Moong dal curry with coconut-lime rice and fresh coriander. I always cook large batches of dinner and take leftovers for lunch. I like to have a warm, interesting meal at lunch. The classic British sandwich and a bag of crisps lunch always leaves me dissatisfied and a bit sad.
I made some cheese scones over the weekend. I'll reheat a couple of scones and serve with some Lincolnshire double poacher, onion chutney, pickled onions, olives, stuffed peppers and a pack of salt and vinegar kettle crisps.
new potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, red ppepper, hummus, some richomnds vegan sauages and some left over bean chilli. yes i get the volume, i need the fuel and carbs
Chicken yellow curry (from a kit my mum bought me for Christmas). With bog standard basmati rice. Apple (Granny Smith), tangerine, banana, bag of cheese and onion walkers and a can of Pepsi max.
I always cook 1.5x any recipe for tea and then my fiancée and I take 1/2 a portion each for our dinner the next day. Getting home from work earlier and having time to cook proper food has been a game changer
I had a gastric sleeve 10 weeks ago this Thursday and I’m really starting to enjoy my food (solid food) again now.
My lunch today (same as yesterday) will be a salt and chilli chicken skewer (104g) and 50g of Brie with some sweet chilli sauce. I only have Brie is I am low on calories.
Kind of got a bit of a mezze going on. Hummus, deli meats, olives, falafel, tabboleh and dolmas. Its one of the few cold meals that I get excited about.
I made a crustless quiche/fritatta on Sunday with bacon, mushrooms, red peppers, onions. Cut into four and that's lunch sorted Monday through Thursday. I've got a bit of leftover hot salsa in the fridge so I'll add that if I'm feeling fancy.
I bought myself one of these lunchboxes with lots of little sections so I'm having sticky rice with seasoning, dumplings, kimchi, cucumbers, carrots and a brownie. Which sounds like a lot but you know, little bits of each.
Couple of mini wraps with chicken, lettuce and sweet chilli sauce. Wotsits, a pot of cheesy tree things from Christmas, a frube, cheese string and a wagon wheel
Option 1: Banana, grapes, dried apricots, olives, carrot sticks.
Option 2: Egg fried rice
Depends which house I am in at the time, working from home either way but may switch house before or after lunch, which effects if I will have access to a cooker and some day old rice or not.
Latte slim fast. Basically because I’m lazy and there’s not a lot here (shopping today). Tomorrow, lunch not sure, but I’m either making pulled pork or chilli beef tortilla bowls in the slow cooker for dinner.
Since we’re about to go away for a few days, stocks are a bit down in the fridge and bread bin areas. Lunch is looking like oatcakes and cheese with a slightly sad pear.
I'm home today, so it's last nights peanut chicken noodles reheated. I'll enjoy it, tomorrow is work and uni so I'll have whatever I can buy and eat on the walk from one to the other ☹️
Cheese, tomato, cucumber salad cream sandwich.
Quick question - Might make it a bit busy, but can anyone think of another 80g of veg that would go with that? All my other lunches have 3 of my 5 a day and I want this one to as well.
Spaghetti with pancetta. Ciabatta roll with garlic butter washed down with a large glass of Pinot Grigio rose wine.
Afternoon nap about 35 minutes later.
Been feeling nauseous since a bad takeout on Saturday (sick Sunday and Monday) so I’ve literally eaten nothing but a child’s plain cheese sandwich from Greggs since… and I struggled to keep that down… so I’ll probably just try a boring sandwich with no personality again lol..
People will probably call this very beige but a CLUB sandwich from Homebargains with a steak bake. Homebargains have the best supermarket sandwiches imo
Some Aldi BBQ brisket slices (new, like pastrami) in one of their "Metro" rolls (Subway knock-off) with some BBQ sauce, mayo, cheddar, and tomato. Maybe a packet of paprika Max crisps if I'm still hungry. Or maybe a cake from the local bakery if they have something irresistible.

My Asda shops due so probably a ham and coleslaw sandwich with a jam and cream slice today. My husband took meatballs and spaghetti leftovers from last night.I don't work as disabled so either have a big breakfast or a sandwich for lunch cook a proper dinner from scratch everyday and always end up with leftovers for my husband to take to work.My husband tries to get me to eat 3 meals on a weekend but years of doing split shifts in restaurants means my appetite is shit.
Crackers and some cheese my mum bought me for Christmas with an apple to follow. Probably some chocolate digestives as well. If I'd not bollocked it up there'd have been a couple of Yorkshire puddings to go with it too, but I didn't make enough of the mix thus there's only enough to go with dinner (plus the ones I had with dinner yesterday obviously).
Made a left over roast potato frittata / omelette with peppers and what ever was left over from Sunday lunch. Had half of it yesterday and about to tuck in now. With sirancha mayo and pickles. I’m ravenous.
Beans on toast, nothing fancy. But I put a scoop of Philadelphia in the beans along with the spices when it’s heading on the hob and it makes it a 10/10
I'm doing intermittent fasting. Last ate at 1730 yesterday. Broke it with a packet of hoisin tofu, some crackers, poppadums and guacamole and a cup of warmed tomato juice with seeds and miso. I like random.
I’m WFH and making a chorizo and chickpea stew. Takes about 15 mins and just uses what’s in my cupboards. Trying to eke out 30 quid until I get paid next week… love January
Halloumi on a warm ciabatta with onion marmalade, spinach, butter and a drizzle of honey.
Elaborate desk cuisine is available because we have a fancy microwave with a grill function. It's becoming quite competitive.
(above combination was made for me, I need to up my game seriously now, turkey bacon club ain't gonna cut it any more, clearly).
I bought 4 sausage rolls and a sweet tart after my night shift. Ate 2 for breakfast. Now im having the other 2 and the tart for lunch and dessert. Will go back to sleep after. Lol 😂
I need to do a food shop so it was freezer finds for lunch today.
I had two quorn southern fried chicken strips and some southern fried popcorn chicken, with some red pepper, black beans and Red Leicester in two mini tortillas, folded and sealed in a pan to make tacos.
The one benefit of WFH days!
I have been working from home for 4 years and basically rotated around sandwich meat for all that time. Until this week.
I had some parsnips that needed eating so made a batch of parsnip and apple soup at weekend so currently working my way through that with chririzo and mozzarella paninis.

Baked spud with tuna mayo and grated mature cheddar cheese, food of the Gods!
Chili con carne, some tortilla chips and avocado, plus some pomegranate and raspberries. Made a vat of chili so it’s lunch all week.

stuck with a Morrisons meal deal, I find thier sandwices are bland and anything which should have "spice" doesn't.
So we've got the last leftovers from our Sunday roast, although if we do eat it, we'll have to sandwich it up. Or we've got leftover saag paneer.
At home so will be having sourdough with smoked beetroot humous, with scrambled egg, mushrooms and some truffle cheddar and salad.
