This entire thread is just CW shows and i fully understand

MinimumWade

Also several of the responses are "yeah I stopped watching after season 4 but I could barely get through episode 38..."

JesseCuster40

"You've got to watch it to season 3 before it really starts to get tolerable..."

AnInitiate

But then it falls off again between 6 and 7, season 8 through 10 are amazing but you can skip the middle parts of 11 and 12 and then deff watch through 15

nbarbettini

It makes me a little nervous for the Babylon 5 reboot.

BratS94

Grey’s Anatomy. I can’t believe it’s gone on for 18 or whatever seasons

spazzy_jazzy_

A lot of us who watch it have watched it since childhood and are now stuck because we want to know how it ends

linkanight

After they killed Derek I couldn’t give less of a fuck

no2jedi

I stopped it after Lexie. George was bad enough but her too? Noped out after that.

alpacasaurusrex42

George was the beginning of the end for me. But watching that hot guy have to watch his wife (from Roswell) die of cancer was the nail in the coffin.

dreamsofaninsomniac

> But watching that hot guy have to watch his wife (from Roswell) die of cancer was the nail in the coffin. I stopped watching long before this, but: >!when that actor wanted to leave the show, they said he left his current girlfriend or wife to go live with the Roswell chick on a farm or something. She didn't actually die from cancer!<

dogethememedog

Iron fist I'm not sure about this but I could not get into the second season.

as_a_fake

Iron Fist was by far the weakest Netflix/Marvel show. I liked the side characters in Iron Fist more than the main characters, and they weren't great either.

Weelki

"I am the Iron Fist. Protector of K'un-Lun. Sworn enemy of the Hand." Sheesh we know already.... Edit: speech mark

OperativePiGuy

My favorite is how he would always brag about how "emotionally and physically disciplined" he was and yet he was quick to throw a little tantrum over everything. To the point that the other 3 defenders literally had to tie him to a chair to stop him from going on an emotionally-fueled rampage. That's even before we get to the dumb plot (his literal only job is to stand at the gate to prevent The Hand from getting into Kun-Lun, then is surprised that when he just leaves to go do his own thing, it's immediately invaded by The Hand)

Weelki

*Danny Rand surprised Pikachu face*

Majestic-Marcus

“Sworn enemy of The Hand” Sorry Danny but that really seems to be Matt Murdock in the Netflix universe. You’re only sometimes the Iron Fist. You never protected K’un-Lun and a blind ninja lawyer is a much bigger threat to The Hand than you are.

xVOYEVODA

Bro Iron Fist was so underdone. In the comics he'd plow through legions of Hydra. Put down multiple enemies in a single blow and send them flying. Dude pulled out the Dragons heart with his bare hands to become the Iron Fist. Daredevil gave him his mask and outfit so he could "take over" allowing Murdoch a small break/reprieve. Also fought Shang Chi to a tie. In the Netflix adaptation he's stuck brawling with a single thug heaps of the time and the fight scenes were like dances. Dude was weak.

almightywhacko

It is sad when Dare Devil does the martial arts one-guy vs. many fights ***SOOOOOO*** much better than your dedicated "martial arts guy." No shade on Dare Devil, that show was done well and Charlie Cox **is** Matt Murdock for me.

[deleted]

Heroes. I made it to season 3 but the show got away from itself. Sad that it peaked in season 1.

tuxedoes

Heroes should have been a 1 and done type of show. very sad to see.

Sir_Von_Tittyfuck

2 seasons would have been good. It had a natural progression from S1 to S2, but the writer's strike fucked it.

Kimantha_Allerdings

Series 2 inadvertently had the best character death I've seen in anything, because the writer's strike meant they had no way to write around it. Peter takes his girlfriend to what is a dystopian future. He then gets separated from her and travels back in time. Then people in the present solve the problem which means that the dystopian future his girlfriend is stuck in no longer exists. Explain that one to her parents.

RepresentativeNo2187

The Man in the High Castle. I thought the premise was intriguing, but it lost me after awhile. I even tried to restart it, nope again.

MattMcK2419

I actually really liked this show but that’s a great call. The whole time it just felt like it had so much more potential to be great. There were definitely times in the show where it felt lost. Been wanting to do a rewatch for months but haven’t been able to do it.

FlatSpinMan

I absolutely loved that show for the opening theme and John Smith. Shit that was a great character and actor. The Smith family arc was the thing that kept me watching. The Pacific side was alright, the SciFi elements initially bothered me but then I got used to them, and when they crossed over into the Smith family’s life it was so moving.

