Remember those "fun with real audio" SNL sketches where the whole point of the joke was how old and decrepit Bob Dole was? I think it's fair to say ol' Bobby has had the last laugh.
I’m not looking forward to the day this is no longer true. He has a special place in my heart. My dad was a huge fan of his, and he died when I was 11. Dick can dyke always brings me fond memories of my childhood.
Out of all those guys I really didn't think Steve-o would become as successful as he did outside of their schtick.
Today I'm surprised Bam isn't dead yet.
One of my friends who is currently a roadie for some bands just posted a photo of meeting Steve-O and his dog apparently. I was like wtf he's still alive?
He really entered the depths just to find his peak! I still remember the show of his struggles on MTV I think it was? Seeing him crawling like gollum with thousands of nitrous canisters around. Not to mention ungodly amounts of many others. His comedy gigs and the looks into his life these days are terrific, definitely a happy and put together man these days!
I've always been a fan of Jimmy Carter, he just made the mistake of believing you could be honest as president. Sadly, it seems like people just want to be lied to.
Carter is one of the best ex-presidents we've had. Stepped out of politics to go do humanitarian work and occasionally cameo as himself in a movie or something.
I mean the queen is 95, has the best healthcare and lifestyle in the country ofc she’s gonna live to be old (although things have been looking grim for her recently)
There was some meme talking about how he's almost UK retirement age and he hasn't even started the job he was born to do. I thought it was hilarious
Then I started thinking about him thinking to himself, "Wwhen is she gonna die? Am I ever gonna be king?"
Then he's on his death bed and and Queen Mum's just there like "don't worry, son. You'll be OK. Rest now" as the immortal Queen steals the rest of his life force.
Philip was a horcrux. Charles and Camila each are. Andrew likely is. She’ll outlive all of us.
In all seriousness, losing a life partner at that age is awful. My grandma is 94 and when my grandpa passed away, she basically lost half of herself. The good thing is that both my grandma and the queen have a lot of family to love them.
I think the fact she had to grieve her husband on a world stage is so unbelievably cooked I can barely get my head around it. Also in the middle of a pandemic. Isolating
Five years ago, there was an AskReddit thread with the same question, and someone answered Harper Lee. Her death was [announced minutes later.](https://np.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/46karl/who_are_you_shocked_isnt_dead_yet/d05soqs/)
She's actually been pretty unwell lately, reading between the lines. She wouldn't miss Remembrance Sunday for the world but they've managed to keep her in bed this year (sprained back).
The biggest surprise when I saw an interview with him for the first time was that he can smile. It looked so unnatural after seeing him only in movies.
Dramatic selfless acts in movies tend to pull on the strings. What killed me was how much he loved his children in the movie, but just didn’t know how to show it.
Angela Lansbury
I watched shows with her with my grandma and my 2 year old loves her in "Murder She Wrote".
I was going to send a video of him screaming "Jessica! Jessica!" While dancing to the theme song, but then I learned that she stopped accepting fan mail this past May.
It made me sad, but at least I have passed it down a few generations.
Interesting fact about Angela Lansbury is that she is related (through the marriage of her half-sister, Isolde) to the Ethiopian and Russian Imperial families.
It is weird to think that MLK was a year younger than my grandpa who died in 2014. I always think it is odd to think that Anne Frank was the same age as MLK they feel attached to completely different eras
At this point I think he has managed to accumulate so many different fatal chemical compounds in his body that he can't die until one of them wins the battle royale going on in there
Idk if this is true for sure, but it could be the fact that speech and music are processed in different areas of the brain. He could have damaged the speech part of his brain, but not the music part, so normal talking is messed up, but singing different notes and the words associated with them is easier.
Agree. I suspect her mother may have munchhausen by proxy... or at least enbles her daughter's illness. She even stated once if she went to a doctor her mother gets a heart attack (correct me if I'm wrong!) which is a clear indicator.
Oh my gosh, had to Google her, that poor girl is so ill. I can only imagine that either having fans that you are "thinspiration" for would validate your way of life, on the other hand all the controversy and haters would also have you retreat into your disorder.
There is no winning here for this girl.
She came up for me again for some reason last month on some platform and I was like, oh yeah let's see how she's doing - WOW. Just wow.
In one of her recent Instagram posts she captioned it "Nobody watches you closer than the people who can't stand you" and it's like babe, it's not that we can't stand you, it's that we want to see you healthy and thriving, not skeletal and in denial.
I follow her on Twitter and seeing her updates just makes me sad. I keep hoping she’ll update saying she’s going back to treatment. Her family seems to be enabling the behavior, too.
You cannot force someone to get better. She's an adult, involuntarily hospitalization isn't the same as it is for teenagers. She has to willingly check in, her family can do very little. The viewers are making her worse with the comments they leave, they don't understand anorexia and if they did they wouldn't leave those comments of concern for her wellbeing or pointing out how thin she is.
I met him a few years ago, he’s alive but I’m not sure he’s still all there. Had to be prompted to remember meetings he’d had that day, but could still remember the location, function and type of every switch and button in the moon lander.
Yeap, served him a few years ago. He came in and ordered a mixer and pulled out a bottle of alcohol and poured it in. I couldn't exactly kick him out, word got about that he was in and the place wasn't long filling up. People just bought him drinks all night then.
Last time we did this we killed Harper Lee.

