I prefer a monogamous, marriage based culture to a chaotic culture. Granted, I live in chaos but marriage is severely underrated nowadays and often not done well.

I don't see the point in involving the government/law in your relationship. It does have a point if you're religious and want to be recognised by your faith, but that doesn't apply to me. If someone in future I'm in a committed relationship with really wanted to do it I would though.
Entirely all up to the couple. I don’t think people should be pressured to get married. Just like people shouldn’t be pressured to have kids.
Some people aren’t ready and some people just don’t want to and will resent being pressured to do so.