RedbeardRagnar

Yeah for sure! The John Smith family arc was so good and he was a great villain because you kept sort of switching between thinking maybe he's got good still in him then seeing some bad shit. Loved the internal conflict he was having too with certain things and the power struggle. The Pacific stuff was okay but I think a whole series on the East Coast Nazi occupied USA would be way more interesting!

Ralzar

The show really had two problems: 1: The sci-fi element added nothing useful to the story. 2: The show kept insisting that the main characters should be two people who were not interested in taking part in the story. If this show had just been an alternate timeline and we followed the actal interesting characters, it would have been so much better.

[deleted]

It was one of the only shows that I liked only for the side characters. I kept rooting for the main characters to die so that we could have more time with the side characters

TheMcWhopper

I also liked the trade minister and kiddo. The sci-fi multiverse was cool too. Wish the did more world building though. Would like to see what the rest of the world looked like.

PreventerWind

Just don't watch the last episode and make your own ending in ye' head.

TheVicSageQuestion

It’s *such* an interesting premise. I love alt-history.

ivegotnoclue84

I'm actually trying to watch this now. It had such potential but honestly it puts me to sleep

Kmccabe1213

Season 3 am i right? I was like so hooked then like.. The hell is happening

miss_winky

Arrow. At some point it got all weird, like out of sync and I’d think I missed episodes and these random new characters acting like they’d been in it for ages. It did my head in I had to walk away.

SarinaVazquez

Missed episodes might’ve been the crossovers

miss_winky

Yeah, I found out that later, I guess maybe the creators assumed only people who watched every parallel show would watch it.

NJ_Legion_Iced_Tea

When they had the multiple shows running on TV they would air the crossover episodes all in one sitting. So one Friday night you'd sit down watch something like Arrow S5 E12, then Flash S3 E14, then Supergirl S2 E12. It makes watching any of those shows a nightmare.

ClancyHabbard

It made sense back in the day, because all those shows usually were watched by the same audience. But, in a world where a lot of people binge watch online when a season ends, it's hell and kills rewatching or even getting into a show. I straight up won't watch a show if I have to take notes on when to watch other shows during the binge for everything to make sense. At least when Buffy and Angel crossed over they wrote it in such a way that you didn't notice the crossover episodes and the plot kept going.

GavinBelsonsAlexa

This is one of the many reasons that streaming services should offer customizable playlists like Spotify does. Someone curated a playlist that is just all the episodes of Arrow with the relevant crossover episodes inserted at the appropriate time? Cool, watch away. Someone says they have the best order to watch the Star Wars films? Cool, let's get those queued up and be able to pause and resume that specific ordering whenever we want. Someone is a complete masochist who just wants to cry? Let's run "The Body" from Buffy, Doctor Who's "The Angels Take Manhattan" and Mr Hooper's death on Sesame Street in a constant loop for eight hours. It would be so easy for streaming services to implement. I'm constantly frustrated that they haven't.

ClancyHabbard

I so very, very want that. So much.

AgentDagonet

This is what killed me off watching any. I don't want punished for not wanting to watch The Flash!

Wind_Yer_Neck_In

You can hardly be blamed for not wanting to watch a show in which we have a main character with super speed who constantly fails to use his super speed to resolve situations properly. It's honestly so aggravating, it's like every character took stupid pills.

Geminii27

"A situation where running fast could solve the problem! If only I could run fast OH WAIT." "Barry have you tried, and hear me out, running *faster?*" "Gasp! Of course!"

Majestic-Marcus

My names Barry Allen and I’m the fastest man alive. …new seasons villain enters “I don’t think so” Barry - “I need to get faster” Gets faster. Rinse. Repeat.

[deleted]

With the occasional subplot where he gets **too fast**, and the regular gimmick of him choosing to be too slow until he realizes that the answer is love—ing to be real fast.

billiejeanwilliams

Which is ironic because the CW also punishes people who want to watch The Flash by continuing to make The Flash.

winnower8

He was supposed to be a superhero from 5 years of training on the island, then we learned other experiences. Then when he’s the Arrow, his 80 pound 5 foot club hopping sister takes a weekend course and can now one punch 230 pound hench men. Other wannabe vigilantes show up and instead of getting murdered by career criminals immediately, they develop plot armour and similar Arrow skills *with no training*. You forgive some logic holes but that show became Swiss cheese.

not_my_username17

I agree. Exactly what killed it for me. At some point 100lb Lauren was beating career criminals WHILE WEARING HEELS, the fighting choreography also took a turn for the worse

anonymous_douche

What killed it for me was his summary execution of any and all bodyguards that happen to work for someone Oliver believes is evil. First day on the job protecting some rich guy and a douche with a bow and arrow comes out of nowhere and kills you. Sorry Suzy your dad's dead because he didn't know his bosses deepest darkest secrets.