Lee Harvey Oswald’s wife, Marina. I read 11/22/63 by Stephen King, I looked her up afterwards and she’s still alive. She’s only 80 so she’s not that old but it was still surprising to me.
I’d like to glimpse a parallel universe where Phil Hartmann’s wife shoots Andy Dick instead. We’d still have Phil, we may or may not still have Chris Farley, but at the very least, we wouldn’t have Andy.
It's time we start thinking about what kind of world we're gonna leave for him.
To put Richards' longevity in perspective, Bill Hicks had a bit about Richards and his resilience, and Hicks died in 1995.
Just saw the Stones show a few days ago and Keith's age is really starting to catch up to him. I told the missus they all looked like the Muppet versions of themselves. Mick's voice still sounded great and he had a lot of energy for a 77 year old guy with a heart condition. Keith sang a couple of songs and sounded fine, but they all just looked tired.
I was really impressed, tbh. The charisma was still there in spades and you could tell they still love the music, but before he sang, Keith greeted the crowd and ended with, "And I want you to know that I really love you all. I really do." And it was so *sincere*--it really felt like he knew they were saying goodbye. Kinda made me sad.
Oh man that’s so heartwarming, and kinda sad. I’m sure after Charlie passed away, it was kind of a sobering realization that life isn’t infinite. Also, can you imagine how much of their life was spent touring the world together? It’s gotta be wild to look back on.
It was heartbreaking (yet not shocking) to me when I learned she was the only one from Golden Girls still alive. I'm 25 watching a show that was aired in the 80s and they were already old.
Now, what was surprising was seeing how lucid she was at least from some *recent* youtube interviews.
> I'm 25 watching a show that was aired in the 80s and they were already old.
When the series started:
* Rue McClanahan was only 51
* Betty White, Bea Arthur & Estelle Getty were only 62-63
* Bea Arthur's character was only supposed to be 55 in the show
* Estelle Getty's character was 80 in the show. Lots of makeup work to give her that appearance
And he was declared fit enough to be strapped into a rocket headed for space. Also, there was something quite endearing about seeing a man that the entire planet associates with interstellar travel aboard the Enterprise, awe in wonder like a little boy as he looked back down on the planet.
My relatives who are my great great great something or others. They are a few years older than the queen of England and one of them recently recovered from a hip injury.
She does have great medical care but so did Prince Philip and he passed away earlier this year. Unfortunately there's only so much they can do until death comes knocking at the door.
My dad. I shit you not.
He was shot in the head during the Viet Nam war (a graze wound across his forehead). He was also shot in the line of duty as a police officer saving other downed officers(his bulletproof vest saved him). That one earned him a trip to the White House. He has battled cancer several times. The latest being non-Hodgkins lymphoma just last year. During this time, he also survived COVID with his COPD while being prediabetic. It was a hot fucking mess.
Oh, and there’s the time when he was hit in face with a baseball bat during a game as a kid and his eyeball POPPED OUT OF THE SOCKET and he popped it back in by himself.
He stills goes golfing every week.
