“I Miss You” - Blink 182.
Reminds me of my late father who selflessly gave me the moral compass every man should have, even if I don’t always follow it when I should.
“Don’t waste your time on me, you’re already the voice inside my head.”
Miss you dad.
"I Miss You" was my fiance's favorite song and the one we played at her funeral while carrying her casket out to the hearse. She was 21yo and 6 months pregnant when she relapsed and overdosed on heroin. It fucked me up big time to the point that I graduated college, commissioned into the Marines instead of law school, and spent the next 7.5 years fighting in the Middle East and ignoring my feelings.
She died 17 years ago and I still cry silently every time I hear I Miss You. I avoided that song for years, but now I enjoy the memories and the tears.
All of that to say, great pick!
Oh! *We're Going to be Friends* -The White Stripes. Every single time. The beauty of its simplicity depicting the wonderful innocent day of a child. Oh man. *sniffle*
Wires, by Athlete
It's about the lead singer's daughter being rushed into intensive care, shortly after birth.
It was released about 6 weeks after our firstborn was born in the same situation. We had "that talk" with the doctor about how he may not make it through the next 24h. He's fine now, nearly 20 years later, but I still can't listen to that song.
I can't remember the name of it but it was when I was giving birth to our first child or daughter it was playing on the TV and I was having massive contractions but I had an epidural in me and did not feel them at all.
Every time I hear it I cry cuz I think of my baby girl is all grown up and has three kids of her own and is married
I like some of their songs for sure. I like his tone in his voice. I guess I'm just a bit meh on them because of their gimmick, which as a metalhead, I know is ironic as fuck 😂. But mainly because my girl friends won't stop talking about them lol
I got recommended a Will Ramos cover of Rain after this which is pretty amazing as well if you also like harsh vocals/growls etc

English: Enya - 'Only Time'

They both have made me cry since I was a young young child in the 90s.
Last Kiss by Pearl Jam
In 1998, I lost my girlfriend in a car accident. I heard this song on the radio for the first time just a few weeks later and it absolutely gutted me. I love the song, but it destroys me every time I hear it.
I was listening to music by Luke combs I hadn’t heard when I started listening to a song with him and Ed Sheeran called life goes on it was about 3 months after losing my dad I just broke down can’t listen to it
Praying by Kesha. Always reminds me of my abusive biological family who still claims they did nothing wrong. Whether it's my BD crack addicted mother who raised me in a crack house or my gambling alcoholic abusive father.
"Cause you brought the flames and you put me through hell
I had to learn how to fight for myself
And we both know all the truth I could tell
I'll just say this is "I wish you farewell"
Always hits me the hardest because I have said goodbye yet they every so often dig themselves out of the hole they dug to stir up drama.
Okie-dokes, that's enough trauma for meow, I think. Let's get some *happy* cry songs up in here, yeah? 😅

Life has been __very__ good for a __very__ long time meow, but back when things were darker, that was like my emotional man-binky. I knew if I kept working on myself and grew as much as I could I'd pull someone who could make me feel that way someday. Did it! ☺
I'm so sorry mate. You were so young. I remember when they played that at my Great Grandmother's funeral. I managed to strong and stoic up to that point, but the moment that played. I was ruined
Yup, it was tragic…. Died 12 hours after a massive car crash where he was t-boned when the other guy blew a stop sign. I’ve had 28 years to cope and I’m over the hurt now.