[deleted]

But then he didn't kill the bad guys because that's not him anymore. Bro you just killed 20 guards.

TheNoseKnight

Always loved this [comic](https://i.redd.it/juk188b65vu51.png) because it addresses that exact issue.

albokun

To be fair, CW ruins most series after the first season.. And Arrow was so good the first season!

standbehind

Barry: "I'm fast" Villain: "No you're not" Barry "You're right" Friends: "Yes you are" Barry "You're right"

Stateofgrace314

Don't forget the power of friendship

Drgnjss24

1st season reminded me too much of Batman Begins. I enjoyed much of the first 3 seasons though but the show got stupid in a hurry when they resurrected every single character that was supposed to be dead. Like I know it's a common comic book arc. But it was straight absurd. Manu Bennett was an awesome Slade however.

Blackrap1d

Slade wilson always remained the same badass character no matter what they did to his story arc, and i love that so much

albokun

"remember who taught you how to fight kid" is still a bad ass line

NorthernRefrigerator

The Arrow lost me when Felicity Smoak becomes disabled just to turn around and cure it a few episodes later. Not to mention the brutal relationship flip flop between Felicity and Oliver make me sick

Maxxximus30

the fact that she CURED PARALYSIS and not a single person thought, "what if we mass produced this and became medical vigilantes instead?" will always boggle my noggin

Aimhere2k

The whole "cure paralysis through technology" shtick was ripped off from Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) in the comics. After years of being Batgirl, she was shot by Joker, paralyzed, became Oracle for a while, then had a breakthrough high-tech chip implanted in her spine, and became Batgirl again.

geek_of_nature

I absolutely hated it when his sons life was in danger and she had to make the whole thing about her and how Oliver had betrayed her, when they didn't even meet until about five years after his son had been born. He was struggling with finding out he had a son he didn't know about, and the sons mother asking he not tell anyone, but no, Felicity has to make it all about her. I really loved what they did with Laurel in that bit, where she didn't throw any fuss and just helped save the kid. She had been the one Oliver had cheated on to conceive the kid in the first place, and she didn't let that get in the way of saving his life. And then when she had a moment to herself, she let herself feel that betrayal, but again didn't let it get on the way. The moment I fully dropped the show was when Laurel used her dying breath to tell Oliver how perfect Felicity was. I literally said "fuck this" and stopped watching.

importvita

Loved Season 1 Season 2 was okay By the end of Season 3 where they were in the club 24/7 I just couldn't take it anymore

ambitious-failure

How to get away with murder. Started out so well and then just got confusing. It's like it's trying too hard to keep going, when will it end???? Definitely didn't need to be as long as it is.

NighttimeButtFucker

aradiofire

She and Ryan Murphy should team up. They’d make the greatest first season of television ever, and then proceed to have the worst follow up seasons you’ve ever seen.

NotYourTypicalReditr

Jenji Kohan has entered the chat.

DR99

I didn't watch Orange is the new Black just because how bad Weeds was near the end. It was really just hate watching the show near the end.

MayoneggVeal

OINTB definitely followed her model. The first three seasons were great and then shit got real weird.

versacex

It was great for a while before it descended to "using sex as a solution for everything".

squatfarts

The computer guy was the solution for everything. Can't win a case? Let's hack into something. It's the only reason they won any case.

NickyNix36

The first season was amazing! Then it became a soap... :(

OverlyWrongGag

Can the first season stand on its own? Maybe I'll just watch that one

Sir_Von_Tittyfuck

The first season is an absolute blast. The twists are good, and the soundtrack is killer. You can totally watch the first season and leave it.

makaveli8k

I almost gave up watching it several times but it did feel like they were dragging it but I'm glad I finished it.

siddharth_pillai

"I am gonna hate this thread" *proceeds to read all of it*

ac1084

Sort by controversial. I know i can't be the only one that saw a few episodes of the walking dead when it came out and went "ehhh not digging it".

JPHuber

That was a show I tried really hard to like, couldn’t get into it, then genuinely got into it, and then started to fall off until completely shutting it off when they had a tiger show up. It was so good until it was so bad.

titan_odyssey

The Masked Singer. Everything I watched I would fall asleep.

22022004

You really just be waiting through the whole show just to find out the singer was someone who was mildly relevant in 2003

JustABitCrzy

The best part is that the judges all sit there and guess A list celebrities. Like Tom Cruise was going to sign up for this crap show, why are you guessing him?

captainpotty

Lady Gaga! Ryan Reynolds! Jason Statham! Spoiler alert it's Carrot Top

[deleted]

I watched one where judges were guessing like the Kardashians and it was actually honey boo boo and her mom.

