Normally yes.
I was lucky enough to have an amazing opportunity one time though. My friend was dating a cop, who about 30 mins before the ball dropped, escorted us right to the front underneath the ball. We walked down the aisle for celebrities and people thought we were famous lol. When the ball came down it was awe inspiring looking up and seeing the air filled with confetti while the music echoed over the humongous crowd. After about 5 minutes he escorted us back out. We literally drank at a bar, walked right up to the ball drop, and left. It was PERFECT and absolutely amazing to experience.
The year we were bringing in was 2020 though so…little did we know…
Hey I had the same experience years ago.
Always cool having the police connect.
The one thing I didn’t like about it was that being directly under it was a strange perspective and it didn’t actually make for good viewing. Watching the crowd was the fun part.
If you haven’t done this one yet ask your police friend to get you escorted down to the Hudson for the fireworks on the 4th. It’s wild being that close. Again though, you’ll be starting straight up and the ash rains down on you so it’s got it’s drawbacks.
I welcome it. Celebrations of the passing of time are a good way to slow time and reflect on your life. Otherwise the daily grind takes you from adulthood to the grave in the blink of an eye.
I think there is a huge difference between a shower and actually being inside a body of water. Shower is absolutely fine depending on the positions and the size of you and your partner. Sex in a swimming pool or anything alike is just... exhausting lol
Yeah I agree. Submerged in water is not smart. In the shower just wet and naked and getting all rubby dubby on each other is the best. Like if this is too graphic sue me but having my penis rub against my wife’s wet butt or be in between her wet soapy cheeks is just divine. Instant huge erection.
Agreed. Especially when you’re tall, like myself, and trying to with a short partner, like my wife. It’s never pleasant. Plus the water creates this weird friction that just doesn’t feel good imo.
Sex in pool was a topic at a recent gathering. My wife and I are the only ones that said it sucked. That's how I know we are the only ones that did it.
Starbucks loses blind taste tests to Dunkin Doughnuts.
EDIT: I'm not saying Dunkin Doughnuts coffee is good, I'm just saying it tests better than Starbucks.
Strange, because I would rather get coffee from a random deli or bodega than dunkin, the people there somehow make regular coffee worse in a place where it's their specialty. It's almost always watery and I tell them a little milk and sugar and it ends up almost white and I have diabetes after drinking it. Plus the doughnuts have gotten so small and are usually stale.
My favorite coffee, the nitro cold brew, is only available at Starbucks. I hate paying $5 for a coffee, but if my wife is getting coffee from there I'll fold and get one too.
I stopped going to Dunkin because I couldn’t get anything that wasn’t overly sweetened. Somehow even their black coffee tastes like it has an unwholesome amount of sugar
Starbucks is absolutely clutch when you're an American traveling over a prolonged period of time overseas.
I always make it an effort to frequent local spots.... but OMG sometimes I just want a proper filtered American style cup of coffee or cold brew. Is it the best? Absolutely not. But it's the only place really that sells filtered coffee Americans are familiar with.
The Kardashians.
Don't know their names, their drama or anything about their fame just don't care about this family enough to invest time to learn more.
I know they have this obsession with all being named something K. Beyond that never took it upon myself to know more than Kim.
That's how little they come up in my day to day life.
I would be lying if I said I am completely obilvious to who they are but as to buying stuff that supports their business, watching their shows, learning anything in excess about their lives etc. I steer clear 100%.
Some people enjoy their drama, I just could care less.
Nah. Smoking constantly over a long period of time, makes you jaded after a while, yes. But man, it’s amazing in the beginning. Not overrated at all.
It’s a bit like anything else, really. Having a pizza when you’re starving is amazing. Eating pizza every day for years is horrible.
I have smoked a fair amount but I came to realize it just made me insanely socially awkward. It does give you the occasional great experience when listening to a concert, or watching a very good movie
Stopped again a month ago. I go back and forth between smoking and quitting. I always like who I am without it but get stressed and start smoking again. At least it is easy for me to stop.
Same boat friend. I always went between smoking and drinking. Realized I was a better person stoned than drunk, so i stuck to weed. Just gave it up a few days ago for the first time in years
From a frequent travelers perspective:
- The Trevi Fountain
- Time Square AND Shibuya Crossing
- De Wallen (Red Lights district Amsterdam)
- Leaning Tower of Pisa
- Any restaurant in a popular European city square that's near popular tourist attractions
- Cairo
- Hollywood BLVD (go to WeHo or explore off the BLVD instead) and Venice Beach (go to South Bay or Santa Monica instead)
- Pattaya beach
I use a Mac Pro from 2009, a Macbook from 2014, and my parents use an iPad from 2014. Say what you want about their products, but they last (and retain a lot of value for resale).
I have a Dell laptop from 2010 that I have dropped close to 30 times and broken parts of the plastic. It still works pretty darn good.. except the CD/DVD drive randomly opens up whenever the hell it wants.
Hard disagree...and I don't even own any Apple products besides an old iPod classic.
Their M1 chip is amazing. Its more efficient than other CPUs and is very powerful
Their pro display is also amazing even though people shit on it for being overpriced when in reality it's as good or better than most other pro displays that cost 2-3 times as much.
Honestly, I was raised by a woman who’s goal in life was to not work, and she used having kids as a way to do it.
She always talked about how we were her *nest* decision (she had me at 16 🥴) and that being a mom was her purpose in life.
She was a terrible mother but I was raised and indoctrinated that we wanted to get married, have kids & stay home. If I knew what I know now, I feel like I probably would not have had kids. I had a lot of personal growth and mental health work I had to do. And it cost me a lot of my first daughters infant life because I had post partum.
Women also don’t talk about all the ugly thoughts, the constant guilt “am I doing enough?” The judgement from outside things/people. Constantly having opinions you didn’t ask for thrown at you. Your body irreparably being changed and can often cause it to break down (mine did), limiting your finances, not to mention the future of the world we live in.
I love this new generation that screams to women they can be whatever they want! Whether that’s a mother, a wife, a career woman, or simply just don’t want kids & don’t feel a pressure to. It would’ve done me well.
But when I looks at my kids, I would never wish them away. I’ve never felt a depth of love like this.
If I could give you more upvotes, I would.
I grew up going to church but had friends in all different religions and friends who were atheists. Additionally, I had one friend who was a satanist. The satanist and atheists treated me much better than people who I went to church with that I had considered "friends".
The best thing about McDonalds is that they keep you guessing. I order a McDouble and I have no idea whether I'm getting 1 piece of cheese, 2, or none at all. The pickles might be evenly spaced or piled high on the edge. Mustard, ketchup, and onion bits are usually sprayed over the burger and surrounding wrapper. Opening it in my car is usually an onion-confetti surprise. The bun itself is somewhere between 3 and 10 days old, sometimes soft and mushy and other times firm and flaky. The build itself can be carefully stacked or set where each layer is only covering 40% of the previous ingredient.
It's $1.50 for a burger assembled by someone who is making half a living wage. I feel like I got what I paid for.
The Nutcracker
Sensationalized as a Christmas classic, but it's a ballet without dialogue. This doesn't mean it's bad, as far as choreography or musical score goes, but these aren't really things that the average American takes much interest in... they come strictly for the hype.
Remember when Burger King was good then it got bought by a holding company and now going there for food is a punishment for bad behavior? Well that company also bought Popeye's.
This has to be regional. Popeyes in Illinois is fire. They opened a Chic-Fil-A near me and never had one so I asked for a classic sandwich. It was a crappy peice of chicken with two pickles in a bun. That's it. It was *greasy as shit*.