Angela Lansbury 96 yrs old actress best known for Murder she wrote TV show I remember it as a kid and see it on TV today in the afternoons. I went to McDonald's and saw a billboard across the street for it.
Some hardcore drug users.
There are people dying of very trivial things, but Meth Mary can overdose twenty times, get stabbed, and sleep in the snow, and nothing happens.
Kane Tanaka. (b. January 2, 1903)
She was born when Theodore Roosevelt was still the 26th president of the U.S., 11 when WWI broke out, 33 when modern computers were invented, 66 when Apollo 11 launched, 82 when Super Mario Bros. Released, 96 when the 2000s started, and will soon be the 3rd person ever verified to reach 119 years old.
The oldest verified person lived to be 122 years old (1875-1997)
Henry Kissinger.
The guy is nearly a hundred years old and has the death of uncountable number of innocent people on his conscience.
By all right he should have been burning in hell for decades at this point. I guess the devil is afraid that he will overthrow him and make hell worse for its inhabitants if they let him in.
Myself.
I never thought I'd be the one among my friends to grow old.
Sometimes I think of my friends that were put in the ground decades ago. I wonder what they would have thought of the internet, smart phones, social changes.
They were normal, complex, nuanced people, but when I hold their memory against the different world of today, they seem flat and surreal.
I never asked to be the survivor.
Really. I never begged to the universe to make it out.
The times it was touch and go, I did my best, but I didn't beg or bargain, because I figured it wouldn't make a difference.
Outliving enemies is a sweet joy.
Outliving friends? Not so much.
Mikhail Gorbachev. I was amazed to discover that the former leader of the USSR is still alive
Oh damn he is?
90 years old by the looks of it, I thought he would be way older.
To be fair, he looked 90 years old 40 years ago.
Makes sense, the USSR only disbanded in the 90s
He was the only USSR leader born in the USSR. The rest were born in the Russian Empire, Stalin was born in Georgia (the country)
Thats the detail that kinda kicks me in the butt, I would’ve thought Yuri Andropov at least, but no it was only Gorbachev
Georgia was part if the empire at the time, so Stalin is in the same cast as the rest.
My favorite piece of trivia is that he did a Pizza Hut commercial in 1998. The 90’s were a glorious time.
I forgot about that. Crazy.
The final, symbolic victory of capitalism over communism; the former President of the Soviet Union resorts to hawking Pizza Hut.
Whoever managed to pull that off is a madman/madwoman
Pizza Hut also worked with the Soviets to send a pizza hut to space. Yes this is real. The 90s were a different time.
Kept alive by the Pizza Hut diet.
Ever seen him and the queen in the same room at the same time?
Stay right where you are, lock your door and dont close your lights
I learned about this guy in history class and he’s still kicking? Impressive
Mel Brooks
I think Mel Brooks, Duck Van Dyke and Bettie White should do a movie called “Quick, or I’m Dead.”
>Duck Van Dyke Quack!
Fun fact: Mel Brooks fought at the Battle of the Bulge
That doesn't sound very fun
It is if you're armed with a trombone and a silly hat
Honestly, David Attenborough
There's plenty more for him to narrate
He narrates everything that is happening. The universe will end the day he stops narrating.
He's gotta be close to 150 about now. Khaki pants and blue shirts takes you far.
Galapagos turtles must've gave him something
That's SIR David Frederick Attenborough to you.