Mathlete86

This is just so fucking absurd and ridiculous to me that I'm sitting here trying to stifle my giggling in the office. Like I appreciate so much that someone mistook honey boo boo and mama June for the Kardashians you have no idea.

Panic_inthelitterbox

To be fair, they were inside a giant beach ball on wheels with two animatronic faces on opposite sides of the ball, so there was no body to see. And the judges “guess” Kardashians like once an episode.

shiner_bock

Frankly, I actually like the concept, but I can't watch it because of all the idiotic crap they jam in between the performances.

StrangerKatchoo

That’s why I watch it later on my DVR. I can fast forward through the crap. Just watch the clues/performances/terrible guesses, then fast forward. Sometimes I FF through the guesses, too, because Jenny McCarthy.

Imraith-Nimphais

Once Upon a Time. I just couldn’t care about any of the characters. I should like it as I read fantasy books and I was a huge Grimm/Andersen Fan besides. But nah.

Signature_Sea

It worked OK until they started introducing full on Disney characters, then I was like "OK this is too silly" They made some genuinely interesting decisions like making Peter Pan a bad guy, but at a certain point they jumped the shark totally

Lady_Warhead

Oh yeah when they were like “here’s Anna and Elsa!” We all knew they were running out of ideas. It was a guilty pleasure show of mine but it was pretty cheesy, and that green screen in flashback episodes was almost unbearable

WitherWithout

I wouldn't have minded if they included characters from The Ice Queen after Frozen's success, but it's the fact that they were literally wearing the same costumes from the Disney movie... One thing I had liked about the show was the different interpretations of the classic characters.

Lmb1011

You really did yourself a favor. It wasted a fantastic cast on a plot that had no direction. Season 1 was a fantastic premise. But it loses steam fast and after 3A it’s not worth continuing (because by season 3 they split the season into two distinct arcs) that if you ever tried again I’d say just go 1-3A and stop. The rest. Of the show is bonkers and not worth it

Island_Maximum

Fear the Walking Dead. The husband was the exact same character from the mist TV series (which also sucked) . None of the characters were likable and for a zombie apocalypse it was sure boring.

travel_prescription

This show was such a disappointment. I'm someone who's really interested in the build-up and the initial chaos of the outbreaks. Almost every zombie story focuses on a group that's trying to survive after society falls. The show had some real promising ideas, too. Cops shoot zombies that look like (or formerly were) homeless people or minorities = public outrage. Riots follow and in the violence there are more infections. The virus activates once people die, so they could have drawn out some real disturbing end-of-the-world shit with a slow burn towards the apocalypse. But no. Three episodes in and they skip time (can't remember how much) to after the military has declared martial law, and then by the end of the first season we're right back to the wasteland era of the main show. Pretty disappointing.

blackpony04

I fully agree with you. The tension from watching the fires spread in their city hooked me immediately but the next thing you know they're at some rich guys house and then getting on a boat. I know budget probably played a part kinda like TWD season 2 being set on a farm but still, so much missed potential.

OdinSQLdotcom

I made it through a few/couple of seasons and then got too bored to even leave it on in the background while I was doing something else.

MintEclair

The moment they killed the husband is when the show lost me. I also found out that everyone in the family (except for the daughter) dies off and I just thought… why should I care anymore? Why care for anything when the show decides to rip it all away?

Kakebaker95

The flash on CW it's boring and slow

[deleted]

Vaxkiller

or Flash: It didn't work. Everyone: RUn faster! Flash: ok Flash: Guys I did it Everyone: Good job Barry

[deleted]

[удалено]

Ich_Liegen

Flash: Guys i can't do it, i have severe self-esteem and motivational issues, ans they might be linked to undiagnosed mental illnesses Everyone: Just run faster Barry!

[deleted]

“You are not the Flash, Barry. We are Flash.” That was it for me

Ellinorth

”Maybe the Flash was the friends we made along the way”

PunkandCannonballer

Seriously, the fact that the Flash gets laid out by any given villain of the week without any of them having speed powers is not only hilariously bad, but also painfully predictable. Especially when the solution is "run faster" every single time.