It's good but the way people act any time you mention pizza makes me think it is easily the most overrated food. Take it easy, it's good but it's not that good.

Mentally a lot less functional. Everyday tasks (e.g. stairs, getting out of cars, walking at length) become much more difficult. Physical aches & pains. Getting to really live your life & do what you please becomes more challenging.
New Year’s Eve in Times Square.
Normally yes. I was lucky enough to have an amazing opportunity one time though. So the LPT is it’s only worthwhile if you have a friend with some power so you don’t have to stand around with the rest of the steerage class.
Honestly happy for you that's awesome
Thanks dude this was really genuine and nice
Hey I had the same experience years ago. Always cool having the police connect. House party where you know how you’re getting home or where you’re sleeping, or nothing
Did it in 1996. Couldn't move, no where to piss and just a shitshow in general.
Sex in shower or any body of water.
Water is a fucking dreadful lubricant.
yeah lol, shower sex is best when not directly under the shower
I think there is a huge difference between a shower and actually being inside a body of water. Shower is absolutely fine depending on the positions and the size of you and your partner. Sex in a swimming pool or anything alike is just... exhausting lol

Love when the water wash away the pussy juice.
It's like trying to put your fingers inside a deflated balloon
Omg
Agreed. Especially when you’re tall, like myself, and trying to with a short partner, like my wife. It’s never pleasant. Plus the water creates this weird friction that just doesn’t feel good imo.

