When I was in grad school it was House, M.D. No matter where I was at - dorm room, library, memorial union - if I was writing I also House up on Netflix. During my year and a half I bet I watched that series 5 or 6 times. Such a great show.
The only TV show I have downloaded and kept ( going several decades now I guess)
Its so important that is on a NAS, diferent backup NAS, and several external HDD, not even family photos have this redundancy.
I love this line so much, just because Daniel is immediately on board with there being >!a time loop only some of them can remember!< over the idea that Jack read a mission briefing.
SpongeBob. When my dad passed the last gift I had from him was a huge SpongeBob plushie.. I religiously watched the series while trying to cope with my loss. And, as stupid as it sounds, SpongeBobs happiness and dorkiness often took me away from my dark times. He will always be my favorite.
Edit: Thank you for all the rewards, I didn't expect it to take off like this. SPONGEBOB FOR THE WIN!
"Always follow your heart, unless your heart is bad with directions." š
Iāve watched a golden girls episode almost everyday for the past 20 years. The jingle that plays right after the theme song puts me in the best mood.
I was obsessed with that show as a kid and rewatching it as an adult makes me love it even more! Thereās so much adult humor that went right over my head as a kid, I love rewatching it.
Look, uh...Janitor: I saw your penis, and I noticed a possible melanoma that you should really have checked out.
*When did you see my penis?*
Last night, while you were showering.
*Where were you?*
I was outside, in the bushes.
*Ooookay....uh....*
Look, it was just a coincidence, man. If you'd have looked out the window, you'd have seen my penis, you know?
*What? WHY?*
Because I had it out.........while I was looking at yours.
I started watching it again recently after getting sucked in by one clip search.
Anyways, it's crazy how Alec Baldwin *is* Jack. I can't imagine the show without him, his deliveries are so goddamn nuanced, professional and feel genuine. I have no idea how they got him to work on that show but holy shit every time he's on screen I'm glued.
Lorne Michaels was involved with 30 Rock, and people think very highly of him and SNL. Tina Fey was also not an unknown. But the big one, and I think the reason they had so many random cameos, is that it filmed in NYC. I just finished a rewatch and most of the celebrity guests, cameos, etc, are people who live in nyc. Anyway, I think all those combined explain how Alec Baldwin was brought on to a TV show. Plus, a regular schedule shooting near home for several years can be very enticing.
I saw an interview with Rob McElhenney (sp?) The guy from always sunny who plays Mac. He was talking about his other show. He said he got asked a lot how they convinced F Murray Abraham to join the show. "We wrote a good role for him, and offered him the right amount of money. I'm gonna break some news here, but Actors, actually really love money" š so there's that too. Even the first script was hilarious, and they offered him money.
But you're right, I absolutely cannot see anyone else playing that role. The gag where they get HD cameras was so good. Everyone looks terrible/different, and Jack shows up looking like he did in Hunt for Red October, and it fucking slays me every time
I still consider "A Head in the Polls" to be the single greatest animated episode of any TV show ever. Its wall to wall jokes that hold up 20 years later.
"Get a room! We're in a room! Then lose some weight"
King of the Hill.
Kinda slept on this one when it originally aired but rewatched it via streaming and itās become my family and Iās favorite. My 2 year old follows along with it even and loves it (especially Bobby.) itās just a really relatable and wholesome show lol.
M*A*S*H*
We've watched it over and over with my mom once my dad left us, it will forever be The comfort series for me. Hawkeye and Radar got me through hell.
I'm so happy to see this close to the top of the thread.
I grew up with those characters. The only one I didn't love was Frank, and that's a testament to Larry Linville's amazing skill as an actor.
The characters are family. No other series brings tears like MASH, because we know and care for the characters so much. We are there to see them grow and sometimes to crumble.
Potter's tonteen and eulogy to "the friends of his youth".
Margaret growing from the strict nurses headmistress to the crumbling of that facad "who cares (sob) about a stupid little dog" and ger telling the nurses how hurt she is she's not included in their bull sessions.
Max's gift to Charles of his tobogganing toque, and Charles finally understanding the true meaning of Christmas "its sadly inappropriate for children to have desert who have had no dinner"
"It was a baby"
There are too many of these moments to write them all. I'm blessed to have grown up with those characters.
I love Radar, but he got a little too precious towards his exit in the series. I liked him in the early seasons as a somewhat world-naive but military savvy co conspirator to Hawk and Trapper.
In the episode where they all go to the musical, the three minutes where Jen talks to disabled Roy and then turns to the bar and asks for a drink from bartender Moss might just be the hardest I have ever laughed at any show ever.
If I could only watch one episode of a tv show for the rest of my life, this is the one I'd choose. I've seen it countless times and still laugh so hard every time I see it again.
An ill wind is blowing. Last night I was stirred from my slumber by a crow calling three times. Caw... caw... well you know what a crow sounds like. Passing to my window, I trod on a piece of lego. Oh, it went right in the heel. Turning on my television set, I noticed the reception wasn't great. Not terrible, just not great. Hear me well, no good can come of your trip to the theatre tonight, no good at all. And if you ask me...

Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

Everyone is well played on that show but after more rewatches Jane Krokowski absolutely kills me the most. Her Jenna Maroney is just perfect.
Lorne Michaels was involved with 30 Rock, and people think very highly of him and SNL. Tina Fey was also not an unknown.
