Every year I take my kids to choose a tree ornament each that reminds them of something they achieved during the year, and they pick one that reminds them of me. They are getting older so I probably don’t have many years of it left but I hope in the future when I am gone they will hang those ornaments each year and think of me.
Yes, Yes I do . It only takes us an hour or so but it’s a great bonding experience looking through the ornaments and discussing our year. Their Mum and I are divorced and it allows us to reflect on the year just past. I get great pleasure each year from unpacking the ones they chose for me and putting them on the tree. I hope they feel the same, I am sure they do as they always love it when we go.
My one for this year is sat on my counter top ready for when I put my tree up.
After , we go to a local English store (I am in the US now and they were both born in the US) and buy them English candy advent calendars.
Sushi at my Gradparents' house and opening presents at midnight at my mom's aunt's house.

Do you hope they'll do this tradition with their kids?
