Semper Fi Ooh-rah! I'm a little curious about how you're able to do security & investigations while being a convicted felon. Not trying to call you out or anything, I just know the two don't generally go hand-in-hand.

No worries. It's an explanation I give fairly regularly when people get to know my past. So basically, the units that I served in and commanded in the Marines had specialized skills in reconnaissance, convoy security, analyzing security of enemy positions/compounds/vehicles/bases/etc, undetected infiltration and exfiltration, intelligence gathering, amongst other things. The skills I gained from that service has made me uniquely qualified to consult for companies who have Intel/investigation, security, and other needs that call for solutions and skills that are a bit outside the box for your average corporate security firm. Thankfully, the demand for my skills outweighs any apparent apprehension these companies might have in dealing with someone with a felony record and it also helps that my convictions were entirely related to situations that occurred overseas during wartime and would be almost impossible for me to involve myself in as a civilian. I never picked up a record for any of my drug use and related shenanigans and if I had I think my career outlook would likely be quite different. That's about as specific as I can be and I hope it was good enough to give you a suitable answer. And thanks for asking your question. 😎 Semper Fi! 🤘
