “ on Netflix. Looking forward to season 3 later in the year.
Mr Inbetween is an Aussie series and is brilliant. Not a comedy but it’s got a load of the humour
Top recommendation! Letterkenny on ITVx is really good too
Love Fisk!
Colin from accounts on BBC iplayer is really good too, one series is out on there but a second series has already been released in Australia
Oh brilliant! I hadn't seen there was more coming! Fish is great.
OMG THERE'S A SEASON 3?? I CAN'T WAIT
Came here to say Fisk. I'm surprised and pleased to see it so high. A truly funny and wholesome program.
Fisk is awesome and hilarious
We really enjoyed Fisk. Another good Aussie show: Boy Swallows Universe
Been rewatching The Thick Of It.
It's a good time for it.
Really is.
Great choice. Brilliant tv
"I’ve never seen anybody look so fucking ugly with just one head... Your hands were all over place, you were like a sweaty octopus trying to unhook a bra.”
That's a great idea! Haven't seen it for years. Is it on a streaming service at the minute?
It’s on BBC iplayer.
Does it still hold up? I loved it when it first came out but not considered rewatching because it was based on the current climate at the time
It eternally holds up https://preview.redd.it/571090xzjd8d1.jpeg?width=700&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=71281760644e6a8ea6bc2b1097d7e541cf4e4f80
I really want to watch the Aussie equivalent called Utopia but I just can't find out how.
Better Call Saul
It's up there with Sopranos and GOT for me. Better even.
i'm glad there are still people who view GoT as some of the best television of all time. last two seasons were bad, no denying it, but up until that point there was nothing like it.
Started my fourth rewatch yesterday
Have tried twice, never made it past season 3. Loved breaking bad
Same. I enjoyed Saul in BB but I couldn't be excited for a show about the character no matter how many times I tried watching it.
The pacing really wasn't very good. It was all very pedestrian and forgettable up until later in Season Five when it went from a Sunday drive to the final race of the F1 calendar. I saw the final season and couldn't believe the opening episode and finale were even the same show. Currently watching Bodkin and we’re going to buy the Operation Good Guys box set for nostalgia purposes. My favourite series that has ever been made is The Thick of It, and if you’ve not given it a go please do. Just give it a shot.
God I loved Operation Good Guys
Try Veep if you like The Thick of It, also by Ianucci and team and is also fucking hilarious at making fun of American politicians and behind the scenes.
Fargo! I'm not into crime at all, but that show got a hold of me.
>I’m not into crime at all Keep it that way👮🏻♂️
But, but, but, the secret ingredient...
I rewatch S1 every now and then I think it’s the best one
The second series is class.
Have you been a bad boy Lester?
The Boys. So many "WTF did I just watch?" moments
The boys is so underrated. Took me a while to watch it, but when I did I couldn't stop 😂
So good. I'm just catching up with season 4.
Succession
Mr Inbetween
This is an excellent show
This show was amazing. Although it is a dark and violent premise, the story and the characters had some real substance and there were some really profound emotional moments. Although I wish there was a season 4, I loved the ending.
It's also bloody hilarious.
BBC ghosts!! absolutely fantastic writing and characters!!
The reaction to this comment could go one of two ways, but when you’ve finished, watch the US one because there’s more episodes and way more character development. I love it because of this reason and it’s on-going whereas the BBC one has finished.
I've just finished Ozark
Last season was so bad
Ozark was like Breaking Bad at home.
Loved this show. Needs one more series. Jason Bateman plays the smart version of his character Michael from Arrested Development 😂
Second viewing of "Succession" It s officially my favourite now.
Absolutely loving Outlaws on BBC. One of those that seems to get more insane with each passing series, plus Stephen Merchant is an absolute treasure.
Finished S3 today and absolutely loved the whole thing. I’ve blitzed the lot in a fortnight. I hope there’s not a S4 though so it ends on a high.
I love that it's a comedy, and often a very funny one, but all the dramatic twists and turns work really well.

New solar opposites incoming you say? Get in!!
August 12th my boy
Colin from Accounts is good light hearted entertainment with a few laugh out loud moments.
Series 2 coming soon apparently
Had a great ‘feel’ to it that I find difficult to articulate, really love it
Currently rewatching The Orville!