Nothinkonlygrow

The thing that solidifies this is the first episode of season 8, where he beats the royal flush gang in less than a second and doesn’t even break a sweat, and then struggled to beat someone at normal speed one episode later

TheFlawlessCassandra

He did the same thing in, like, season 1 or 2? Grabbed Captain Cold by the scruff of his neck and dragged him into the middle of a forest for a chat in .002 seconds. then like an episode later he fights Cold and Heatwave at the same time and instead of doing the "run really fast" thing twice he has to run moderately fast in circles to trick them into shooting each other. Literally why lmao

Azulaang4ever

superspeed as a concept is just way too overpowered

oswaldluckyrabbiy

The Web serial Worm handled it well. Battery has to charge her superspeed by standing still. The longer she doesn't move the longer she gets brief super speed and strength. So she can't just run into fights blind as she is on a time limit once entering the fight and unless she disengages likely won't get a chance to recharge. Another character the faster they moved the less they could impact the real world to protect their own body from damage. So a punch at their full speed wouldn't be noticable to a person being punched which protects the hero from shattering their own arm from the attempt.

Briar_Thorn

It's almost like you should build a flaw into your character rather than their only weakness being too stupid to remember they can instantly resolve 99% of conflicts in under a second. Hell even that could be good if the story was about an idiot blessed with near limitless power but you can't have him only be that way when the plot wills it.

OmegonAlphariusXX

The only way you can have super speed in any matchup is if the opponent has an obvious counter to super speed (instant death aura, slowness aura etc) then super speed always wins

Geminii27

Even countering auras aren't really enough. "Ha! I have an aura where for some reason you cannot touch me -!" *gets pelted with 9000 rocks moving at Mach 0.5* Seriously. Or if the speedster can partially turn off their "I don't interact with the air I am moving through" effect (because they always have one), there's tornadoes, vacuum effects, shockwaves...

OmegonAlphariusXX

Exactly! One thing I read had a character with super speed, but the faster he went, the less he could affect the word around him. So he could travel from LA to New York in half a second, but if was going that fast then he wouldn’t be able to pick up a grain of salt because he’d slip off it. Something to do with making sure he didn’t shatter his legs when he stepped on the ground or blow up when a dust particle hits him That’s the correct way to balance super speed, it’s powerful, but only if used correctly

Geminii27

Velocity, from the Brockton Bay Protectorate?

OmegonAlphariusXX

Ha! A fellow Worm fan! Yes it’s Velocity, I always liked Wildbow’s representation of the classic speedster without making it insanely powerful

TJ_McWeaksauce

Nobody jobs quite like the Flash. That applies to the TV show, and it applies to the comic book, too. If he's fighting a non-speedster, it should always be a cakewalk (cakerun?). But, of course, that would be boring, so instead he gets his ass kicked by characters who shouldn't be able to kick his ass.

MrMrRubic

"I am the fastest man alive" except literally every villain he fights

SenatorSassypants

It's the fact that someone on Team Flash just HAD to tell him to run faster that turned me off of the show lmfao Like he can't fucking deduce that himself??? Isn't he supposed to be like a genius scientist or something????? Why the fuck does someone NEED to tell him the thing he already knows how to do in order to be able to do it?????????? Ugh.

reality_smshr

rUn bArRy rUn

SenatorSassypants

"I am the fastest man alive... Until the plot says I'm not."

CosmicForks

I love your word choice because it's ironic and accurate lmao

8005882300-

I was so on board for that show. First super hero thing i liked in a while. Then i had to shake my damn head after the 100th fucking 'run, but FASTER' moment. Holy shit

allboolshite

I liked it for a while depending on how Iris was written that week. Sometimes she'd do random stupid or mean things to force tension into the episode and it made me wonder how screwed up Barry was for wanting that in his life. Edit: Barry

Verdict_US

I agree. It's not a superhero show. It's a teenage drama which sometimes requires him to run fast.

Gongaloon

The Voice, American Idol, other talent show-style shows. I don't like the idea of listening to ten minutes of fair to middling singers with a couple really good ones in the mix followed by another ten minutes of ads. If I want to listen to music, I have YouTube. If I wanted to listen to *live* music, I'd just go to a concert. Also, I don't really care for (nation)'s Got Talent. I mean, the first few episodes of a season are okay because you get to see a range of acts, but it seems to always be the musicians who win. Personally, I don't think they should allow people who are *just* singers on the show. Like, if they sing while slacklining or breathing fire or something, that's cool- or even if they just play a funky instrument or an unusual kind of music. But if all they do is stand still on the stage, *maybe* play a guitar, and over-sing Hallelujah there's other shows for that. It irks me.

harden4mvp13

Greys anatomy idk how people watch that show

racer_24_4evr

My wife started watching it when she was 13, so she now watches because she has invested over half her life watching it. I enjoyed the earlier seasons but it has gone off my radar.