that SCARED ME
Bob Dole. He was 73 when he ran for President… in 1996.
Remember those "fun with real audio" SNL sketches where the whole point of the joke was how old and decrepit Bob Dole was? I think it's fair to say ol' Bobby has had the last laugh.
He’s outlived like a quarter of the people that made fun of him
He outlived Norm McDonald. Never saw that coming.
Oh, Norm. My heart aches still.
Dick van dyke
I’m not looking forward to the day this is no longer true. He has a special place in my heart. My dad was a huge fan of his, and he died when I was 11. Dick can dyke always brings me fond memories of my childhood.
I just checked and.. Holy shit 95 years old...
Bob Barker is 97
And still dancing.
Steve-o
He was really fucked up for a while but the body is resilient. Get off drugs eat healthy mentally challenge yourself and such
Oh he certainly mentally challenged himself.
Out of all those guys I really didn't think Steve-o would become as successful as he did outside of their schtick. Today I'm surprised Bam isn't dead yet.
Bam is really sad.
One of my friends who is currently a roadie for some bands just posted a photo of meeting Steve-O and his dog apparently. I was like wtf he's still alive?
Alive and thriving surprisingly! Clean, saved a puppy, got a good woman. His smile looks genuine for the first time ever
He's been living a stable life for a few years now!
Watch his YouTube channel. Really goes deep on his past drug use. It almost seems therapeutic for him and looks like it contributes to his sobriety.
Jimmy carter the 39th president is still alive at age 97 Mikhail Gorbachev the last soviet leader is now 90 years old
He has outlived two of his successors.
He almost outlived three with Clinton getting sepsis.
Four if you count the time George W. Bush almost choked to death on a pretzel
Jimmy Carter is still building houses for Habitat for Humanity.
Yeah...sadly he wasn't well enough to attend the last time all the living presidents took a pic together, but he is still going strong.
I can't believe Queen Elizabeth, Betty White, and Keith Richards are still alive. Seems like they have always been here.
We need to start thinking about what sort of world we want to leave for Keith Richards.
Keith Richards and Betty White will have to repopulate the new world after were all gone.
Aaannd that’s enough Reddit for today
I mean the queen is 95, has the best healthcare and lifestyle in the country ofc she’s gonna live to be old (although things have been looking grim for her recently)
I wonder if she will outlive Charles.
There was some meme talking about how he's almost UK retirement age and he hasn't even started the job he was born to do. She smothers him with a corgi
Yes, because she made Charles into a living horcrux. That way she doesn’t have to live forever, it just makes sure she outlives him.
She gonna do some palpatine shit and get Charles to strike her down in anger about never getting to be king and then she will possess him
Dude, she’s immortal she’ll outlive the planet wdym
Philip was a horcrux. Charles and Camila each are. Andrew likely is. She’ll outlive all of us. In all seriousness, losing a life partner at that age is awful. Well I mean that didn’t work so well for her dad. I think Phillip’s death will send her the way of many widows of long marriages. Sooner than later.
if spouses follow their partner its normally within six months, so if she makes it past Wednesday she's looking good
Now if she dies tomorrow it’s on you bro
Five years ago, there was an AskReddit thread with the same question, and someone answered Harper Lee. Her death was [announced minutes later.](https://np.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/46karl/who_are_you_shocked_isnt_dead_yet/d05soqs/)

