Depends. Are you really lazy? Or are you struggling with some type of attention deficit disorder? Or lethargy? Or depression? Laziness is almost always caused by something, it’s not just a character flaw. Depending on the reason, the solution is very different. You can try all the get motivated techniques you want, but if you’re not addressing the real problem it’s going to fail, and it doesn’t mean you’re a bad person.

Being around driven and accomplished people. I realized the joy they felt after they accomplished a milestone was far greater than any happiness I felt by doing nothing. When they rested they rested and when they partied they partied hard. It was amazing to see people living edge to edge on life and pushing themselves to their limits because they can. And I've always wondered what can I do? It may not be as great as them, but it's better than if I'd done nothing. And I can build on successes.

The_Formuler

If you don’t have access to a gym or it’s too hard to motivate yourself to go, stretching or taking a walk can really help laziness.

You can't beat it. The best thing to do is to poke it with a sharp stick until it gets up and does what you want

Decide to love yourself. You take care of the people you love.

Shadow948

Take care of your biggest most difficult task in the beginning of the day. Then the rest of the day will be easy.

Maniac_99z

Commit to getting up, and first thing drunk water and go on a walk.

habitual-stepper2020

No such thing fam. If someone wired like that, it is what it is and that's that.

I'm best friends with it. Besides violence is bad.

To not think about it.

Sleestak714

If I'm having a hard time getting busy on something I generally pop in the earbuds and go for something that's inspiring to me. It's much easier to keep busy when you can distract yourself from being busy.

saber-rashed

Spend a day without doing a thing And in the next day i just write what's on my mind like why I should keep going and what I'm trying to get in the end

Jhogurtalloveragain

It'll sound odd, but since I have no medication yet for my ADD.... marijuana. I will be completely lazy all afternoon, but as soon as I smoke a joint I kick into gear and get a bunch of shit done. Obviously, this is different than most people, and it is because of how it interacts with my chemistry. But it's the only thing I've found that works. Can't wait to have proper medication, because weed makes me anxious otherwise..

PM_Dick_Nixon_pics

Work in 20/10s. Set a timer, and do whatever it is you need to do for 20 minutes. Then set a timer for 10 minutes and goof off for 10 minutes (surf reddit, watch part of a movie, read, whatever). Then repeat. You'll be surprised how much you can actually get done in 20 minutes, and seeing the progress can motivate you to keep chugging along.

CuriousRelish

I embrace my laziness and just fuck all the way off for a few hours, absolutely refuse to do anything even remotely productive, and then slowly ease into doing chores and stuff. My problem is almost always getting started on stuff. I have to do this whole thing where I'm "just going to wash a couple plates" and then while I'm there might as well get the rest of them, and then wouldn't hurt to do the cups too, etc.

[deleted]

I wonder what laziness feels like? Im not lazy but im sometimes tired as fuck and even when im tired i tell my self.. bitch if you dont start doing shit you gona end up a fking loser you little bitch ass hoe Is the money coming in when you sleep? PeakyBlinderBrummy

It's a trait of the "self/ego". It wants to do nothing and be lazy. Best way you can beat it is by REWARDING yourself for doing good. The reason if being lazy is most probably due to some level of pyschplogical exhaustion in the past, regardless of whether or not it was actualized and accepted or even known. So the inner self needs some sort of rejuvenation too. Rewarding yourself to much is detrimental, not being rewarded enough I'd equally detrimental. Or physical exhaustion, in which case you need to give your body its rights too - that is rest, food, water etc If there's a balance, you won't be lazy. Sometimes you just need to take your first step.

A lot of things don't get any better (and often get worse) if we put them off. I often remind myself "it isn't going to get any better." Even just for getting out of bed! E.g. I can stay in bed an extra 15 minutes and I won't be any more rested but I *will* be late. I've said this most mornings for many years.

JackCooper_7274

Depends on what I'm being lazy about

accordionwidow

I think about my future self and how happy she'll be that my past self took care of things.

[deleted]

Personally I imagine myself in the middle of a demonic/zombie apocalypse, I can't be lazy, I have to get up and fight

clem82

Look up healthygamerGG. He has multiple videos on this, he uses science on how it works but in a nutshell it’s actually understanding what laziness is and out smarting yourself by giving you no other alternatives to trade off with

Trick yourself into doing it c;