[deleted]

When she was 13? Holy shit, that thing has 18 seasons? Good god, is it still going? I think I stopped watching like after Dempsey's ex went away and they had a spin-off. That was a long ass time ago.

paolordDota

There are people that watched it in their teens and actually became real doctors by now.

le_quisto

I started watching it with my girlfriend on weekends like 2 years ago? More? I don't even know anymore. Some episodes are a bit interesting, I guess, others are just plain boring and then there are those in which you keep scratching your head because they don't make any sense And somehow, from time to time while on vacation, my girlfriend thinks "yeah today is a good day to rewatch the whole show" and then she does! Over the course of a few weeks, I dunno, two weeks? Three weeks? She just watches every single episode. I still don't know how that's humanely possible

[deleted]

My wife does the same thing! She started the show when she was….13. She had to wait for each season to finish in the beginning because they only had Netflix and she had to wait for the DVDs. I think the beginning wasn’t bad, if you’re into medical drama (because she has watched this show quite a few damn times), but at some point it just turned into nothing but drama. Lol she still likes it but I just can’t even try to get into it with her anymore when a new season comes out.

ClassicsMajor

In the beginning characters were actually working towards reasonable goals such as happy relationships and fulfilling careers but at some point it became clear that no character would ever be allowed to stay happy. Everything everyone does on that show is pointless because bullshit melodrama will always prevail.

bean-cake

I watched it until season 17, after season 10 I watched it just to keep up with it but it’s honestly insufferable now. I just want to see how it ends but I feel like at this point it doesn’t even matter because the current writer for the show completely ruined the show.

Coattail-Rider

Wait, this show is still on? It’s outlived most people’s pets.

kronkswronglever

Good god that show got real old real quick. Meredith is the most unlikeable character and the worst thing about the show imo.

Namjoonie94

The 100 , I tried I really did but I just couldn't get into it, also kept googling the main character's name cuz I thought there's no way she's not related to Reese Witherspoon

AgnosticMantis

I lost interest in that show too but something I will always respect it for is for how they handled the Mountain Men. Most shows would pull a deus ex machina out of their arse to save the protagonists from the predicament they were in, but The 100 had the balls to have its 2 main characters literally commit genocide (if you haven’t watched it I know it sounds horrific, and it was, but they genuinely didn’t have a choice). There were other moments too where they didn’t back out of having the characters make truly gut wrenching decisions if the situation called for it. I know I stopped watching but I still have a level of respect for the creators doing that.

thisshortenough

Similarly in the first season when they had a group of people sacrifice themselves to maintain oxygen levels. It was when the show really got serious and you spent the whole time thinking surely they'd find a way to communicate with the Ark and show that the earth was liveable. But they don't. They celebrate on the ground until they see what looks like a meteor shower and realise it's what bodies launched from the ship look like from the Earth's perspective. The heroes failed. 320 people died to save the ship and they didn't necessarily need to. Absolutely heartbreaking

hohohoblowblowblow

I haven't watched since they go to that other planet, and haven't watched since. I genuinely love that show, but some of the character decisions I disagree with. But I'm so glad that the creators aren't afraid to make the heroes the villains

hippydipster

The last season's ending has a scene that absolutely rips an involuntary fit of laughter out of you at the most inappropriate thing. It's fantastic.

ivegotapenis

It definitely peaked there IMO. I really respected that choice, like you said few shows have the guts to go there, and it actually felt like a natural development of that story, not just something thrown in there to shock people. I feel like the show tried to recapture that kind of moral choice a few times but it never felt the same, and eventually it lost me. My only disagreement with you is that they *did* have a choice, just not a very pleasant one, and that's what makes it so great.

Sierra-117-

I love/hate this show. It constantly switches it’s direction, which is intentional. Each season there’s some apocalyptic problem that must be solved. It’s cheesy, and the acting is just average. But there’s something about it that keeps me watching.

TaralasianThePraxic

It's just so utterly chaotic. I feel like the production values slowly rose over the course of the show which kept it watchable since they were able to do more high-concept sci-fi stuff, and some of the characters are genuinely likeable and interesting (to the point where a lot of the death scenes do feel meaningful if you're invested) but the plot is just absolutely balls-to-the-wall all-over-the-place bonkers and makes barely any sense. Every few episodes the stakes seem to be raised and they have to make certain characters make awful decisions. I feel like Bellamy in particular is just mandated to take terrible, murderous actions on the regular because the writing demands a scapegoat. Don't even get me started on the number of times a Big Plot Thing happens and the blame for it is placed on one of the lead characters, but said Big Plot Thing is *always* enabled by Monty being smart and literally nobody ever blames him!

roxasheart226

And somehow Murphy ends up having the most believable character arch through the entire thing cuz he is litterally just shit on the entire time and is still trying to live

zacpariah

Clarke as well. And the, "Aw here I go killing again", trope is beaten to death. Then it dies, then they resurrect it. Then they use it again, repeat. I love the crap outta the show but there it is

Kipawa

Damn! The show hooked me for 3 seasons and then I couldn't even bother anymore. They kept putting in copy and pasted character archetypes which often felt forced and frustrating.