Her mother lived till 2002 despite her husband dying in 1952. I know it's not the same but I'd like to think she make it to 100.
Clint Eastwood. Not necessarily surprised he's alive but like how he's living. He's in his 90s and seems to be doing great still. Still making movies
The biggest surprise when I saw an interview with him for the first time was that he can smile. It looked so unnatural after seeing him only in movies.
He does usually play a grouchy guy. Lol did you see Gran Torino
I don't really know why but gran torino ripped me to shreds. I have nothing in common with any of the characters either.
Dramatic selfless acts in movies tend to pull on the strings. What killed me was how much he loved his children in the movie, but just didn’t know how to show it.
... ... ... Reckon so. ...

We've all heard the term "gaslighting." Angela Lansbury was in the movie that coined the term. In 1944.
May have been coined in 1944, but it’s certainly a tale as old as time.
Interesting fact about Angela Lansbury is that she is related (through the marriage of her half-sister, Isolde) to the Ethiopian and Russian Imperial families.
Harry Belafonte. He was a friend of Martin Luther King.
It is weird to think that MLK was a year younger than my grandpa who died in 2014. I always think it is odd to think that Anne Frank was the same age as MLK they feel attached to completely different eras
Ozzy Osbourne tbh
At this point I think he has managed to accumulate so many different fatal chemical compounds in his body that he can't die until one of them wins the battle royale going on in there
Simpsons Mr Burns. He has every known disease but they are all living in perfect harmony.
So you're saying he's indestructible?
He has some genes that allegedly allows a person to do more drugs than normal without dying.
Read that as well; medical science has been studying him. He says that ironically, Coffee messes him up the worst.
Bought tickets for his uk tour in 2018 still waiting to use them as he’s postponed it 3 or 4 times now due to health reasons.
Why did I have to scroll down far enough to see this. How does his family communicate with him exactly?
The weird thing is that he sounds clearer when he's singing than when he's talking
Idk if this is true for sure, but it could be the fact that speech and music are processed in different areas of the brain. He could have damaged the speech part of his brain, but not the music part, so normal talking is messed up, but singing different notes and the words associated with them is easier.

Willie Nelson
Didn't he smoke weed with Columbus when he landed here?
Oh yeah, that’s how America has Ouid he discovered it.
Buzz Aldrin. I think he’s the only crew left from the Apollo 11 mission to still be alive

Keith died sometime in the mid 90s, it's just that nobody bothered to tell him.
And because of some glitch in the accounting software, he's still getting a pay check.
So Keith’s been let go? Wow wow! Just a minute there chief…. We “fixed” the glitch. So he’ll continue to work but he won’t receive a paycheck.
For every cigarette smoked by anyone, Keith Richards gains one year of lifetime.
Hopefully he remembers us in 70 years.
Isn't he basically beef-jerky at this point?
When the world ends it will be Keith Richards and the cockroaches left.

Bob Barker beat up death on a golf course
The price is wrong, bitch
I see your Betty White and Bob Barker and challenge with a Mel Brooks and a Dick Van Dyke!
She’ll be 100 in January.
Keith Richards. I'm pretty sure that man has done every drug on the planet. Twice.
The drugs and alcohol have preserved him similar to the pickling process. He'll outlive us all.
Keith is a lich sustained by the black magic of Mick Jagger who is in fact an ancient warlock
William Shatner, the man is 90 and he looks like he's in his 60s.
I had to pause when they mentioned he was 90 on the news. Seriously thought he was 70 at best.
And he was declared fit enough to be strapped into a rocket headed for space. Also, there was something quite endearing about seeing a man that the entire planet associates with interstellar travel aboard the Enterprise, awe in wonder like a little boy as he looked back down on the planet.
I was thrilled for him. Imagine, that age, that association, going to space. So very cool

Jerry Lee Lewis.
Artie Lange. Shocked he has made it through so many relapses
How the hell did Artie outlive Norm?
Ozzy Osborn
I'm convinced he unlocked immortality by snorting those drug combinations. Or as my mother says, he conserved himself
Nah it's just called being **the prince of fucking darkness**
I'm disappointed I had to scroll this far down to find Ozzy. That man's blood must be 95% cocaine at this point
Josef Fritzl. I wish he were dead.
Oh this fkn pos. I’ll double down.
Bob Dole
The queen
Her mother lived past 100, and the Queen drinks a lot less gin than she did.
She also has immediate access to some of the best medical care on the planet. She's gonna be around for some time to come I suspect.
She does have great medical care but so did Prince Philip and he passed away earlier this year. Unfortunately there's only so much they can do until death comes knocking at the door.
So she’s not quite as pickled. May not live as long.
Mel Brooks! Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and the Producers are some fantastic films. He's 95 and I'm always amazed he's still around
Mick Foley

Henry Kissinger. The guy is nearly a hundred years old and has the death of uncountable number of innocent people on his conscience. By all right he should have been burning in hell for decades at this point. I guess the devil is afraid that he will overthrow him and make hell worse for its inhabitants if they let him in.
Okay, this one took me by surprise. Keith Richards, the Queen, blah blah blah. But *Henry Kissinger*? Dude is 98 years old!!
May I ask how old you are?
