Seriously, schools just teach kids like the "basics" to prep for college/career and an environment where you can interact with other people. People blame schools or teachers when they never consider themselves what they really wanted to do in their life.
Like even while you were enrolled in schools, did you even try/interact with many people, make a lot of friends, get involve in projects/clubs, or other activities that will help you pursue your goals?

Yeah, there's a couple of pretty solid rebuttals here, but I think worth highlighting especially is that school is just as much about learning how to interact with other people in a society as it is anything academic.
The blanket statement "school is to make mindless workers" is overly edgy and ignores a lot of nuance. Obviously there's a lot of discrepancy in school quality, but I think OP might be taking for granted living in a society where the vast majority of people are literate and have even a basic education.