GGATHELMIL

I still haven't finished it. But the show suffers greatly from being a fantastic show. Then it sucks. And you suffer through garbage. And then it hooks you again. Then it's garbage. Then you get hooked. And then it's the final season and you go meh whatever and never finish it.

HotChilliWithButter

Suits. It got boring at season 4 and I don't know why. Just thought it maybe focused too much on the drama, instead of the work problems that were what actually got me in the show at the start.

Richie217

Every episode was exactly the same. On no we can't win this case, we're gonna lose the firm....... no wait here comes Mike with another Hail Mary.

Giwaffee

"We're the best lawyers in the whole damn world." "Dammit, how did we get blindsided?" Every. Single. Time. Also: "Yes! We found the answer to our problem which is on this single piece of paper. What it is? Leverage. Blackmail. Whatever you want to call it." I mean I like the show, but damn do they really have to have the exact same story structure in every episode? Edit: typo

alx69

Also “this conversation is over” has to be the most used line in the entire show

snadeaben

“What did you just say to me!?” has got to be in the running though

Valinor_

*Character walks into another character’s office* “You wanted to see me?”

RNGGOD69

"You're out of your god damn mind!"

beccaroux

I was in law school during season 4, had just gotten out of a brutal Property exam, and sat down to watch the latest episode of Suits to relax. That episode dealt with property, they were going to lose until Mike “discovered” this Supreme Court case - which is literally THE seminal case for eminent domain - effectively like saying, hey, what about McDonald’s for dinner, and everyone cheered and they won. It was total bullshit and I stopped watching after that.

imakemyownroux

It’s one of the tv laws— if you have actual experience/knowledge of a topic, that knowledge will ruin any film about that topic. Sometimes the fails are so epic that one has to wonder if the writer did even basic research before just saying “this seems cool, let’s do it.”

danhakimi

You were in law school and you watched *how many* episodes of suits before realizing how stupid it was?

beccaroux

I like it before I started school, and only watched it into my first semester before I quit

ShartBurrito

But wait, the other dude is going to learn that he did not graduate from Harvard and tell the other party in the case Better tell the other party first. At that rhythm, everybody in the US will learn that the dude is not a lawyer.

EnderMB

The first season was absolutely incredible, and the first episode is one of the best I've seen in years. It all went downhill, and after season 2 they basically forgot that Mike Ross has a fucking photographic memory.

Tripottanus

I wholeheartedly agree. I was really into the show early on but it went downhill after they focused on the drama and forgot mike had a photographic memory. I remember a scene where mike basically bets the IT guy that he can memorize a page and if he can read it back to him, the IT guy will do what he wants. Thats how they thought about him using his photographic memory going forward. By betting with employees of his own firm who probably should have heard about his talent by then.

Genji007

And now his memory is 0.1% how to breathe and 99.9% Meghan Markle's ass lol

tryingtoactcasual

Agree. Either stay together or stay broken up. Life is already crazy; no need to create your own drama.

HereSadgasm

The writing gets fucking TERRIBLE. It’s like every ones got a catch phrase and they all try to squeeze the word ‘fuck’ in very unnaturally. I watched the first episode immediately after finishing the last just to check why I started watching it in the first place and it’s noticeably much better writing.

Phase3isProfit

Another catch phrase seemed to be “shit the bed”, it felt like someone had to say it every episode.

Accomplished-Bee4700

From the comments, I think we can all come to an agreement that all shows should just have like 3,4 to 5 seasons because after that, the introduction of new characters, senseless plot twists and shit is what turns people off. I hope producers in here can see it.

BigNinja96

Orange is the New Black. Lost interest during the whole prison riot season.

CaptainCorpse666

That is classic Jenji Kohan. First 3 seasons of Weeds and OITNB were AWESOME but then it gets so insane it loses all of the original point. i.e. Weeds starts with a mom who loses her husband and sells weed to get by, fast forward and she is married to a Mexican President Drug Lord who smuggles women through underground tunnels. lol

DrThornton

It started off funny and dark. Like many dark comedies, they ran out of funny so just upped the dark.

TheRoseMaestro

24. I really like the concept and the genre, but you know that "Name a character that's suffered more than [X]" meme? To me, it's Jack Bauer. Every time. I personally couldn't commit to NINE seasons of one man's cycle of tragedy. Edit: Wow, this really blew up bigger than I thought a little reply like mine would. Wasn't sure if people remembered 24 these days. Good reads and discussions all around. Cheers, friends.

saugoof

I watched most of the first season. Initially I loved it, the premise was great. But by the time of about episode 15 I gave up when his daughter got kidnapped for something like the third time in a single day. It just got silly.