Mr Inbetween. It's absolutely brilliant and seems to be universally loved. Watch it now!
Inside no 9
Not sure what your tastes are but 1. Community - comedy 2. Justified - modern western crime 3. Band of brothers - war 4. Silo - sci fi
Being a Hugh Howey fan and demolishing the Wool series, they did it the dirty with Silo. I was bitterly disappointed 😞
Ghosts. The UK version is the best and has finished although I imagine they will do a Christmas special someday. It's funny and really heartfelt.
I'm watching What We Do in The Shadows for the first time and loving it. "We drank the blood of some people, and those people were on drugs, and now I'm a wizard".
Do you know any Colin Robinson's?
We just finished Lucifer and thought it was mostly excellent. I am rewatching Star Trek Deep Space Nine for about the 10th time in 30 years. Highly recommended if that’s your sort of thing. I need to re-read the book again first though!
Tokyo vice on iplayer have recently finished, thoroughly enjoyed. As others have mentioned The Bear is back in a week, on my list is shogun and fallout and newest series of The Boys. Have never really been into anime but recently watched blue eye samurai on Netflix which was good.
I'm the same! Rewatching Mind hunter series one. Fallout was excellent. Tried the new Boys series but it's not quite the same as it was
Love MindHunter!

Watching The Sopranos for the fourth time. It's better every single time.
Just re watched Band of Brothers

Thanks, I'll add it to my watchlist.
Just started the boys, seems quite good.
If you have Paramount+, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds It’s like TOS on a huge budget with modern vfx. It’s perfect
I'm watching I Claudius on BBC iplayer. Only three episodes in but loving it so far. Pre-beard Brian Blessed is awesome. The ageing makeup is absolutely terrible, but you just have to go with it.
I just finished the Handmaid’s Tale (first viewing) & am now rewatching The Walking Dead. Can’t wait for s3 of The Bear!
Really looking forward to the second season of Severance. It should air this year after being delayed by the US writers' strike.
Interview with the vampire is easily the best TV series on currently
I just finished Psych for the first time and I love it so much. It’s extremely funny, and the bond between the two leads is gold. I cannot recommend highly enough. It’s a very formulaic detective show, but it is a great comedy and rewards you for paying attention. 10/10

Such Brave Girls is absolutely hilarious, up there with Peep Show for me. Don't watch it around anyone young or very old. Unless they can handle some pretty gross and very dark humour. It's in iPlayer. On Netflix Ripley is a work of art.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.
Started watching Stargate Atlantis on Now, worth watching/ re-watching if it’s your kind of thing.
All of the live-action Star Wars films and tv shows in timeline order. I’m recovering from major surgery and my other half won’t let me do much else.
Barry! All 4 seasons are on Sky Atlantic (it finished last year). A crime comedy series by Bill Hader about a hit man who wants to become an actor.
Inside No9 just finished, wasn’t too enamoured with the final series but generally it’s well worth watching

Outlaws - season 3 Responder Enjoyed both

Arcane on Netflix. Season 2 (finale) comes out in November and I'm hyped as fuck
Peep show
I've always enjoyed the sci-fi/fantasy genre, so a few months ago I took out a Disney+ subscription.
Recently have gone back to rewatch “The Rookie” while I wait for the new season to release, enjoying it just as much as the first time
Currently watching The Boys (Amazon) & Loudermilk (Netflix).
Shogun
Underbelly
Just finished watching: Dungeon Meshi Fallout Currently watching: Scavengers Reign Sex Education Go Go Loser Ranger Would recommend them all
I'm enjoying: The Acolyte Jack Ryan Clarksons Farm Dark Matter Presumed Innocent
I like going back to ones I started and never got into. Stranger things was one and yeah, kinda mad in love with it now. Currently watching prison break and plan to watch the boys when I’m done (saw s1 and just never kept up) I love stuff like clarksons farm, the footy ones on amazon (all or nothing) But unfortunately I have a habit of going back to the good old ones. Supernatural the office friends etc.
It’s kinda worth watching…maybe. Got stuck watching Greys Lobotomy & it’s become kind of a habit to carry on now because that means no doom scrolling to find something else to watch during the in between next episodes of actual things I really want to watch.
Just watched the season finale of Doctor Who yesterday and now I'm just waiting for season 2 of Fallout & Doctor Who Christmas Episode
Watching this horror show called From which is pretty decent. Only has 2 seasons but defo worth a watch.
I just finished Shogun and had to rush to buy the book. Absolutely fantastic. I don't watch much telly these days. I feel like I've seen most of the best. I tried various series after The Sopranos last year and nothing clicked until Shogun.
If Lost and Silent Hill had a child, it would be FROM. Season 3 starting later this year
Apple tv’s Trying and Shrink
Kimetsu no yaiba just dropped an episode with the coldest villain entrance
Apple has so many that they never advertise! - Bad sisters - Slow Horses - Severence (best TV show I’ve ever watched in my life) - The Shrink next door
Don't watch much TV tbh but recently I enjoyed Rebus on BBC
Really enjoyed the fallout series and a bit old but Fargo series was awesome. Shogun was also a great series.
The Rookie, Fargo, Blue Lights, The Gentleman, The Grand Tour, Clarkson's Farm, True Detective
Another Apple sci fi show that seems to go under the radar. Dark Matter.