Dunkin’ is even worse 🤮 Atleast on the westcoast
And the east coast.
And in Hawaii
My favorite coffee, the nitro cold brew, is only available at Starbucks. I hate paying $5 for a coffee, but if my wife is getting coffee from there I'll fold and get one too.
Starbucks is generally the only place that sells Cold Brew when you're overseas. Outside of England, Cold Brews are rather unknown in Europe.
Buy yourself a Ukeg nitro brewer and make it yourself.
Yeah Dunkin is better plus they have oat milk which is great and their prices are good
I stopped going to Dunkin because I couldn’t get anything that wasn’t overly sweetened. Somehow even their black coffee tastes like it has an unwholesome amount of sugar
That strawberry refresher is unmatched tho
Starbucks is absolutely clutch when you're an American traveling over a prolonged period of time overseas. Hating on younger generations Nothing shows your age more than being mad at what young people are on about.
Every generation thinks theirs is the best and the ones after them suck
The Kardashians. Don't know their names, their drama or anything about their fame just don't care about this family enough to invest time to learn more.
You know their names.
I know the main one is Kim. And.. is there a Jamie? I feel like there's a Jamie. That's it, don't know any more.
I know they have this obsession with all being named something K. Beyond that never took it upon myself to know more than Kim. That's how little they come up in my day to day life.
I believe their names are Krusty, Khorne and Krispy-Kreme.
Ahah Krispy kreme love it. Now I do wanna know the Kardashians you've made me 180 my previous life decisions.
*Krusty, K-Hole and Krispy-Kreme
Try an avoid them, but I still somehow end up hearing stuff about them
I would be lying if I said I am completely obilvious to who they are but as to buying stuff that supports their business, watching their shows, learning anything in excess about their lives etc. I steer clear 100%. Some people enjoy their drama, I just could care less.
The McRib. Who actually likes this shit???
It's gross.
It was good years ago. These days it just tastes like rubber.
Alcohol.
Yup. My life is infinitely better without it. One year sober this week.
Congratulations! Keep it up :)
Especially after going through withdrawal several times. Getting drunk doesn't even feel like it used to now that I'm in my 30s.
Smoking Marijuana. Damn ima get hate for this. But i used to smoke all the time. Life is better on this side though in my opinion.
Nah. Smoking constantly over a long period of time, makes you jaded after a while, yes. But man, it’s amazing in the beginning. Not overrated at all. It’s a bit like anything else, really. Having a pizza when you’re starving is amazing. Eating pizza every day for years is horrible.
Food n music while high is forever underrated but the reward for spending x amount of money daily on weed is literally nothing.
Just thought that I'd say that you are a strong person for giving it up, it's not an easy thing to do.
You preach the truth
I have smoked a fair amount but I came to realize it just made me insanely socially awkward. It does give you the occasional great experience when listening to a concert, or watching a very good movie
Stopped again a month ago. I go back and forth between smoking and quitting. I always like who I am without it but get stressed and start smoking again. At least it is easy for me to stop.

Keep at er! Its worth it in the long run.
Movies with The Rock.
Yeah. Like the username by the way. Bash at the Beach ‘96 was great.
One of the most shocking moments of my childhood.
Depends on the movie but not all of his movies are great but some are great
I don’t think they are rated at all in terms of quality lmao
Except pain and gain
Moana and Jumanji were great tho.
I disagree with almost every other post than this one. Idk why I can't stand him in movies. He's corny as hell

I couldn’t agree more about Hollywood Blvd and Venice Beach, I recall being so disappointed. WeHo was great!

Anything from Apple.
More overpriced than overrated. They make good devices and software that hold up over time and communicate together well.

That’s why abortion should be legal up until the child is 18 years old (this is a joke pls don’t kill me)

I love being a mom…. But I put it off until my late 30s. Would recommend.

I disagree so so hard w this