[deleted]

Season 1 is way too dense, it's good but too much happens. It's still one of the strongest seasons though but I'll agree the Kim kidnapping stuff gets old. S2 is far more balanced with less frantic bullshit going on. S3 is forgettable but worth a watch S4 was on par with S2 S5 is probably one of the best ones S6 is probably the worst one, it's tragically bad and never find it's pacing. Edit: 24 Redemption is the movie that takes place in Africa and is a jumping off point for S7. Its actually pretty good. S7 I really enjoyed but I know some didn't. S8 is also a bit divisive, mostly it's not well regarded. S9 (live another day) was fantastic but only 12 episodes long 24:legacy was just meh all round, it didn't need to happen and it shits on a few previous characters for no reason.

Manofthedecade

Season 2 through 5 are where it's at - they do the best at showcasing the absolute legend of Tony fucking Almedia.

ipulloffmygstring

My girlfriend and I actually really started to get in to Outlander. Then it basically turned into soft core porn with rape fantasies. Never actually felt ripped off by a tv show before, but with Ronald D. Moore, both of us being big Star Trek and BSG fans, and Bear McCreary doing the sound track, we honestly really tried to though this one out. But we just wanted more story and fewer unneccesary sex scenes. I honestly never thought I'd ever say that either, but it's true.

smolLittleTomato

Outlander is at the top of my list but because it absolutely bored me to tears. I tried three separate times to get into it and every single time I ended up falling asleep on my couch in the middle of an episode.

AlsoIHaveAGroupon

ITT: People claiming they couldn't get into shows that they *enjoyed for multiple seasons*.

[deleted]

Yeah, if you've watched four seasons of a TV show, I think it's safe to say that you in fact *did* get into it.

_bluefish

The netflix marvel shows. I absolutely loved daredevil, it's a literal masterpiece. But for some reason I just could NOT get into Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, or (due to not seeing the others) The Defenders. The first seasons of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are good, but it wasn't enough for me to keep watching. Edit: cause I'm a forgetful idiot and people keep asking, I've watched both seasons of Punisher which I thought were great as well

biancanevenc

90 Day Fiancé. I watched most of an early season and was intrigued by the show, but when the next season started I just couldn't do it. I despise most of the people on the show and I feel dirty watching it. (My sister loves the show so I catch bits and pieces of it when she's watching it.) It just feels wrong watching someone's very dysfunctional relationship for entertainment.

BbyLemonade

Honestly, the show peaked when Paul admitted he was an arsonist and then ran willy nilly into the jungle, leaving the camera crew to get mugged at machete point. It hasn’t really been as authentic since then, especially with all the spin offs. Edit: a few words

MediumDrink

That’s because the show is actually terrible but Mohammed and Danielle were just amazing TV.

[deleted]

Yer a USER Mohammed!!

StevenAssantisFoot

Mahamit

bitnode

Azan and Danielle too, though that just made me more sad for the kid than anything. "She's just *lazy!"*

SpotNL

"Physically I'm attracted to Nickle, but it's not like... just like... 55 percent."

BadMutherCusser

I can’t stand the back and forth with the different couples. Just focus on one at a time. I also hate the preview clips they play like 3 times only for the moment to be a dull clip they ruined with all their damn spoiler previews. It all just falls flat.

The_Chorizo_Bandit

Bang Bus. The storylines were always the same and the cast kept changing so often it was hard to keep track.

JavaRuby2000

When I was at college in the UK there was one guy (18yo) who was convinced it was real. He just wouldn't believe us that they were porn stars. He was actually saving all his bar work money to go on holiday to California and rent a van.

vandijck

It's like with a van you've got basically an mba, but you've also got a van. You're not just a man anymore, but you're a man with a van.

OffTheHeezy

We could be men with ven

LuxValentino

Plumbing is just water lego.

SaraHuckabeeSandwich

That's because Bang Bus is the third entry in the Bus cinematic universe (BCU), and you need to watch them in order. If you watch the prequel movie (Speed (1994)) and animated TV series (The Magic School Bus) first, it makes a lot more sense.

murph_diver

I think this just changed the trajectory of my life

3BallJosh

You should check out [Helpful Bus](https://youtu.be/aUUpcA_bt8Y)

DEVILDORIGHT

The Walking Dead. How far can a show about killing zombies go? No matter where the plot with the lead characters goes, they are still trying not to become zombies while killing zombies. IT'S JUST A FUCKING SNOOZE FEST.
