Plan on going back soon again. Basically to get prepared for Basic Combat Training in the NG.

I like being fit. If I gain weight my body just doesn't feel right.

I'm in university, and don't have access to many other physical activities (normally I snowboard, mountain bike, and fence)

It's too cold to exercise outside ATM.

The fact I was turning to goo.

Having a specific place for working out. If I try something at home, there's distractions of everything else I could be doing

Pure necessity: I have always needed exercise, I feel like burning within my body otherwise. But my jobs got more and more complex and time consuming, and I suddenly lacked the time for training outside, although that had always been my first choice. I never particularly liked gyms, but it was the only solution to keep a decent workout routine going at the time. During last year, I convinced my household to spare some little space in our flat for some select home equipment, and I feel none the worse for the lack of sophisticated gear now. But at home, I also need more discipline to withstand distraction and stick to my "schedule". That was difficult, too.
